I just downloaded CS6 and don't know how to start it... Please advise

After downloading it have you installed it ?
If you are on Windows run the .exe file to install it and if on a MAC run the .dmg file to install the program.
If you have already installed it, then on Windows click on 'Start' button > Go to 'All Programs' and select the application you want to launch from the CS6 Suite.
If on a MAC the program is listed under 'Applications'

  • Don't know how to start with SIP

am an undergraduate student studying network programming course, and we were asked to implement simple SIP based application using java and RTP sockets that at least can register and make a phone call, the problem is that i don't know how and where to start with this project ,so is there any ideas!!

To know more about SIP use the RFC. The RFC for SIP can be found in IETF organization homepage and the RFC number for SIP is 3261. Go through the RFC of SIP and write codes based on the reading.
I hope you wont have any problem with that.
do some research on SIP before you start.

  • Help - don't know how to change this...

Being a novice with my BB curve I keep playing with it to learn and this morning I went into contacts and had the option of "personal or business"; I clicked on personal and now can't get to my contacts because there is nothing listed uder "personal" and I don't know how to change it back plus I must have saved the numbers to the phone because it says my sim is empty and I didn't keep records of my numbers OMG HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Mate, just found this in another thread and it worked!!!!!
    See how you go!
    Hello,
I managed to fix it this way:
Settings > Mail, etc - remove your iCloud account
Settings > iCloud - check iCloud account is removed
Settings > iCloud - add your account using the e-mail address you want to use (I wanted @me but was getting the .mac error because I set up my account in 2007 with a @mac address, so I added with @me address)
    let it do its thing
Settings > iCloud > Account - my Apple ID shows as @mac but when I scroll down my 'Mail' shows as @me and I am able to send e-mails again!
I hope this helps you guys out. I think it would be great if Apple would allow people to merge their @me.com and @mac.com addresses into one of their choice to avoid confusion both for us and their servers! I also had iMessage trouble because of this.

  • Every time I open Firefox or a new Firefox window, my home page opens but so does a second tab showing the LinkedIn login page. Don't know how this started happening or how to stop it.

Figured it out. There was code in the Preferences/home page field telling it to open my home page and that page at the same time in two tabs. Don't know how it happened, but is fixed now.

Yeah, I don't know why I can't find my posted problem of November 18, but it was similar, and I also figured out how to fix it. IF when you open Firefox to your homepage and MORE opens than IS your homepage, then go to tools, options, and check your homepage info. You will find the URLs to your homepage plus whatever windows are opening that you do NOT want. Delete everything but the homepage and close. I had at least 10 windows opening from a browsing session over a week ago every time I opened Firefox... aggravating!

  • Don't know how to start instant messaging with camera

    Hello to the Mac Family,
Once again I am stuck while trying to help my son.
He is on Winter break,,His girlfriend is on the West Coast..He is
    on the East Coast.
So dad (me) went and bought him a web camera. I figured
they could chat as usaul using AOL instant messanger, but add video
to it. The Camera is a "rocketfish"notebook web cam about $50.00 US.
I tried to phone them and checked their web site. No answer on phone
    and web-site not very functional.
The camera came with a CD. In the CD is several apps for PC that look
like controllers for the camera..thing like zoom rotate etc.
The only thing on the CD is a driver for the camera that is for 10.2 or higher.
    His computer - G-4 I-Book runninng 10.4
Her computer - Some PC notebook about a year old (Not sure of OS.
Well now for the hard stuff....How do we start using the camera?
I sign on to IM using my slot load 350 running 10.2.
He connects to IM using the I-book. We do a direct connect and that is fine but
we don't know what else to do.
Not sure how to turn on the camera..it is usb powered.
We are stumped....Searching on th web has not helped me at all.
We are stuck.....Please help an old fool trying to keep
    romance growing..
    Happy New Year.....mGb.......Jim

    Hello Ralph,
I am back and still trying.
"In the meantime go to System Preferences > Accounts
GO to the Admin account (hopefully you) and check the Login items
Does this list the Camera Monitor or does the Desk Top item launch the app (Is it already launched in the background ?)"
I went to system prefs and the camera and/or monitor are not listed as Login items.
The camera monitor is an icon that is siiting on the desktop. After I plug in the camera, I double click
the monitor icon and it opens a window. When it works correct the window is about 3x3 inches.
It does have prefs to adjust video etc.
The problem is ..most of the time when I double click the moitor icon, the smaller box appears. It is
about 3" wide and 1/4" tall. It is like just a menu bar with no window showing the actual
picture. The way I get it to work is go to the system profiler and highlight the camera. Then with this highlighted I open the monitor and see the camera video. My son seems to remember reading
that when the camera is plugged in..the monitor window should open automatically. This never
has happened. The only way I get the monitor to show is to double click it' s icon and open the app.
When the camera is showing a picture in the monitor, we open I-Movie to see if it will see the camera.
We make sure we hit the switch you highlited.. It says no camera installed. The only positive is that
it always shows in the system profiler.
If this was on a mac using 9.2 I would say it was an extension conflict and I would create a set of
extensions using the extension manager and try to solve the problem. But this is X and I am pretty
    dumb about it.
I just don't know if I should return the camera and try a different brand or what.
I don't give up easy but this is hard....Thanks for you kind efforts.....Jim

  • Got a (great) idea in mind, don't know how to start

I've got a collection of files I'm backing up to DVD because a hard disk crash is never far away. I'd like to keep track of the files I'm burning though. So I've been looking for a tool that does that. There are plenty around, but I haven't come across one that does exactly what I want:
    - maintain a list of my files
    - keep track of the metadata of interesting files (.mp3, .avi, .jpg, ...)
    - store the information in an "accessible format": clear text, database, XML, ... Something other tools can also work with
    - freeware
    - portable
I've been looking for a while and the need for such a program has only been growing. Now I'm thinking of writing my own, the only problem is I only really know Java and I don't feel like learning a different language because that will only make me abandon the project prematurely.
My question now is if there's someone around who feels like helping me a bit in the right direction by giving tips or showing possible (general) pitfalls. I'd even appreciate some actual coding help too!

Sounds like a good idea. I'd much have a database storing the names of the movies/music/books I've burnt to DVD rather than just labelling the DVD because finding a movie from the collection of DVDs I've got is tedious.
From a quick Google search there seems to exist support for using XML/MySQL with Java:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/ … ector.html
    http://java.sun.com/xml/tutorial_intro.html
I would have thought XML was more portable than MySQL but both are still portable.

Yes, Prime 95 is a system stress testing utility. Here is the link to a bunch of useful utilities. You will need to screen them for the ones that only apply to your needs & system. Forum 'Sticky' OCUBA - OC Utilities & Benchmarking Apps. https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=107133.0
thanks bro.. :biggthumbsup:omg..after i applied it..my temp becomes 41 on idle..before this, it is 38-39...i've ran the intel burn test and it tells me that my system is running stable on 3.33GHz...  ..
by the way, when i let it on stock (3.0GHz), my cpu-z shows my core speed 2400 GHz and only 6.0 for my multiplier, wherelse in the bios stated my core speed is 3.0ghz and multilplier is 9.0..this is acutually the stock one...why is that in the cpu-z is different from the actual...

  • My MacBook Pro won't go beyond a white screen, after I pushed the restart button. How can I get it to a login? I have routinely backed it up, but don't know how to bring that up, nor if I have a boot file on that external disk. Help!

My MacBook Pro won't go beyond a white screen, after I pushed the restart button. How can I get it to a login? I have routinely backed it up, but don't know how to bring that up, nor if I have a boot file on that external disk. Help!

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
To restart an unresponsive computer, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
    b. If Step 1a fails because of disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
    c. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use the technique in Step 1b, 1c, or 1d to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If a desktop Mac hangs at a plain gray screen with a movable cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Press and hold the button on the side of an Apple wireless keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you're using a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 11. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
    Step 9
If the startup device is an aftermarket SSD, it may need a firmware update and/or a forced "garbage collection." Instructions for doing this with a Crucial-branded SSD were posted here. Some of those instructions may apply to other brands of SSD, but you should check with the vendor's tech support.
    Step 10
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 11
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 12
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 13
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

Hi vickkjayy11 and welcome to Apple Support Communities,
Just to be clear, we are a peer to peer support community and have nothing official to do with Apple.
So to your problem, when you say:
"I reset my macbook pro a few days ago"
What exactly happened? Did you have a Time Machine backup?
    Read this:
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
It would help to know the exact model (size and year) and which OS you're using.
