HELP - Clueless BWA hardware partner - can't install pre-sales system

Hi dear BWA fellows,
am posting this on behalf of Hewlett-Packard ... we're trying to pilot BWA and BO Explorer and to my surprise we did not yet fully pass away just yet when hearing about the price tag.
But we just might - if the mandated hardware "partner" for the proprietary hardware infrastructure doesn't manage to install a small trial environment within the next few weeks ...
Rescue us from flatlining in the emergency room of BI marketing nirvana ... please assist HP Asia-Pacific to simply install a base BW image onto one or two HP blades ...
Thanks in advance (also on behalf of SAP who are not allowed to install the trial system because of the installation guide they wrote).
Andre.

Hi Andre,
any update? How did this play out?
Regards,
Marc

A redemption code can only be redeemed once.  It is used to acquire a serial number. The serial number is what you need to activate the installed software.  If you did not keep the serial number when you first installed, you might still be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the software.

  • Can I install clone of system on same HD as Time Machine for a repair boot drive?

Can I install clone of system on same HD as Time Machine so I can use the external as a second boot?
I have an external connected to new iMac and installed Time Machine on it. I then realized that I cannot boot from TM so can I clone my system onto the same HD as the TM is on? For purpose of rebooting so I can use Disk Warrior or other diagnostics?
    Thanks.
    Jeff

I did try that but the only options I was ofered were:
    Restore from Time Machine Backup
    Reinstall OS X
    Get Help Online
    Disk Utility
I didn't want any of those options. I just wanted to boot from the external.
You used recovery option - that is not what you need for this. Follow lowluster's suggestion to create another partition on your external drive, then format it using Disk Utility if necessary (in your applications folder). After that, use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to create a bootable clone on the external while booted from the internal.
Didn't know TM was to be installed on internal boot. Thanks.
Isn't there an advantage to having it on an external as well?
Time Machine is an application program and installed on your internal by default. You activate it from there and it works on its own to create backups on an external drive. It backs up everything.

Can I install Windows 7 System Builder Addition on a MacBook Pro?

    rmsmac,
do you mean Addition, or Edition? Is it a 32-bit version of Windows 7, or a 64-bit version of Windows 7?
Why don’t you give it a try, and report back on whether you’re able to or not?

  • Please help!!! I can't install CS4 Trial...

I followed the instructions to a T and when I click on the PS symbal that says setup, it won't do nothing. I tried it on my laptop but it won't work on my sons computer for him to try out the software.
    Anyone have any other suggestions?
By the way, I am not running a 64 bit computer so I think I am safe. My sons computer is a about 5 yrs old.
    Thanks a million,
    Melissa

    Some discussion here:

If it helped you, it may help others. I didn't make the request and ask the questions I did for myselfI'm a Maccer and have no plans to upgrade from PS CS2 any time soon.
That said, though, the problem you stated, and the info you gave, the solution that worked for you...after reading this thread several times, I can't help but feel that there have to be some important details that have been left out. What they are I have no clue about.
But getting from "Can't Install a trial version" to "I fixed it by running a script"one that, on the surface, doesn't even seem to be meant to address the problem you were havinghas left me scratching my head. The "DropletFixer.vbs" script was created before PS CS4 was even released.
But, hey...if it worked, it worked!

  • How can I install on a system w/RAID?

I know now that Boot Camp will not install on a system with RAID (in my case mirrored drives). THis is a major bummer as I need to run an engineering program and it only operates in Windows. So I either stick to my less than optimal laptop or I figure a way to use the power of my desktop.
So any suggestions? Can I somehow use an external drive and install boot camp and WinXP there? What if I converted one set of mirrored drives to two separate drives (with an external backup system) and leave one set of mirrored drives (I have two sets of mirrored drives) and install boot camp there? Am I talking about a complete redo of my system?
I need a straight forward solution (and no I don't want to buy a PC to run the software). Also the engineering software will not run in Parallels - it needs full access to the Video system (in my case a Quadro FX4500).
    THanks for any suggestions.

It isn't a problem. I assume also that you don't have the Apple Pro RAID card, and that you have one drive bay that you can install Windows.
All you need to do is open Disk Utility, format a internal SATA drive as MBR and then create one or more FAT partitions. You can change FAT to NTFS later.
Then choose the OS of your choice (XP Pro x64 drivers aren't included or well supported, so I'd go with Vista x64 Business or Ultimate SP1).
No external booting. At least not without a bootable PCIe controller. There are RocketRAID cards that do support RAID in Windows but haven't tried creating bootable Windows. Maybe next week.
With a new raw unformatted drive, all you have to do is boot from Windows and select the drive.
You can also use the ODD ports to use for OS X for two of your drives because Windows can't see or use them.

  • Hello, I have a MacBook Pro from 2011 and I accidentally while playing around with it deleted everything off my hard drive and I need to know how I can re install an operating system. Would I have to download it.

    Someone please help me
I'm not sure what I should do to re install an operating system would it be possible to install mavericks
I don't have the operating system backed up

That's not good. OS X Recovery requires a high speed broadband connection as noted here > About OS X Recovery

  • Help....  can't install itune 6....!!!!

during my installation, there is Error pop up..!
    "internal error 2356. data1.cab"
hmm anyone know how to fix this problem?
    please help...
    thanks

    hi horsebag!
drat. if we're getting a strange error like that from a CD or online install, often doing a "local" install helps.
the error is not well documented (i'm not sure i've seen one before on an itunes install). but we've had success with these rarer sorts of errors in the past by using the general installation advice from this document:
Troubleshooting iTunes, iPod Software, and QuickTime installation on Windows
... augmented by the InstallShield Tips and Pointers:
InstallShield Consumer Central Frequently Asked Questions: Tips and Pointers
an error message mentioning a .cab file can be Windows-Installer-related, so let's also try method 1 from this document:
How to resolve Common "Windows Installer" Problems
keep us posted. (there's a few other things which have worked for other cab-related error messages that we can try if we get no joy with these.)

    Thanks in advance

Yeah, I had the same problem!
And The Wiki helped me http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/WinHang
Even my Firewall had the function "Disabled Mode", I needed to fully stop all the services of Antivirus and Firewall. After that i deleted the "productregistr*" file and ran installation from the console.
And it was the only right way to install!
    Now enjoying =)

  • HELP!!! I can't install and erase apps on my N82 (...

Hi! I need help! I updated phone software on my NOKIA N82 V 20.0.062 RM-313 and now upon install or erase appears "file corrupted" on every file i try to install or erase on my N82! I have 2times reset phone (*#7370# & reinstall software), format micro SD card but doesn't resolve problem! Sorry for my bad english Thanks beforehand!!!

firmware updates are uninstallable, "it's a one way process". my advice is to:
1- back up your messages and phone book only " don't make a full back up as restoring this might bring the problem back.
2- back up your memory card by copying and pasting your photos , songs and other user files to the computer, and format the memory card.
    3- reinstall the firmware again.
4- restore your partial back up.
5-restore your user files to formatted memorycard.
6- reinstall your applications one by one.
the whole idea is to try to install apps on a clean phone registery.restoring backedup apps usually restores a corrupted registery to the phone.

  • I can't install any windows systeme in my notebook

    hi every one .
i want to install xp in my notebook 3000 N200 but in the step to chose the partition where the systeme will be setup a message indicate to me that there no avaible place in the hard disk or there no hd .
    please help me . thanks

    Hi Neom,
I had the same problem when I wanted to install xp on my 3000 n200 0769-brg. You need to give the windows install the driver for the sata drive during installation. As far as I am aware there are two workarounds to this.
    1.  (this is what I did -  you need your original xp cd install disk and access to another  machine with internet and a cd burner).
Useing a program called "nlite" (see google), you can re compile your xp install disk to incorporate the missing sata driver:
nlite can copy your install disk to a folder of your choice on another machine - you then tell it where the EXTRACTED sata driver is and it can build it into an image which you burn onto a blank cd for use instead of your existing win xp install cd.
    2. because these laptops have no floppy drive you would need to borrow a usb floppy drive and have the extracted driver on a floppy when booting from your original xp install cd - as it loads it says "press f6 to install a third party or raid driver"
I have not tried option 2 as I didn't have access to a usb floppy drive so don't know whether the bios would recognize the floppy drive. In theory it should work. But hey who knows.
If you need a hand with nlite pm me and I will send you some screenshots of what to do.
    Hope theis helps
    Regards
    Rob

  • Can I install new operating system without wiping out all of my programs- some of which were free

Can I upgrade my OS without clearing out all programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Office, etc as well as all files that I do not want to lose because many of the programs were free and do not have portable storage drive?

You can upgrade the OS without clearing out your programs or files, however that's no guaranty that those programs will continue to work in the new OS.
And if you plan to jump over operating systems, like going from 10.4 to 10.6 or 10.5 to 10.7 that that will require wiping the drive of all programs and installing the new OS fresh.
So perhaps you better start by telling us some details about your present hardware specifications, your computer model (like MacBook Pro 3,1) your OS X version, your RAM amount, your hard drive size, software you absolutely need, others that you can perhaps do without, and what and where you want to go etc. Also if you want to spend money and how much.
You can find out about your machine by Apple Menu>About this Mac>More information.
Your question is rather lacking on details, and people don't update their signatures so we can't go by that.

  • B540 can't install any operating system ?

Hi ALL, it’s great to know there is a place to get help…. I hope
I’ve just bought a B540 from a friend. I’ve checked on this site as he said it’s still under warranty, and the serial confirms it. I don’t quite know if it applies to my problem and a way to somehow get it up and running again, so maybe/hopefully someone could help me ?
So as said, I’ve just got my B540 and believe it or not, the hard disk has screwed up, while up-grading to windows 8. It basically tries to recover the windows operating system over and over again. I’ve opened a Dos windows and tried to look at the Hard drive but can’t see anything on it, all I can see is Drive X which looks like a temp directory windows makes to install.
Every time I try to recover windows 7 or 8 it simply starts, then says there’s a problem so windows has to recover ! Then goes into recovery mode and loops over and over again ?
Can someone advise on what I’ve done and find a way to bring her back to life….  PLEASE

Well Windows 8 was a Crash Bang Wallop !!! It just wouldn't install it, either the New Install, or the up-grade route !
Windows 7 has worked as it should on the B540 and everything was going very well, until I installed an up-grade from Microsoft and after a re-boot ... No Operating system found ?
So I'm back to square one...
I'm hoping the warranty is transferable ?
