Help!  Download shuts down

When I initiate updating of my older version 6.0.4.2 the download lasts less than a minute and then shuts down while the ITunes download site opens to the page that states: "Thank you for downloading Itunes".
I have repeatedly tried to download and even got up now in the middle of the night thinking that it was a problem with my DSL provider, but no.
Could it be that I have just moved to Belize and am here trying to download? I saw that Belize is not authorized for downloads from ITunes. Is that true even though my registered credit card is US?

can someone please help

  • HELP - iPhone shutting down repeatedly

Recently my phone began turning off, turning on, turning off...you get the picture. I reset it (home and lock button) several times, and have also restored it using iTunes a few times as well. At first (after being restored once), it would perform all functions but shut down when I tried to make a phone call. Now (after a few more restorations and a day of rest), I can make phone calls, but it will still shut off without any provocation. If you have any advice, it would be very appreciated. Thank you.
    Jay

I'm having similar problems - phone is turning off completely when I put it to sleep. It doesn't happen immediately, but after letting it sleep for a while (not sure how long yet). The only way I can get it to wake up again is with a reboot.
This really REALLY ***** because I cannot get calls when it is completely off! I need an operational phone for my work!
I bought the phone on Dec. 8, 2008. Started having the problem. I returned the phone and got a replacement on Dec. 11, 2008, and had the same problem. Therefore, I'm assuming that this is software related. I've downloaded a handful of third party apps from the App Store. I have Vista... any help?????

  • Why does all the apps - default and the ones I downloaded - shut down by themselves repeatedly?

For the past few days, every single one of my apps seems to shut down by themselves, as soon as I try to open them. I can try to open them several times in a go but still the same thing. Even restarted my phone a few times and deleted the background app, which usually works...
Also it doesn't save any of my photos or theres a plain grey 'picture' with 'JPEG' on it. Moreover, on my camera roll, when I tap a photo to enlarge it, none of them focuses, so all them are blurry. I can't seem to send messages either: that said I usually get all my notifications shown on my lock screen, but lately it doesn't show at all.
Another thing, my phone keeps repeatedly buzzing when there is no notification - or email - shown either on the lock screen and/or home screen.
Please help! I'm running out of options what to do!

Your best bet is to back up your device to iCloud or iTunes, then reset your device to Factory Settings (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Content & Settings, but do not restore it from the backup. Add your apps back onto your phone one at a time (download them from iTunes in the Cloud by tapping on the App Store icon, then on Updates>Purchased>All, then click on one or two apps and download them and see if the problem persists.
Continue to download apps to see if you start running into the issue again at any point. If you are able to get all the apps downloaded and functioning without any issues, then reset the device back to factory settings, and then restore it from your backup, and see if the issues starts up again.
If it does start up again, then there is something in your backup that is corrupted, and your best bet at that point is to "rebuild" your device from Factory Settings rather than to keep the backup on your device.

  • Please help: programs shut down after 60 sec's

*Please help me:* Since two weeks or so (may be, after I updated my QuickTime), every program I opened *shuts down after roughly 60 seconds*. It is not closed but it gets out of the writing mode so that I need to click on the page first before being able to continue writing again (Word, email, also this thread). If I do not always look at my page I loose words and have to retype them again. Also, with backspacing it occurs: it gets out of the enter mode. I am not aware I changed anything in the user mode of my dear power book.
    Thank you for helping! rororoger

    rororoger:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try starting up in Safe Mode. If can do so successfully, log in, Empty Trash, Restart normally and log in.
    If issue persists Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior

  • [HELP] iMac shuts down randomly

I bought my 20-inch iMac back in September, and recently my iMac has been acting strangely.
It will shut down itself randomly, and it's hard to predict when it will shut down.
It shut down yesterday after I got out of shower, and it shut down today after finishing my dinner. I've been trying to use process of elimination to figure what's the root of problem, but it is not as easy as it seems.
What I have known so far is that, the iMac never shuts down when I'm using it, it always happens when I am not around, and there is no one present while I was away so it has to be shutting down by itself. My iMac wasn't overheating either since it's idling while I was away.
Although the iMac did shut down while I was using Boot Camp before. However, after I upgraded to Leopard, my iMac, so far, has not shut down itself randomly while using Boot Camp.
P.S. I leave my iMac on all the time, and I was gone for Thanksgiving for 4 days. Surprisingly, the iMac was still on when I got back from the Thanksgiving break.
After doing some research, I come out of 2 possibilities that cause this problem.
    1st. It's a faulty iMac that I bought.
2nd. The way I have the iMac's power cord connects to the outlet using a 5-Outlet powerstrip, which does not produce enough voltage for iMac.
There are probably more than just these 2 possibilities, I have not yet tried connecting the power cord directly to the outlet since the power cord is not long enough to reach the outlet. I don't think it's a faulty iMac either because the possibility of getting a faulty iMac is pretty low.
This problem is starting getting on my nerve, and I am not sure if I am the only one out there experiencing this sort of problem.
I am sure there are experts out there have solution for this particular problem.

I have had this issue happen twice that I know of in the last month or so.
It has happened each time while burning a DVD in the iMacs internal DVD drive. I think from memory they were both DVD-ROM-UDF discs and both stopped in the middle of the burn.
I can't remember how long the computer was on the first time it happened but this time it was only on for a few minutes.
The only thing I could think it might have to do with is either the USB hub that I'm using or one of the external drives that were attached at the time.
They were being accessed at the time it shutdown so maybe there was a power management issue with dealing with the peripheral devices.
I have experienced inconsistent performance with peripheral ports in Apple products for at least the last 5 years. I have encountered problems with only one firewire port functioning properly on many different machines - i.e there are two ports both work individually, try getting them to work together and one device disappears.
Inconsistent speeds with USB ports acting something like a USB-1 speed or even slower, and non-powered (or... not powered enough) USB ports on the higher end laptops - i.e; PowerBook G4 15inch could not mount an external USB hardrive on any port (without the powerlead) while the lesser iBook 14inch could on either USB port.
I don't know if these issues were specifically designed to be there (I couldn't imagine why) but they do exist and frustrate me daily.
I'd try disconnecting everything including your keyboard and mouse, if you have a spare try those and see what happens.
Once your machine is up and running (if you get that far) try plugging one peripheral in at a time and leave it like that for an hour - see what happens.
If that doesn't work start unplugging your household devices that you seem to have many of. See if this helps - i think it would be better to replace a $60 phone then a $2,000 computer or an old microwave for a newer safer one.
It might be worth going over to you neighbours house to see if the problem persists there, you might have some kind of problem on your electricity connection.
Anyway good luck, let me know how you go.

  • Help - Itunes Shuts Down

    Help!!!
Every Time I open Itunes it runs great for about 30 seconds to a minute then out of no where shuts down. There is no error message no "itunes has encountered a problem" not even a "send an error report" message. I have unintalled itunes and quicktime like 10 times already putting in program files then in my documents trying to troubleshoot it. I need help!
    Cybershock

From the sound of your description, i dont think it is a problem with iTunes. You may need to do some self maintanace on your PC and also make sure you dont have any viruses or spyware. This could be causing your problem.

  • HELP Program shuts down when try to capture video

Every time I click on capture the program shuts down. I've used this program many times with no problem but now it won't even reconize my camera. And when I try to capture it shuts down completely. Anyone know what to do?

There is nothing wrong with FCE 2 as a program - it should not be necessary to upgrade it.
Have you tried plugging and unplugging the FireWire cable from both the computer and the camera.
Also see if iMovie will recognise the camera. if it won't you will know the problem is probably not the fault of FCE.
It is also possible that FCE may be corrupted in which case you should re-install it after having first uninstalled it by deleting ALL the files listed in this article:-

  • Need help - FCE shutting down automatically

I use Final Cut express on my mac mini and I am trying to capture HD footage. For whatever reason, the second it begins to capture, the program automatically shuts down without an error message or anything to explain why. Would someone please explain this to me? I am trying to edit an important movie and am going crazy with this. Also, I'm not real understanding of computer terminology, so if you could explain this in terms I could understand, I'd much appreciate it. Thanks!

    Welcome to the discussions!
What version of FCX are you using? 3.5?
    Check this out:
    System Requirements
Macintosh computer with 500MHz or faster PowerPC G4 or G5 (550MHz for PowerBook G4) or Intel Core Duo
    512MB RAM
Display with 1024-by-768 (or higher) resolution
An AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme or an Intel GMA integrated graphics processor in MacBook or Mac mini
Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later
    QuickTime 7.0.4 or later
HDV features require 1GHz or faster processor and 1GB of RAM (2GB recommended)
500MB disk space required for applications; additional 16GB of additional storage space for Soundtrack and LiveType content (can be installed on separate disks)
    DVD drive for software installation
My guess is the OS second the RAM and my final answer would be QT, Regis.
Also, just so you know, if you're trying to capture onto your system HD you're in for a lot of trouble regardless of the format and/or computer used.

  • Need EMERGENCY help with shutting down my MacBook pro

So it's like this,I wanted to update the frameware, and now it's been around 3 hours that the macbook's monitor gone white and not operating with any keys of keyboard! How should I turned off or make it work?

To force turn the system off hold down the power button until it shuts down, everything turns off.
But that doesn't mean it will start back up. With any Firmware update there is a chance of turning the system into a brick. If it doesn't turn back on then your only option is to take it into an Apple store to be fixed.
