Help connecting to 2wire 1800HG.

I have a 2wire 1800HG modem. Just bought a macbook and am having trouble connecting to the modem. Has anyone else had the same setup and can send me some advice?
I've tried $ in front of 10 digit key
I've tried "" around the 10 digit key
I've tried WPA with a variety of keys
Thanks in advance for your help.

Perhaps something in the thread "Error Connecting 2wire 1800HG" will help.

Sounds like a problem with your router.  not sure if this link will help but take a look  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
I would also try googling your problem esp. the 2wire router.

I'm looking for some help connecting linksys IP Cameras to my home network to monitor my property when I'm travelling.  I used to do this with linksys WAPS, but since I've discarded all my old linksys networking and standardized on airport, I can't get these things working.  I know that I have to identify my camera through the DHCP table and set up port forwarding and there is the problem.
My network consists of 4  base stations set up in a roaming network - same network name and passwords.  I need to do it this way so I don't have to switch network when I move from one side of the house to the other, go to the cabana, or my shop in the barn.  The network works pretty well since I went to a roaming set up.  Good performance, yata, yata, yata.
However, the roaming network requires the AEBS's to be set up in bridge mode, rather than sharing an ip address.  When the AEBS is set to  bridge mode, you don't see a DCHP table or have the ability to identify your IP Cam through the AEBS - and hence, no port forwarding.
I am able to identify and set up my Linksys IP Cam by locating the ip address on my FIOS router, even though, it's plugged into an AEBS.  I set it up, see the video, remove the ethernet cable from the IP Cam, restart - and I can't get to it from an AEBS.  In researching this, it appears, I should be setting up the AEBS to "share an IP Address", going to the DHCP table and identifying the camera's IP address and setting up port forwarding.  However, you don't see any of the DHCP or port forwarding options in Airport Network Utility when configuring in bridge mode.
I'm hoping I'm missing something here and that the solution isn't to set it up at the FIOS router level, but I'm beginning to think that's my only hope.  What concerns me there is that I should be able to see the IP cam on the network without port forwarding since I'm not coming from outside, and I can't even do this unless it's connected hard wire.
I'd appreciate any insight into this that anyone might have.  I've hit the wall with what I know.
    Thanks.

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

  • Need help connecting a windows network printer to my Mac (Xerox Phaser 3600) over a windows home network

Need help connecting a windows network printer to my Mac (Xerox Phaser 3600) over a windows home network.
My Mac runs lion and the windows desktop runs Windows XP
I have tried for a few hours or so to connect my mac to this printer over a home network.
For your information it does work when connected directly to my mac using a USB Cable.
If there is no soultion could I have help getting the drivers for a Dell All-in-One Photo 926

In most cases you can connect to the Windows shared printer from the Mac. But there is a dependence on the Mac driver being compatible. For many consumer inkjets, the vendor created driver cannot be used for this type of connection so you need to look at alternative drivers, such as Gutenprint or PrintFab. If you can tell us which brand and model of printer you have shared from Windows then we can answer your question with the preferred procedure on the Mac.

  • Airport Express Connection to 2WIRE 1000HW HomePortal?

New to the Mac world. My MacBook is currenly wirelessy connected using my 2WIRE 1000HW HomePortal. Connection is good but I need to connect a printer wirelessly (through the AE USB connection). The 2WIRE 1000HW is a combination DSL Modem and Wireless Router in one box. Do I need to 'disable' the wireless router portion of the 2WIRE 1000HW and use it just as a DSL Modem, or can I just use the AE and 'join' the existing 2WIRE router? OR would it be better to use the AE as the wireless router? The 2WIRE has an ethernet connection in back. What is the best connection (AE > 2WIRE ethernet)? Do I need to change anything in the 2WIRE or AE settings? Will there be a conflict wireless routers? Thanks!

dijman, Welcome to the discussion area!

    Either way.
Do I need to change anything in the 2WIRE or AE settings?
If you have the AirPort Express (AX) join the wireless network provided by the 2Wire then no changes need to be made to the AX.
Otherwise you will need to make changes to both.
Will there be a conflict wireless routers?
Not if the AX joins the wireless network or you disable the 2Wire wireless and connect the AX via Ethernet.

  • Need help connecting to my home Wireless Network

I need help connecting my LaserJer M1212nf MFP to my home wirless network. I would like to use Apple's AirPrint, and be able to print from my iPad.
I've spent a few hours following the directions I found on the manuals through hp.com and I've had no luck. I've already unistalled and reinstalled the printer. I've also updated the firmware. If anyone can provide assistance I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

This is NOT a wireless printer (see product spec: http://www.shopping.hp.com/shopping/pdf/ce841a.pdf), you can NOT add the printer to the wireless network. This printer do support LAN connection, so if your wireless router has LAN ports, you can added it to your home network by connecting a network cable from the printer to a LAN port on the router. You need then reinstall the printer as a network printer, to use airprint.

I need help connecting my iPhone to computer

    Howdy sprinklemk,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the iPhone User Guide, it answers your question about how to connect your iPhone to your computer and provides additional information that you may find helpful.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
You may need to connect iPhone to your computer in order to complete activation. Connecting iPhone to your computer also lets you sync photos and other content to iPhone from your computer, using iTunes. See Sync with iTunes on page 18.
To use iPhone with your computer, you need:
An Internet connection for your computer (broadband is recommended)
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, and one of the following operating systems:
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
Connect iPhone to your computer. Use the Lightning to USB Cable (iPhone 5 or later) or 30-pin the other device.
    Cheers,

  • Need help Connecting Crystal Reports 8.5 with GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c

Need help Connecting Crystal Reports 8.5 with GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c.  I need assistance on connecting these together so I can run a report.  I am not an IT person so if someone could dumb it down it would be great.
    Thanks,
    NBGHealth

    Hello,
I assume GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c is some sort of database or data source? If you have an ODBC driver then create or use a System DSN to the database. Then you can create a report using that DSN.
Otherwise I suggest you contact the makers of GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c and ask them how to connect to the database.
Let them know CR is ANSII 92 ODBC 3 compliant.
    Thank you
    Don

If you have some idea where the problem might be, you can get finer-grained control over what goes into the error log by setting nsslapd-errorlog-level appropriately. For the settings, see http://docs.sun.com/source/816-5608-10/config.htm#140331

  • Help connecting Canon iR-ADV C5030/5035 to Mac

Help connecting Canon iR-ADV C5030/5035 to Mac
When adding this printer via IP, 'Windows' and also the advance tool everything seems to work correctly. Once printing it goes through as if it has printed yet nothing comes out. As if it isnt communicating with the printer. Have also downloaded drivers from the canon website for the printer for mac.
Adding another cannon printer (Canon iR C3200 PCL) the same way works fine and am able to print from this printer.
Any ideas or suggestions to help solve this problem?
    Thanks

With Dept ID enabled, you need to open Printers & Scanners, select the C5035 printer in the list and then click on Options & Supplies. Then select the Utility tab and then Open Printer Utility. With the Canon utility open you will see the Printer Information button. Press this to open the Printer Information window that will confirm Dept ID Management is enabled in the copier as shown below.
Click OK to close the Printer Information window and then enable the Dept ID setting and enter your Dept ID and PIN. You will have the option to verify that your ID / PIN is correct and select not to use Dept ID printing when printing in B&W only. With the settings entered press the Save Settings button and then Quit the Canon driver utility.
Now open a document and select to print. Change the print dialog to Special Features and ensure that the Dept ID Management setting is enabled as shown below. You can also press the Settings button to check that your ID / PIN is set and you can verify it works. If all is good then see if you can print from this Mac.

  • Error Connecting 2wire 1800HG

Hi, can anyone help me connect my MacBook Core 2 Duo to connect to my 2Wire internet router model# 1800HG. I've tried everything from shutting off the security option which prompts me for the wep password but it still doesn't work. I don't think my wep password is wrong. Is there an incompatibility issue with the Intel Macs and my modem because my PC laptops work perfectly fine? The weird think is ethernet works but only wireless is an issue. Also, the error message that repeatedly pops up every time is "There is an error joining the airport 2wire..."

Wow, well after spending about 12 hours ping-ponging between AT&T DSL support and Applecare, I am relieved but also discouraged to hear that this issue is not mine alone.
The completely crazy thing is that the MacBookPro HAS been wirelessly connecting to my 2Wire 1000HG via Airport perfectly for about 2 or 3 weeks since I got it.
Suddenly, yesterday afternoon, it stopped working and I'll be darned if I or anyone can get it the MBP to connect via wireless again. It connects fine if hardwired, but when I try to join the Airport/ wireless network, I'm getting the same "there was an error connecting to the network "****"" (my network name)as others posting on here.
My friend, who had her g4 powerbook over shortly after my connection went out was able to connect to the same 1000HG no problem, so it truly does seem to lie in some incompatibility/ conflict....
the modem support people say that there's nothing wrong, and it's because of the Mac; the Mac people say it must be the modem. My MBP connected perfectly on two other wireless networks around town today...
    So what is the deal??
I do have a WEP password rather than WPA, so I will now look into changing this.
Any ideas/ solutions would be welcome.
    thanks,
    j
