Help configuring SSO/OID with WLS 11g

Hello,
We have recently upgraded to 11g from 10g. I have OID ans SSO installed but can't seem to things configured properly. I have been able to "register" OID as the secuity provider via the WLS Console for the tools.
I have loaded the users via ldap add using an ldif from the old ldap server.
What I can't seem to do is get the sso login.jsp to popup when I go to our webpages?
I know it must be something in a configuration file but I can't seem to identify exactly what it is.
I've looked at all sorts of docs but can't seem to find the right one.
If anyone can point me to a doc that outlines how to config everything that would be great.
Thanks.
Steve.

Hi,
it works with this provider and we had this QA tested. I suggest you deploy the application to WLS and make it run with the embedded LDAP server similar to how it works with the integrated server. Once you have this working you configure the RDBMS provider to perform the authentication.
Here's a blog entry that references all useful resources when configuring ADF Security

  • Pre-Configured Virtual Machine with OBIEE 11g available?

    Hi,
does Oracle offer a pre-configured Virtual Machine with OBIEE 11g? I found an old Virtual Box Image with 10.2..., but nothin newer.
    Thanks for your help.
    Christoph

    Hi,
I don't suppose this is available yet is it? I notice Oracle offer quite a few downloadable images for Virtual Box now, but OBI isn't included in any that I could see.
    Thanks,

  • Need help configuring Attribute Change in WLS 6.1

    Hi there,
I did all it said in the documentation, lacking any sight of an SNMP
trap. I want to receive a SNMP trap if the
    InvalidLoginAttemptsTotalCount changes (MBean: ServerSecurityRuntime).
    I use
    Attribute MBean Type: ServerSecurityRuntime
    Attribute MBean Name:
    petstore:Location=petstoreServer,Name=petstoreServer,Type=ServerSecurityRuntime
    Attribute Name: InvalidLoginAttemptsTotalCount
I enabled SNMP, configure my TrapHost and started my trapdaemon. But I
don't get any trap even though I increased the counter by doing some
logins with the wrong password. Parallel to my attribute change I also
configured a counter monitor on the same attribute, with the same
    disappointing result =:-(
    Can anyone help ?
    Greetings,
    Alex

You need to set a target for the pool. Without target
pool service won't start. Also you need to provide
initial and maximum size for the pool.

    Hi,
I need to create a connection pool in WLS 7. Here are the specificsof my
    environment:
    1. RDBMS: Oracle 8i
    2. Driver I want to use: Oracle thin 8.17 (provided with WLS 7)
    3. IP address of machine on which database resides: 192.168.0.5
    4. Port number: 1521
    5. Name of database: MyDB
    6. user: scott
    7. password: tiger
Given the above,I do not know exactly what to fill out in the
    following
    fields
that appear in the Admin Console's connection pool creation form:
    1. Name of connection pool (OK, this one I know!)
    2. URL string (exactly what should it be, given above info?)
    3. Driver Classname (I want to use Oracle thin 8.17, so what shouldI fill
    here?)
    4. Properties (exactly what should I fill here, given above info?)
    5. ACL Name (completely stumped here! Documentation says ACLs havebeen
    replaced
by policies in WLS 7 - so what to fill here?)
Could someone please help me correctly fill out these fields usingthe
    information
I provided in the first paragraph.
BTW, I'm logged into WLS as Administrator.
    Much obliged,
    Nadeem

I believed the shared services is bundled with the foundation if I'm not mistaken, because I can't find any download related to it on edelivery site.
I tried to configure only the Foundation components but the '*Comman setting*' & '*configure database*' are grayed out so I have no option but to figure out first this shared services configuration.

  • Help Configuring PHP Server with new Flex project.

    Hi,
I'm curious if someone can help me with a frustrating problem.
While creating a new flex project, I can't seem to validate the configuration of the php server. I keep getting the message: "Cannot access the web server. The server may not be running, or the web root folder or root URL may be invalid."
I'm running MySQL, PHP and Apache 2.2. These program have worked indepentally without flex, so I know the program isn't with the install of the stack.
For my web root I entered: "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs" the location where I installed Apache
And for root url I'm using "http://localhost"
The other wierd part of this is that even though Flex would not validate this connection, I went ahead and started the project anyway and made a succesful connection to mysql, obviously though when I tried to launch the project it couldn't connect to the server.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated because flex is pretty much useless to me unless I can figure out how to connect with php and mysql.

  • I need help configuring a connection with asdm 5.2 for asa

    Hi All
I am very much a novice with asdm 5.2 for asa and I urgently need to configure a connection but don’t know how to. I have 2 domains at work and someone is trying to connect their sql client from their pc in one domain to the sql server in the other domain (DMZ).
When he tries to connect he gets the error
Cant connect to MySql Server at "IP Address" (10060)
He is trying to connect on port 3306. Could anyone please give me any tips on how i can resolve this quickly? I know i am
trying a shortcut on this one but I recently started a new job and thrown in the deep end here and need to learn this asdm 5.2 for asa product from scratch with nothing more than the manual that come with the cd . My Cisco knowledge is from 2001 when i did half of a ccna course.

    Hi,
I'm not a security specialist but here is how I had it set up at home:
Essentially a NAT and a rule forwarding the port are needed. In this particular case I had an Oracle server running and a person requested remote access. So, for example, the source address was his external IP and the destination was the Oracle's external IP. For the NAT the source was the internal IP of the Oracle server and the interface was Outside.
Hope this points you in the right direction.

  • Need Help Configuring Membership Website with External Approval Process

I am working on configuring a membership website for a group of scientist.  Here are the interesting requirements.  Any brainstorming would be helpful.
1 - A prospective member applies online. Within the application the prospective member has to include a reference for previous work proving his qualifications and naming a reference to confirm the qualifications.  The prospective member has to include the reference's name and email address.   (Site visitor creats a new user-submitted webapp item, easy enough.)
2 - The application needs to kick off a workflow to an external site visitor (someone who doesn't have a site login).  This reference needs to confirm of reject the prospective member's qualifications.
3 - If the external site visitor approves the reference, then the membership director needs to be emailed of the approval.  This approval should then kickoff another approval process to ask the membership director for his approval.
4 - If the external site visitor rejects the reference, then the membership directory needs to be emailed the rejection notification.  (If the reference rejects then there will be some sort of appeal process or ability to start over or submit a different reference.)
5 - If the reference approves and the membership director approves, then the prospective member is notified and submitted an invoice to pay.  His memberhsip is not active until he pays.
6 - Once the member pays, then he appears in the online directory.
7 - The member will also be able to login and edit his profile as needed.
That about sums it up.  Any ideas??
    THANKS!

    1. Do I need to connect the two base stations via an ethernet cable?
    OR
Can I simply plug the second base station into a power outlet in any room, along with the external hard drive connected to it's USB port?
Airport Utility would not even recognize the second base station unless it is using an ethernet LAN-to-LAN connection. (It would not recognize the second base station with WAN-to-LAN connection.)
You basically have three choices here that will allow the second AEBSn to share the attached USB HDD:
Wired: Interconnect the two AEBSns by Ethernet; reconfigure both base stations into a roaming network.
Wireless: Configure both AEBSns for an extended network. Note: This is what Lowell Tuttman is referring to.
Wireless: Configure the second AEBSn as its own wireless network. This would work but would require network clients to switch network to access the drive or access the Internet. Not really practical and not recommended.
The following Apple Support link provides very detailed information on setting up either a roamng or extended network with multiple AirPorts.
    2. Since I don't really care about the second base station utilizing the internet connection, do I set it up in Airport Utility as "create a new wireless network"?
This is the current setting and I have a steady green light. However, Time Machine does not recognize the disk.
In the first choice I provided, the second AEBSn would be configured to both "Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network" and "Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)."

  • SSO/OID with Workflow

Do we have to purchase Advanced Security option of 9i database if we want to use SSO with Workflow ?
    Thank you
    Aamir

    Aamir,
I don't belive so, but you might want to check the licensing terms for using the Oracle Single-Sign-On server. For workflow to work, all you need it the mod_osso module which comes with Oracle SSO server.
    Thanks,

  • Essbase SSO Token with OBIEE 11g

Has anyone had success is setting up SSO token security in OBIEE 11g for Essbase. I have followed the steps in the documents of 11.1.1.x and still am not getting users to authenticate against the cube I am using. When I log in as one of those users, and view the report I get a invalid user.

If you got this working, please can you share the steps?

  • NEED HELP configuring wifi sync with iPhone4

Ok, I've updated my iPhone4 to iOS 5 and I have the latest version of iTunes.  It looks as if wifi sync should be working fine, but when I go into options, my phone tells me that the phone will sync the next time that it's plugged in and "ComputerA" is available.  The problem is that I don't want it to sync with "Computer A", the phone was updated and synced and used exclusively with "Computer B"... "Computer A" is completely decomissioned with a toasted power supply and shouldn't even be part of the equation here...  but I'm not given the option of selecting any other computer for the wifi sync to look for.. everything is "greyed out" and cannot be edited... anyone else have this problem?  Anyone know how to fix this problem?

You can try putting into the phone the fields you see in Outlook in the +Tools > Accounts+ window. Use the various buttons (Advanced, Edit) to dig down and see your Exchange server and username. The iPhone needs those when you try to set up an Exchange account on it. However, this info alone wasn't enough for my phone to "verify" the Exchange account. I eventually gave up.
I believe I.T. must do something on its end to allow remote devices to tap into the particular user account. In my company they do this if you have a Blackberry but not for anything else.

  • Jdeveloper SSO/OID 11.5.10.2 instance and CMAN (OCM)

    What works:
I've done a sucessful install of win jdeveloper 9.0.3.8.13 and run the toolbox tutorial test on instance OPEN (11.5.10.2; no SSO; no firewall).
Another instance, DEVL, is behind a firewall, using SSO/OID with a 1-time password via securecard kerberos authentication, and it behaves normally.
We can connect to the DEVL database through CMAN (or Oracle Connection Manager) by adding the appropriate OCM information to the tnsnames alias.
With the same jdeveloper that worked on OPEN, the connections > database > test is good to DEVL. (Again after adding the OCM parts to the URL:jdbc:oracle:thin:<connect string>)
The DEVL.dbc file was copied from the app-server, modified to add the OCM information (I didn't delete the "\" characters.), then saved to the same location as the OPEN.dbc.
This .dbc file was chosen in the tutorial's runtime connection section.
I also configured my 11i Apps user account via the profile option "Applications SSO Login Types" to use a local login with a fixed password - in theory, skipping the SSO login requirement.
(Related issue 1: the tutorial project settings runtime connection requires a username and password. In our SSO, there won't be a fixed password. Resolvable?)
    What doesn't work:
Attempting to run the tutorial test_fwktutorial.jsp. It runs the enbedded OC4J and the new browser window opens with the right *jsp URL, but it's the Error Page. Clicking "here" for exception details:
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: SYSTEM-ERROR. Tokens: MESSAGE = Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection; at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAExceptionUtils.processAOLJErrorStack(OAExceptionUtils.java:988) at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAUtility.getWebAppsContext(OAUtility.java:353) at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.CreateIcxSession.getEncryptedSessId(CreateIcxSession.java:144) at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.CreateIcxSession.createSession(CreateIcxSession.java:80) at test_fwktutorial._jspService(test_fwktutorial.jsp:40)
Anyone want to tackle a recommendation?

Did you double click the jpx file and check the connection which is associated to it? Also make sure the correct DBC is associated at Runtime Connections level (Project->RuntimeConnections)

  • Help  - SPENGO - Microsoft SSO with WLS 9.2

    Friends,
I am trying to integrate Microsoft SSO with WLS with SPENGO. I followed the steps given in http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/secmanage/sso.html and even in 8.x documentation where I had to create a LDAP authenticator etc.
However, instead of SPENGO token, I get the NTLM token. It looks like when Kerberos fails, WLS tries to invoke NTLM. But I am not sure where I am doing wrong. It would be great if someone could look at the following logs and suggest some workaround.

When you configure Spnego and sso, do you also need to configure an active directory authenticator ??
I think I have the SSO part working - it does kerberos authentication and gets the username, howerver after taht it fails because it tries to do an LDAP authentication with that username.
    <LDAP Atn Login username: kerbuser01>
<[Security:090300]Identity Assertion Failed: User kerbuser01 does not exist
    Any pointers ?

  • How to configure MQ with WLS (JMS MQ vs Native MQ)

    Hi All,
    SOA Suite = 11.1.3.3
    MQ Series = 6.0
    Jdeveloper = 11.1.3.3
I want to read/write data to an MQ which is setup on a physical box different from Weblogic Server box. But both systems fall under the same network. I did some research on the forums to know the steps to configure MQ but ultimately got confused with the following questions in mind.
    1. What is the difference between JMS MQ and Native MQ? How to determine which one to use?
    2. If native MQ can be used here, what are the steps to configure Native MQ on WLS in my situation?
    3. Do I need any foreign servers or message bridges to be configured?
Please provide any directions or pointers.
    Regards,
    Neeraj Sehga

    1. What is the difference between JMS MQ and Native MQ? How to determine which one to use?Native MQ refers to a proprietary api provided by IBM in multiple languages including java so that applications running on these can communicate mq. IBM also provides JMS wrappers around this native api, so that a jms client can talk to mq using JMS API. This is called MQ JMS.
    2. If native MQ can be used here, what are the steps to configure Native MQ on WLS in my situation?SOA suite provides a MQ Resource Adaptor which can be used to connect to MQ. The developers of this resource adapter would have used the native api to enable the adaptor to talk to MQ, so that you dont have to worry about it. However you will need to configure the properties of your local MQ ( qmgr , q name etc). This is done in the outbound connection pool properties of the resource adaptor.
please check this blog for how to do this : http://soa-bpel-esb.blogspot.com/2009/09/configuring-mq-in-11g-soa-suite.html.
Since your MQ installation is in a remote machine you will have to configure the following properties specific to your environment - hostname, port, server connection channel, along with the queue manager name and queue name
    3. Do I need any foreign servers or message bridges to be configured? Not required for your case if you are using MQ Adaptor. Since MQ also provides a JMS transport , you would have required foreign servers if you have to use JMS Adaptor instead of MQ Adaptor. Native MQ is expected to be faster than MQ JMS as it doesn't have the extra JMS layer.

  • Urgent!!! Need help with ADF 11g app deployment

    Thanks Timo/Arun,
The problem was same as figured by you. :)
The application is running smoothly in IE7 but in Mozilla 3.0.15 it is not running.
    There it is throwing error:
    Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.5 404 Not Found+
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Any pointers to this ...
    Thanks n Regards
