  • Cannot print from IMac or Dell Latitude Laptop on Canon MX330 printer via Airport Extreme.

Trying to connect a Canon MX330 printer to an IMac and Dell Latitude laptop via Airport extreme and having no luck.
All devices recognize the printer, but when I try to print from the IMac it says that the printer is offline, even though it is not. The printer status on the IMac says offline until I clear the printer queue and then the status goes online.
When I try to print from the Dell laptop the printer reacts, but nothing prints.
I have run through all of the troubleshooting in the support section online. Any advice?

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the  AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at thisiFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

  • I cant download all my iPhone photos onto my Dell Latitude laptop. I get the impression that Apple are trying to force me to buy iCloud space in order for me to do this. If so then I'm done with Apple products. I would rather buy a Samsung in the fut

If you cant read what I've written above then your system is just pathetic. At my age, I don't need to be instructed on "how to write a good question". Why must a brief detailed  technical question be summarized? Why cant I do the supposedly simple task of downloading "all" of my photos from my 64g iPhone 5s onto my Dell Latitude E6410 laptop in one simple press of the button process? Instead my Laptop is always trying to download mega gigabytes of all my laptop photos onto my iPhone. I am now totally convinced that the Apple Corporation has implemented a scheme trying to "force" me, and every other Apple customer, to buy more iCloud storage instead of allowing us the cheaper option of storing our own photos on our own lap tops and our own external hard drives. If this is the case then Apples tactics are back-firing, and I for one, will never buy another complicated, user-unfriendly, rotten capitalistic Apple product again. If there is a simple way of downloading all of my photos onto my laptop in one simple move then why cant it "simply" show you how to do it, like all the other companies smart phones do? From one **** of an irate customer. K.I.S.S. or lose customers. Don't try to rip us off financially, with devious money making schemes, the general public will respond accordingly and you WILL lose market share.

Go buy a Samsung if its suits you better then and don't be rude these are user forums !
Give Google more information about you what you do where you are etc....... TO TARGET adverts at YOU via Android at the same time.
Or whats wrong with the FREE photo stream conduit that over air transfers images to your pc pictures folder (And you don't need to buy any extra storage ever) the images just transfer !
Also what is so difficult with plugging in to a USB socket and having images automatically uploaded/downloaded into your Pictures folder ?
Unless of course your PC USB is a slow 1.1 socket !
True the sync process is all encompassing rather then delta but it does mean true syncing

  • Have a new Dell Latitude with Adobe X Standard pre-loaded.  Purchased upgrade to Adobe XI Pro today

Have new Dell Latitude laptop with Adobe X Standard pre-loaded.  Purchased upgrade to Adobe XI Pro today and have Serial #.  Installed the upgrade successfully, but it is asking for the Serial # of the previous version...  I don't have that Serial# and in the process of the upgrade it unistalled the old version so don't really have a place to look back to.  What next?

    Hi Dan,
From where did you order the older Acrobat X Standard?
If it was a boxed product then the serial number must be behind the case, else if it was downloaded, login to your Adobe account and check the same.
Else contact Customer care or Chat with a tech support and they would be able to help you.

  • Dell Latitude connectivity

I have my AEBS set up in my home office on the second floor, my iMac is connected to it via ethernet cable. When I ran my iMac wirelessly on the network my connectivity on the internet was s l o w, took forever to download any web page (SBC Global is my provider)...I don't have a problem having it hardwired to the base station, but at the same time with wireless capabilities it makes me wonder why?
Anyway the more pressing issue is connecting my laptop. I have a Dell Latitude laptop for work purposes and when I try to connect to the wireless network here at home the laptop detects the network, at full strength, but reports a proble when I try to connect. Any advice? Thanks in advance for your help!

Just a quick note...I figured out the issue regarding my speed when running my iMac wirelessly...I just tried changing my channel in Airport Utility from "Automatic" or "1" as I read this in another thread and it worked awesome. I changed to channel 8 and it seems my connection is faster than before.
I'm still looking for solutions though to my Dell Laptop problem. To be more specific I'm running a Dell Latitude D520...when running wirelessly and if I try finding my AEBS with Airport Utility it does not locate it; however my wireless card detects the network I have set up...even knows that it is security enabled. When I try to connect I get the "Unable to Connect message". Now if I connect to my AEBS via ethernet cable I can find the AEBS in Airport Utility and can connect to the internet, etc...

  • Dell Latitude E6410 Laptop for PPCC editing?

I'm thinking of purchasing a Dell Latitude E6410 Laptop for mobile editing when I travel.  My question is would it be sufficient to use for editing on PPCC?  It will have an Intel Core I5 processor and 8gb of RAM.

I've personally used a e6410 with Premiere Pro CS5 with 8GB of RAM and while it does "run" Premiere Pro, it is FAR away from what I would deem a good laptop for Premiere Pro. This model is years old and the newer models do several things that help with Adobe a lot: take more RAM (16GB is much better than 8GB for PPro), drives are faster (SSDs much more common, my e6410 had a 256GB SSD and not many did back when this model was born 4 yrs ago), and as Bill already pointed out much more cable 22nm die quad core CPUs with hyperthreading (so, 8 cores available to PPro for editing).
You do not mention your workflow, but obviously editing DV would be much more acceptable on marginal hardware than trying to edit AVCHD or GoPro 4k!
I would expect a used e6410 to be worth about $250 today (street price). I really don't know why you would buy one now really? You can buy a sub-$1000 Asus and with a few modifications put together a really good "new" laptop so that may be a better option for you today.

    Jim

  • Installing Solaris 10 via external CD drive on Dell Latitude D800 Laptop

Hello all, I am trying to install Solaris 10 via external CD drive on Dell Latitude D800 Laptop. After the GRUB menu it begins to load, displaying the " . . . . . ." and hangs about 1/4 way accross the screen. When attempting the install from a DVD instead of a CD the installation hangs on the same screen even sooner. Has anyone encoutered this problem?

    Hello Alex,
no, you can't use USB devices on SPARC as boot device.
The OBP (even updated ones) contains only support for the USB keyboard, but none for USB mass storage (which requires a device driver). The integrated USB ports are for slow devices like keyboard and mouse.
Using an external SCSI DVD-ROM works. Another choice is an installation via network.

  • DELL Latitude + Apple Extreme Airport= help please

ok i recently received a DELL Latitude, good condition, given to me with Wireless-G notebook Linksys program+card to find wifi.
I have three computers total, two of which work fine, my Windows XP and my iBook G4, then my Airport Extreme.
    Heres the problem;
The wifi connects, i enter my wifi password, and im in, now, i dont have internet.
"You are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found"
    ^ exact quote...
    any advice?

Here's something I discovered and I need to test it more because towards the end of use for the connection it started acting weird.
I had three (3) dollar sign ($) characters in my SSID. I removed these and the problem vanished. I was able use my wireless and Nortel VPN software to connect to the corp. offices yesterday for a rather substantial length of time - a lot more than before. However towards the end of the day the old problem reappeared, but might have been due to an outage.
I also wonder if Com-not-so-tasic Comcast might have been to blame. I plan on testing this more over the weekend.
Are you using dollar signs ($) or other odd characters in your SSID?

  • How do I install the builtin graphics drivers for my Dell Latitude D620 in Windows 8.1?

Hi, I would like to be guided through the correct driver installation for the in-built integrated graphics driver for my "Dell Latitude D620" Laptop PC which is running Windows 8.1 Pro (32-bit). By default, Windows 8.1 includes ans installs the
"Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver" to maintain compatibility with the OS. I would like to install the original and genuine graphics driver supplied by Dell Inc. (not by Microsoft) on Win 8.1, how can I achieve this? please
    help.

Yes, Dell will have better answer for this issue
Since this PC quite old, I suggest contact Dell
Based on product spec, your Laptop maybe using 256MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 110M TurboCache or
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Up to 224MB shared5)
    http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/latitude-d620/pd
there is no driver for Windows 8.1 32 bit
    http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/latitude-d620
This is Windows 8.1 system requirement, I suggest discuss with Dell

Video driver in the image was originally out of date, changed the driver to the latest and greatest available straight from Intel for the Intel HD 3000 graphics card and this error still appears.  Driver 9.17.10.3517 exceeds the minimum requirement
for Lync 2013.  The faulting module is related to the graphics driver, but reinstalling does nothing, uninstalling and then reinstalling does nothing, it cannot further be upgraded.  This same error affects all the Dell latitude e6520's.  It
also only occurs in Windows 8.1.  The windows 7 image using the exact same driver version (both the outdated driver and latest driver) works just fine with Lync 2013.
Running Lync with administrative permissions does nothing, disabling hardware acceleration did nothing.  None of our laptops come with the bluetooth adapter, and also updated all other drivers such as chipset and soundcard.  Error occurs on the
RTM version of Lync, and Lync with SP1 fully updated.  The rest of Office 2013 works fine.  I am currently at a loss here short of telling the help desk to not image E6520's with Windows 8.1 because Lync 2013 doesn't work on it.  But there has
to be a reason for it.  Calling out for some suggestions here.
    Thanks!

We also have the same issue with Dell E6420 running Windows 8.1. Lync application does not respond after start-up. Did you try looking for the error file under
    C:\users\username\appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Reportarchive
it should create file like AppHang_lync.exe_some numbers. search for the latest one.
Interesting, I don't have any 6420's handy but figured the issue would exist on those also.  I looked up the location you mention and see many crash logs for Lync.  Not really sure what the error is, just says it stopped working.

  • Trying to image a Dell Latitude D630

I am trying to image a Dell Latitude D630 laptop using PXE. It is set to PXE
boot in the BIOS. I select Maint Mode when the imaging screen comes up.
Output starts running on the screen as normal then all the sudden the screen
goes black and nothing else happens. I have to end up powering off the
    laptop.
I saw a previous post where someone was having the problem and suggeted
toggling between CRT and LCD display on the laptop but this does nothing.
We are running Zen 6.5 SP2.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help Marcus.
I tried adding the two lines but it did not work. I was finally able to
resolve my issue but using the Zen 7 SP1 Boot CD along with TID 3421576 to
get the laptop imaged. It looks like it is time to upgrade my Zenworks!
    Thanks again.

  • Solaris 10 x86 X configuration for Dell D800 laptop

I installed solaris 10 on my Dell Latitude D800 laptop (it is listed on the BigAdmin HCL for Solaris 10). After installation resolution was low (probably 640x480). I searched web and found some info
on web for a Linux configuration and used that as
guideline to setup xorg.conf (using xorgconfig utility).
    I used following setting :
    Protocol ExplorerPS/2
    Device /dev/kdmouse
    Video 1024x768 @ 70 Hz
    HorizSync 31.5-57.0
    VertRefresh 50-70
With this setting, initial login screen doesn't fit the
display. If I checkin, server starts and display is OK,
but mouse control is erratic (can't properly place/move around mouse). The mouse suddenly
wraps around from middle of the screen.
    I tried enabling/disabling emulate3 button,
virtual display, depth and limited max resolution to
1024x768 . None of this helps, very difficult to
start a window even hard to exit out X windows,
    since mouse doesn't behave properly.
I also have a USB mouse (logitech optical mosue,
with a wheel : part no M-BJ58). USB mouse support
might already be there but not sure what the
    protocol/device would be.
Does anyone have a sample xorg.conf file for
Dell D800 running Solaris 10 ? Any idea what I need
    to do ?

When logging in, log in to command line, su to root, then run /usr/X11/bin/xorgconfig and answer the questions about your hardware. This will make an xorg.conf file and save it to /etc/X11.Try using a mouse setting of auto, I had to do this as IMPS/2 just sent my mouse haywire.

  • Linux on the Dell Latitude E6400

    Hi,
as there are probably more people than me out there using this laptop i thought it might be a good idea to collect problems/workarounds etc in a nice thread.
For my old Inspiron 6000 there used to be such a thread on the gentoo forums and it was really a great help to get things working.
(I am using the nvidia version, so if there are some problems with the intel graphics please post, so that we can collect them :-))
    So lets get to it.
    Known Problems:
    Video
quick seems to have problems with the intel video, so if anyone has the intel version and has everything running, please help us out
    Input
Q: The dualpoint produces erratic movement when eg touching the touchpad while using the trackpoint.
A: There is a patch at the lkml, it implements the 9 byte package format and seems to fix the issues for me[0]. Compiles against 2.6.27-29
Q: Pointstick settings, scrolling with 3rd mouse button
A: add the following to an appropriate hal fdi file
    <match key="info.product" string="DualPoint Stick">
    <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheel" type="string">true</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelButton" type="string">2</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelTimeout" type="string">200</merge>
    </match>
    Audio related
As of 2.6.29-rc7 : add the following line to eg /etc/modprobe.d/options to make everything work
    options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m4-1
If you don't want to upgrade your kernel: have a look here
Q: The Internal mic doesn't work.
A: in the playback tab of alsamixer set 'input source' to 'digital'
in the capture tab enable one of the capture lines and set the apropriate 'input source' to 'front mic'
Q: The in/out jacks of the dock don't work
A: use import0/import1 from the capture tab of alsamixer to get the output of front/headphone cloned to the dock output,
ex: you want to have output only from the dock: mute front, enable headphone, enable mixer1
    misc
    Q: Bluetooth - Dell Wireless 370 isn`t working.
    A:
    $ pacman -S bluez
    $ /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start
    #make sure bluetooth led shine
    $ hid2hci
    $ hcitools dev

These are all problems i've had so far, if you encountered others or have solutions, please share them :-)

Okay, maybe I'm too naive, but I'm using Arch on a Dell Latitude D620 which is the pre-predecessor of the E6400, so this might help you as well.
My mic didn't work at first either, but I just went to my KDE 4.2 Mixer --> configure channels and ticked the checkbox "Capture" and "Digital". Then back in the mixer interface I chose "front mic" from the input source dropdown menu and ticked the "Capture" checkbox.
These might help you as well when it comes to sound:
    http://ubuntu-utah.ubuntuforums.org/sho … p?t=616845
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=51246
In my /etc/rc.conf the modules look like this:
    MODULES=(slhc tg3 snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-hda-intel
    soundcore !pcspkr !snd_pcsp !bcm43xx ndiswrapper)
That worked for me under KDE 4.2. From your post I realize that you're probably a far more experienced user than I am, but maybe my noobish tipps might help you anyway (if you're using KDE 4). Sometimes it's the small things...
    Take care,
