Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1 on Red Hat Advanced Server
When trying to remove components the uninstall procedure is stuck at the step:
Deinstalling Java Runtime Environment 1.3.1.0.0
Removing inventory entries
How to uninstall specific components (not the whole Oracle sw) ?

Ahh, bull. There's WAY too much install-time linking and compiling going on, period. This should be installed at the factory, and not left for the customer to finish.
Back in the day of wooden computers, aka SVR1.x, yes big install packages were ineffecient. Memory was expensive. But there's not reason ALL of this couldn't be tossed into the binaries - and if you run out of memory go by a GB of RAM for $89 like I did.
In todays time it's pointless and comical to chase around hundreds of separate package versions (or existance thereof) that are needed for the runtime of the product. Just put it together the way it should be BEFORE we get it, then let us lay it down and have it WORK out of the box.
There's no reason not to do this in today's environment, even with Unix going to solid APIs and expected modules. Every time I hear heavy S/W manufacturers (like Ora) start whinning that everyone changed THEIR stuff, thereaby screwing up Ora's stuff is ludicrous. I don't buy it. These installs are made WAY to complicated - and believe me Larry - this business of frustrating the installers will come back to haunt you. It'll come back and bite you in the butt, believe me.
So what if you have to package a slew of binaries into an install? If it'll increase the install success then so be it - Bill Gates learned this 10 years ago...

Had a hard drive crash - iTunes folder is compromised. I cannot uninstall what's left or update from 11.0.1.12 - message is it can't locate iTunes64.msi HELP!!!

Last version worked fine until hard drive crashed. Have tried a clean boot - nothing, same problem. I've deleted temp files, nothing. Saw another comment that Apple Support genius provided files needed for version they had problem with - once received, they coulld remove (uninstall) old version and update to current version. I only wish it will be that easy.

There is no numerical error number, only a message which I'm including below. The file iTunes64.msi is not on my computer - so I cannot uninstall the old version noted above - or update it. There are 189 files left in the folder that appears in the Control Panel. I cannot uninstall, change or repair it - nor can I remove the folder from the Control Panel. I believe I've already deleted the folders shown in my program listing - which probably eliminated all my music.
The hard drive crash has caused several programs to fail such as this, I'm just trying to get my laptop operational with the software or apps I had used previously.

Cannot uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro: Help Please

Cannot uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. Gone to programs and tried to uninstall then message says it is going to do it. Then message prompts come up asking if it can update my software. If I say no action it stops uninstalling. Then if I say yes it goes no further either.
Regret every taken up the trial offer for this programme as I tried using it and message repeatedly appears saying "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command".
Please can someone offer some advice. Thank you.

Try launching acrobat in safe mode, to do so follow the steps:
a.       Press and hold down shift and double click the acrobat icon and then open a pdf file.
b.      If it opens without crashing after about 15 seconds, then you have a faulty plug in, locate and remove it from your plug-ins folder.
c.       To remove plug-ins, you may contact Acrobat Support

Extension Manager CS6 hangs on "Loading Extensions" and I cannot uninstall it.

I've been having trouble with extension manager cs6 for about two days now, trying to apply patches to it to make it run more smoothly and stop hanging on "Loading Extensions". I have looked through these forums and they suggested that I remove all mxi files from a subfolder called "EM Store", but I cannot find a EM store under the proper location. I also cannot uninstall extension manager from my control panel, as it does not show up. I am just trying to get keyframe caddy for Adobe Flash, but I cannot get it without extension manager which is a giant pain. I've seen other people post both of their log files, but I think that just makes these forums impossible to find any real answers, as the majority of it is the log file. Please help asap, as I need this project that I am doing to be done fairly quickly.
Short story:
1. Manager hangs at "Loading Extensions"

You should delete EM Store and Database, then try again, you can find these folders under following path:
Current Machine's Extension Manager CS6 folder: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6, under this path you should remove "EM Store", "Mxi Flag" and "Configuration" folder.
Current user's Extension Manager CS6 folder: C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6, under this path you should remove "EM Store", "Mxi Flag" and "Configuration" folder.
For the 'AppData' is a hidden folder, you could follow this guider (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/show-hidden-files-in-windows-7/) to unhidden it

I cannot uninstall itunes version 10.7.0.21 from my laptop use of that I also cannot install the new update.

Every time I try to do it, a "message" from the windows installer pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable", I try to find the installation package "iTunes.msi" but I can never find it either...!
The funny part is, I can still use this version, but I would like the have the update, which can make my computer much faster than now!

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Thank you so much for posting this. I had the exact same experience while trying to install the newly released (NY) Times Reader 2.0. That installer said that AIR wasn't there. Reinstalling AIR told me it was there. The Adobe Help site said use the uninstaller in the Utilities Folder. It wasn't there. I must have spent two hours trying everything until I happened on your post. Your suggestion worked. AIR reinstalled and so did Times Reader 2.0. Thank you for taking your valuable time to post and help others like myself.

I cannot uninstall a program

I purchased Business in a Box some time ago and was using the program without any problems. After a while I was not able to launch it and sent the details to Apple, contacted support at Busines in a Box that advised me that it was an error that was corrected. Since then they have instructed me to uninstall the program and reinstall the new version.
I CANNOT uninstall the program.
Has anyone ever used this program with similar issues?

I've had a look at their website and they seem to be saying you need to run the INSTALLER, which then has an option to UNINSTALL. Have you tried this?
They also say to try this as an alternative:
1. Open the application "Activity Monitor" on your Mac and search for Box Sync. Select "Quit Process" then choose "Force Quit."
2. Open "System Preferences," then right-click on the Box Sync icon and choose "Remove Box Sync Preference Pane"
3. Open "Finder" on your Mac, navigate to "~/Library/Application Support" and delete the "Box" folder by moving it to the trash
4. Restart your computer

ok so im trying to reinstall itunes after finally having got rid of a bunch of viruses on my computer, which i think were making my itunes act funny, which is why i am reinstalling. but there is one file i cannot uninstall named apple software update, and this file is screwing with my installation attempts. i go to add remove programs, but it tells me that network resources are unavailable for that program, so i cannot delete the file, or uninstall that program, if anyone out there can help me slove this problem please do.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now run the Utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), select the "Apple Software Update" entry in the list of programs shown in Installer CleanUp, and then click "Remove".
Restart the PC and try another iTunes install.
Does it go through properly now?

Why cannot uninstall AIR

I was testing my air app, I install and uninstall AIR several times in XP sp3. After that I cannot uninstall or install AIR any more. When I click the 'Remove' button in "Add or Remove Programs" window, a Error message show:
All the air applications cannot run too, show the same window(except the icon and name.)
I reinstall my system, and did the same thing(install and uninstall AIR serval times), the Error show again.
Does anyone know how to recover from this, I don't want to reinstall my system any more.

I, too, have a problem with uninstalling AIR showing similar errors.
I had Adobe AIR installed for Balsamiq Mockups and for League of Legends, a game that uses it in its menues apparently. After the latest patch of League of Legends I tried to run the game but my PC froze and I had to do a cold shutdown. Afterwards the game was not working anymore, upon launching it I got a typical Windows Error (blablabla has encountered a problem blah).

I wanted to uninstall Adobe AIR and reinstalling it anew, but trying to unistall it in the Software Menu brings up another Error of that kind. So much for deinstalling...
I downloaded Adobe AIR setup again and tried it per -uninstall from the command window but it produces the same error. All of these errors are pointing to the same ModName: adobe air.dll.
I would absolutely dislike to set up my Computer from scratch because of this, so could anyone tell me if there is a way to get rid of Adobe AIR manually so I can at least try to reinstall/overwrite?
All happened on Windows XP Sp3.

Thank you for the Adobe contact. They connected me to the chat link and the Adobe tech Support rep sent me a License Recovery download link (attached) http://download.macromedia.com/pub/support/tools/LicenseRecovery111.dmg.
I have 10.10.1 Yosemite. When I open the download folder and click on the LicenseRecovery.app it shows up on the dock but it nothing happens. I cannot quit the app only Force Quit. I have restarted the mac and that did't help.
Adobe chat suggested I uninstall CS5.5/6 and re-install but why would that have anything to do with the app opening?

i have been using illustrator 10 & CS5 photoshop trial version fine on my windows vista (illustrator for 2 yrs on this computer). i got CS2 so i uninstalled both programs before installing the CS2. after installing i never got a finished window & it just closed. when i tried to open illustrator & indesign it closed as soon as it finished opening. photoshop did ask for registration info & then shut down/closed as well. i tired to uninstall from program/features in control panel but it doesn't work, it doesn't prompt me to do anything so adobe help had me install the windows installer clean up utility to remove programs not installed correctly. they are still not uninstalled & when i tried to reinstall the 1st cd gets to initializing & then stops. i now have removed all the adobe folders from my c drive & still cannot remove. i need to reinstall - HELP!!!! thankyou.

I cannot uninstall QuickTime 7.02 from my computer. As a result, I cannot access my itunes, because version 6.0 requires QT 7.03!!

QuickTime is a "System" component and it installs hundreds of parts all over the OS.
Safest method to revert to an earlier version is to "Archive and Install" from your original Leopard DVD and then use Software Update to stop just short of 7.6.4.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
