HELP! Cannot upload files in DW CS4

The button that used to get the list of files on the server
(DW CS3) is
greyed out and not available in DW CS4.
The message in the box where the file list used to appear (in
DW3) says:
"To view files in your repository you must define its Version
Control
settings"
The arrows that used to let me upload/download files are also
greyed out...
I searched the Adobe web site but was unable to find anything
that I
recognized as a solution.
Please help.
The non-profit I work for paid $700+ to get this new software
for me to use
and I can't make it work... (I've been using DW CS3 with no
problems to
speak of.)
Apparently Adobe doesn't provide even a PDF instruction
manual

I have an .ai file at around 413 megs that I am trying to send through "Send", but keep getting Error: cannot upload file please try again. Been having the same issue for a few weeks. Anyone know file size limits or what might be happening?
I keep having to use wetransfer.com instead which is FREE.

It sounds like Send is timing out--there have been some issues with Send uploading large files, and Adobe is working on that issue. In the meantime, you're welcome to use Adobe SendNow to send your files (log in at https://sendnow.acrobat.com/SignIn.html). You can use the same Adobe ID and password that you use to log in to Send.

Why cannot upload files to documents folder

Hi all,
I have EP7.0 and when i try to upload a file, it show me error:
"N01_BB_InstallGuide_EN_US.doc" does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files.
Here N01_BB_InstallGuide_EN_US.doc is the file name, i tried several files, always get this error msg.

Symptom
The upload of a file into a KM repository fails. Sometimes the user gets the error message "<file> does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files."
Reason and Prerequisites
Either the portal engine or the operating system on which the portal runs has troubles with writing into the directory that is defined as store for temporary data.
Solution
1. With the config tool of the engine, edit/add the following two entries to the server node java parameters:
Example:
-Djava.io.tmpdir=e:\EP_TEMP
-Dcm.tmpdir=e:\EP_TEMP
These must point to an existing and accessible directory on the server.
2. TEMP and TMP environment variables of operating system are to be set that they point to an existing and accessible directory.
In case of Microsoft Windows, go to Settings > Control Panel > System, then choose the tab "Advanced" and the button "Environment Variables". There you can edit/create the two variables.
Set them to the same directory that were selected for the engine parameters and especially make sure that none of the temp variables has a value with percentage characters ("%") or other placeholders but a particular directory.
Example: e:\EP_TEMP
Afterwards, give the user SAPService<SID> write-access rights to the selected temporary folder and restart the Windows machine

Cannot upload file through FTPS

I am writing a FTPS Client (Explicit SSL) in java. For testing the same I am using the JScape FTP Server (Free Version). Altough have managed to login to the server, but cannot upload a file. Below is a brief description of the what's happeng in the code.
1. Created a Socket
controlSocket = new Socket(host, port);2. Issued AUTH TLS writer.write("AUTH TLS");3. Created controlSocket using SSLSocketFactory. Trusted all server SSL certificates.

socket = sslSocketFactory.createSocket(socket, host, port, true);4. Issued the USER and PASS commands to login (Received success response)
5. Issued TYPE A (Received success response)
6. Issued PBSZ 0 and PROT P (Received success response)
7. Issued PASV (Received success response)
8. Retrieving the 'hostName' and the 'portNumber' from the reply for PASV
9. Created dataSocket
dataSocket = new Socket(hostName, portNumber);10. After the dataSocket creation, I am trying to retrieve the response from server when it is getting hanged.
I don't have a clue why this is happening. Could someone help me with this.
N.B. FileZilla Client however connects to the server and uploads data without any error.

I have also tried this... but it still hangs.
dataSocket = sslSocketFactory.createSocket(remoteHost, remotePort);remoteHost and remotePort are the ones derived from the response for PASV.
Do I need to do AUTH TLS again before creating the dataSocket ?? Am totally lost at this point.

Help - "Cannot copy file: Data error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)"

I'm having problems with my Zen Mosaic EZ00. Up until a few weeks ago it has been working fine however, since then, has begun to show the error message? "Cannot copy file: Data error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)" whenever I try to copy files on to it. I have tried the recovery software available and it only updated the firmware. Some files do occasionally (and very occasionally) copy but usually it shows the error message and cancels the copy.
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with this?

Help with Upload file to Server Examples

I have been working with the examples for how to upload a file to the server. Though i got the example to work. there is one more thing i need to do. i need to allow the user to be able to select multiple files. In the example when you click on Upload, it opens a MS window to allow you to select a file. This example does not allow you to select more then one file though. I found another example for selecting multiple files but this one differs very much in that the person who make it "Ryan Favro" created a whole new GUI window to select multiple files. those his example works great, i dont want a special window to select files, i want the MS window to do it.
Is there a way to make the original example that uses the MS window to allow the user to select multiple files ?

Help with uploading files to remote site

I am trying to upload files onto a remote site, but it keeps
timing out. Also, on my new website that i'm making for a client,
when i Put the files onto the remote site it says Started:

index.html - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot
put index.html. Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there
could be a permission problem.
File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not
completed.
Files with errors: 1
index.html
Finished: 5/30/06 7:57 PM
What does this mean? why are the file incomplete?

Have you successfully uploaded to this site before?
Is your site definition configured to upload to the proper
remote folder?
The error message is simply telling you the transfer did not
succeed

Help with uploading files through form

Hey,
I have a website for a sign business and I'm trying to make
it so people can upload custom artwork. I am using an ASP Formmail
script from I think it's www.brainjar.com. If I understood
correctly from the directions, I can't upload files through that
script and I tried it once and it did not work. If anyone has any
ideas then please help. Thanks

Cannot save file 2nd time CS4 ID=-54 om SMB server

Hello,
We have a problem with saving .ai files in Illustrator CS4 on a Windows 2003 server with SMB filesharing with OX 10.6. If we save .ai files for the second time, Illustrator gives the error: 'cannot save illustration. file is locked or in use. ID = -54'.
If you save a file on the OSX 10.6 workstation, it gives no errror. It is an illustrator .ai smb problem. .eps or .pdf on SMB gives also no problems.
Does anyone know a solution?

Saving to the harddisk is the safe and troublefree way. Saving through a network is a known troublemaker.
Maybe you can reset the network connexion somehow. You may try disconnecting and reconnecting between savings and see whether that solves the issue; at least it may show the nature of the issue.

Cannot upload file suddenly

Why this happen?

Ok "cannot be uploaded" is rather unspecific. What happens? Does your browser prevent you from pressing the "Upload"-Button? Are aliens intercepting your data? Do you get an exceptions? An error message? Anything?

Cannot upload file to TFTP on Subscriber

All,
I have an 8.5 cluster (pub and sub). I'm trying to upgrade the phone firmware for one phone by uploading a file to tftp.
I can upload the zip file successfully to the pub, but when I try the same thing on the sub in OS Administration, I get 'Waiting for response from <sub IP>'
in the status bar of the Upload File dialog box, and stays that way, never uploads.
DB status is good, 2 on both boxes. TFTP service started on both servers.
The other odd thing is that i can restart services for both servers from the pub, but when i try to restart services on the pub from the sub i get an error message that i cannot connect to the remote node (pub).
Any thoughts?

I am not quite sure if what you are doing is a special requirement but generally for upgrading phone firmware, you need to download the COP file from CCO and use the Install/Upgrade drop down from CUCM, starting with Publisher and then the subscirber.
Usually the error message states that their is a Tomcat certificate issues between the Pub/Sub. You should be able to go directly to the sub and restart the service. To fix the issue, is the Tomcat cert signed by a 3rd party CA, if yes then it will have to resigned. If its not, the Tomcat certificate will have to be regenerated and Tomcat service restart. This could also happen if you have a user with UserID administrator.

Help--Cannot Import Files!

I cannot import files into Final Cut Express HD 3.5. I have downloaded the latest updates and am on OS 10.4.9, but the problem started before the OS upgrade, so that isn't the problem.
My Macbook is about 2 weeks old, and the program worked when I first got it. But then it started to give me this message:
I installed the latest FCE Updates, but nothing seems to help. The only solution I have found is to create a seperate user account for video editing. I don't know why that works, but it's a pain. I don't like having to log out to work on a video.
The files are just JPGs, and I even imported these same pictures before. Video files do not work either.
I have searched and haven't found anything.
Help would be appreciated.

Have you tried deleting the preferences files in the account that doesn't work, as in Final Cut Express 2: How to Delete the Preference Files?
Make sure you delete all 3 files: just adapt names to your version of FCE.

When I click on insert file all I see is the main menu with the folders when I select the folder it does not give me the option to open to select and upload files.

I fixed it one month ago for slow boot up time, it was fixed yet it is progressively heading doen that road again helpp.
I am a university student and this thing is really annoying

You can only write in NTFS drives in Windows, not OS X or Linux or any other UNIX-based system. If you want to write in NTFS drives, you have to use a third-party application as Paragon NTFS.
Another possibility you have is to format the external drive in a format that OS X can read and write in it, like HFS+ (Mac OS Extended (Journaled)), FAT32 (MS-DOS (FAT)) or exFAT, but this is longer and you need a lot of time to back up your external drive files

Cannot sort files in bridge cs4

Hi
As you know it, since Windows XP xp2, the explorer sorts the files this way :
1, 002, 03, 000004...
For getting back the "right" alphabetical way, you can change the registry. So did I.
Now in the explorer, I get the files sorted like this :
000004, 002, 03, 1
Well
but in adobe bridge CS4, nothing changes. the files are sorted : 1, 002, 03, 000004...
Is there a way to have the files sorted like in explorer ?

Yes it can be done but it's very messy!
The following script should do the job BUT it does require you select Manual sort and move any document first! This makes sure that a hidden file .BridgeSort is created in the folder. This file is re-created into the correct order then a new window is opened and the old window closed. This is because Bridge only reads this file when it opens.
Using ExtendScript Toolkit copy and paste the code into a new window, start Bridge - Edit - Preferences - Startup Scripts, click the "Reveal" button. This will open the folder that the script should be placed. Once that has been done close and restart Bridge and accept the new script. You will now have a new menu item "AlphaSort"

Cannot Open files in InDesign CS4

Yesterday I was working on a file located on a network computer. I have been working on this file for a month or so, everytime it worked just fine. Today I come in to work, and Indesign does not wan to open the file it gives me this error: Cannnot open the file "XXXXX.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the dile may be open in anotther application.
The weird part is that I have been working on this same file many time without problems. And this is not happening on my computer only but on my co-workers computer as well. We can open any file but files from this network computer cannot be open. Even the file and all the files in this network computer cannot be open and the Indesign Icon doesnt show next to the file name.
Has anybody gone though this? Please shine some light.

I have confirmed it is the Cryptolocker. It came in from a coworkers computer and infected our network drive. I do have a good antivirus but it didnt come from my end. I have been reading online quite a bit and there is no solution other that recovering from back up which I do not have, or paying the ransom. Either way I apprciate your help, and the time you have invested in this matter.
