  • How to create a global query view

    Hi,
How to save a query view as global,if user A was to create a view 'V1' , user B should be able to see 'V1' in his list of query views.
Currently i have created views using bex Analyzer and using the save function in the query designer, but these views are local to the user and cannot be opened by other users.
In 3.5 we had an option to save view as global from Analyzer. We are on SP11
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Kiran,
The reason i want to create a global view is to use it as a data provider in a web template, the problem is if i were to create a view the view being local to my id will not be seen by other users,so if the view needs to be edited in the future it would have to be done by me, if it was global any user can modify the view.
A view saved in bex portfolio is a bookmark and it as saved on the portal and cannot be opened through query designer.Any work arounds??
    Thank You.

  • Local formula in query view

    Dear all,
I create query view in bex analyzer.
when I create the query view, I add local formula.
I use the query view in WAD.
The problem is when I run the WAD, my local formula is gone.
is there a setting to show my local formula in WAD ?
    please advice
    Regards,
    -Dedys

    Hi,
There is no seeting as such in WAD.
Just check that you are includeing the correct query view.
I would suggest just close your query designer after saving the changes in view.
After that open the WAD and include the query view again as data provider. It will show the current save version of view.
Some times while including in WAD it picks up the last version of object. SO just try this once.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,

  • Urgent : OBIA - Handling multiple Global, Local and Document Currencies

    All,
I need input on how to configure multiple currency codes in DAC for OBIA 7.9.6.x
My client's business goes around the the world and with multiple local currencies. They also need reporting currency to be multiple like in Euro, USD etc.
I went through a couple of threads in this forum, like -
Re: Configuring Global Currencies in BI Apps 7.9.6 for EBS 11.5.10 Source
Re: How we are using Global, Local and Document Currencies  in DAC.
But I have some confusion regarding the configuration of DAC's 3 Global currency codes.
In order to fulfill my requirement - should I add additional codes in DAC?
Basically How am I supposed to handle multiple Local,Document and Global currencies? And then possible changes in rpd/reports required also?
    Regards,
    Krish

Currencies are discussed in the Setup and Configuration Guide here:
7.1.1.2 How to Configure Global Currencies
To configure the global currencies you want to report in your warehouse:
In the DAC Client, display the Design view.
For more information about logging into the DAC, see Section A.1, "How to Log Into the DAC Client".
Select a container from the drop down list to the right of the Execute button.
Display the 'Source System Parameters' tab.
Locate the following parameters and set the currency code values for them in the 'Value' box:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency).
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency).
    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency).
Make sure that you spell the currencies as they are spelled in your source OLTP system.
    Save your changes.
As far as for PLP items, those are Post Load Processing elements that perform cleanup tasks after the Base Warehouse tables have been loaded. They should never be modified and frankly run without any issues provided the rest of the plan executes properly. Do you have a specific quesiton about a PLP?

  • Installing jdeveloper online help documents(html) locally ?

I would like to view the jdeveloper help documents outside jdeveloper
how can I install the Jdeveloper online help(http://otn.oracle.com:8877/jdeveloper/help/), locally on my computer?
    cheers
    Russel

    Hi Russel,
The jar files zip that you have downloaded is specifically for use with Oracle Help for Java (OHJ) - running in JDeveloper.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide the equivalent of the HTML on-line version available on OTN for your local machine.
You could try to use the zip file locally but it would not provide a table of contents and many of the links would not work.
Do you hava a specific requirement for a local HTML version of the help? I can pass this on to the Documentation team as an enhancement request.
In the meantime, your choices are to use OHJ within JDeveloper or to download the PDF version.
    Rgds

  • Can't open .help document with OS X Help Viewer

My Canon scanner's on-screen documentation is only available as a .help file. Howerver, by default this file is opened with "DVD Studio Pro" on my Mac. Very strange. No other app is available under the .help file's "Get Info". I cannot pick OS X's Help Viewer. Since it's no app any more, it can't be selected or even found for that matter.
*So how do I get Help Viewer to open up this .help document?* Control-clicking also doesn't give me that option.

Thanks. Now that I know where to find it, I could change it in "get info". Problem solved.

  • Need help with SQL Query with Inline View + Group by

    Hello Gurus,
I would really appreciate your time and effort regarding this query. I have the following data set.
    Reference_No---Check_Number---Check_Date--------Description-------------------------------Invoice_Number----------Invoice_Type---Paid_Amount-----Vendor_Number
    1234567----------11223-------------- 7/5/2008----------paid for cleaning----------------------44345563------------------I-----------------*20.00*-------------19
    1234567----------11223--------------7/5/2008-----------Adjustment for bad quality---------44345563------------------A-----------------10.00------------19
    7654321----------11223--------------7/5/2008-----------Adjustment from last billing cycle-----23543556-------------------A--------------------50.00--------------19
    4653456----------11223--------------7/5/2008-----------paid for cleaning------------------------35654765--------------------I---------------------30.00-------------19
Please Ignore '----', added it for clarity
I am trying to write a query to aggregate paid_amount based on Reference_No, Check_Number, Payment_Date, Invoice_Number, Invoice_Type, Vendor_Number and display description with Invoice_type 'I' when there are multiple records with the same Reference_No, Check_Number, Payment_Date, Invoice_Number, Invoice_Type, Vendor_Number. When there are no multiple records I want to display the respective Description.
The query should return the following data set
    Reference_No---Check_Number---Check_Date--------Description-------------------------------Invoice_Number----------Invoice_Type---Paid_Amount-----Vendor_Number
    1234567----------11223-------------- 7/5/2008----------paid for cleaning----------------------44345563------------------I-----------------*10.00*------------19
    7654321----------11223--------------7/5/2008-----------Adjustment from last billing cycle-----23543556-------------------A--------------------50.00--------------19
    4653456----------11223--------------7/5/2008-----------paid for cleaning------------------------35654765-------------------I---------------------30.00--------------19
The following is my query. I am kind of lost.
    select B.Description, A.sequence_id,A.check_date, A.check_number, A.invoice_number, A.amount, A.vendor_number
    from (
    select sequence_id,check_date, check_number, invoice_number, sum(paid_amount) amount, vendor_number
    from INVOICE
    group by sequence_id,check_date, check_number, invoice_number, vendor_number
    ) A, INVOICE B
    where A.sequence_id = B.sequence_id
    Thanks,

  • Creation of Query View

    Hi All,
Can someone pls explain me how to create a query view and what is its importance?
    Thanks in advance.
    Chaitra

    Hi Chaitra,
i dont know which BW version you use but let me explain that for BW 3.5:
1.) Local Views: If you navigate in your BEx workbook - for example you start a query and navigate in Excel - you can save the view state in the BEx workbook. Than this view is a local view stored in the BEx workbook. You can open this views by using the "jump" button in the BEx toolbar.
For example you filter your query by different sales organizations and there are 4 sales orgs available. You can than filter and create a local view for each sales organization.
Its a good way to switch fast between different views within a workbook without many navigation steps. Just a click or link is enough. End users like this.
The view is saved "in the workbook".
Hint: to save use the blue save button in BEx Analyzer.
    2. Global Views: You can navigate within your query in the BEx Analyzer and if you reached a good view state with the filters and the requested drill down you can save the whole view with any settings (query, characteristcs, key figures etc.) as a "global" view. In this case you must save the global view a description and a technical name. Now this view is saved "on the BW server" and any user can open this view by using the open function.
And you can use this global view in the Web Appication Designer as an initial view for tables and charts. There are many more things you can do with it. For example: if you filter for example a special sales org in a global view, than you can use a drop down box (mapped with sales org in web application designer) and the drop down box is pre filtered with this sales org. As you can see global views are important for wen reporting.
Hint: to save use the blue save button in BEx Analyzer.
Global views can be openend in the excel or web.
If you read the online help you will find more useful examples.
    Hope this helps.

    Adem

  • Diff Between Saved Query Views and Work Books

    Hi..
Can some one explain me the diff betwen Saved Query views and Workbooks interms of their use, and operation..
    thanks..
    kishore

    hi kishore,
We use workbooks for excel formating, like font changes, lay out changes etc...
Workbooks into which queries are inserted are no different in appearance than other Excel workbooks.
They can be saved as files, copied, sent and (using Excel functions) edited however you like and even supplemented with other data.
Views are primarily used for BW Web Reports, it is similar to the concept of workbooks is for BEx.A local view can be accessed only within a workbook in which it was saved, where as a global view can be accessed globally in the system, it is not attached to a workbook. Only Global view can be used in BW Web Templates.
u can seee the help doc for more details:

    Hi all,
I am trying to connect to a BI system from a Web Dynpro application. I have to execute a view/query and process the output in my application. Please guide me about how to establish the connection to the BI system from my web dynpro application and then execute the query/view.
I have tried executing/modelling the BI query/view using Visual Composer but I get an error saying 'QueryView Instantiation failed' when I try to drag the view/query on to the design board.
Please guide me and help me achieve this.

    Hi Kishan,
Define system for BI in portal and define JCo destination, then from WDJ application use can query BI.
Create the Technical System and connect with JCO Destinations

  • Global, Local, Harmonised attributes.

    Hi,
Could anybody explain me about the Global, Local, Harmonised attributes and how we should use them with Template project and Implementation project.
    Regards,
    Murali

You set these attributes against the nodes in your Template Project's Business Process Structure. The purpose of maintaining these attributes is to have control, or lend flexibility, to your rollout (implementation projects).
When you set an attribute of global it means that items cannot be changed and that they must be included as part  of the implementation project. For example, if you maintain your Procure to Pay scenario (and all processes, steps beneath it) as global, the implementation project cannot change the scope, documents, configuration entries, transactions, or whatever else you attach.
Localizing items in the BPS allows flexibility for the implementation projects to change everything assigned at a local level.
You can also provide different flavors of these attributes. For example, you might set all of your scenarios and processes to global however the process steps performed in organizations around the globe will obviously not match a global "headquarters". For that reason you could set the process steps to Local.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

  • SAP BW query view deletion in Web/ "Delete Query view" in web

    Dear All,
We are using the standard template: BW web analyzer (0ANALYZER). In this standard template, SAP provided two links "Save View" and "Open View" for creating new query views and opening existing query views respectively. However, no oppurtunity was provided to "delete query views".
We would like to have an oppurtunity to delete the query views as well from Web. (currently we are deleting the unwanted query views from Bex analyzer, as per the request from business users - who have access only to the web reports).
Would be great if you can suggest some solution to this problem.
By the way, We would not like to use the standard "Query view selection" web item. (as it creates user specic local views only).
