Help: do you know how this flash design was made?
Hi,
I am planning to do some portfolio site using flash and need
help how to start.
I have seen some sites including like

If you click "Let's look closely" and pop-up window opens.
This flash design is what I like to know.
Could you give me some basic idea how to start this kind of
flash design?
It looks like
-if click zoom in buttom, image zoom in, and at the same
time, a kind of guide box in the small image appears, and I can
click+drag the guide box through the image.
This kind of design is used on some other museum sites and
portfolio sites. It seems like very useful design.
Do I need to know action scripts for this design? Any advice
or suggestion would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
PS: In case if I cannot talk about a specific web site like
this in this Forum, please let me know.

How do you know what week your macbook was made?
I am very concerned about the discoloration on my new macbook and I have heard that if it was made before a certain week that apple will not fix the problem, so I would like to know what week my macbook was made.
Quick question, how do you know if you have the "new batch" (the units that solve the discoloration and heat problems)?
They had to customize mine because they didn't have any already "configured-to-order" in stock. I should get it in 5-6 business days. Does that mean mine is coming off the new batch? -
STRANGE problem with sound in SWF files...Please help if you know how...

Okay, so, I recently learned how to use Adobe InDesign to create a book. there is a lot a still don't know. When I export my document as a SWF file, it works great and has sound and animations where it should. However, if I move that SWF to a new location, such as my desktop or uploading it to an e-mail, it looses all the sound information. To add sound to each page, I added a hidden object to each page that was the sound file so that I could attach it to a button. It seems that it is loosing that sound file if I move it to a new location. Any ideas or solutions?UPDATE: I have learned that my problem is related to a "resourse folder" which must go wherever the file goes in order for it to have sound. This is a bit inconvinient for me, as my client is computer illiterate. I really want to find a way to just embed the sound into a file that you can just open and play. To the best of my knowlege, SWF format is the only format that allows for the page turning animation. Does anyone know a way to embed the sound into the SWF file or am I SOL here?

I have been trying for months to find someone who can use
flash, who can help me, with no luck.
I need my links on my website updating, just a couple of them
need the text changing as i need
to change the name/title of some pages. I have tried to do it
myself (using a trial version of flash,
as i dont have flash). the site was made using dreamweaver.
the files are .FLA
and before anyone says 'get the person who made the site to
do it'....He wont, ive tried.
when i tried to change them myself i cocked them up and now

I can't seem to turn off my assistant. It talks to me constantly (or on mute) and it goes through each box individually. This makes it difficult to navigate myself through pages. Please, if you know how to turn it off, help.
In 10.6 or earlier go to: Apple / System Preferences / Universal Access and turn off Voice Over.
In 10.8 go to: Apple / System Preferences / Accessibility / VoiceOver and uncheck the box for Enable VoiceOver. -

Hello My Fellow Flashophiles
So, I will bow down to you if you know how to help me with
this one.
I have a MovieClip in my Flash file which emulates a
signature being drawn by animating a mask that covers over a bit
more of the underlying bitmap (of the actual, static signature)
frame by frame. I'm interested in allowing the color of the static
signature in the bitmap to be set dynamically. Here's the
pseudocode I've come up with so far:
- Access the bitmap in the MovieClip
- Replace (somehow) every black pixel in the bitmap (the
signature is black, the background white) with a pixel that is the
chosen color
- addChild the MovieClip to the main timeline
I am also considering separating the bitmap from the
MovieClip and just setting the MovieClip as its mask
dynamically....
Any ideas on any part of this? You're rad!

So, yes, I decided it would be best to strip the bitmap out
of the mc. Instead, I load it programmatically, apply the threshold
method (I
knew there had to be such a function! -- thanks, Beech!),
then set the animation as the mask programmatically. Note to
Cbeech: the colors for both the bground and the signature are
selected via the sampling method you helped me with before.

A lot of work for modest results, but I suppose that's the
name of the game. I'm not complaining, tho. My understanding grows
geometrically, and it's fun!

I am trying to change my credit card details on Itunes as I have moved to NZ and closed down the credit card in Australia. There is $5 left to pay on the card. It will not let me update my address to NZ or put in my new credit card details. HELP!!!!!
It says I have to provide a credit card in the Australia before I can clear my $5 credit card debt and I have now cancelled my card in Australia and don't have another one!
Do you know how I can change my address to NZ and then change my billing to my new credit card in NZ and pay the $5 bill.

I just upgraded to Lion. I just installed iLife'11 last night. When I import photos into iMovie (version 9.0.4.) , it imports the same photo over and over as if it were the ones I selected. Not even one of the photos selected!! The thumbnais show that unselected photo, if I preview then I just see the preview screen all black.
I even tried making an iPhoto album and importing straight from there. Exact same thing. I have restarted the application, restarted the computer, and googled half-to-death. No answers.
Do any of you know how to fix this?
I am working on OS X Lion (10.7.1) , a 2009 15" MacBook Pro. 4GB Memory. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4GB Memory 1067 MHz DDR3.

still can't figure out how to make a clean bassline on garageband.
i use synthbass, tried multiband compressor, filter, EQ, etc but can't make it loud without a very noticeable distortion/unwanted vibration.

The bass choices are limited it seems. Maybe you need a JamPack or something else. See if you can find some bass on one of HT's links here:

If you can't get enough volume out of the track maybe try duplicating the track and copying the region over to it so it's doubled.
Have you tried the AUGraphicEQ or the Visual EQ?
Or maybe someone with specific synth bass experience will troll by and have another suggestion.

Don't know how this happened and can't fix it help.Double tap with THREE fingers to turn zoom off. Then go into: Settings>General>Accessibility and turn it off for good.
