HELP! Clicked format...now everything is gone!!!

I connected my blackberry curve 9360 device to the computer to get the new 7.1 software for blackberry. First I got app error 200 on my phone screen, then when that got fixed, my phone was completely wiped. It then said my media card has errors on it and repairing has failed, so I went to settings and accidentally clicked format media card. Now everything is GONE, but the phone and apps like whatsapp are still working...
Does anyone know how I can get all of my data back that was on my media card before I formatted it?

Hey Eclipse96,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Do you have a full backup of your data including the media card saved on the computer?  If not, then the data can not be retreived.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

    Welcome To  Discussions workingmom!
In Hard Drive > Users: is there more than just your Home folder displayed?
Possibly one you are not familiar with?
Other than this issue, is the system functioning properly?
What size is the Hard Drive, and how much space is available?
    Have you run Repair Disk?
THESE ARE THE STEPS FOR USING DISK UTILITY TO REPAIR YOUR HD
1.Insert the System Install disk, Mac OS X CD-ROM disk, or Restore DVD disk, then restart the computer while holding the C key. Use the System disk, of the OS, that is currently installed.
2.Once started up from CD or DVD, on the Menubar at the top of the screen, choose Disk Utility from the Installer contextual menu.
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from disc to access Disk Utility.
    3.Click the First Aid tab.
4.Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5.Select your Mac OS X volume, if necessary.
6.Click Repair. If DU reports errors it has fixed, re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported.
7.Repeat steps 5 & 6, but select the Hard Drive this time. It's usually the first listed with the manufacturer's model number. Make note of the S.M.A.R.T. status.
8.When finished, select Quit Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
9.Select Quit Installer from the Installer menu.
10.In the resulting pop-up window, choose restart.
11.After the computer has restarted, you can eject the CD.

  • Help! I followed Facetime directions, and now everything is gone!

I downloaded Facetime, and it would not launch correctly.
I went on the MAC support communities and read that I needed to move the facetime folder into the Launch Agents Folder.
There wasnt anything in there, besides a GoPro folder. So I did, and Facetime worked fine. However, when I attempted to use my computer today, everything is gone off the desktop, and I can't get in to the HD (its gone for the desktop too) to undo what I had done.
Total novice here, understand that! But I need youre help.
    thank you in advance!

In addition, I cant minimize anything because there is no place for it to go on the screen.

  • Music files online...why can't I click & listern now I've gone mac

I am very new to macs, have swapped as am studying design ...when I had my pc I could click a music files for example on a radio stations website when looking for music ( like kiss totalkiss.com ) I could click and listern to their playlists...now I've gone mac nothing will play!!! I have quicktime and use i-tunes, but can't seem to open or listern to certain files now!! Do I need to download or buy something else or are somethings just not going to work on a mac???

    hi louiewoo,
it all depends on which audio file format you are trying to listen. for exemple, some audio formats are Microsoft proprietary and may not play without the proper QuickTime plugins.
I don't know about the file streaming you are trying to listen, but the most frequent are WMV. if they are, you should try to download the free plugin from Flip4Mac (http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm).

  • Upgraded Iphone now everything is gone

I upgraded from an Iphone 4 to a Iphone 5c. When i got it in the mail i plugged it in and followed all the instructions now all my contacts, settings, everything is gone. The apps are still there but i have to reinstall all of them.

    jckinnick wrote:
Yeah i think so it would automatically update when i plug it into my computer.
I am guessing "it" means the iPhone 4.  No, it does not automatically update iOS.  You would have to click "Check for Updates" on the iPhone's summary page to have done that.
Since you did what xice recommended above and did not find a backup of the iPhone 4 in iTunes, the only other slight possibility is that you had set up iCloud backups and did one there.  You can check that on your iPhone 4 in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup ... if you ever did set up an iCloud account.  I suspect it's more likely that you would win a lottery than have an iCloud backup, but that is your last hope of retrieving iPhone 4 data.

  • I synced my phone now everything is gone

help! i synced my iphone now everything EVERYTHING is gone! is there a way to retrieve all my contacts photos and apps?

All of those things should be on your computer. You can just sync them back.
Contacts and Camera Roll photos (taken with iphone) are included in the backup that itunes performs when syncing.
You may be able to restore from a prior backup and get some of the info back.
Unlike music, you can redownload apps for free.

  • Updated to 2.0 & changed password - now everything is gone

This is an appeal for advice to my tech savy friends: My blackberry playbook was full of pictures, voicenotes, podcasts, apps, whathaveyou - i was attempting to download pictures onto my computer - flailing at it - I managed to do it once before & am not sure how. I hook it up w/ a USB cable then open blackberry desktop on my PC & then become confused - anyway i was doing this when the device says it wants my username & password - but it wont accept anything as the correct username & password - so i go to the blackberry website to change my password - done - the device asks me if i want to upgrade to playbook 2.0 - OK i say - when it reboots everything is gone - pictures, documents, home movies - everything. I go back to the website for help. Give us your serial # it says - i do so - you don't qualify for help it says but you can purchase assistance by calling this # & giving us you credit card #. ?! i say - so i am asking if anyone else has had a similar problem or knows what i might do to rectify the problem.

your BlackBerry ID and the device password are two different things
Did you have a password on the playbook?
Do you have a backup of your files?
You do get 90 days of free support if you register when you buy the playbook. Warranty suppor tis free though but this is not a warranty issue from what I can see.
Desktop manager did have an issue that f it did not detect the playbook it would upgrade the OS to factory. This was supposed to be fixed in latest version and give warning. I did the same on mine but did have a backup of all files.
I would suggest backing up any electronic device before doing any upgrade and back them up once a week if you added a significant amount of data.

  • Kernel Panic while backing up with Time Machine - now everything is GONE!

I got a kernel panic while i tried to back up with Time Machine....when i shut down the computer, and restarted it (with the external still plugged in, and on), it came up with an error message that said
"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer."
And my three options were to "Initialize...", "Ignore", or "Eject"...
I didn't hit either of those buttons, i was trying to contact apple for support only to find out that i am just a week past my minimum 90 day telephone support, so i am trying to scrape up enough to order the APP immediately.
However, in the meantime, everything on my external harddrive is gone...Disk Utility doesn't even see that there was once a Partition on that drive, and thus, it is not showing up on my desktop, and there is no information to be recovered...everything is gone.
This is kind of ironic because i was just reading an article about how people are losing their info on their User account after having the Guest Accounts enabled....logged into guest, and back out of guest...
I am a part of one of those statistics because i do NOT have the Guest account enabled at all...
Can anybody else help me with this?

where can i find the panic.log?
I did a spotlight search with no results.
    I checked /Library/Logs, and didn't see a panic.log
I also checked ~/Library/Logs and didn't find a panic.log either....i was unable to find anything related to a kernel panic log, or anything.
Could you point me in the right direction for this please? Could it be that i had a kernal panic, and it did not record the log?
So what can i do to correct this?
Disk Warrior didn't detect the drive, and zapping the PRAM didn't correct it either.
I keep getting the error message i posted previously.
I even tried to plug the drive into my old 15" PowerBook G4 running 10.4 tiger to see if i could see the drive appear on the desktop, and i also got the same error there as well.
If i go into Disk Utility, into Partition, i have to create a Partition. There is absolutely nothing on the drive at all. Everything is gone because of a kernal panic - which happened when i was trying to use Time Machine to back up the drive.
I'm 1/2 afraid to do anything at the moment because i want to figure out what happened to the data i lost on my Time Machine backup drive, and how to get it back...at the same time, i'm afraid of losing all my information on my computer as well since people are having issues with the so called Guest Account issue that wipes everybody's user account's information.
Is there another scenario for this, could it be not just Guest Accounts deleting a users home folder, but also kernal panics related to Time Machine, which end up erasing your entire Time Machine backup drive too?
Apple really needs a fix for this and should somehow reward us with something for the unprofessionalism in their own technology.

  • I really messed things up. Changed username and now everything is gone.

You know when you open the finder and you have a list of icons in the sidebar there? I had Desktop, ted (with a little house next to it), Applications, Documents, etc...
I wanted to change "ted" to say "Main". I did this. I now realize that it was a huge mistake. Everything is gone - all my bookmarks, everything. I keep getting an error about not having a "keychain" as well. My firefox doesn't work at all. I don't know what to do - it won't let me change it back to "ted". I'm just sitting here in tears.
Is there a way to go back?

    Great sleuthing on your part!
And a warm welcome to the forums Carrie... keep up the good work.

  • I bought a used ipod touch. The music on it was not my taste.  I found a delete feature and now EVERYTHING is gone. No icons. Nothing.  How do I get it back?

I bought a used ipod touch.  The music on it was not my taste.  I found a delete feature and EVERYTHING is gone.  How do I get the icons back and start over?

If you did not yet connect with iTunes, you can place any music from your library back into your iPod from the computer. When set to automatically manage usic and videos, whatever iTunes finds changed in your music app will be reset to what is on your computer iTunes library.

  • Downloaded Itunes 8.0 and now everything is gone

I downloaded the new 8.0 and when I went to listen to a song everything was gone. All of my songs, tv shows, games, etc... were gone. How do I get it back?

See if the steps in this article provide any relief:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967
If you're still missing your songs, see if you can restore from a backup if you have one. If you don't have a backup, you might be able to recover the items from an iPod or iPhone if you have one.
    - See this document for recovering purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
    - See this post for software to recover non-iTunes store purchases: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8209921&#8209921
If you never created a backup of your items, and you don't have them on an iPod or iPhone, you can email iTunes Store customer service and ask to download the items again. Bear in mind that the iTunes user agreement entitles you to one download per purchase, so, for future reference, it's your responsibility to backup your purchases, as they do have value.

  • Woke up to OS X Utilities window with 4 options. Tried repairing discs, and ended up re-installing the OS and now everything is gone. Please help.

Woke up to OS X Utilities window up on my screen with 4 options. One was backup from Time Machine, another was to re-install the OS, the third was to open Safari for help, and the last was to repair discs. I tried repairing all of the discs including the two external hard drives I had attached and it said that they were all good. Then I proceeded to re-install the OS, but it would only allow me to install Mavericks and I had already upgraded to Yosemite. I tried restarting with a safe boot and it got stuck half way for more than an hour, so I just did a hard restart. Without a recent Time Machine backup, I decided to try re-installing the OS. The funny thing is that it would only let me install it on my external HD and not the internal HD - and there was a message saying that a newer OS was on the internal HD and so it could not be installed there. So after it was installed, it started up like it was a brand new mac - asking me for my apple ID, wifi, etc. And now I have nothing on the computer - no programs, files, anything. And the Macintosh HD showed up in the finder, but it ejected itself and is no longer viewable. Any ideas on how I can get this back to normal??? I am pretty desperate at this point.

Thanks! My trackpad has been broken for a while and physical clicks no longer work, only taps. I plugged in a mouse and it worked.
Doesn't seem like good design to me.

  • MacBook was frozen so I hit control, command, power and now everything is gone other than the start button.  Can anyone help?

The sceen is now blue.  The dock, all applications and every icon on the screen is gone.  What remains is the apple start button and the drop down menus of whatever application I choose as "recent items" from the start menu.
I've tried to restart but it opens back to this.
    Thanks.

I restarted holding down the D key and it rebooted with everything.  Yippee!
