Help connecting phone hotspot to computer.

I am trying to use Droid X as hot spot to my laptop.  Not sure how to set the computer so that it will recognize the droid...

Yeah that is the most important part....  Now if you have a plan for the Hotspot then all you should have yo do is start app on device and then go on pc and search for new wifi network (Just like if you was connecting to a home router) and enter any password if it was set on device and then you should be up and going..

When you erase your Find my iphone and if you can not restore, your iphone has a problem with hardware.

  • Need help connecting to my home computer from work

Hi, I am trying to connect to my home computer from my work computer, but I am not able to connect to it. I do CMD+K (from work) and type in the IP address (with & without smb:// &/or afp://), but home computer does not show up or the connection times out. My home computer is awake and file sharing & remote login are on. My home computer is an Imac 20" Intel Core 2 Duo connected via cable modem @ 12mbps running 10.5.2. My work computer is a Power Mac G5 Duel 2.7 running 10.4.11. Am I not able to connect because of the OS difference? Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. Sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find any posts with questions like this. Thanks.

"Screen Sharing" needs to be turned on. "Allow access" needs to be configured properly.
Can you connect to you computer from the office via command K using afp? Does the login window come up? What kind of a network do you have at the office? Are you behind a firewall there or is it a direct connection? (one of our labs at my university is tied down so tight you can't connect to any ip addresses outside the firewall unless the IT administrator puts that ip address into his little magic box,)
Last week I was using my laptop to connect with a computer across the hall. It would not recognize the ip address. I rebooted the laptop and it started working.
If you have the correct ip address and your office network is not behind some kind of heavy duty vpn firewall it may be your router at home.
Of course maybe Rush Limbaugh made a real point today in calling for Steve Jobs to recognize there are some bugs in Leopard and fixing them.

I need help connecting my iPhone to computer

    Howdy sprinklemk,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the iPhone User Guide, it answers your question about how to connect your iPhone to your computer and provides additional information that you may find helpful.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
You may need to connect iPhone to your computer in order to complete activation. Connecting iPhone to your computer also lets you sync photos and other content to iPhone from your computer, using iTunes. See Sync with iTunes on page 18.
To use iPhone with your computer, you need:
An Internet connection for your computer (broadband is recommended)
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, and one of the following operating systems:
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
Connect iPhone to your computer. Use the Lightning to USB Cable (iPhone 5 or later) or 30-pin the other device.
    Cheers,
    -Jason

  • Sorry/Help connecting to a new computer 'main'

I'm sorry, i know this question has been asked many times before but after searching through pages worth of similar subjects i still have no concrete answer.
My dad gave me his old iphone '3gs', he set this up for me on his computer. Now i have my own laptop and would like to set the partnership between the two, thus making controlling my device much simpler.
My worry is not necessarily the music, i understand all the itunes only business. But my contacts, garage band saved songs, apps etc. What will happen to these when i sync? I've connected to the laptop, i always set my apple devices to manage music manually, but as i understand it everything will be wiped once i connected to a new 'main' controller/computer. It's the contacts, pictures and garage band saves that bother me.
Please help, sorry to ask again....

You'll have to use a 3rd party app to transfer ripped (non-purchased) music to your library as well as any pictures synced to your phone from the other computer.  Another option is to uses Home Sharing to import the music from the other iTunes library if it is on the same network (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819).
As far as you Garage Band tracks, I'm not sure about that since I don't use it.  It it's considered App data, that will be included in the backup (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946).  Unless you can get a definitive answer on that play it safe and send them to your friend.

Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.

I have been trying to update apps on my phone and get the same message. However, I am

When I synch the phone to the computer, it doesn't update the apps on my phone - I still get

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying

I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.

I only "clicked" on "Backup" when I connected the new phone to my computer. I was afraid to click on "Restore Backup" to have all the other information I had from my other iPhone load up to my new iPhone. Hope you can help. That's up to you. Do you want the data on your old phone on your new phone? If so, you follow the directions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109
If you want to setup your new phone as a new device, then there is nothing you need to do.

  • I have been given an i phone 3 that was on O2. Had it unlocked and placed my vodaphone sim in. I live in Spain so on getting back here tried to connect it to my computer, updating I tunes like stated in guide. A message comes up now with no sim, no connect

I was given an I phone by my son in law, he was on O2. I had the phone unblocked and placed my vodaphone Spanish sim card into it. All worked well until I connected it to my computer in Spain. in the instructions they advices to update my I tunes which I did. A message came up on the computer sayin no sim and my phone became locked again. I now have a useless phone as cannot get a screen. I don't know what the serial number is as can't access details from the phone and have not got the box. Can anyone help. I paid £25 in the u.k last week to have it unlocked.

Chances are you got ripped off. If you didn't have it unlocked by O2, you had it "hacked". Updating it has re-locked it. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. If you're not physically in the UK, your chances of getting it unlocked are near nil from what others here have stated.
