HELP cannot find song

Ok yesterday I searched for Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven and all I found was cheapo imitation tribute bands...WHAT GIVES Is iTunes too cheap to buy good songs? Or am I just being stupid and searching for the wrong thing? Please help.

Beef,
That is in part why certain groups will not release for download. Somewhere along the line they get the idea that someone will make a copy of the digital file, strip the copy protection (in violation of the DMCA), and put them up on the pirate 2 pirate networks.
You have just validated their point of view. Congrats on helping feed the paranoid delusions of the RIAA
Yes, I am saying this with at least a little tounge in my cheek, and at least a little at your expense. But the point remains the same. No hard feelings I hope...

  • "cannot find songs online" when trying to play/import from cd.

When trying to play/import a cd I get "cannot find songs online" message. Only Track # & time are displayed. When trying to get cd info I get "not registered for online use" message. Never did this before. Thanx in advance for any help.

The "not recognized for on-line use" error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs.  Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12 (though the number of reports has reduced significantly since 12.1 was released).  A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected.  I don't have a Vista system to check whether its different, but you may need to:
Select Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization
    Click Folder Options
    Select the View tab
Under Advanced Settings, click Show hidden files and folders, then click OK.
Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\.
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If this doesn't work:
In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
    If this one didn't work:
    Exit iTunes
    Check the following folders:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete any copies of the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
Again, if this procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1 of the second procedure.
If you're still not able to retrieve CD info:
    Exit iTunes
In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.  Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
When this process has finished, restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself.  If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes.

  • ITunes cannot find songs in library

For some reason, my iTunes cannot find songs in my iTunes library that are there. It says the file cannot be located, and I have to go one by one and individually find the files for iTunes. I checked in my preferences and I made sure that it is actually looking in the folder where all my songs are. Any idea why this happened? Is there any way to find all of the songs at once instead of doing them individually? (I have about 800 songs, so that could take a while).

One way you might be able to speed things up ( re-add to itunes) is to find songs where Itunes does know about from the same Artist and then right click on song and select reveal in explorer. This will give you the path to folder of similar songs. You then go to folder and select the songs you want re-added to itunes. While it plays it gets re-added. YOu can play a few seconds of the song and then go to next one that needs to be added.

  • Imovie cannot find songs in itunes

Imovie cannot find songs in itunes

You need to create a play list of songs that you would use for movies - mine is called Music for Movies.  Then when you click on the music icon (the first box in the line of 5 in the grey bar across the lower third of the screen) and a drop down menu will appear showing all your play lists.  Then simply drag and drop, but make sure that you hover over the video clip that you want to add the music to.  If you don't the music will be added to the start of your presentation.  You can always move the position afterwards. NOTE - if you want to add to your play list do it before you start your video editing as the list does not always update when I Movie.

  • Help - cannot find digital copy movie on iPad for flight tomorrow

Ok.  I'm not apple intelligent... But I do OK.  Flying with my 2, 3 year old and 5 month old alone....  I purchased the blu-ray combo pack today of despicable me for the kids tomorrow on the plane!  I only have my iPad.... So I downloaded iTunes onto my parents computer, authorized it, loaded the digital copy into iTunes (shows up and plays from computer) and synced without problems....so I thought.  I cannot find the movie anywhere on my ipad2 tho!  I can only find options for songs and some TV programs we have from iTunes.  The only videos in the Video option are music videos that came with a CD purchase.  HELP QUICK PLEASE!  The insert with the movie says it is compatible with iTunes and Apple devices/mobile devices?

Ok.  Only music videos shows up on the videos options.  I tap all around and no other options.  I looked in advanced options and the iPad/iPod option is greyed out.
Think my iPad synced to my computer.... So for me to sync my computer to my iPad (as in just the movie...) it will erase everything?  I feel like I should be ale to drag it over, but I get a red no circle when I try that......

  • Cannot Find Songs

I get this message when trying to play my songs:
*This song "Dixie Lullaby" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?*
I cannot locate my songs. What has happened?
    Thank you for any advice.

I don't know where you have your music on your Computer. If you cannot find it anymore, than it must have been deleted or something. If not, than it MUST be somewhere on your computer, and you have to tell iTunes where the actual path is.
I recommend to separate your iTunes music from all other music on your PC. To do that, you should go into iTunes and select: Edit > Preferences. Then choose the Advanced folder and set the path for the iTunes folder where you want it (I have it in the "My Music" folder).
Then you should enable +Keep iTunes folder organized+ and +Copy files to iTunes Music when adding to library+.
    Then press OK.
I also recommend the following. You should do this when your library shows no problems to play any song.
You should select Advanced > +Consolidate library+ and press Consolidate.
Then all music of your iTunes library will be copied in your iTunes folder.
This separates your iTunes Music from the other music on your PC (hope you got enough space).
Don't change names or move files inside the iTunes folder manually. Do that only in iTunes. ITunes will then set the new name inside the iTunes folder by itself (presupposed you have enabled +Keep iTunes folder organized+).
    Hope this will help.
    Chris

  • Appear to be losing songs in my library says cannot find song to play?

when I request my itunes library to play a song - it comes up with "cannot find do you want to locate"  I did locate and the ones that will not play are there but are grayed out?  This appears to  have happened after the last update.  Help.  Thanks

    You moved or renamed something.
Either your iTunes Media is in a different location, or a folder in the path to it has been renamed.
iTunes uses an XML file to locate your songs. It works like the hyperlinks in a webpage. If the path to a song doesn't match EXACTLY what is in the XML, it pops the error message up. All it takes is a simple move or name change for that to happen.

  • ITunes cannot find songs when iPod or iPhone is plugged into computer

Every time I plug my iPod or iPhone into my computer, an iTunes box pops up saying, " 'such n such' song could not be copied to the device because they could not be found." There will be a little arrow saying '100 total problems'. Actually it is referring to all songs/videos/whatever in the device. When I look in the library it is there with the exclamation point. The song plays when selected, so it is not gone. It only seems to disappear when I attach a device to my computer and iTunes comes up. I thought I fixed it when I restored my iPhone. After I reattached the phone with the newly added songs, the error message showed again.
It's not as bad as it sounds as the items are still there. The songs are still on my iPod too. When I remove the device and restart iTunes, it acts as though nothing is wrong until I again attach any idevice. It can be a real headache when I want to recharge and play random songs that is cannot find or add those songs to another .
I do have all my songs on a network attached storage device with a RAID 5 system.
    Anybody else have similar porblems?

  • Need help: Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system.

I am having issues trying to generate a pdf from a robohelp 7 html project.  Whenever I try to generate a pdf I get the error "Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system."
I have tried to uninstall both Office (2003) and robohelp, re-installing office first and then robohelp, but it doesn't help.  Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

    Colum,
Thanks for the reply, but it's Microsoft Office, not Open Office.
I have read many threads here and tried most of the suggestions, up to and including:
Uninstall/Reinstall of Office and RH 7
    Adjusting Macro security
    comparing registry entries
There are others but I can't think of them all right now.  Point being, nothing has worked thus far.  I must admit this is fairly frustrating but I haven't given up yet.  Any more suggestions are welcome, and I will review the link you gave me just to make sure I cover all my bases.

  • NEED HELP cannot find data

    Hi all
I just developed a registration application using netbeans 6, glassfish and mysql, JSF EJB
The program runs perfectly apart from a little instability from netbeans. But after the success page has displayed, i Cannot find the data I persisted in the database.
Can some one help me since i'm a bit new to this.
    Thanks in advance

Sorry but my problem is that after the persistence, i could not find the data I entered in the JSF register page.
The progran first displays a register page:
after validation the backing bean invokes the session bean method to save the data.
The method returns a string which is then used in faces config to display the login page.
Well when I run the program, everything works fine.
then i enter the select command in the mysql server console to view the data but the new entry could not be found in the database
Is it that the program is faulty or the data was not saved since there was no exception or error dispalyed

    but i could be wrong..
    thanks

If its a sample application from some place they should have provide it. Otherwise if the Name class usage is simple you can create the class file yourself.
Subsequently you can create you own jar file for this using the
jar cvf [jar file name].jar [package folders]\*.class
    and place it in WEB-INF/lib

  • Need Help ;cannot find any full board waterblock for BigBang 2 x79

I've just bought this MSI BigBang Xpower II and I am really happy with it.  Then it comes I cannot find any waterblock for it.
Please recommend me where can I get it, I really do want one.
    Thank you very much
PS. If no one make them, I wish MSI encorage them to because all X79 board in the market, MSI rules, Peeople still bus Rampage 4 Extreme because of the fullboard water block and also its's ATX.  for BigBnag you really have a big case EG TJ11, therefore it's hi -end board and Im sure that a lot of user that buy BigBangII would be real happy having full board waterblock for their Extreme system.

From what I've found you can use LGA 1366 water block for CPU and then purchase a screw kit made for LGA 2011 MBs. Footprint for water block is the same for both just mounting depth is different and requires a special screw kit. Look it up, you certainly don't need us for that kind of research.
The Cpu block isnt a problem, anything that support LGA  2011 will fit well.  What I actually want  is a Fullboard block or at least PWN waterblock, In thailand  it does get very hot, there are only summer.

    Recommend to use the search features of the internet. Too new a board for much information about availability of aftermarket components. It is doubtful MSI is going to encourage any manufacturer to build aftermarket parts. Contact them & voice your thoughts;

I will try asking  waterblock manufacurer but I dont know how long will it take. thanks for the advise tho.

  • I buy my songs and then i find out they have gone to some unknown part of my laptop, they say locate my songs which i have bought but to no evail io cannot find songs which i have purchased, you are cheating me out of my money which i bought to buy songs

so unfair itunes, you take my money, i download your songs, and then you store them in some remote part of my computer, which i then cannot retrieve , without much trouble. you people are so unfair to simple minded people like me, all i want is my music which i have legitamatlly bought off you, but it appears you steal it right back, and with passwords and such, never accept mine which is true, just have to let you have my last 18.dollars, which i have on credit, but to no use to me as you just rip it back, no wonder you are millionares and i cannot even find my songs, , so you keep my lousy 18 bucks, add it to your millions, cheers, betty gordon.

    Hi Liza225
The article iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads will teach you how to locate your purchase. If you can not locate them, you can still redownload your purchases. Follow the steps in outlined in Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.
    I hope it helps...
