HELP. Downloading activesync (and other utilities) to a new PC

I own a Treo 750 and have just bought a new computer. I am trying to load my Treos software onto the PC.
My "getting started" CD will not load onto it. I am getting a setup.exe error -"we have experienced an error and have to close....send error report yes or no etc etc". My computer guy tried many times and advised me to get the software direct from the Palm site. This seemed reasonable to me at the time.
The Palm website does not have the software that I can download despite having links to it. I cannot get customer support in any form so presume that we are expected to help each other. Can anyone suggest how I might load activesync and the other palm software onto my computer without a functioning CD or apparent downloads available on the Palm website?
Can anyone from Palm help me?

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums. If you have a new computer I assume it has Vista on it. If that is the case you will not be able to install activesync and will need windows mobile device center. Both products are available at

I have checked that link which for both (async and wmdc) takes me to a MicroSoft link and downloads succesfully. You can bypass Palm.com and go directly to MicroSoft and search for WMDC or ActiveSync 4.5 and do the download from there. Now for any of the other software on the above link if you go to downloads & updates it gives you links for all the other software and I also tested each and they did download succesfully. If you are still unable to download from Palm or directly from MicroSoft check your security as something on your computer is blocking you from the downloads.

The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1; you may be able to get compatible application versions by downloading them to a computer and then going to the Purchased screen on the device.

I hope you are not trying to open them in iTunes on the PC - are you? That is the way that your statement comes across to me. You can only use the apps on the iPad.

Please quit creative cloud app. Then perform below given steps:
Remove the delete OOBE file and re-login into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
Mac OS: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
Windows: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder. To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.

I've reinstalled lion os 10.7.5 and got the app store app back.
Even though iPhoto etc are purchased by me in app store, theres no way they'll download.

1 - the restore disks that came with the computer - if it came with CDs and you do not know where they are then contact Apple to see if they can be replaced
or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

I just downloaded ios7 and it has ruined my new ipad.

1.spotlight search isn't doing anything. Literally not searching anything. Just a plain search bar
2. my music won't play. - just silence
3. iTunes just crashes when I go on it so I can't download any of my music.
I've tried resetting, rebooting etc.
Kinda wish I hadn't upgraded to this software as I need my pad working for uni.
Any way to fix these things or back to the shop it goes. I'd rather have my money back than keep something that isn't doing what it's supposed to do.

HELP! Finder and other applications keep crashing after application install

Okay, this was probably not a good idea considering I did not read that it was only for snow leopard... but I downloaded the Metalik theme from Julien Sagot's webpage (http://juliensagot.com/). Now, when I logged out and logged back into my account, I see that Finder keeps quitting and relaunching itself. Safari and other applications do the same thing. I cannot open any files or webpages!! (I am writing this on my other computer, haha)
What is happening!? How can I fix this and return my computer to normal?

Boot the machine into safe mode, holding down the Shift key. If that's successful, delete the nonsensical stuff you installed and try a normal boot.

Location of downloaded templates and other files

As there is almost 4GBs of templates and related files that are downloaded for Premiere Elements 12, I would like to ensure these files are backed up. Therefore can someone please tell me where these files are stored, i.e., the fullpath name? Thanks.

Disk Utility and other Utilities GONE from Utilitis Folder

On my PowerBook G4 I noticed that some icons don't look right and an installer disk (for iLife 06) won't run....So I remember it's been a long time since I've run permimssions repair. I go the DiskUtility Folder and almost everything is gone The only thing in there is Bluetooth File Exchange and one or two other items. There should be about 30 apps in there...! What happened? How can I get Disk Utility back ? Is it possible all these files are actually there but the Mac's directly has just lost them? Perhaps running permissions repair would fix it -- but I can't find it!

Have you tried booting while holding down the shift key? This will force it to boot in to Safe Mode which will force the system to check the disk and to check the fonts. If you can boot this way it may give you some clues as to what is happening. My guess is since you did an archive and install which keeps all of your networks settings, preferences, and cache files intact that the issue is really with one or more of them.
As the problem seems to be caused by Safari and/or AOL I would start by trashing all t he preference files for both applications. In fact it may be a good idea to completely reset Safari which you do by going to the Safari menu and selecting "reset Safari" When you do this it will wipe out all the cache files and other files and give you a kind of new Safari.
These solutions I am proposing a fairly radical. You may lose all your bookmarks, and all or the preferences you had originally set but it may solve the issue.
Another thing you could try is to get a program like Tiger Cache Cleaner or Cocktail or YASU and use it to clean all your cache files.
If doing things like this still don't stop Safari and AOL from causing problems then I think you may have to reformat your drive and reinstall everything from scratch. Make sure you have backups of your personal files.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Your old MacBook series, built between 2006 and 2010, had several
different verions within those years and they do not all accept a later
upgrade to the most newest OS X versions...
These shipped with (early) intel-version Tiger OS X 10.4.x through
Leopard 10.5.x, and early models can use Snow Leopard 10.6.8,
& some can run as late as Lion 10.7.5; or maybe Mavericks 10.9.2.
Hardware limits and system configuration specs determine this.
A supported computer may also need hardware upgrade (RAM)
to run a later OS X system version along with newer software.

The base system upgrade for earliest MacBook 1.1 & MB2.1 past
the original as-shipped Leopard 10.5.x, would be Snow Leopard
10.6 (w/ Combo update to 10.6.8 v.1.1) for Snow Leopard download.
So your MacBook likely has either Leopard or Snow Leopard. If it has
Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed/updated to last step, then it may be
able to go to the online Mac App Store, App Store, iTunes Store, etc.
You can see if an applicable upgrade past the current OS X system
is available from the Mac App Store. If yours is MacBook1.1 (early)
then highest it may go is Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The later MB2.1
has limited upgrade, and could use Lion OS X 10.7.5 at most.
More recent builds of MacBook, toward the last model year 2010,
can take as new an upgrade as Mavericks OS X 10.9.2. This is
based on build version specs, hardware limitation, and so on.

In order to know more about the possibilities, you'd have to supply
more information on your exact MacBook model build year etc.
The "About this Mac" as found under the Apple menu icon  is of
some help. Additional info from "More Info" in the next window can
help when System Profiler appears. The hardware specs are there.
