Help: Connecting Firebird with CF on different servers

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me. I have a server with firebird and a database ( i cant touch that server) so I had to configure another server with CF, now, I need to connect CF with firebird on the other server to be able to read the database. The servers are in the same network (they are next to each other)

Please Help Connect MV8000 with LOGIC PRO 8

Hello I have a MV-8000 , a Korg Triton, and an iMAC with Reason, and LOGIC PRO 8.
I can use them all pretty well separately,but that is the problem: they are all SEPARATE music stations. SO I really want all to work seamlessly with each other. I want my main work station to be Logic.I can create the basic beats and tunes on the MV-8000 and then fix them up and sequence them on Logic. I also want to have access to reason through Logic as wel. If anyone one could help me by telling me what is needed to be done or showing me a website that explains in details how I can make all four systems work flawlessly together.

Hi, could you give more info as far as what type of input device if any you are using? Firewire, usb, name and model? Running reasons into Logic Pro 8 is pretty simple by following theses steps.
1. Make sure Logic is started first if you want it to be the host (master)
2. In logic insert new external midi track
3. Open Reasons (there are several ways of doing this but here is one) load an instrument no mixer needed in Reasons in this method, if the instrument is stereo it will automatically be routed to 1-2 of the Audio Device in Reasons, manually move them to 3-4 (next stereo instrument 5-6 and so on)
4. Go back to Logic open up the mixer, Click options> create new aux channel strips, the new auxillary window opens, the number box has 1 for the track you are adding. change format to stereo if working with stereo, input would be 3-4, leave out put alone, click create
5. Finally go to the external midi track you created in step 2 make suer ibrary is showing on the left and click reasons and the reason istrument you added. You should be able to record the reason instrument within Logic now.

Help connecting Rome with Adobe server

This question doesn't really have anywhere else to go since Rome is officially retired and has no forum, but how can I get Rome to reconnect with Adobe server so I can access fonts? I've just downloaded the program and right now all I can get are 4 standard ones.

As a followup, there was something called “Project ROME” that was never really a commercial product. It was a web application based upon Adobe's AIR runtime system. Further information about it may be found at <http://download.macromedia.com/pub/rome/projectrome_sysreq_faq.pdf> and in fact, you can download the last version of this prerelease product for “free” use as-is - Windows version <http://download.macromedia.com/pub/rome/projectrome_win.air> and Mac version <http://download.macromedia.com/pub/rome/projectrome_mac.air>.
If you still have documents in this format, I would strongly suggest you save them out to something else before all support disappears.
In terms of standard fonts, normally such AIR-based software used variants of Myriad Pro and Minion Pro, fonts that are typically supplied with InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, etc.

Connecting to different servers with Oracle Rdb

I have downloaded the Odbc-Driver driver for Rdb and made successful connections to my database server. The name of the server is hardcoded with the odbc administrator. How is it possible to use different servers from asp-script ?

I have done this, but the Driver (Oracle Rdb Driver, Version 3.00.02.04) do not understand the "DB"-Parameter correctly. The databasename is transferred to the server without the attach-command. So I can only make the connect to a preattached service. This is a known problem by Oracle.

Dw cs5 with existing wordpress site hosted on yahoo need help connecting to existing remote database

I am having trouble establishing a database connection. I can connect with test databases but am having trouble using dreamweaver wtih my existing wordpress website. Am I able to use dreamweaver to edit and live view my changes before uploading the changed files to my live site? Am I able to access my existing wordpress database with dreaweaver? I have imported it to my testing server/database but still seem to be having trouble establishing a connection with it (think maybe my folder hierarchy might be off).

"nwm" is the name of the folder that I have copied all of my site files to and the folder I have dreamweaver pointing to. "wp" is what I have all of the wordpress files in (the ones I copied from my yahoo server - including all my current theme files etc.)

did some google seaches of the error. Tried turning off the firewall, and the advance tab allow mysql incoming (there were 2 one was allow one was not allow. I changed both to allow)
Cant really find anything on yahoo to help me out. Looked in phpmyadmin database named wp: wp_users to get the username and password (which due to previous look for help - I think the password was encrypted cuz it looked like a bunch of mumbo jumbo and am fairly certain I know the correct password).

I spent $50 on live chat last night trying to resolve the issue only to find out at the end that the guy really didn't understand my problem and doesn't have dreamweaver. I am also trying to work my way thru the learning php, mysql, javascript book by o'reily media by robin nixon (as fun as reading a math text book) can't get thru it since I can't relate any of it to my current sites/needs

If wordpress controls it's own connection why am I unable to use the live view. I have synced the remote site to my local computer so all the files should be just as they are online with the exception of the DB which contains most of the content.
I have done all of those steps. I have even exported the database from inside internet phpmyadmin and imported into computer phpmyadmin. When I hit live view I get one of couple of errors.
1. "One is that the dynamic related files could not be displayed due to an internal server error"
At some point I was able to view some sample files inside dreamweaver. But I would like to be able to view my real site files. I was able to "connect" to the local databases (not the copy of my real one - I think that maybe that was because it is somehow nested inside another db an am going try to reimport to new location). And then I changed the host/username/password trying to deal with the internal server error. Now instead I get the cannot connect to the database Error 2016 or whatever from the origianl post. Also, I am using yahoo if that matters and all I can find about what their server name is: mysql - is that correct?
I have been thru this so many times with so many different tutorials I am losing track of what is what.
2. Can I access my remote database within dreamweaver? I do not want to create dummy files (seems to be a waste of time). And while if it had worked exporting/importing a duplicate on to my computer would have satisfied me for a little while it also seems some what counter productive. Since every post and page is different if I were doing a daily updates etc how would I be able to change the formating or design of them if I can't access the remote files. Would I re- import everytime I want to work on it to get current database?
I am trying to be clear. I listed all the specs I could think as listed in your "how to get help fast post" (yes I read that at least twice too) of all of the steps and possible reasons for my problems. I also thought that the forum was on a seperate site so I didn't think it would count as a duplicate. I think I have it working on my iPhone 5. But, I do not see how I can control the exit point that I would like for the VPN. Are all the exit points shown in the VPN setting now going to work with Open VPN, or do they remain PPTP? If I am reading correctly, they look like they remain PPTP. If I cannot control the exit point for open VPN, which exit point is the default in the profile you provided me?I note that Open VPN Connect does not work with any of the new 64 bit devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the new iPad MIni. Is there any chance that you guys will come up with an update for your app so that open VPN can be made to work on all iOS devices? Just a quick note to tell you that Open VPN has updated their app so that it is compatible with 64 bit ARM devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the iPad Mini Retina.That does not resolve the problem of how to easily choose among the various possibilities for the exit server. We need to find an easy way to choose.

ARD and VNC no longer connect to 2 out of 3 servers. Please help.

We have 3 Mac OSX servers here - Web, DB, File. Recently, I attempted to connect via TightVNC - I only had a PC with me at the time. After setting the Mac servers to accept VNC connections (with a password), I was able to connect with TightVNC. ARD was still working fine as usual on the Mac.
Last week, both the VNC and ARD connections started failing on the Web and File servers. The DB server works fine with both though. All of the remote and VNC settings on all 3 servers are the same, and like I said, everything was working fine. I also tried Chicken of the VNC from my Mac, but I get the same results (cannot connect).
The ARD icons for the web and file servers are greyed out in ARD now. When I try to connect to them, I just get the message " Connection failed to (server name.)" The current status for both of these servers is "unknown." I can ping both of them though.
Any ideas on why this would be working, then stop? Would a reboot fix this?
What stumps me most is that the DB server connection is still working, even though all 3 of these servers are set up the same and were working without a problem.

I have found that reverse DNS entries, especially when they are wrong, can really mess things up. If you haven't already, in your ARD scanner windows, right-click and add the "DNS Name" column, and adjust the columns so you can see it. Whenever you have problems connecting in ARD, that's always a quick thing you can check. If the DNS name does not match your computer name, you'll have problems.
I don't think you gave enough detail of what is and isn't working, but in general, you can try connecting both with dns names and IP addresses, and connecting to Macs sometimes works better by putting their name as macname.local instead of macname.yourdomain.com.
If you try to connect with VNC via IP address, and the IP addresses on your servers are static (should be), and it doesn't work, it very likely could be a firewall setting. Even if you have the firewall off or ports open, you'll want to run a port scan against the server in question to test what truly is open.
This is all general stuff. Post something more specific if none of this helps (detail of OS versions, programs used, ports set open, any error messages, etc).

Seriously, these kind of questions must be much easier to find answer to by using google or the Solaris documentation, its a quite basic question.
To give a more serious answer "ping" is in /usr/sbin, so if you don't find ping you dont have /usr/sbin in your $PATH. In which case you can run:
/usr/sbin/ping remotehostname
If you get "unknown host remotehostname" you need to fix your DNS resolving by adding "dns" to the line which begins with "hosts" in /etc/nsswitch.conf and create a /etc/resolv.conf..

Is there any way I can connect to 2 different databases at the same time. What I have is 2 different database for two different payroll systems. Now what I want to do is if user press a button I send some data from this payroll database to second payroll database using insert and update command.
I am using Form 5, one database is Personal Oracle 7 and second is Oracle 7.3. (I don't think versions matters but anyway)

Yes u can connect to with several database at a time using ODBC connection and Exex_Sql package supplied with Forms6i as a built-in. There is no Exec_Sql built-in supplied with Forms5, but there is a library named exec_sql.pll (Check it out) supplied with Forms5.
using this package u can connect with multiple DB at the same time.

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem. Also, since you have IOS-7, read this. It might help.

I'm looking for some help connecting linksys IP Cameras to my home network to monitor my property when I'm travelling. I used to do this with linksys WAPS, but since I've discarded all my old linksys networking and standardized on airport, I can't get these things working. I know that I have to identify my camera through the DHCP table and set up port forwarding and there is the problem.
My network consists of 4 base stations set up in a roaming network - same network name and passwords. I need to do it this way so I don't have to switch network when I move from one side of the house to the other, go to the cabana, or my shop in the barn. The network works pretty well since I went to a roaming set up. Good performance, yata, yata, yata.
However, the roaming network requires the AEBS's to be set up in bridge mode, rather than sharing an ip address. When the AEBS is set to bridge mode, you don't see a DCHP table or have the ability to identify your IP Cam through the AEBS - and hence, no port forwarding.
I am able to identify and set up my Linksys IP Cam by locating the ip address on my FIOS router, even though, it's plugged into an AEBS. I set it up, see the video, remove the ethernet cable from the IP Cam, restart - and I can't get to it from an AEBS. In researching this, it appears, I should be setting up the AEBS to "share an IP Address", going to the DHCP table and identifying the camera's IP address and setting up port forwarding. However, you don't see any of the DHCP or port forwarding options in Airport Network Utility when configuring in bridge mode.
I'm hoping I'm missing something here and that the solution isn't to set it up at the FIOS router level, but I'm beginning to think that's my only hope. What concerns me there is that I should be able to see the IP cam on the network without port forwarding since I'm not coming from outside, and I can't even do this unless it's connected hard wire.
I'd appreciate any insight into this that anyone might have. I've hit the wall with what I know.

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

Setting mail with Cox (or other services with different servers for pop and smtp)

My Cox mail account uses different servers for pop and smtp (my personal ISP 1&1 does too).
The mail applet on my Blackberry Curve 8330 with Verizon does not allow to define different servers for pop and smtp, and further, for SSL smtp mail, the port is fixed at 995 and cannot be changed, while Cox (and 1&1) want to use 587 or something like that.
As a result, I can only receive mail with these services.
I also have yahoo mail, which works fine, so I can send mail with it and it is not a life-and-death situation, but I would like to be able to just reply to email sent to my Cox address.
I called Verizon and they said BlackBerry provides the mail access through their servers and the applet, so there is nothing they can do.
Is there a way to set it such that I can not only receive but also send mail through either of these services?

The problem I have with this solution is like the one I have now using yahoo.
There are 2 problems:
1) mailing lists want the mail to come from the account that is subscribed, so if the cox account is subscribed, I can't contribute from the blackberry, and if the blackberry account is subscribed, I don't get my mail in Outlook. Neither is good for me.
2) people who send me mail to the Cox account and get replies from me from the blackberry continue responding to the account that can send from the blackberry (not Cox), and from that point on I do not have that mail on the computer.
The issue of having two copies is no big deal, I just delete the mail I do not need. I would rather have two than none.
Really, Blackberry should modify the email service so that they directly support mail systems like those of Cox and 1&1. I am sure there are others. They should also allow the use of another port for SSL than 995. I have not seen anyone using 995 for SSL.
Until recently, I had a BB provided by my employer, and we had a BES, and that worked really well. I would like to emulate as much of that functionality as possible without having to pay somebody another $10 or $20 a month just for the priviledge of having an account on a private BES server.
