HELP: cannot Install oraclei for linux(8.1.6.1.0) on Redhat7.0

I met a very curious problem. That was after I had install most of that product, the step went to Database Config Assistant and there were 4 steps but the process was always died at the step 3, that was Initiating Database in the processing of creating database. When I used ps -ef |grep oracle, I can always find a defunct process which was concern about oracle installation.
Further more, I found a installation guide which said it has to change the glib2.1.92 to glib2.1.3 on redhat and followed that steps, but it even cannot configure the database(step 1 of creating database).
Please help me.
yours sincerely.

I guess the problem is not enough memory. You could try to install without the startup database and create the first database manually after the installation. You probably will see the database somehow gets created but it won't start for some errors.
I ran into similar situations on a Sun workstation. The trick is at least 256 MB of memory. Also, change the number of processes from default 150 (15 users, 10 processes for each) down to totally 5 processes. That will let the first database start easily.

  • PLEASE HELP: Cannot Install Driver For SB Live CT4

Hi, guys. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    My computer's pretty old. It's a Dell Dimension 8200 that I bought in 200.
I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP, because I like to do so every half year or so to keep my computer running smoothly. This time, however, for some reason it's been giving me issues with detecting the sound card and whatnot.
I opened up the motherboard and it says the product model is the Creative Sound Blaster Li've! CT4780. I went to both the Dell and Creative support pages to download/install the appropriate drivers, but every time I do so I am incessantly barraged with the following message:
"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio Card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this setup program. Setup will now exit."
I have no idea WHY it's not detecting it, so I opened up the motherboard again and made sure the sound card looked to be securely in place. Still, I get the same message.
Also: when I go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Device Manager, I don't see my sound card listed there. I DO, however, see a category for "Other Devices" (with a question mark beside it) that lists "Multimedia Controller" and "Multimedia Video Controller."
Could "Multimedia Controller" be my sound card?
I don't know if I'm making any sense here. Please, please help!

  • HT1461 I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box.

I cannot install updates for iMovie, or iPhoto. It keeps telling me "You have updates for available for other accounts. To update this application sign into the account you used to purchase it."  The thing is, I am logged into the only Apple ID account that I have.
What do I need to do to fix this?
I have a MacBook Pro, with a Retina Display.

No I did not.  These apps came with the MacBook Pro I recently purchased.  I merely logged into the AppStore and checked for updates.  Updates for iMovie and iPhoto both showed up and I clicked on update all and I got the message "You have updates for available for other accounts. • Cannot install JMF under Linux Mandrake 10

I simply cannot install JMF under the Mandrake 10 Official Linux distribution. I downloaded the jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin file and tried to execute it as root. It unzipped some files then showed me an error message about AWT and GTK+. I found a hack consisting of modifying the .bin file to have the PATH variable point to SUN JDK, the error does not show up, but the installation still does not work. In fact, the installation works, but the Diagnostics applet keeps telling me than class files are not present. My Mozilla 1.6 Java plugin is working and displaying the applet. My JMF lib directory does not contain sound.jar, such jmf.jar. I set the CLASSPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH according to the readme.html file. I would like to know if it is a compatibility problem with Mandrake 10, the 2.6 kernel or if JMF just DO NO work under Linux. In the latter case, JMF is a violation to the Java portability philosophy and I would never use it on my own initiative, just if I were asked to.
After the files are unzipped, I have the following warning and error messages.
    Warning:
    Name: HorScrollBar
    Class: XmScrollBar
The specified scrollbar value is greater than the maximum
scrollbar value minus the scrollbar slider size.

    Done.
Even if I do not have a working video capture card (I have an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 but it is not working under 2.6 kernel), JMF should work because some people do not have a video capture card. I also tried with the cross-platform ZIP file, but this one does not contain sound.jar either and the Diagnostics applet keeps complaining about missing class files. I tried to search on the Web for solutions to this problem or for a way to change the CLASSPATH used by the Mozilla Java plug-in (if it uses a different CLASSPATH than the one from the environment variable), but nothing, nothing. Is there a distribution from which JMF would work better than Mandrake 10? Or can JMF work only under Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris? I also tried Blackdown, but a README file directed me to the Sun's page, nothing to download here about JMF.

well, your not the only one.
I have it working in Debian, and JDS.(JMF is setup automatically in JDS).(2.6.6 kernel)
I looked at the installation structure of JDS, and was able to duplicate what they did for Debian.
Maybe it will work for Mandrake two??
ok, all you have to do is copy or create soft links from your Mozilla directory, just like you did with the java plugin, and link to all the *.so files in JMF-2.1.1e/lib directory.
    Should work.
I also read that not haveing the native files only matters if you are doing Capture. not play.
to get your ATI All-in-Wonder 128 to work, make sure you install the correct driver, and have it working under linux, then try it in JMSTUDIO

  • Cannot install creator-2_1-linux-ml.bin

    This is the scenario:
    Hardware:
P IV, 3 GHz, HT enabled, 4 GB RAM DDR 1, DD SATA.
    Software:
Linux Fedora Core 5, I've made "yum update" so I suppouse that everyting it's updated by now.
    J2SDK:
    jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-1586.rpm
I've setup JAVA_HOME so if i type "java -version" responds wtih the appropiate string: java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Run Time Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
I've installed succesfully Java Studio Enterprise 8 and seams to work fine, just did a new jsp and click on run, starts the web browser (mozilla) and appears the adequate page.
But when I try to install creator-2_1-linux-ml.bin the installer responds:
"This application requires a Java Run Time Environment (JRE) to run. Searching for one on your computer was not successful. Please use the command line switch -is:javahome to specify a valid JRE. For more help use the option -is:help."
    And that's all.
With or with out the switch it still not working.
Weird!!!, why is Java Studio Enterprise Working any way?
Am I using the adequate jdk?
Doesn't have the rpm package a jre bundled, why don't the package use their own jre?
I almost forgot, I uninstall all the java packages on my sistem an only reinstale the refered rpm, i hope all the other apps still work.

    Hello;
Your download does not appear to be correct, I would expect a much different result from unzipping.
I would check this out and follow it to the letter if I were doing it :

  • Anyone able to give simple 'how to install' instructions for linux ?

I have a G5 1.8 with 3GB RAM; 80/160 internal SATA drives (the 160gb hd has 2 partitions and one with nothing on it) as well as a Lacie external 320 GB firewire drive. The empty partition on the 160gb drive has been created for Linux (if it ever gets installed).
I need to know where I can get a copy (I dont have a preference for any type yet-whatever works for a computer that is just used by me- as I just want to get started); How specifically to install it (I dont know anything about linux except I have heard about it's ease of use and how anyone can install it-except me it seems-I literally don't have a clue how to do it). Please leave out the geek speak (lol or at least just make it understandable for a someone who's pretty much a 'non-geek').
Thanks so much everyone. This has been a 3 month long odyssey for me with everyone I do ask giving me wildly different answers. As I say I have no idea how to do this and just want to get started.
    Anyone , please ?

    Hi-
There are a few choices for Linux, but there are some peculiarities when it comes to PPC Macs.
I'll give you this article on Ubuntu Linux which has some general discussion.
Anyhow, Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) may be a good version. Check Here.
For Ubuntu, download the software and burn to CD.
Insert the CD into the computer, and, after opening, there should be a screen asking you whether or not you want to run the Live CD. Select Live CD. After loading, the default Ubuntu desktop will show. Once you get to the desktop, select the icon for the full installation of Ubuntu.
Note that you need to install Ubuntu on the primary system disk.
Might have a look at Debian. Complete instructions for installation are Here.
