Help! - Document Recovery

Hello,
I need to recover a document on Buzzword. I used an important
document as the starting point, and auto save saved 'over' it, thus
deleting the original. Being new to Buzzword, I didn't know to be
careful of this feature. I didn't save the document as a new file
before auto save did this. I tried to undo - but it didn't go back
far enough. I need the original file back, as I have poured many
hours over several days into it.
PLEASE HELP!

earlier, but for some reason I did not see any prior versions
listed in history. Now I do see them, and my document is there!
Perhaps I was looking at the wrong document's history. Regardless -
you saved me hours of re-writing.

Indesign CS6 quits during document recovery, even after restart. How do I get out of this cycle?
I was saving a document when it originally quit. so "locked" file appeared in directory as well as reg file.
Upon restart of InDesign, recovery failed and software quit again.
Restarted computer, then indesign, file opens but as soon as I select "recover" it sends a message that indesign needs to close.
I cannot seem to get out of this cycle. Help.

Use your operating system’s Search utility to find a folder called (InDesign Recovery) and delete it.

Redirect Document Recovery using registry setting or Group Policy

Hi all, I am deploying In Design CS5.5 (version 7.5) on several Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Citrix servers. The users login to the server and use the server desktop to run applications. For many apps we have used redirection for cache folders etc to try and keep the user's windows profile as small as possible. When an application uses the registry to store its file paths then this can easily be done with group policy, I haven't been able to find any key for In Design that holds the Document Recovery path or any other cache type paths.
Does anyone know where this path is stored?
Any recommendations for methods on redirecting adobe paths out of the user's profile?

The path to the recovery folder is stored as part of the User's application preferences in InDesign Defaults, I believe. There is Browse button under FIle Hnadling that lets the user choose the location for the folder.
I don't know if it will help you, but I maintain a group of workstations for the student paper at the local community college, all of which have DeepFreeze installed making a local recovery folder useless, so I set the folder on one machine to a network drive, then cloned the prefs to the other workstations. Seems to work great.

Can not get Document recovery to stop trying to recovery a deliberately deleted file. Delet is grayed out.

A Word 2007 file was permenantly deleted and now Document Recovery tries to restore it. When I try to "save as" or "open" I get the message that the file can't be found. I have tried regedit to empty the Document Recovery. There is one file that remains
that I can't delete. I have turned off auto save under the Save tab and Allow background saves under the Advanced tab. There are 8 people that access the server. I've gone in and done the same thing for each of them. Shut down the server and brought it up.
Nothing has helped. The operating system is 2003 Server.

How to create and assign a help document to INFO button on ALV grid

Hi All,
Can somebody tell me how to create an 'END USER DOCUMENTATION' document and the 'FUNCTION MODULE' to call it and display in the form of F1 help screen.
OR
Is there any standard method to call & display a help document, when the user clicks the INFO(i) button on the ALV grid standard toolbar?

If you have defined a documentation for your ALV report which you want to display when the INFO button is pushed you can use the following coding:
CALL FUNCTION 'DSYS_SHOW_FOR_F1HELP'
    EXPORTING

         DOKNAME            = '<name of your ALV report>'
         SHORT_TEXT         = 'X'
    EXCEPTIONS

Can anybody confirm that this update works with the trial version as well?
I am using the CS3 trial right now, i was able to download and install the 8.02-patch but AE behaves exactly the same as before, p2-footage(mxf/xml-files) is not recognized as a valid format!
Can anybody help me on this?
Id really like to test this until my trial expires in 5 days...this workflow with native p2 and AAF import is really important to my workflow..whis will make my decission over upgrading to CS3 or not..so please help!

Can't open .help document with OS X Help Viewer

My Canon scanner's on-screen documentation is only available as a .help file. Howerver, by default this file is opened with "DVD Studio Pro" on my Mac. Very strange. No other app is available under the .help file's "Get Info". I cannot pick OS X's Help Viewer. Since it's no app any more, it can't be selected or even found for that matter.
*So how do I get Help Viewer to open up this .help document?* Control-clicking also doesn't give me that option.

Word 2007 Document Recovery Pane Corrupt

We are using Word 2007 on a Windows 2003 terminal server.
When each one of our users opens word, the document recovery task pane opens with the same five documents. If you try to use the documents or delete them, it gives an error
Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete file: Cannot read form the source file or disk.
How can I get these to not show up for everyone?

The first time that Word is started after a crash, the "Document Recovery" task pane will appear on the left side of the screen.
If you do not want these files shown in the document recovery task pane, click Start, in the Search box, type regedit and press Enter to open registry editor.
Locate the registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Install\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Resiliency
There will be a key called "document recovery". Delete everything in this key. Once everything in this key is deleted, the problem will go away.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The Safari, Email and Notes applications are native to the iOS and is unable to be deleted. Since this is the case, they are either in a folder on the iPhone, on another page or Restrictions are enabled. You can also search for these Apps on the iPhone by touching the screen and sliding your finger down. Here is some information regarding these features. The information about folders is located in the user guide below.

Steps to create help document

Hi All,
I have developed set of new pages in OAF. For my pages i need to give the help documentation. I have seen the seeded pages and developer guide also.
There i found that we have to set "Help Target" for our pages to set our help document. I have created one sample help file /oracle/apps/chainpro/webui/HelpIndex.html. But i am not able specify this path
with format "<appShortName>_<packageFunctionalComponent>_<pageName> " given in OAF Dev Guide.
Have I missed any missed steps....
Please help me in linking Help documents in OAF

     I have uploaded my help file by using FNDGFU. I used the command like
     FNDGFU apps/apps@vis 0 Y PROGRAM_NAME=FND_HELP PROGRAM_TAG=DEMO:100 CONTENT_TYPE=text/html LANGUAGE=US /oracle/D1/VI/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/demo/help.htm. .
Then i opened HelpBuilder from SystemAdministration responsiblity.
There I tried to add my help information,but I am not aware of some fileds in that form like data,
     node key and parent key. i couldn't find any tables where my help file is actually stored.      I have seen some seeded page help information like
     Data - @p_sup_factor
     Node Key - T366734_APUG_CONTENTS
     Parent Key - I_PX2DSUPPLIERS_APUG_CONTENTS
     where i can see this type of information for my uploaded help file?
     Please give me some suggestions...

LIon (OSX 10.7) embed an Autosave and a Versions feature at system level.
iWork components are using them.
The question and the given answer were dedicated to apps running under older systems.

French html help document generation.

After installing all the objects to create Headstart french help document, unable to generate the file from the Headstart Utilities. The following error is displayed:
"Server error occured. Contact your Utilities Administrator. Use err.sql (located in ...) to reproduce the error."

Creating a help document

I want to create a PDF document that is like a help document that you would open in Preview. What I have in mind is the Final Cut Pro user manual, which has the drawer on the right side with the huge entire outline that is collapsed and makes it really easy to navigate. Is there a way to create a document like that in Pages or some other program?

Pages doesn't seem to convert tables of contents to the indexes that you like when exporting to pdf's. If you do get info on the Final Cut Pro user manual it will probably tell you what program was used to create it which may be of help.

The Help that you get when you press 'F1' in B1 Screen is called "Microsoft Compiled HTML Help" (.chm) file.
You can also create one for your application.
Open google and search for, "How to create CHM File", you'll get lot of referneces which will help you to create your own CHM file.

I am trying to assign a help document to individual ESS Area, eg pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.ess.employee/com.sap.pct.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.ess.area_employee_search/com.sap.pct.ess.area_employee_search. The problem is I couldn't find property 'URL to Help Topic'. Yet, there is property 'Show 'Help' Option'. So, I proceed to assign 'URL to help topic' to iView directly, ie portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.ess.employee/com.sap.pct.ess.iviews/com.sap.pct.ess.area_employee_search. This, though, doesn't help. Anyone has any ideas ?
