Help connect iPad to wi-fi after re-store

Took my iPad to genius bar where they did a restore.  They told me to synch it as a new iPad and not as the original.  I got all my apps, but cannot reconnect to my wi-fi.  It is not getting the right ip address.  I disconnected my modem and router, but still not working.  My pc and iPod are accessing the wi-fi, but not the iPad.  How do I restore my connection?

I'm sorry but troubleshooting Internet connection problems is not my field of expertise. That's why I merely dug up the support articles for you and made no specific suggestions.
I assume that you tried ....
Forget this Network in the iPad settings, restarted the iPad reentered your password
Toggled WiFi off and on, and restarted the iPad
Renew Lease in the settings restarted the iPad
There are a number of very knowledgeable WiFi "gurus" that participate in this site and I hope one reads your post. If you get no help with this thread - post another very specific question now - "iPad can't find the correct IP address or has incorrect IP address - that may help narrow it down for those that scan the site.

    I am giving my iPad 2 to my wife. I reset everything and did a restore through iTunes. So it has a fresh install of iOS 7.0.6.
    Now, it will not connect to my Airport Extreme network! I get this message, time after time:

    Here is what I tried:
    I rebooted the Airport Extreme
    I reset the iPad (several times).
    I triple-checked I am using the right settings (password, security [WPA2]).
    I am well within range of the Airport.
    All other devices using this Airport is working fine.
    This iPad has worked fine for me ever since I got it with this same network.

    I recommend trying these additional steps if you cannot connect to the internet with your iPad:

    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network, and then reconnect to the network.
    Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
    Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
    previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

    Itunes starts to restore then stops with no error message. the ipad is completely useless. I've restarted and reset several times and ive changed USB ports. It is recognised in iTunes and begins to restore, the ipad shows the progress bar, which also just freezes with no error message.

    Can't connect ipad to airport extreme after internet provider reset modem. Works fine only with MacBook Pro.

    Have you tried resetting your network settings?
    Try "forgetting" that network. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the chevron next to your wireless network name and then "forget this network".
    Tap it again to choose it.
    If that does not work... then try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    You will need to enter your networks passwords again, after which they will be remembered.
    To see available networks go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Available networks are shown under Choose a Network...

    downloaded the updated iTunes and that did nothing. I then went through the form about $ very VERY carefully and discovered one field left blank. Once that was filled in, everything worked and I now have my free app.

    I have done exactly as you say, but it does not work for me.
    You indicated  " Navigate to the info tab and scroll down. There'll be a check box for 'sync over wifi' or something to that effect. Check that box and sync to affirm your choice."
    I navigated to Summary tab (not Info Tab) and checked "Sync with this ipad over Wi-Fi"
    I disconnect the wire,
    and my iPad disappears from my iTunes screen.
    in my iPad ->Settings -> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync -> says " Sync will resume when (my PC) is available.
    So, I can not sync via wi-fi
    I appreciate if you can help me.

    I too have been having this issue since about 12/14.  That is around the same time I got the Ipad for my kids.  I am unsure if it is related.  I have tried logging out of icloud/deleting it and trying again.  Removing most of the apps to sync.  I reset my router.  All of the attempts have produced zero results.  I will be anxiously watching this thread for some help.  Good luck to you also

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    Settings>General>AutoLock>Never. Now it will not sleep at all so change it back when you are done reading.

    I"m going to make the presumption that you've checked the volume and that you don't have it muted. One thing some have suggested is to go into the settings and reset all settings.
    It is kind of a drag because you wil have to retweak everything but it's helped for some.

    When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547
