Help-computer crashed-had to re-install itunes
Okay, computer crashed and had to re-install itunes, how do i get all the songs on my daughter's iopd back into the library. After I installed itunes, a window popped up saying that this ipod is already in sync with another library, and can only be synced with one library at a time. But I don't HAVE the other library anymore. It gives me two options, to erase everything on the ipod and replace it with whats in the new library (which has nothing but 3 free songs that will get deleted anyway) or the transfer just the purchased songs into the new library. But what about all the other songs that are on there?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Connect your iPod and when you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. A paragraph on the transfer of iTMS purchases has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
PodPlayer Windows Only
CopyPod Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Computer crashed, need to re-install iTunes
My laptop just dead and I need to get a new one. Anything I need to do before/during I install/setup my iTunes onto another computer? Many thanks!
When you next connect to your iPad you need to make sure it does not attempt to sync data from the computer to the iPad. See this article:

My computer crashed; had to restore it back to the original factory settings. How do I get my I-Tunes account back on to the computer? My I-phone (5) is fine, and has all the information on it.
I did have I-Cloud backing things up, I don't think it will restore all my podcasts, or the music I downloaded from my CDs.It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

I bought a new laptop and used Windows Easy Transfer cable and moved all files from one computer to another. I installed iTunes and found my iTunes music Library. However, when I plug in my iPod it says it is already synced with another iTunes Library.
I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My computer crashed and I lost my itunes library. How can I restore it from my iPod?
My computer crashed and I lost my itunes library. How can I transfer my music from my ipod back to my computer? (I did not back up my entire itunes library.)
Ipod syncing is not one way. You just have to know what to do...
I can see you use windows. Connect ipod to pc, but don't install or dont open itunes - dont alow itunes to sync automaticly). Then open explorer, enable hidden files, open your ipod (as you would any disc) open hidden file with strange names and copy all of them on your new hard drive. Then drag all this strange-named files in your itunes...woooo...now those strange names become your songs...it is magick
I you won't i can send you step by step guide...
Take care. -

My computer crashed. I tried installing Elements on another computer and I get 'limit reached'.
You need to contact support directly for activation/deactivation and other installation issues. It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. You will need your serial number. If an agent is not immediately available, refresh the page a few times until you see the green chat button, or try at a later time.

My computer crashed, I recovered all my itunes files, I have them on a file on my new computer, How do I connect them to my newer version of itunes on my new computer?
Any music purchased through the iTunes store can be downloaded again for free as long as you are signed in with the Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Any other music you had in iTunes should be easily accessible in your system back up or from the CDs you ripped from originally.

computer crashed had to factory recover OS and can not play the 2 movies i purchased prior to computer crashing can not play and can not locate! How do I recover them?
You definitely need to resurrect the old password associated with the Apple ID you used to purchase the music.
Go here: https://iforgot.apple.com
An email will be sent to the email address associated with that account with instructions regarding resetting that Apple ID's password.
If you no longer have access to that email, the resolution to this problem becomes considerably more difficult. In that event you would need to contact iTunes Support and explain your dilemma. -

I have an ipod and an Iphone 5. My computer crashed and I lost my itunes on my computer. Is there a way to link my devices to my computer to put my music back on my laptop.
If your music is all purchased from iTunes, you can log back in with the same Apple ID, authorize the computer and get your past purchases back. If not, then see this document put together by another user. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
