Help creating a search

I created a document management section for our departments site (CF9). I'm asking for help creating a new part of the search, and will list all of the parts I am looking for help with, that way if you can only contribute to one part, it will get me that much closer to what I need. I already have a Title only search working, and added a second search that does both Title and Keywords. I am using cfindex and simply created a new collection for the Keywords and searched the two collections. Our staff will mostly search only Titles but wanted the option to search all content.
The next colletion will be for the content of the documents. The site will contain .doc and .docx files. All files are maintained in the same folder. There is a MS SQL database table that indicates if the file is in an archive status or active. The same table lists the document number and its extension.
So, what I want to do is query the database to see what files I want the index to scan. I need to dump the collection each night just after midnight and re-do the index. There will be documents added and archived on a regular basis and I don't want archived documents remaining in the collection.
Almost every document will contain common words such as the, and... so if a user searched for "the correct temperature" I don't want to retrieve all of the documents. How can I exclude common words?

I deleted the Verity and created the Solr collections. By the way, how do you pronounce that, Solar?
I still need help indexing the documents.
As I mentioned, there is a single folder of .doc or .docx files, but I only want to index the active ones. To determine the active ones I will do a simple db query first.
Is this possible? If not I will need to redo the way files are archived and move them to a different folder.

Help creating a search bar

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to insert a search bar into my website so that customers will be able to type in keywords (ie. "product name") and be sent to the appropriate pages. Could anyone tell me the best way to do this? I've looked around, and so far it seems like my options are PHP and google, and I don't really know which one I should use or if there are more that I am missing.

Creating a search help for a field in selection screen

Hi All,
There are 3 fields in the selection screen. They are
 WERKS
 DATE
 MATNR
Enter a value WERKS = 2465.
When I press the drop down menu for MATNR, it should only give the material number available for 2465.
I think, I should create a search help for it.
Kindly help me to create a search help for the material number based on the above condition.

A problem creating a Search Help against domain table dd07v...

At present I use FM DDIF_DOMA_GET to retrieve the Domain Values for a given field/domain. I then populate a drop-down list box with these values and use in a conventional dynpro.
However, what I would like to do is create a search help against the field characteristics which access table dd07v and retrieve the values for the domain. I'm stuck on the search help part because I don't know how to define the domain name within the search help so that the correct dd07v values are retrieved..
Do you think this is possible, or should I give up now.?.

Problem resolved. You can hard code values, like the domain name within the search help.
Although I have found that if you don't use a search help and you have domain values then your drop-down list values will be automatically populated from the domain values for the field. At least in my dynpro it does.

Hi,
you need to create OData service which will retrieve (search) the required information and then need to create UI5 application to consume it.
you can refer this blog How to Implement Value Help (F4) with SAP UI5 which covers both parts.

i am creating a search help based on a column's table.
This column contain 71000 rows with 3 values, when i check the search help i get 71000 rows with hthe 3 values. What can I do in order to create a search heko based on this column that will contain only these 3 values??

Move those values to an internal table and select distinct values from that internal table. Pass the itab to the function module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST

Creating customized search helps in Dialog Programming

Hello people I have a little predicament here. I need to create search help restricting the results.
Like lets say I want to create a search help that select material numbers and name for a specific material group. Then use that as a seach help.
Right now Im playing around with function module HELP_VALUES_GET_WITH_TABLE but it seems to open right when you access call screen.
Also Since this is dialog programming I am using screen painter. And I need to assign the search help in an I/O Field.

Service desk error creating support message "help- create support message"

I'm customizing SM 7.0 SP Stack 15 service desk scenario. I'm in a VAR SAP, so It's a mandatory scenario.
I've done all basic settings from General Settings, Connection to SAP, Online Documentation, ...,
Business Partners, iBase, Basic BC-Sets for Configuration, Number Ranges. After them , for Scenario-Specific Settings-> Service Desk->Service Provider I've done all these steps. At SAP System Solution Manager, I've created solutions at dswp transaction and EW Alert are centralized these steps works. Transaction notif_create works and iBase are well mantained.
The problem is when I try create a support message from satellite SAP system. I logged With a SAP user which is BP, key user and has authorizations in a satellite system and I choose help->create support message, so a pop-up appears and I fill the fields, and I press button (Save/Send). An error appears:
Error in Local Message System: Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible. Message was Not Created
In order solve the error I review:
- The satellite SAP system is at the iBase installed components.
- I've Assign Number Range for ABA notifications at SLF1 transaction.
- I've Checked number range for Service Desk Message at SLFN transaction.
- I've configured ABA Message transaction DNO_CUST01, transaction DNO_CUST04
- (satellite system) Transaction sm30, table BCOS_CUST:
   Appl.            +       Dest.                                  +                     +
   OSS_MSG   W     SM_SMGCLNT010_BACK    CUST620          1.0
   TST_CUS                                                        0120009939
   RFC SM_SMGCLNT010_BACK works, SM recollects EW Alert from this satellite system

SAP_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER according SAP NOTE 834534
SAP_BC_CUS_ADMIN       according SAP NOTE 834534
SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_CREATE

All these roles are mantained.
- I've review SAP Notes 834534, 864195, 621927(I haven't applied this SAP Note because it's older)

When I try create a SAP message via help->create suuport message, I get the same error so I run help->create support message in a satellite system so I run help->create support message in Solution Manager
system. Also, a dump is generated in Solution Manager when I try create support message or from satellite or from solution manager.

    The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 41
    of the (Include) program "CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CM004".

How to create a search with multiple criteria

I've a table that contain staff information. (name, dept. position, ext, email...etc)
I've created a search page that allow the user to search any field. The result should appear in the same page
first i've created the form:
enter staff First_Name:
enter Dept. :
select position:
submit button
Then I've created the record set that select all the feilds from the table, now i need a help in the criteria, This is what I used:

WHERE First_Name LIKE %colname% AND Dept = coldept
for both colname and coldept
default = 1
runtime value = $HTTP_POST_VARS['First_Name'] - $HTTP_POST_VARS['Dept']
It seems to work fine when i enter all the values in the search form. but what if i left some fields empty? In other word how can I add (All in the drop down menu and accept empty value for the text search)??

The simplest way to do this is to add a wildcard character to the end of coldept and make the field optional.
SELECT *
FROM tblstaff
WHERE First_Name LIKE %colname% AND Dept LIKE coldept%
If the department field is left empty, it will match all departments.
By the way, you should not be using $HTTP_POST_VARS or $HTTP_GET_VARS. It's obsolete code, and will break on a modern installation of PHP. Use $_POST and $_GET instead.

I need to create a 'navigation system' which at the moment is a series of Flash .swf files uploaded to a Dreamweaver HTML page.
Now I need to get them working together like a 'tag' or a search system, but I don't want to get a server involved.
Is it possible to create something that operates like a website but without being linked to a server?

How can I create a search filter on my muse project like the 'sort by' function of this website? http://trufcreative.com/work
By that I mean be able to narrow down the content displayed on a single page (preferably with an animation) without having the switch pages or reload the browser.
