I wanted to downgrade from 10.9.2 to 10.6.8 But this is the message I get:

-apps shut down on me while i use them
-battery life (apple says) lasts for 48 hours. for me it lasts 2 hours
-no way to downgrade
-terrible background choices (kinda lame, but still)
-apps are neon (ick)
-terrible design layouts
-safari ***** (as usual) with its search bar functioning as web address search as well
-mail badge says i hate not read mail when i have
-passcode can be surpassed
-game center push notifications will not go away
-will not sync with my mac
APPLE PLEASE LET US DOWNGRADE

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

Need help downgrading

I need some help downgrading my BB Curve 8530 to the last version that had keyboard lock. I've tried following JSanders' instructions that he posted in the keyboard lock thread but it isn't working.

I just have some questions on the instructions. This is how I understand it:
1. I should uninstall BB desktop manager 5.01
2. Download 5.0.0.459
3. Do I completely install the old BB desktop manager, or just let it extract?
4. Done that
5. Loader.exe doesn't do anything. It just says "No Actions are required" and "Your device's software has been updated successfully"
But it still has the same version installed on the BB. What do I do?

No. You can leave DTM in place.

Since you won't have uninstalled it, this step is moot.

Since you never installed the device OS package (you only said that you downloaded it), you are likely still getting the prior installed OS package. Install the new (old, actually) OS package and then do these.

You ca create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. I made the mistake of upgrading the iOS on my mom's iPad2. Now hardly any of her apps work!! I should have read about this before but alas it is too late now. I found some links about downgrading but there isn't anything specific about using a PC and an iPad, all is about Macs and iPads. Anyway, I also found an ipsw file but I don't know where to copy it on a PC. Whenever I follow to steps for a restore I only have the option of iOS8. This is way beyond frustrating.

Help Downgrade to Snow Leopard due to Constant Freezing from YouTube and Update Failures?

I love the new OSX Lion, however due to youtube being my most visited site, the widespread issue between new iMacs with Lion and Flash Player is bad enough that I would like to return to Snow Leopard. My computer has already frozen and needed to be restarted upwards of 15 times. If I no longer posses the Snow Leopard install disc (never thought I'd need it since I upgraded), is there any way for me to revert to Snow Leopard? I just can't stand the freezing, as well as how long it takes to restart following said crashes, it has rendered my mac nearly unusable. Also, when I run the Software update application, updates keep finishing downloading and then telling me that the download "Can not be saved" which forced me to move my music library to Spotify. Although after 3 days the iTunes update did finish however i did not want to go back to iTunes for fear of future problems. Help?

I've already tried all of those methods using the 10.6.3 disks I bought, they simply don't work as I posted earlier.
All that happens is the machine constantly bleeps 3 times in a row and the DVD drive stops spinning. I know booting from a DVD install disk is a slow process but no matter how long I leave it nothing happens except for the 3 bleeping sounds.
Having scoured the net and spoken to Apple themselves all information tells me these 10.6.3 disks are actually for someone upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard.
I have no idea why Apple sold me this version as before I ordered it I explained fully to the sales person what I was wanting to do and they had all the details of this mid 2011 iMac I have bought. So unless the sales person didn't have a clue what they were talking about then I should be able to "downgrade" to Snow Leopard on this iMac as even the specs for this model clearly state on everymac.com that it originaly shipped with OS 10.6.6 (Snow Leapard)

So there must be somewhere I can purchase these 10.6.6 install disks to "downgrade". Trouble is on Ebay or Amazon where you can buy Snow Leopard most of them are 10.6.3 or "retail" versions with no actual version numbers to let me know I'm buying the correct disk.
Who would have thought setting up your computer could be a mission impossible task and why Apple don't help is simply a disgrace to be honest.

I have an old iphone4 from Japan, that I surrendered sim card to SoftBank Phone company... that now I have been using strictly as a wifi phone, camera, mp3 player, etc.. I recently upgraded the os to os6, not sure why, but now because I dont' have a sim card for it, I can't complete the upgrade.. what can I do?

As I mentioned in my original post, my service provider in Japan, SoftBank, took the original sim card when I cancelled my contract with them. I could try asking them to give me a new one, but really have doubts about it. I also tried to finish the upgrade with my sister's sim card from her active iphone, but that didn't work . I have no idea where to look for an unactivated Iphone4 sim card, but that seems like what I have to have in order to finish the upgrade.. another option/message I recieved during the upgrade was to have the phone unlocked in order to proceed.. is that even possible in it's current state? i am a Flex developer who has written server side stuff with php scripts that were auto-generated by Flash Builder. These scripts use the Mysqli extention, which is not avilable on my shared hosting server. These scripts implement simple CRUD functions to a MySql database. Anyone who has used the data wizard will recognize these scripts.
Just before i pay more bucks and move to a VPS server in order to enable Mysqli, is there anyone out there who can help me translate this script BACK to the old mysql way?

Help Downgrading X121e Bios

Hi,
I just updated my Thinkpad X121e to the latest bios version (1.19/1.17 it was on 1.14). Unfortunately i was not aware it would cause Windows Bitlocker to lock the computer due to hardware changes. Windows is now asking for a key to unlock my hard drive, unfortunately i do not have this key (nor is there any chance of finding it). Ive seen in the release notes that you cannot downgrade from 1.19 once upgraded.
I see that the bios flashing program extracts temporary files to C:\DRIVERS\FLASH directory. WINUPTP.exe seems to be the Lenovo flashing utility but i presume it internally runs winflash.... Is there no way i can run winflash manually and force it to flash an older bios on my x121e in the chance it might allow me to login into Windows, disable Bitlocker then reflash?

Help Downgrading itunes 10.5

Hello. I installed itunes 10.5 today and shortly thereafter I plugged in my 160 GB classic ipod. itunes froze every single time on "step 2: determining tracks to sync" and i had to force quit to get out of itunes. Not only that, I kept getting an error message that said my ipod was hooked up to a slow 1.1 USB port. I had it plugged into my MacBook Pro and I'd never seen that message before. I also got an error message saying that the device wasn't properly removed and now my ipod is empty! All I want to do is simply to downgrade back to my old version of itunes (since updating my library went from 10,000+ tracks to 54). I can still see all the music files and TV shows, etc there were in my library before when I use finder so I know they are not gone. Also, does anyone have any idea about the error messages as far as my ipod goes and the usb? thank you.

You can and should post in the iTunes forums. Make more sense.

the simplest instructions are:
- Obtain the firmware you want
The Roll Back Process:
(1) Locate the Home and Power buttons on your iDevice. The Home button is the round button below the screen; the Power button is the rectangular button located on top of your iDevice.
(2) Plug your iDevice into your computer.
(3) If you can’t count well in you head, look at a clock that displays the seconds because the timing of these steps is very important.
(4) Press and hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds. The screen should cut off at around 8 seconds
(5) While still holding the Home button, release the Power button. Continue holding the home button for about 15 seconds. The screen will remain off and the iDevice will look unchanged, but, if you’re on Windows, you will hear the connected hardware sound; if you're on a Mac, iTunes will open and tell you that your iDevice is connected in “Recovery” mode.
(6) Use the alt/option key PLUS clicking on restore to select the firmware you wish to roll back to. Personally, I suggest 2.2.1 as that appears to be the most reliable.

Need help downgrading bios on MSI 7025 Neo2 Plat.

I have recently upgraded my bios from 1.5 to to the latest 1B version. While there are no problems in particular, it seems to have slowed down my computer in a few programs.
I have tried flashing the bios back 1.5 (and 1.8) but Windows XP now refuses to load on either versions, giving a variety of errors from corrupt system drivers to a bad BIOS... Strangely, all is fine when I upgraded back to the 1B version - does this mean I will have to reinstall Windows from scratch to use an older bios again, or is there another way around it?

Need help in the process of trying to downgrade back to iPhoto '09...

I want to see all the exif info for my photos as I am getting into DSLR photography. This is one of the reasons I am trying to downgrade back to iPhoto '09 from '11 amongst other reasons; one being I just preferred it (and I have been using '11 since January and still want to downgrade). Anyway, this is what I have done so far:
Reinstalled iPhoto '09 from an old time machine backup in December '13 from before I upgraded late December. Then with the help of a youtube video I found I created a new iPhoto Library for '09 and was in the process of importing all my pics when 3/4 of the way through, my hard drive reached capacity and the importing quit. When I go into iPhoto '09 now, there are no pics. So I spent yesterday buying a large external hard drive and the past 18 or so hours formatting it for mac and moving files so now I have a bit more room on my internal 1tb hard drive.
So I am guessing I should next go to the newly created iPhoto library on my internal hard drive and delete all (not to mention this will free up more room on it). Then what I want to do is create a new library for iPhoto '09 on my new 3TB external hard drive and then import all the pics there. Can I create the iPhoto Library on an external drive?
If I am able to do the above and import all my pics and iPhoto '09 seems to be working properly, can I then go in and delete the iPhoto '11 app without causing problems? Am I right to believe that all my pictures, even the ones I imported to iPhoto '11 directly from a mail attachment, will not be deleted if I delete the iPhoto '11 app?
I don't want to find myself with 2 iPhoto programs, neither of which function. Thanks in advance!

You need the version of iPhoto that you wan tot use installed and then follow the IPLM directions

Downgrading a library to an earlier version of iPhoto
If you have a library from a newer version of iPhoto that you simply want "downgrade" to an older version of iPhoto, the easiest way to do that is with the "Rebuild Library" command. You will want to be running iPhoto Library Manager on the machine that has the older version of iPhoto you want to convert the library to. This will create a new library and import the entire contents of the original library into the new one using the older version of iPhoto. As with any rebuild, there are some items that will not be included (most notably, hidden photos, books, calendars, and slideshows), but if you have none of these items or don't mind losing them in the downgrading process, then this is a decent option for converting a library to an older version.

Need help with Mountain Lion downgrade to Snow Leopard

Recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, my daily applications do not work and i am losing patience, I need help downgrading to snow leopard, i have the snow leopard CDS that came with my mac

i have a backup with mountain lion, and i also have a backup from snow leopard,(my goal is to restore my latest backup from mountain lion to snow leopard)
i have backed up my files using time machine AND justcloud
My question is how, i do not want to lose any data, also is there any thing i need to be aware during this process

Downgrade Lion/Mountain Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.
