Help changing my user photo

im trying to change my user photo when i log into my MacBook air. I tagged faces into everyone one of my photos, but when I go to change my photo none of the pictures will show up under faces. It just says that I can go tag faces into my photos? Any help figuring out why they won't show up or how I can change my photo?

Hi Carissalong98,
Happy Holidays!  Is the photo you want to use for your User account on your MacBook in iPhoto or Aperture?  One thing you can try is to drag the photo to your desktop and then drag it from the Finder application to your account settings.  The article below explains to add a picture to your User settings.
OS X Yosemite: Add a user picture
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18896
Your user picture appears next to your name in the login window, and is used by apps such as Mail, Messages, and Contacts. You can choose your own picture.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon  to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Select your user, then click the picture.
Do one of the following:
Use an existing picture: Click a category, then select a picture.
Defaults: Pictures that are included with OS X.
Recents: Pictures that were recently used as user pictures.
My Photo Stream: Pictures from your iPhoto photo stream.
Faces: Faces recognized in iPhoto.
Linked: Picture from Contacts.
You can also drag and drop an image file from the Finder onto the user picture.
Click Done.
Cheers,
Judy

    From System Preferences/Help:
    Add a user picture
Your user picture appears next to your name in the login window if it’s set to display a list of users. Your user picture can also be used by apps such as Mail, Messages, and Contacts.
You can use one of the pictures that comes with OS X, or you can create a custom picture.
HideUse a picture included with OS X
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Users & Groups.Open Users & Groups preferences
Select your user account, and then click the picture.
Click to select the picture you want to use.
    HideCreate a custom picture
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Users & Groups.Open Users & Groups preferences
Select your user account, click the picture, and then click Edit Picture.
    Do one of the following:
To use an image file, click Choose, select the file, and then click Open.
To take a picture with your computer’s built-in camera, click the camera button. After a countdown of three seconds, the camera takes your picture.
Drag the slider to change the size of the picture, and drag the picture to change which part of the image appears.
To save the picture, click Set.

  • Help changing code for photos.

hi, i am a complete novice and have managed to use this code
to load videos into a div on a page, make them invisable, and play
each individual video on a player when clicked on via a picture
link in the same page. It works fine, but now i need to change the
code to do the same thing for showing pictures
here's the code for the vids
obviously i have to change the links to photos, and the image
source, but i need to change something else in the java script to
get it to work. and i don't know the function for images etc.
Please could somebody point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

    Hi Tom J.
If you are intent on mouseover effects for the button, you
are probably in for a fun ride coding some special solution.
Personally, if I want an image for these, I take the
    following approach:
    Insert an image.
Insert the RelatedTopics control and choose "Hidden, for
    scripts"
Note the actual name of the control. Often it is simply
RelatedTopics. But depending on how it was inserted, may be
object1. Just hover the control in your WYSIWYG editor and the name
should pop up in a tooltip.
Select the image and make it a hyperlink. But in the
    hyperlink properties, type
JavaScript:RelatedTopics.Click();. (and if the name differs
from RelatedTopics, use what you saw instead.
This method will make it so your user clicks the image and
    the control activates.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Need help changing Limited User Accounts

Have 100+ ibooks from 500 mhz to 1.2 mhz with ARD 2.2 client checked out to individual students. Eacher comptuer has a Limited account called student with the computer renamed to the actual student. I forgot to deselect the DVD player on my image. Is there a way I can use my ARD administrator software to send a script to deselect the DVD player from the student account?

Never mind I took care of it with: rm -r /applications/dvd\ player.app

  • How to disable my address book card changing my user picture

    So here are the facts:
The Facebook app on my iPhone syncs Facebook friends' contact info (including photos) to my iCloud address book, including my own contact. My user profile on my Mac has been assigned a 'card' in my Address Book, the card being the contact (me) whose photo is synced with Facebook.
I have now discovered that whatever I manually change my user photo to (Prefences > Users and Groups > My username > Photo) is always replaced by my Facebook profile picture, due to iCloud and everything being synced up.
Therefore, the question which I think would solve my problem in the least distruptive way, is:
How do I stop my Mac account being linked to a 'card' in my Address Book?
I could then keep all my contacts photos, including my own, in my address book but still be able to manually set a user photo, as I would like to
Any answers or better work-arounds would be appreciated.

  • Macbook user photo

So basically I changed my user photo by doing the following steps:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Users & Groups.
Select your user account, click the picture, and then click Edit Picture.
To take a picture with your computer’s built-in camera, click the camera button. After a countdown of three seconds, the camera takes your picture.
Does anyone know where I could retrieve the user photo I took in .jpg format, I can't seem to find it anywhere?

You need to do a "clean install": http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823
That'll remove the old plug-in completely.
    Works 99% of the time.

  • Why does the User Photo Keep Changing

I maintain two (2) users on my iMac. One personal and one business. I have separate Address Book cards for each user with different photos. For my business Address Book card, I only have my business name, phone number and  address. For the personal Address Book card, I have all my email addresses, phone numbers and addresses, including both my business address and phone number.
Since I've updated to Mac OS X 10.7.2, I noticed my user photo for my business user continues to default back to the photo used for my personal Address Book card. I've changed the photos for the business user and for the business Address Book card several times but it continues to default to the photo used in my personal Address Book card.
And just one more thing, how do I remove the Recent Pictures for a user?
    Thanks!

Definitely an iCloud issue, I had this problem too but the Address Book fix mentioned elsewhere didn't work.
In the end, I was updating some contacts on my iPhone whilst my Mac was booted into Windows (so only one device active on iCloud) and noticed the rogue bad image was in my own contact on there too, so I set a random photo as my pic in my phone's Contacts and next time I rebooted OSX, lo and behold there it is on my login screen. So I guess every time it was coming back, it was picking it up from iCloud. Bizarre.
Going by that, I would expect the answer would be log everything out except one device (in my case, an iPhone), update that one, log the rest back in and hopefully it'll pick up the new image from the cloud.
Here's to hoping I'm not now stuck as an accidental screenshot of some random text message

Gosh I am already tired of trying to retrieve this photo album and it seems like a waste of time and money spent on an apple IMac.
No disrespect intended but until you learn how iPhoto and Macs work you will continue to be confused and frustrated.
You say you want to create a book in iPhoto and have it printed by Apple, right.  Have you finished creating  the book in iPhoto? If so the Control (right) - click in the View all pages window background and select Save Book as  PDF in the contextual menu?
Open the the PDF file with Preview and check for any errors or problems.  If there are none you can order the book by clicking oin the Buy Book button at the bottom. Save the pdf file to compare with the printed book when it arrives in you feel there's a problem with it.  That's all you need to do.  There's no use of the Finder required.

  • I am getting a message that my iphoto library cannot be opened because I mades changes to my photos in a newer version of iphoto and I need to quit and use the newest version of iPhoto.  but i cannot update it and or access my photos.  Help.  thanks.

I am getting a message that my iphoto library cannot be opened because I mades changes to my photos in a newer version of iphoto and I need to quit and use the newest version of iPhoto.  but in update, it says i have no updates.   i dont even remember making changes in iphoto.Help.  thanks.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I am a hold out to an I Pad.  Help change my mind!  I travel and while gone, for several months at a time, have always managed my photos on my laptop on a daily basis.  This means deletions, naming, filing in folders.  Is this possible on an I Pad?  I have just returned from a 2 month trip with several thousand photos.  If I had waited to name and file these until I got home, it would be misery.

The iPad is a great device but it can't do all things. To accomplish all the tasks you mention I feel a laptop is the best tool.

  • I can't change the Key Photo!  Help!

I have a stack with 2 photos - I've clicked about 100 times on the photo each of the photos and selected - Make Key Photo - and when I collapse the stack, it's still the same key photo on top. Am I missing something? I thought when I selected Make Key Photo, the key photo on top would change.

They key photo has nothing to do with the "pick" of a stack. The left-most (pick) of the stack will be on top.
Forget about the key photo -- that's just what's shown for a project in the "All Projects" view.

  • Clicking on user photo does not log in or display password window

I have a 1-week old MacBook Air w Lion OS which was set up at the Apple Store so I could log on without a password. Doing so brought me immediately to my Desktop.  After installing MS Office via download, at the next boot up I got a grey screen with options to log on as me (my photo) or guest.  I was able to log on by using my Apple password but then Keychain started asking for a password for every app.  I was able to blow by those prompts by sometimes entering a password and sometimes just pressing Enter. Tried to change settings back so I would not need password.  Can't remember what I changed but now when I click on my user photo at the logon screen nothing happens.  Tried booting to Recovery and ran Repair Disk Permissions.  No luck. I am new to Apple and don't know what to try next.  Can you help me?

Apple support is wonderful!  The fix took a while but I was able to boot up with Shift key and make changes as directed that restored my auto logon.  Downloading Lion update now which is supposed to fix the Keychain problem.  If anyone else has this problem - here is the Case # for reference -
