Help!! cant copy any songs to ipod

Hi,
just got a new 30gb ipod and has been updated along with itunes to version 7. Everything seems to be in order, itunes reads it and appears to be fine but when i try drag music onto it, it just stalls on the first song and does nothing, and then eventually just comes up with an error message. Ive tried it on my friends pc and it works fine so must be a problem with my own pc (windows xp, packard bell laptop)

I cant copy any songs to any playlists within my library

My 5 year old likely did something that I can't find to fix this problem. I cannot copy any songs or an inserted cd into any playlists by highlighting and dragging to the playlist but if I ctrl-click and send to the playlist it will work.

It worked when I quit itunes and did a restart.

Ipod icons shows up on itunes but i cant sync any songs.

there was a corruption with my ipod so i deleted all my songs till there was nothing left in my ipod and when i was done cleaning out my ipod i had to start from scratch updated the latest itunes 7.5 i think and even updated my pod.....the problem is that i ran diagnostics for ipod and the ports show that it connected and i myself see the ipod icon YET i cant sync any songs i have?? can someone please help me i need help and i need someone to give me the steps to fix this.

That is because you are in manual mode and there is no "sync" for manually managed iPods. YOU do the transfer by dragging and dropping songs onto the iPod and remove them by selecting them and deleting them from the iPod.
So if you dragged and dropped tunes from the iTunes library into the iPod list, then the songs should be on your iPod. Check and see.

Cant copy a playlist to ipod

Cant copy a playlist to ipod (classic & others) from latest Itunes 11.0.1.12 Windows XP
Draging and dropping a playlist or even a song from a playlist doesn't bring up the RHS 'transfer Window'
Everything else (eg. songs, albums, even radio) all bring up the window - obviously you copy a radio station but it does, at least, bring up the window pane
Any ideas?

Both Ipods set to "Manually Manage Music". Tried resetting Smaller one.
I can happily transfer a song, an album, even an entire Genre, but nothing Playlist related.

You can get the files off the iPod back onto your PC.

Can not copy any songs or videos from iTunes to iPhone after reinstall Windows 7

I am experiencing trouble with my iPhone. I have to reinstalled my Windows 7 OS due to some trouble. When I reinstalled everything include iTunes back, it can not automatically back up my iPhone to iTunes like it used to. Also, I can not copy any songs and/or videos from iTunes to my iPhone. Fortunately, the application can be restored thanks to the new iTunes version.
Does anyone know how could I restore all my previous services I got before the reinstallation? Help!!

Recently when clicking play on any song the ipod will shuffle through as many songs as there are in the album or playlist until it reaches the end without playing any songs. It also does not go through each song. For example:
a 62 song playlist. I start on song 16. Immediatly the song will shuffle: 16-26-54-62 and then back to the main screen. Also when the songs are shuffling the play button in the top right corner is on.
Music will play if i start from track one with shuffle turned off and repeat turned on. But then i am limited each time to 1-5 songs.
Ipod has been in excellent working order since this has happened.
any suggestions on how to fix?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Help--Cannot import any songs

Hi, if anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it. I upgraded to XP Home from Windows Me so I could transfer music to my ipod, but I have put several audio cds into my drive, and they are supposed to show up in the source list of itunes, but they don't. Nothing happens at all. I am just unable to import any songs, period. I've fiddled around for hours, looking what could be wrong, trying out the troubleshooting tips, but nothing works. Please help!

Macs can't write to NTFS formatted disks without a third-party utility. Paragon's NTFS for Mac works well and it's only $20...

Recently downloaded an album and tried copying it to my ipod and only half the songs copy? I've tried removing all songs and readding them and they still won't copy. In the itunes library under my ipod its saying they're all on there but when i use my ipod out of itunes they don't show up?

So I just upgraded to itunes 5 the other day, last night I bought an album, and when I went to copy it to my ipod, it wouldn't let me. I can copy non-itms stuff to the ipod, just not anything i bought from the itms. Any ideas?

Jenni, so you downloaded the latest firmware and installed it? If you're having trouble doing that, all you need to do is locate the update file on your computer and double click to install.

Can't upload ANY songs to iPod Nano 3rd after upgrwding to 1.0.3 yesterday

Despite the fact that it was touchy from the start uploading songs to this iPod and I had to reset it frequently, since I upgraded yesterday to the new 1.0.3 program for iPod, no go in uploading any songs, no matter if I sync or manually try to transfer songs or checked songs and playlists. It will let me upload podcasts and photos but no songs whatsoever. Does anyone know why or have this problem? Does anyone have the solution?

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. Nano3rdgen Copying playlist from itunes to ipod and it says it can't copy certain songs to ipod cos of file type.These problem songs all from same album, all ACC file type and all copied fine when I copied the album itself few weeks ago-help!

When copying playlist from itunes to nano3rd message comes saying 9 of songs can't be copied to ipod cos of file type. I never laughed in all my life. Here I was, inserting the cd Dance with Me, thinking it's not going to copy the whole thing. yeah, right.
Sure, it prompted me, Do I want to replace the songs, so of course I said "no, don't replace the songs". and guess what it did. It copied the whole cd (at least I got my two songs).
I went into the itunes library, and sure enough, all the songs were there twice. So what did my intelligent brain think of? I just unchecked the doubled songs and stuck my ipod into my computer and it synched up and I got what I wanted.
Now what did I do wrong when it prompted me. I clicked on "don't replace" and it replaced them anyway.
Am I dumb? or is itunes stupid?

ok, i have songs in my itunes but when i'm conecting my ipod ( it's aotumaticly updating( transferring the songs) ) it says:
"songs on the Ipod" ari's iPod" cannot be updates because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
i tried everything, i deleted the songs from the itunes, and put back new ones, i uninstalled my ipod and itunes, i downloaded thenew itunes (7)
nothing helps.. i had my songs and everything, one days it says that i cant update ( it gave me that msg) and suddely it deleted all and icant update nothing from now and own..

hi... actually im a new user...
it like this... i install the latest version of iTunes which is 7.3. for the first time i install n connect the ipod to my computer.. the iTunes will automatice update the song into my ipod... i try to delete it turn out nothing happen....
so i restore my ipod den i try to upload song... it said something cant sync don't what require cd??..why cant the song from my computer sync into my ipod shuffle??...i just dont get it....i already try all the advice from the forum still nothing had change.... i was so scare my ipod will spoil cause i just bought it yesterday..
