HELP Compter Crashing when trying to download CDs to Itunes
Have recently gotten an IPOD nano 2nd generation. Have been TRYING to download CDs onto Itunes to load into it. For some reason my computer keeps shutting down in the middle of the process. I also had music stored in other files(windows music media & music match) which I've tried to transfer over to Itunes. It transferred some but not all. All of the music was either ligitimatly bought or from commercial CDs. Anyone have a clue what's going on??? Thanks

If apps are popping up that need an update and it is the "friend's" Apple ID, those are apps that he downloaded to your iPad.
Anyway...Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Tap the ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID.

Firefox crashes when trying to download files - suggested solutions have failed to help
Every time I try to download a file, the moment I select 'save file' and click 'ok', Firefox crashes. Once I restart, I receive a message that the file has completed downloading, and it's always in the designated download folder. However, the crashes are making it terribly inconvenient to download. This problem was occurring while I was on Firefox 3.6, and has continued now that I've updated to Firefox 4. Since updating, I have tried all of the solutions offered in the help articles 'Firefrox crashes when trying to download a file' and 'Unable to download or save files'. None of these solutions have helped.
Crash ID is listed below, and just in case it's important, here is the signature: hang | mozilla::plugins::PPluginInstanceParent::CallNPP_HandleEvent(mozilla::plugins::NPRemoteEvent const&, short*)See both [[firefox crashes]] and [[firefox hangs]] please provide Crash IDs if you are getting crashes.
Note also that firefox 10 upgrades were suspended,and Firefox 10.0.1 is now coming out. One of the problems that will fix is hangs relating to java use; that may turn out to be the problem you have.
I suggest you keep your eyes on [[latest firefox issues]] which hopefully will be updated shortly.

8008 Error when trying to download movies from iTunes
I've searched Google and the discussion boards but no one seems to have a fix for the 8008 error when trying to download movies in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes, my Mac Mini is up to date with all of it's patches, I've tried deleting the movie in the download folder and redownload the movie but I still get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?

These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

Hi, Need help. I am trying to download the latest iTunes for Windows application but on running the program it says that it can not be completed as it can not find the folder location of the file "iTunes.msi" . Any clues would be appreciated
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

When Trying to download applications from the itunes store, I receive a message that my Apple Id has been disabled. I reset my password, accessed my Itunes Account successfully, but when trying to download, the same message appears.
You need to contact Apple Support, particularly iTunes Store support team. Cheers!

Safari crashes when trying to download
I'm running Safari 3.0.4 on my PowerBook G4 running OS 10.4.11. Every time I try to download a file it crashes. Otherwise it seems to be running fine.
The only 3rd party plug-in I'm using is Safari Stand. I'm using the latest version of it and I'm using it directly, not through SIMBL. Also, when I removed Safari Stand it still did the same thing -- crashed when I was trying to download an application file -- so I don't think Safari Stand is the problem.
Anyone have suggestions on how to solve this? I keep wanting to use Safari, but I continue to have this problem and so I'm back to Camino again.
Thanks much.OK, I still have the download problem. Here's what I've done:
1) I downloaded Safari 3.1 from Apple's website.
2) Before installing it, I checked for any other programs I may have had on the computer related to Safari, and I found Safari Enhancer, which I must have used on an earlier version of Safari. Using Application Zapper, I got rid of that program.
3) I also used Application Zapper to get rid of any incidences of SIMBL that I might have installed on the computer, and found a couple in places where they shouldn't have been. Those went away, too.
4) I updated Chax.
5) I installed Safari 3.1, restarted the computer.
6) I installed SIMBL, reinstalled Safari Stand in the SMBL Plugins folder in /library/application support/SIMBL.
7) I restarted Safari and tried to download a widget.
It crashed
Here's the crash report. Also, question: is it possible that there is some configuration file for Safari that got modified by Safari Enhancer that's causing the problem? If so, how do I find it? Or, should I use Application Zapper to get rid of Safari entirely and start from scratch, installing Safari 3.1 as a "virgin" application rather than as an update to an existing one?

Please help, Iphoto crashes when trying to update my iphoto library
i recently upgraded my operating system to Lion OS x 10.7.3, and I bought the IPhoto 11' (9.2.1) from the app store. Now it crashes when I try to open after telling me it needs to update my library (version 8.1.2). It starts updating, but then crashes. I have tried rebuilding my library with IPhoto Library Manager, so I can get the program to work with this, but it also crashes in the attempt to rebuild. I can open the program with an empty library, but then I can't get to my old photos. I have also reinstalled Iphoto, without this helping. And I have tried to find these "receipts", and have deleted these. I also have deleted the QuickTime 7, which I still had, and I'm now only running the QuickTime Player 10.1. My imac keeps crashing when trying to download logic pro from the app store
Hi guys i was hoping that you could shed some light on a few probs ive been having with the App store.
just tried to download logic pro on my imac which is running the latest version of mountain loin and it keeps crashing my mac out and restarting. im a little bit peeved as just spent over £100 on this programe.

The Logic Pro app is crashing?
Try deleting the app using this free utility > Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
That will remove all the associated files not just the app itself.
Then re download the app.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. -

XP in Boot Camp crashes when trying to download from Internet
My XP in Boot Camp crashes when I try to download a program off the Internet. When I am downloading a certain program, after a few minutes the computer screen shows a bunch of numbers and letters then ends up re-booting. Any ideas/suggestions?
I would say this looks like a hardware problem. Do you have problems back in Mac OS X? If so it may be time to take your computer to an Apple Store or some other place to have it checked.

HT203175 keep getting error code 81 when trying to import cds into itunes
since installing itunes 11 i keep getting a error message which says an unkown error occurred (81) when trying to impoprt cd's
any ideas as to why would be helpful thanks.That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Now restart your iPad. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Computer freezes when trying to burn cds with itunes
I don't know if this would help other people with issues related to burning cds with itunes but here it goes:
My computer running Windows XP SP2 and itunes 7.6.1.9 suddently stopped burning cds via itunes about a couple of versions ago. Burning would start correctly, however the operation never completed successfully, in fact, the computer would completly freeze before getting too far. The computer had to be hard booted, meaning I had to hold the power button to kill it. The only solution that I've come up with that effectively corrects this problem is as follows:
Close itunes
Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Look for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and open it (double-click it):
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
Select Startup Type as Automatic
Go to Recovery tab and set first, second and subsequent failures to Restart the Service
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Look for iPod Service and open it:
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
Select Startup Type as Automatic
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Restart itunes, try burning a cd from a playlist in itunes. There is no guarantee that this will solve your issue, but it is worth a shot, it has worked for me so far.Hi Toonz,
