HELP: Cant view webpages but can download

edit: nevermind, a router reset solved this

Hi,
I got the free upgrade - option 2
on order tracking it says "in progress"
I can login to steam and download games
or update any programs
I can also ping sites fine
Broadband light is blue on hub
but when i try to view pages in any of my web browsers it loads for ages then i get:
The webpage is not available
Error 101(net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET)
Currently on mobile 3G connection till i can fix this

When I try to go on the internet with my iPad 2, the whole section is greyed out. I can see the webpage, but can not navigate any further.

Try:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset Network Settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

HELP!!!i can download files from the internet but i can not open them,help!

I am running mac os x 10.5 i can download files from the internet but adobe reader 9 keeps telling me they can not decode them,( Adobe Reader could not open 'dap93.exe' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged) (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). help!

Adobe Reader does not open .EXE files, it opens .PDF files. If you were on Windows I would tell you to fix the file association, but I have no idea how to do that on a Mac.

Help: cant view my pictures

ive transfered all my pictures to th iphoto library and then chose delete originals...now i got only ...FRAMES in my library but no pics...the frames have the same size of the pics and even the date and time...but i cant view the pics....this is really frustratin..can somebody help me..maybe i have to change any settings or get an update....

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Try rebuilding the database and thumbnails. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails, then you may have a corrupted database file. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file. If not, then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Can't update apps but can download them; doesn't accept (valid) virtual CC. What to do?

I can download new apps but can't update the existing ones. What happens when I press "Update all" is the following:
App Store asks me for the password, it recognizes it as valid, the icon of the apps change from "Update" to that circle that should eventually fill up, but then all icons convert back to "Update".
I don't have a payment method associated with my account (I used to have one). When I try updating my account with the information of a (valid) virtual CC, it rejects the card even though virtual CCs have worked perfectly well before.
I have this problem both with the iOS App Store and the Mac App Store.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

I often download tv shows on apple tv. All of a sudden I don't have the option to download tv shows but can download movies. Internet connection is good. I simply don't have the search or download options for tv. What is happening?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check your store location is set correctly, if this doesn't help, try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds.

Hi Guys - Can someone please help me confirm that I can download Logic Pro X onto my iMac

Storage - 290 GB free
I think I can download Logic Pro X but would appreciate if someone could concur before I purchase

Your Mac almost meets the minimum requirements for LPX....

The only catch might be your screen size.... but others seem to be able to use such a screen without much issue.. They have to do a little scrolling, in windowed mode, (as they cannot use full screen mode ) to see everything but thats about it. (I personally have never used such a screen so i am relying here on others testimony)
The i3 isn't the world most powerful processor but you will be able to use LPX's freeze and bounce features should you find you tax the processor/memory too much by using too many tracks at the same time....
Its really all down to what you plan to do with LPX and what sort of end results are you looking for...

HELP, CANT VIEW VIDEO DOWNLOADED FROM ITUNES

hi just bought an ipod video, and downloaded a video podcast from itunes, it shows on my ipod in itunes but not on the actual ipod when i disconnect and search for it, also my podcasts are not listed in the podcast list there just listed in the music, any help would be much apprciated.

Help: Macbook backlight off, but can still see webpage, non-reponsive

Ok. Here we go. I bought a used Macbook for my daughter (her first Mac!).
The Macbook was in great physical shape, in fact it looks almost brand new despite being an older 2.0ghz model. Everything has been going great for the past month, until today.
The first issue came when I went and tried to wake the Macbook up from sleep. When I opened the lid, the display was on and all of my pages etc. were still open. However, it was unresponsive to any sort of input. Eventually I had to just force it power down and then restart it.
The second issue (same day), my wife went to use the computer, but discovered that the backlight was off. We could still make out the items being displayed on the screen, but again it was unresponsive. Normally, if the computer is on and the display isn't working, you can usually at least get the capslock button to light up or here the tick sound when you push the volume keys.
I am a bit concerned about this because it is the second time today that the Macbook has become unresponsive. This time when I rebooted it (after forcing it off), the fan came on for about 2 minutes. Then I ran the disk utility, but got nothing abnormal.
The Macbook is way out of warranty, which is why I turned to the discussions forum. Any help of advice would be appreciated!

Need Help, I Pod Can't be read from or written to, but can download music??

I have a 30G IPod. I can add music to my IPod from ITunes (when it recognizes my Ipod, usually have to unplug it once or twice first). But, when I try to change the settings to "manually manage songs and playlist" and/or try to import pictures onto my IPod, it says "The IPod cannot be updated. The disk could not be read to or written to".
I have tried the "5 Rs" and am getting really frustrated. Could someone please shed the light for me?

I am having the same issues and have also tried the 5 Rs. Any time I try to change one of the iPod's settings, I get the disk could not be read or written to error. My music, videos and pictures are all properly syncing, but I cannot enable disk usage.

ok, i visit a site that has a video section. i have always
managed to watch videos on it until we had an update for itunes.
since then i cant watch the videos. we did a system restore to
before the itunes update and all was well again but however, itunes
disappeared so we had to do the system restore again to get itunes
back but now the video issue has returned. we have winXp sp2 and i
am desperate to resolve this issue.
when i go to th site, the player is there but when i click on
the play button it turns yellow and the loading bar only goes half
way along.this is so doing my head in. please can anyone help me.
EDIT..... i noticed last night that the site i visit has the
video page ( that i cant get to work ) but they also have videos in
another section and they work,.......strange. pleeeeese can someone
advise ? i have emailed the site concerned and await their reply.
no-one else that visits the site has this problem.

I also have the same problem about downloading the adobe 8 or
9 and it also don't download the video as well. I as well have this

Role Settings: Viewing Reports, but no downloading or printing

Question for all you admins:
Is it possible in the Role Setup, to allow users to access the reports tab, view /execute reports, but not be able to download or print them?
I know you can change setting on exporting lists, but what about analytics and reports?

Copy the URL of the report that you want to display. Open another report (below which this report is going to be displayed). Go to any one of the report and navigate to Step 2 Create layout, Click the Add View button, and then select Advanced > Narrative.
The prefix section is the place where you can embed the other report. The format for Iframe is

In the URL that you copied, you will find “&Options=rfd” here r refers to refresh, f refers to Print and d refers to download. If you want to restrict the users from printing and downloading, remove f and d from there.
You will also notice that the refresh, print and download options are removed from the first report also. (the moment you use Iframe, no matter what access you give over here, the first report wont have those 3 options)

Cant recive emails but can send

Just downloaded Mozilla thunderbird. Have been through the setup process and my account appers to have connected to the client without any error messages. The problem is I can send emails but not receive them.
I don't really know what I'm talking about but for what its worth:
I am using a IMAP mail server. port 993
I have checked in the firewall settings and there appears to be no mention at all of Mozilla thunderbird.
When I click on the inbox or "get messages" icon nothing happens, it does not appear to attempt to connect to anything
Any help would be fantastic.

please post the account settings information included in the troubleshooting information on the help menu. (copy to clipboard and paste into a reply here on the foruim..) That way we will have some information to verify.
