HELP!! Cannot Install or View Itunes

I tried to update to the new ITunes on my laptop and i got through most of it but I get this error at the end.
An error occurred during installation of assembly
'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type=

ANd Now I can no longer open Itunes at all. It says some components are missing or something like that and says I need to re install but I cant do that. PLEASE HELP I need it fixed quickly

So, I tried downloading from the Apple website. It resulted in the same error...2330. As with the previous times, there was no file or director...only the generic message that I stated above.
This all started last week. With the iTunes icon that was on my desktop, I double-clicked it to open it, as I had done thousands of times before, and iTunes would not open. The next day, when I turned my computer on, the iTunes icon was replaced by the iTunes setup icon. When I double-clicked on that, it tried to install iTunes as if I had never had iTunes. This is when the error 2330 began.
Should I simply try to re-install iTunes with the original CD that I received when I purchased my iPod in 2005? I'm really at a loss for what is wrong...and what needs to be done. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

  • Cannot install or uninstall iTunes

When I tried to install the new V10.2 over 10.1.1.4 I continually got a message stating "The path to "c:.......iTunes64.msi" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.". I checked the path and the file is where it says it should be. So, I moved the file to the desktop and tried to run if from there but got the same message. So I tried to uninstall iTunes as suggested in the online support but couldn't uninstall as I got the same message. Now iTunes won't run at all. Help.

"c:.......iTunes64.msi" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.".
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.

  • Help cannot install anything, installer keeps crashing.

I have a G4 12inch powerbook 1.5 running the latest Tiger operating system. I cannot install anything that uses pkg, such as Safari beta or iWork 08 trial. I double click the pkg icon and nothing happens. When I go check console this is what I see.

What is going on here? can anyone decipher this for me please?

Try these in order. Stop if one of them allows .pkg files to install:
    - Run Disk Utility to check for errors. (Do not repair permissions when booted to the install disk.)
    - Try dragging and dropping the .pkg file on to the actual Installer. You can find it in /Applications/Utilities.
    - Insert your Tiger install disk into your computer. Open a Finder window showing the contents. On the install disk go into the Applications folder, then into the Utilities folder. Drag the Installer icon from the install disk into the /Applications/Utilities folder on your hard drive, telling it to replace the version there.
    - Archive and Install, preserving Network and User settings

  • HELP cannot install itunes, uninstall itunes or uninstall quicktime

Hello - Went to upgrade my orig ver of itunes ver 6.0 to the video version to grab some music videos, and that is when all went to ****.
Got an error message that itunes was unable to install to my PC. PC is p4 running winXP sp2/3.
    Error code: -3
Went to uninstall itunes, and got another error message that itunes was unable to complete the task with NO error code.
Also went to uninstall quicktime, and apparently the uninstall is not on my computer. I reinstalled quicktime, which was successful, but after rebooting and then trying to uninstall quicktime again, i got same error message quicktime uninstall cannot be found, quicktime cannot be uninstalled.
I did manage to get itunes successfully uninstalled.
After reboot and clearing out temp files and cache then again rebooting, then attempting to reinstall itunes VER 6.0 just the plain version for windows, NOT the video version, i again got error message that itunes was unable to install on my PC.
    PLEASE HELP.
i cannot seem to load in a successful ver of itunes to listen to music, nor uninstall/install quicktime.
    FYI -
Quicktime will not work when opened through itunes and through start menu, but will work when opened in the program and actually clicking on the .exe button.
pls help! i just want regular ver of itunes without video now, just want to listen to music what i bought, thnx

YES it is a Windows 98 based software, since i was unable to find older ver of Quicktime, i used what i had.
Incidentally, i figured out that when i went to install the Video ver of itunes, the ver 6.0 did not completely uninstall, some files were somehow corrupted.
There is a round about fix located on the windows tech support section which deleted previous Windows installer programs that in turn deletes older versions of programs, you pick from a list that the program detects, and it will delete all older versions.
Here is the link, if you know anyone that needs it..
it fixed my PC, after using this program i was able to successfully install 1st- the standalone version of quicktime, then itunes without incident.

  • Since updating my computer i cannot install or open itunes, help!!!

Since updating important installations on my computer i cannot open itunes. I unistalled it after hours of trying and now i can even install the software. very frustrated and confused can anyone help??

    Hi adora,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
.exe are Windows programs. You need programs written for OS X. Most will be .dmg files (disk image) and will mount on the desktop just like a hard drive. With most you just drag the applications icon to your applications folder. Others need Stuffit Expander to decompress the file before installation.

With that one, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp from Microsoft:

Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Installer Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".

  • Cannot Install/Uninstall/Use iTunes

I have a problem with iTunes, a big problem. I cannot use it. When I try to access it, a message pops up saying 'This action is only valid for products that are currently installed'. However, when I plug my iPod in, iTunes comes up, but sychronisation doesn't work, and I can't do anything with it apart from listen to music.
I can't uninstall or upgrade iTunes - It says it's trying to access a network resource that is unavailable or something.
I can't install it to a different location - it wants something to do with an installion package - iTunes.msi?
I can't even install it to my memory stick - I have the same problem as if I'm trying to install to the C:/ drive.
    Can anybody help?

This sounds like a problem that needs an installer cleanup:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instruction on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • Cannot install Upgrade to iTunes 11.1.3 "Invalid signature"

Recently upgraded to IOS7. iPad cannot connect to PC as "... cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later". When I try to update iTunes to 11.1.3, it stops downloading with error message "iTunes has an invalid signature. It will not be installed". In a 'Catch 22' situation. Please help!

They changed the way but its still very easy. All you have to do is copy your music by using keyboard commands.
    Steps (for MAC)
    1. Click (ONLY ONCE) on your chosen music files outside of Itunes.
    2. press Command + C
    3. go to your itunes
    4. press Command + V
    For PC ,its the same
    - the same stuff but instead of pressing the Command key, its Ctrl .

  • Cannot install or uninstall iTunes 10.4

Keep getting error 1336 system error 5 Cannot write to file C:\program files\itunes\mozilla pluging\npitunes.dll Verify you have access to file. At a loss as to the problem, I verified access, tried running as administrator, tried changing install folder and all results in same error

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I cannot install the latest iTunes because Bonjour cannot be removed?

I've recently got a new iPod touch and I am having problems with downloading the latest iTunes. I go to click download, enter my details etc, and when it starts to download half way through a message box pops up saying 'The old version of Bonjour cannot be removed. Please contact your technical support group.' I tried uninstalling it through my programs, however it says 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavaliable, click OK to try again or enter a alternative path to a folder containing the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in the box below.' All I want to do is access iTunes on my laptop! How can I fix this problem A.S.A.P? Thanks a lot

'The old version of Bonjour cannot be removed. Please contact your technical support group.' I tried uninstalling it through my programs, however it says 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavaliable, click OK to try again or enter a alternative path to a folder containing the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in the box below.'
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I cannot install the new Itunes update on my PC

    I cannot successfully install Itunes update to my PC. Error messages are: (1) an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly;
    (2) ituneshelper.exe tried to load the tuntime library incorrectly.
I have tried downloading, saving, and manually running Itunes64setup.exe as well as initially letting it run automatically. I also receive a message that Apple Mobile device failed to start correctly. I told it to ignore this.

Also consider the following approach.  I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.
