  • What is com.apple.WebKit.Plugin.64 and how do I close it to install Flash Player?

I am trying to update my Flash Player.  During the install process it says I need to close the following program:  com.apple.WebKit.Plugin.64  I have no idea what this is or how to close it.  I am running Safari 8.0.2 in OS X Yosemite.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

i too was trying to update adobe and it kept stopping, saying i needed to close
com.apple.webkit.plugin.64. but i had no idea where that was.  so i opened the activity monitor and found it.  it said it was opened in safari, under our guest account.  i had closed safari under my user name, but didn't realize it was still opened under our guest acct.  once i closed it there, i retried the installation, and i am happy to report it finished it with ease.
so i would say to try and make sure safari is closed for all account users using your computer!!
    good luck!!

  • Com.apple.WebKit deny mach-per-user-lookup

    Hi all
My console log is full of these:
    PM kernel: Sandbox: com.apple.WebKit (####) deny mach-per-user-lookup
Anyone have any idea what this means and should something be done about it?
    Thanks

As do I.  I can see that there is the usual overwhelming response to a problem.

  • [time] com.apple.WebKit.PluginAgent[PID]  Debugger() was called!

While using Safari, the browser slows down. When I check the console, I find repeated lines (tens) displaying a message like the one below (generated from this session):
    September 8 Tuesday - Sep 8, 2009 - 4:40:04 PM com.apple.WebKit.PluginAgent[1688] Debugger() was called!
    Any ideas?

    Me too! No idea why.

  • Prevent com.apple.WebKit.WebContent to grab keyboard focus

When I run XQartz based applications (org.macosforge.xquartz.X11), the com.apple.WebKit.WebContent running for every Tab of Safari steals away the keyboard focus every so often. This interrupts the workflow and is very annoying.
When using Google Chrome or Firefox this does not happen.
Does anybody know how to prevent this with Safari (7.0.3 OSX 10.9.2)?

Do you have the Develop menu enabled?
If so, click Develop from the Safari menu bar.
In the drop down menu, if anything is ✔, click once to deselet then quit and relaunch Safari.

    issue to be concerned about?
    thanks

Go step by step and test.
    1. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    2. Delete Cookies
Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Click “Remove All Website Data”.
    3. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.
Turn on those one by one and test.

  • Com.apple.webkit.webcontent gva warning

Seeing tons of entries in messages log for com.apple.WebKit.WebContent[1421]: GVA warning: oold enabled for 1440x704 and num_ref_frames = 1, force to 0, several times each second.  I've not been able to find anything online pointing me where to look, not sure where to even start with this.  Using a MBPr late '13, 2.3GHz i7, 16GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB, OS X 10.10.

None that I can specify, other than the 10 log entries per second.  I have experienced unusual issues, but nothing that I could tie to this.

  • Com.apple.iconservice agent problems mavericks

the com.apple.IconServicesAgent process goes over 99% CPU and blocks Finder operations
killing the process with the Activity Monitor things go back to normal
what else could i do to slve this problem?

I discovered it's some app start on login related...
probably all of us had upgraded OS X Maverick, not a clean installed one.
    Can you confirm us?
The IconServicesAgent is now using only 21.4MB of memory after I disabled some apps from "Login Itens"
    - KeyRemap4MacBook
    - Moon
I opened both apps now and the resources is the same 21.4MB, without changes.
    ##### TESTED
    Yes, it works for me.
Go to Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Itens
Note and disable some apps: select with cursor and click on "-"
Reboot and look at Activity Monitor if the procedure was successful.
Open the app you disabled from startup and look if it changes the memory/cpu usage.

  • Com.apple.WebKit.PluginAgentDebugger() was called!

Getting messages like that in the subject more than once a minute. The PID matches that of the WebKitPluginAgent process.
So, what's this mean. Haven't seen a particular problem (occasional safari at 100% cpu, but I don't think that is related). Still, if the message is important to log so often, perhaps something isn't right. An indication of a problem with one of my plugins? Or, expected?

    Hi,
In your Safari Menu Bar do you have Develop in the Menu between Bookmarks and Window?
You may have turned something on there.

  • Process:         com.apple.WebKit.WebContent [351] Path:            /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/WebKit2.framework/Versions/A/XPCService s/com.apple.WebKit.WebContent.xpc/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.WebKit.WebContent Identifier:      com.apple.Web

I keep receiving the following error while in Safari & it shuts down. Does anyone have any advice on how I can fix this?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • How to find help for Apple Mail password problem -- using CLEAR/Verizon

I've established an alias e-mail address through Apple Mail.  I've lost the password.  Apple "Help" tells me to ask internet provider.  But I only have a cell phone so Verizon doesn't allow me to ask my question.  I use CLEAR to connect through Verizon.
This is confusing.  I don't know where to go with this issue.

What is the domain for the email address? You need to get help from the email provider.

  • Com.apple.safari.plist missing in preferences folder

    Hey everybody,
my safari has become unusably slow. I checked for solutions and found out I should delete the com.apple.safari.plist. So I browsed my preferences folder in the library for the file and could not find it. I checked my whole Library for any Safari related file and there was none.
Has anyone an explanation for this? I already reinstalled the OS which didn't change a thing.
I hope anybody can help me please
I am using a mid 2012 rmbp with 8gb ram, which has become a little laggy in general since the yosemite in update

Unfortunately, deleting the com.apple.safari.plist didn't solve my original problem. Safari is still so superslow sometimes. And then its fast again. But Chrome is always faster and immediately responding. I've run a test with Etresoft:

  • Mail Can't Open & com.apple.internetaccount process hogging 100% CPU

Desperately seeking answers after Mavericks install..
My mail crashed and now won't open at all. I've tried most (if not all) the suggestions posted by others.  Haven't tried deleting and reinstalling mail yet, as this will be my last resort since I have a work account in it that is not on IMAP.
And another troubling issue is my macbook's fan is going crazy and feels like its overheating.
Looking at "Activity Monitor" I see a process "com.apple.internetaccounts" that is taking 100% CPU and 1.6GB of memory!!
No idea what this process is and can't seem to quit it.
    PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks in advance

@Drewli77 yup that's it. When Mail opened I chose Google/Gmail and let Mail set the account up for me.
Before doing that I had noticed com.apple.internetaccounts hogging the CPU. I went into System Preferences > Internet Accounts, waited 10 minutes for the spinning ball to stop, then deleted the Google account in there. There was only one Google account in there, despite the fact that I have four Google accounts set up in Mac Mail. Anyway this one account seemed to be what was slowing down that preference pane. After deleting Accounts.plist I re-added my accounts in Mail, which added them to the Internet Accounts preference pane, but now that preference pane (and Mail) open just fine without hogging resources.
What annoys me is the fact that hitting Delete on a message sends it to Trash, which in Mavericks corresponds to Gmail's Trash, meaning it gets purged every month (regardless of the setting you choose in Mac Mail). I've been using Option-Delete to Archive it, but I wish I could just use Delete for that, since I always Archive and rarely Trash messages. I would set another folder to be used for Trash, but sadly, all of the options under Mailbox > "Use this mailbox for" are greyed out.
