Help copy large file from iPhone to PC

Hello Everybody.
I’m coding the Record application. However, I have problem with copying the file from iPhone device to the PC after recording. I used Attach File function on Email but it doesn’t allow with large size > 10MB file. I haven’t found any solution yet for this problem. iTune 9.0 has “Include Voice Memos” function, can i do the same with my application ? “Include My App” e.g.
Anybody knows other solution for this problem?
Thanks for read

You could check your approach against this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you are still having trouble you could try an app that will send it wirelessly, such as PhotoSync.

  • Error code 8084 when copying large files from VNX servers

    Hi,
We are experiencing problems when attempting to copy large files from our central VNX servers (EMC) using the connection format of smb://<host>/.  With Mavericks this will be SMB2, presumably.  Anything over a few MB in size fails with the error:
The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8084)
Looking in the Console logs we see the following:
kernel[0]: smb2_smb_read_write_fill: len got reduced, must be running low on credits
If we attempt this on OS X Mountain Lion or below we have no problems.
If, with Mavericks, we connect using the format cifs://<host>/ then file transfers work.
Has anyone come across this before?  Thinking I should also post a bug...
    Cheers,

  • Copying hangs when copying large files from DVD

I'm having trouble copying large files (>2GB) from DVDs to my built-in hard drive. When I drag the file icon from the DVD window to the desktop, the progress bar pops up almost immediately, and says "0 KB of 2.3 GB copied" and "Estimated time left: 1 minute" -- and then it just sits there, doing nothing. In some cases, after five minutes or so of inactivity, the copy finally begins... but most of the time it never does. Force-Quit doesn't help; the only way out is to do an emergency restart and try again.
This problem began when I upgraded to Tiger, and several members of my office group have been experiencing the same problem on their own computers as well.
I've poked around the forum looking for answers but the only thing I could find that looked related was a conflict between iSight and some third-party external hard drives... but none of us have iSight, and none of us are using third-party external drives, so clearly that's not the issue we'rehaving.
    Any help out there?

Michael, I occasionally notice anomolous behaviour when files get dragged between volumes. Mostly the copying window shows an accurate and immediate indication of what's going on, but other times it just looks like nothing's happening, the display never changes, yet, it is in fact copying the files over. Now, if you're copying 2gb files from DVD to HD, it's gonna take some time, more than 5 minutes, so I'm wondering how long you've left it before forcing it to quit?

  • Keep losing connection to Time Capsule while copying large files from Vista

I keep getting "Error 0x80070079: The semaphore timeout period has expired" while trying to copy large (1GB+) files from my Windows Vista Business 64 bits laptop (this OS is running on a MacBook Pro using BootCamp) wirelessly connected to a Time Capsule. The wireless connection to the Time Capsule is interrupted when this error occurs and then I can re-establish the connection. The problem seems to only occur when I copy large files or when I copy many files at once.

I believe that this problem is resolved as I describe here:

  • OS X 10.4.7 server: Samba leaking ram when copying large files from windows

    Hi.
    I'm having problems with:
Copying files from windows clients to OS X Server 10.4.7 uses up the RAM needed for the files to be copied.
If I copy a 3GB file, it uses 3GB of RAM
If I copy a 5GB file, it uses its 4GB of RAM, plus VM.
If I copy 11GB of files (that is several little files, plus some big by dropping a folder to the share), it consumes all the RAM the machine has, and because of VM paging, whatever other clients are reading from the disk (XRaid) start to have hiccups.
The RAM of the machine NEVER gets flushed after the copying has finished. So Samba is unusable as it is. I have four Xserves with 4GB of RAM, with 4 XRaids connected each one to each Xserve with its Apple Fiber Channel card and cables.
I already did the ack=0 thing, got the size of inet.tcp.sendspace and rcvspace to 8388608 and the buffer to 16777216.
The transfers rates are up to 70MB/s with 2 channel 1gb trunking, and at very sustained rates..
We are using these to edit video content (DV 25) in Sony Vegas with 2 or 3 clients for each server.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks very much.

  • Delete partially copied movie file from iPhone. Shows grayed out in Videos on the iPhone but it doesn't show up in iTunes.

    Hello.
I have synced my iPhone 4S with iTunes and I got an error while copying one movie. Now this movie shows up grayed out in videos on the iPhone but NOT in iTunes. Hence, I cannot delete this partially copied movie from my iPhone. And since it is grayed out, the right-to-left swipe does not work. I have resynced with "no movies" option so that every movie would be deleted and indeed every movie was deleted except for the problematic one. I rebooted the iPhone several times in case it was a glitch. No success. I even tried tools like iExplorer and DiskAid but I cannot find this **** file. Is there any way to delete this partially copied file from the iPhone without having to restore it?
    Regards,
    HawkeyeQ

    Hi adtsalmon,
You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Here's the link to the Movie Rentals FAQs site FYI:

  • Copy video file from iPhone 3GS to windows XP

I have a video on my iPhone which is about 18 mins long and 482MB in size. When I try to copy (from Windows explorer) and paste the file to my Windows XP system, it shows it is trying to copy the file but then nothing happens. It creates a zero byte file on my Windows system.
I even tried the 'scanner and camera wizard'. This program shows the progress bar but when it reaches 100% it gives me the message that 'The current picture cannot be copied. To copy this picture, click "Try Again". To stop copying, click "Cancel".'
I had other video files which copied successfully but were probably half the size of this file.
Could the reason be the file size? If the file size is the restriction, then there is no point in using the video feature to shoot continuous video.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The size of the file shouldn't make any difference as long as there is room on your PC for it. What I do is use the Camera Wizard and select the open to view files option. From there I just click on the files to locate the video I want to copy and either drag it to where I want it on the PC or copy and paste it there. If it's a larage file it may take a few seconds to copy over.

  • I cannot copy large files from my hard drive

My MacBook Pro 15 is on OS X 10.8.5 (12F37) and I reformatted my external hard drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) but cannot copy my virtual machine 53GB file from my hard drive to the external drive.

he wasn't real clear on exactly what virtual machine he was trying to move so i said that IF it's just a windows partition (not w/ parallels or VM fusion ) then he would need to reformat the drive to the format i suggested for it to move and still be used w/ the mac as well. but thanks for the additional information for those who may not have known it.
If it was a partition it would not be a VM file.
    This is what you said:
if you are trying to copy a virtual windows machine
I see no mention of a Windows partition here.
As I said before you should test your suggestions to ensure that they are correct, and you should do that prior to suggesting them, and It would help if you understood the difference between a file and a partition.

  • Can't copy large files from DVD

    Hi all,
I'm trying to copy a 4.3 GB .tar file from a DVD onto my harddrive, but it will only copy about 1 GB before I get the error
    Cannot read: Input/output error
I can copy smaller files just fine from the same DVD and other DVDs, but nothing too large.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

Brasero checks immediately after the burn. I presume your DVD is a bit older than one day . If not, you just burnt yourself a coaster.
I know there are some Windows programs to check the integrity of an optical disc, but I don't remember their names (nor do I know something like that for Linux).
I would do a few copy trials, with dd. If you always see it break on the same size and you have plenty of space left, then I think there really is a problem with the data integrity on your DVD. I have done copies with dd from optical media before, and I think you can be pretty sure the data is corrupt if dd can't pull it off.

  • Error copying large files from USB HDD to MyCloud

I am trying to copy a some large files (several GB) from a USB HDD to mycloud drive using the WD My cloud software as described in this post:http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-My-Cloud/Transferring-Large-Amounts-of-Data-to-the-My-Cloud-and-a-Coupl-e/td-p/620219but the copy grinds for some time and then fails. Is there a limit on the file size or amout of data that can be copied in one operation. I am using latest software and firmware. Windows 8.1 if that is relevant. Thanks in advance.

No, I'm using copy and paste within WD My Cloud for desktop app to avoid having to pull the files across the network. Source USB HDD is 2TB WD Elements and I am using the original USB 3 cable supplied with it connected direct into MyCloud device. I have also checked the USB disk with chkdsk while plugged into Windows. The files seem to copy if I do it over the network, but its very slow.Ah that was one small detail left out of your initial post that changes things. It is generally NOT recommended to connect a USB drive directly to the My Cloud if copying a large amount of files (or files in excess of 30 or more GB's). Slow transfer speed over the USB port on the back of the WD My Cloud units are a known issue. Search this site and you'll find lots of threads on it. The previous posts indicate better ways to copy the data from a external USB drive to the WD My Cloud.

  • Copy large videos from iphone 3gs to windows

    Hi,
I have a large 750 mb video on my phone that I am trying to copy to the computer. I have tried using the camera and scanner wizard and copy/paste in windows explorer but neither of them works. It produces a 0kb file on the computer. I have been able to successfully transfer videos upto 400 MB but this one doesn't seem to work. I googled around and other people seem to have the same problem but was unable to find a solution.
    Any help would be appreciated

  • Error message -36 when copying large  files from Firewire drive

I have kept several large audio files as backup on an external LaCie Firewire drive. When trying to copying them back, almost all of them starts to copy, then stops and (after a minute or so) report error message -36.
I have run both Apple's Disktools and the latest Diskwarrior, but no errors are reported. I gues the audio files must have become corrupted... What do you suggest that I do? The contain valuable audio information that I really don't want to get lost.

  • Help :- Send Large File From Server To Client

Hey guys, I am stuck with a problem.Hope u guys might be able to help me out. My problem is :-
From client i am doing an operation which results in calculation of results by server and saving a file on the server..But i want to see what results have been computed by the server and hence i want to stream that file back to the client..
The file may be of 100MB as well , that is, the size of the file may be huge.
I want u guys to tell me how to stream that file back to the client..I tried returning byte array which gets serialized and then received at client side but as i said the file may be huge so memory problem may arise, so returning byte[] from function is not a good solution..
I am looking something where server can send the file back to the client in chunks..Client keeps receiving these chucks and keep putting them in the file.
So how to make server send file in chunks??Also, i don't know the hostname and ports...so sockets i can't use...
Any Another way to do it...??
    is PipedStream a solution??
    Please guys, help me
    Thanks in advance

I knew about sockets but as i said i am able to send request to server by client by calling a remote method...There i haven't used sockets...RMI uses sockets, I assume you mean you don't access to the underlying socket.
So i wanted to know if we can without using sockets send file back to Client..I would have the RMI return the connection details where the result can be obtains, .e.g with hostname, port, and file name to use.
I would suggest trying to compress the stream as well (just wrapp the stream on the sender/reciever), especially for files over 1 MB.
Tell me something abt PipedStreams as well..If they are of any use here or not?I don't see how. PipedStreams can be used to share data between threads in the same process.
If RMI is your only choice you can perform a method which would return alot of data and have seperate methods to download portions of it.
    e.g.
public int loadBigFile(String filename); // returns the number of portions.
    public byte[] returnPortion(int n);
    int portions = rmi.loadBigFile("my-big-file.xml");
    for(int i=0;i<portions;i++) {
       byte[] bytes = rmi.returnPortion(i);
       // do something with bytes.
}You can have the server cleanup the file when the last portion is read.

  • Is it possible to transfer photos, files from iphone 5s to macbook pro via bluetooth?

Before I got the iphone 5s, I was using a Nokia phone.  I was able to transfer photos, files from my Nokia phone to macbook pro via bluetooth connections.  It was very simple and POSSIBLE (even though apple support staff said it was not possible to do so).  My macbook pro does NOT need to be paired with Nokia phone as long as it can DISCOVER the nokia phone and vice versa.
Hence, after i got the iphone 5s recently, I'd expected both devices (iphone 5s and macbook pro) to communicate and connect via bluetooth as easily as Nokia phone.  However, I was disappointed to find out the iphone 5s kept "searching" for discoverable device even though my macbook DISCOVERED the iphone!!  Thus, I was NOT able to transfer any files from these two devices.
Any apple technical people care to explain why BOTH are apple products cant work?  A Nokia phone and macbook can.  Very strange, isn't it?

Althought, you can use bluetooth to transfer photos, files from iPhone to Macbook,However,it is so slowly,if you want to quickly copy photos/files from iPhone to Mac,you can use tools or software to help you, such as iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer,This is a very professional tool,Hope this helps!

  • Unresponsive system when copying large files drive-to-drive (x86_64)

I'm running Arch x86_64 on a quad core Xeon processor/P35 motherboard w/ 4 gigs of RAM.  I also have two SATAII, 7200 RPM HDDs.  For the most part, Arch is a VERY responsive platform.  I am noticing some really odd unresponsiveness that only happens when I copy large files from one hdd to another hdd.
    Symptoms:
-Mouse cursor skips (doesn't move smoothly)
-Windows such as firefox or shell don't move smoothly across the screen if I move them
-Keyboard lag - as I type this post ) my fingers are going faster than the text is appearing
Once the copy is finished, everything is normal again.  I swear I read someone else reporting this behavior, I just can't find it. Two questions:
    1) Is normal for the x86_64 kernel?
    2) If not, what can I tweak to remedy it?
EDIT: Ack!  Found the post I remembered reading:

if the file is bigger than 4gig(uncompressed) then u need swap partition, as the first thing it does is copy the file to memory and if it overflows it is bad. then your server is 1/3 options, either server/middle/desktop. if it is server, it doesn't care what framerate u get on X. then there is the timer. I'm running mine at 300 but arch's default should be 1000. the higher it is the more it "checks" what needs to be done with files, events, etc. then there is the file system type and block size factor. if ur block size is really low like me(1024k) then ur hd has to write more times(on and off) just to write out the huge file. so for huge files, format with huge block size(4096k?) so that the hd does less work.
