Help! Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Sound Card -

Hello. I've just recieved my new soundcard. It is the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7. Sound Card - OEM. (Located here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...atid=&subcat=)
My motherboard is a Asus A8N SLi se.
Now, I have put it in my motherboard, and just tried to install the drivers. I got an error though. It said "No compatible creative product detected." So I downloaded the drivers off the Creative site, and that did not help either. I disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS, and yet it still did not work. I tried plugging in the soundcard into each of the soundcard ports on my motherboard, and none of them detected the card.
I am sick of using onboard, and would like to get this problem fixed.
Some additional information:
The back audio/microphone ports on my motherboard never worked. I have been using the front sockets on my case. I see cables running from my motherboard to the front of my case. Maybe one of those cables need to go into my soundcard in order for it to work? I'm not sure which though, so I didn't try it, just incase.
Here are some screenshots of what I'm getting. They might help.
Drivers from the Creative site: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/4528/gayap9.jpg
Drivers from the Creative CD: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/3649/gaycdam5.jpg
Unknown Device in my Device Manager: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9924/unknownoj8.jpg
Now, I have no other creative parts in my computer. So this should be the soundcard, right?
Thanks in advanced for any replies.

Does the cable from the MB to the front I/O panel simuliar to this one? I installed a Audigy2 ZS in my other system and connected the black cable with the 0 pin connector to the card to use my front phone/mike jacks. Also in your device manager I see the Realtek AC97 still listed. When I installed the XM card in my 600 I disabled it in the BIOS so the entry does not show up in mine just the SB XF-I is displayed.

  • Is Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card compatible with Dell deskt

Im considering buying the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card to use with a Dell desktop XPS 40, but recently read a forum message on another page that there was a issue with installing on a Dell Tower but no problems with installing on a laptop
any help is appreciated if there are any compatibility issues with using this sound card on a Dell desktop, Thanks
the main reason I would like to upgrade to this card is so my pc doesnt use the integrated audio which Id like better quality performance with a sound card and also dont want to install a internal card on the system

    joaolfb,
Audigy 2 NX will need to be connected with the power adaptor inorder to run. USB will not be enough to sustain the power consumption of the sound card.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - No Sound

$Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - No SoundP First let me start off by saying I've had this card (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS) for a few years and it's always done this on my comptuer. It works fine on my parents' Dell. My motherboard is an Asus nI8-SLi. I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Home and meet all of the system requirements for sound card. The piece of junk sound card that was in the computer finally broke down and I would like to see if I can get the Audigy 2 ZS installed.
I've tried installing the card from a fresh reformat, installing the card after reformatting and installing Microsoft Updates and I've tried a number of different drivers. I've also disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS.
When I plug in my headphones it makes the familiar static noise you hear when you plug in headpones. Also, on the cord of my headphones you can mute and change the volume. When I do either of these I hear a bit of static until I stop doing it. However, when it comes to sound: music, games, voice chat, the annoying jingle during the Windows XP welcome screen, there is none.
    Please help!

(Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - No Sound? Try this:
This is a software package created by a user, Daniel K. which includes most all of the software updates as well as the newest or second to newest driver for your card. This will install everything you need to use that card.
Even if you had the original install Cd, this package is better, as it fixes some of the original incompatibilites with the software and includes their newer versions as well.
    http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-...28/td-p/535299
The package is great. It installs fairly quickly for a package of its size. I have used it myself for quite a while so I know that it works very well.
After installation be sure that you have at least? a two speaker set plugged into the green jack on the back of the card. Sometimes people plug their speakers into the wrong jack and then feel they have no sound for an unknown reason.

  • Sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound probl

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I also dont want to have to go out and by the x-fi elite pro tomarrow unless I absolutely have to.Message Edited by TasteOfChaos on 0-0-20080:02 PM

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

  • My onboard soundchip vs. Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX external sound system

    Hi,
I have a Sony PCV-RZ504 computer which has an onboard soundchip (Analog Devices AD98B 6-bit CD-quality stereo sound AC 97 2.). I use a Logitech Z-2200 speakerset (2 x 40 w) with subwoofer (20 w). I'm not fully satisfied with the sound quality and I think that a better soundcard would do justice to my speakerset. I'm not sure how the quality of my soundchip is, but I think that the sound from the speakers would be better if I would have a better soundcard?
I prefer not to open my computer and I just saw this Sound Blaster? Audigy? 2 NX external sound system: http://uk.europe.creative.com/produc...04&product=903
Can someone tell me if I can expect a better sound quality with this system than I have now with my onboard soundchip?
I see that this system deli'vers up to 7. surround but I use two speakers. Would it still be an improvement for me?
If I would use this sound system would I have to remove or disable my onboard soundchip? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Rik.

A dedicated soundcard will almost always be an improvement on the onboard models. To disable the onboard sound you disable it in the bios sreen. Your manual will tell you how to accrees bios,

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Sound Card H

I have been using this card for over year now and its a great card. I have all the latest updates for it. But for some reason when i turn on or restart my computer the Creative Volume Control Icon does not come on in the task tray when the computer boots up. It is set in the start up list and in the Surround Mixer settings.
Can some one please help me on this?
    Thanks

    cookiemonster,
Open the surround mixer program and click at the down triangle that's just next to the "?" at the top right hand corner. There's some options there for you to display the volume icon.

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Prob

Recently I've purchased the Creative Power Pack Pro 7., it included the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Creative GigaWorks 7. S750
<SPAN class=textbluebold>speakers, and <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard. I've installed my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card and setup my Sound Blaster GigaWorks S750 speakers but so far after many attempts haven't gotten them to work. I've tried all updates off the Creative site and gone through the cards settings. For some reason in the speaker settings it only lists Headphones, 2., 4. and 5. speaker settings, leaving out 7.. I've checked all plugins and hookups, and am stuck for now. I have a brand new Sony Vaio computer, so i know that my computer is not the problem. I read through all the forms and I was only able to find one other question like mine, one person answered saying that the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is not compatible with 7. speakers. I have no clue why Creative would sell the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and GigaWorks S750 7. speakers if they are not compatible with each other. Someone please help me. Thanks.

    Hi
I have PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook audio card with my Thinkpad laptop.
I have bought Onkyo HT- S580 Hometheater system. I was hoping to connect the Line out, Line out2, Line out3 jacks to the receiver's Front, Surround(rear) and Center in jacks.
The color on the Onkyo Recei'ver end are Center - Green , Surround(rear) - Blue , Front - White
The color on the Creative Card end are Center- Orange , rear - Black , Front - Green
There is color difference between these two ends . Is it advisable to connect these two jacks ?
Please recommend the suitable cable type and name for this connection
    Thanks

Colours may vary --> just connect by the instructions from both manuals.

  • Vista and Sound Blaster Audigy

Okay I am getting desperate. I have been searching all over for this odd occurence but I havent found anything. I am running a dual core amd processor with Vista 64-bit, 4 GB RAM, and a Sound Blaster Audigy. I purchased this card off of ebay, so I dont exactly know the model (it is the one with a firewire ( ) port on the actual card, and a tan/white i/o box that goes in my cd dri've bay; the box just plainly says Soundblaster Audigy). Anyway, the card had been working great with the drivers at first, and I then had a kernal file fail on me. Well, after recovering successfully with the Windows disc, I came back to find out my drivers had messed up. I tried many combinations of uninstalls/reinstalls, different packages, etc and nothing seems to work. However, the odd part is that sound works within the windows environment (system sounds/clicks/etc), and also through the line in on the breakout box, AND in FLStudio/Reason/Windows Media Player. However, I am not able to get sound through flash movies, Winamp, PC Games, and media things of the sort. I was wondering if anyone else has had this odd occurence, and knew how to fix it. Thank you.
    PS
The error I get on Winamp is Bad Directsound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. (I have also messed around with the Winamp output with no luck).

    Try here.
the above driver pack from Daniel Kawakami is top notch and works very well. Good bass response and I NEVER had a problem when using these in XP, Vista, Vista sp and later Vista 64 Sp and 2.
