Help. cant put a second layer over another without the picture breaking up

Just started happening. On a PC, have plenty of Ram. NVIDIA card. Was working fine, but now whenever I put one video over another the second picture starts breaking up. If I delete thelayer below, the picture is fine again. Any ideas

I will check tomorrow, but it's possible they are different. Has that been known to be an issue?

Normally the phone will choose the strongest signal.

Cant put image on top of another image

Hi,
I'm using keynote 09 with the 'Blueprint' theme. I'm attempting to edit the master slides by putting a company logo in the corner of each slide. This works fine on slides without images, but on slides with images, keynote will not let me put my logo over the image placeholder. The placeholder image always blocks my logo, even when I choose 'Send backward' on the place holder.
Is there a way around this?

Sorry, I was typing fast.
The problem is that you cannot put images above media placeholders on master slides. One suggestion was to make my image (my logo comprised mostly of white text) a media placeholder as well, therefore I could edit the master slide and layer my new media placeholder (logo) above the default-already-existing placeholder (some architectural image in the blueprint theme).
This works but has an additional problem.
Since my logo is white text, I wanted for it to stand out from the picture beneath it. As I sometimes do, I thought I should place my white-text-logo on top of a small black rounded rectangle with transparency (like a cartouche).
I like to do that because it makes my logo legible, while still showing the picture through the transparency. INdeed, this is easy to do if you are only dealing with pictures and shapes (and not the magical placeholder versions of them)
You can make the shape a text placeholder, and you can make the image (logo) a media placeholder, but you can't group the two together as a unit. And if you group them first, then you cannot make your group (shape+image-logo) a placeholder at all, so you then cannot layer it on top of the default image place holders.
I was saying that I'd have to open my logo in photoshop and put it on top of a 'cartouche' and then import that modified image, and THEN make it a media placeholder.
But obviously it would be easier if keynote just let us properly layer elements as you would expect it to work.
I mean, setting images aside, why can't I create a shape and put it in front of a media placeholder without making the shape a text placeholder?
Of course I can edit my logo and add dropshadow or glow to make it stand out, but even then, I would need to make it a placeholder before keynote would let me layer on top of another placeholder. And if I'm going through the trouble of using photoshop to add shadows or glows, I might as well just put the image on top of a cartouche as originally desired.

How do I move from one external drive to another, without the "Relocate Masters" command?

I have my masters referenced on an external hard drive, and I've been mirroring that drive with another so that I have a backup (the volume names were ApertureLib1 for the primary drive and Photo7 for the backup). I've filled that drive, so it will no longer be my primary master drive (i.e. all new masters going forward are going on a new, separate drive). I want to keep one of the two drives online and put the other away as an offsite backup.
The catch is that the primary drive (ApertureLib1) does not place nicely with my Lexar Firewire 400 CF reader; when I insert or eject a card, it has a habit of disconnecting itself. The backup drive (Photo7) does not exhibit this issue. So I decided that I'd just rename Photo7 to ApertureLib1 and be on my way; the folder containing all the masters (PhotoLib) is mirrored by using Arrsync (an rsync GUI), so all the files should be there.
Great theory, except that Aperture does not recognize the renamed Photo7 drive as ApertureLib1, despite the system seeing it as such (both in the Finder sidebar and showing up in /Volumes as "ApertureLib1"). The "locate referenced masters" dialog shows ApertureLib1 as 'offline' and does not give me any opportunity to point to the second drive as the master location.
I assume that Aperture is somehow tracking a separate unique identifier for the drive. Does anyone know what this might be and how I might convince it to treat the was-a-backup drive as being the One, True Location for this set of masters?

I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

How can I blur a selection on a layer (gaussian blur) without the colors/transparency outside the borders of the selection bleeding through?

I am a digital artist, and I switch between programs a lot because sometimes photoshop just doesn't do everything, but I would really like to know if photoshop can help me with this. Is there a way for me to blur a selection without the edges becoming transparent (or color from outside the selection bleeding in). This really bothers me, and my other programs don't have this issue.

Putting an action layer over a layer with a clickTag element

Hello,
I am doing some research on creating clcikTags. I read a few places that the clcikTag should be on the top layer.
That has been fine, but now I want to loop it and I usually put my actions in the top layer. Will this cause a problem? Am I better off just putting my loop action on the last key frame of the clcikTag layer?

Problem with putting shadow on text over another object

I try to give a outer glow effect on text that goes over a white rectangle; in the real case it's an image with a white background. As you can see, the shadow effect does not apply on the parts going over the rectangle. I can't find out which configuration it is that influences this.

I believe the problem here is that the rectangle is filled with the [Paper] swatch. The outer glow you've applied to the text uses the Screen blending mode and will only show against a darker background or no background at all.

Can you expose parts of one layer over another?

I'm trying to have an image in the background of a number in the foreground. The only option I have discovered is the 'move backward' and 'move forward' commands, but of course it only displays either image up to the image frame. Is there away to have the underlying image (grape vine) run underneath the number 2 (I want to color the number but have the vine running up to the edge of the number and begin again on the other side of the number, if that makes sense)? Instead of the post above , try the following:
1. Turn off the visibilty or the background layer
     (click the eye beside the layer in the layers panel)
     (see the white around the "2")
2. Select the magic wand tool and click outside the number "2"
    (this selects the white area outside the number 2)
3. Press the Delete key (deletes the white around the number 2)
4. Ctrl+D deselect
5. Turn the visibility back on for the background layer.
6. Color the number 2 to taste.

I have put 1 piece of music on my movie and it is ok but when I put a second piece on later in the movie I am unable to work with it. Even though I have dropped volume levels for speech it doesn't move. Any ideas ?c

I am using iMovie 11 and have put down a piece of music which is fine. I have done all the adjustments that I needed so far. My problem is that i wish to add another piece of music and whilst I can move it on to the timeline I am unable to control it. I have no adjustments on the track like the earlier piece. Full volume only. Any ideas ?

Thanks for the question. The symptoms you are experiencing can result from an Apple ID address that has been changed prior to signing out of all of the services. Before you change the email address associated with your Apple ID, you’ll want to sign out of all services to avoid this. As a fix, you can temporarily change your Apple ID back to the old address:

Need help putting Photoshop CS6 on new device (without the CD)

So I just recently purchased a new Windows Surface Pro 3 which I've been looking forward to using Photoshop CS6 on. I bought PS CS6 through Journeyed.com a couple years ago and have already registered it to my old laptop. Unfortunately, I misplaced the CD, but I have the box with the product code. I thought I could just do like I did before--download the free trial of CS6 and put in my serial number. Since Adobe now offers "Photoshop CC" instead of CS6, I guess that's what throws it off and stops my serial number from working (i get "invalid code"). I even had to double check what my serial code was through Adobe and my serial number was there, already registered.
I've already tried downloading the free trial of CS6 from other websites but it's been complicated. One of them didn't even work and gave me an error message, and the other was .dmg file so I had to download an app just to unzip the file. I'm just really confused and need help with this. I even tried to put the program files from my laptop onto an external hard drive and put them onto my surface pro, but that got confusing too.

How To Apply Similar Transformation Of One Layer To Another Without Duplicating?

Hey there guys,
This is my first post.
I'm also new to Adobe Photoshop as well . I have a sample 3d eCover and I want to fit an image over the front part. However, I'm having a hard time transformating my image to perfectly the front layer. Is there any option to apply the same transformation of my front cover layer to my image?
Additional infos:
1. The front cover layer of the 3D eCover is not yet merged with the other layers. So, I can still edit it.
2. I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Convert the untransformed image layer (or a duplicate of it) to Smart Object then use Edit > Transform > Distort to align the SO with the sample.
The SO is not necessary but it has several benefits:
Multiple transform sessions will not increasingly degrade the appearance.
Each time you initiate a transform session, handles will be attached to the corners and edges of the SO instead of an axis-aligned bounding rectangle.
It can be a template into which you load alternative images to instantly transform them.

Cant put my music into personal playlists on the Ipod itself???

I have just recieved an Ipod Nano for xmas (YAY!) and was able to (long ago) make up playlists on the actual ipod itself (under device)so i could group all my music the way i wanted...
On this new one all i can do is make playlists under the playlists tab and the music on my actual ipod i cant make separate catagoies for and cant even get onto as its not hightlighted?? Im really confused as previous ipods i have had never had these issues....please help!!!

How to move AE5 from one computer to another without the disc?

I am working for a company that installed Adobe After Effects 5 last year on one Imac machine and we need to move that program to another computer. I believe they downloaded the application. How do I set up my letter template to only have the logo etc on the first page, and to automatically give me a blank page when I get to the second page.

Can I Install Snow Leopard over Tiger, without the Mac Box Set?

I've just spoken to an Apple advisor in Canada and he told me that I could buy the Snow Leopard CD and install it on my MacBook that has Tiger, and I wouldn't need to buy the Mac Box Set. He said that since the Mac Box Set isn't available anymore Apple put the full software on the CD instead of just the upgrade.
However I get a contradictory information on the Apple website.
