Help....duplications of ical events on iPhone and only syncing from mac to iPhone?

Hi,
Has anyone got any suggestions for fixing this problem.....
My iPhone syncs with my Mac perfectly via iTunes apart from iCal, which is giving me real grief! iCal on my mac is in perfect order and syncs events to my phone but my phone has duplicate and triplicate events and even events in different states of being edited. The iphone doesnt sync events made in it back to the mac either.
It syncs contacts etc. fine, just not iCal events.
Is there an easy way of fixing this or even totally reseting iCal on the Mac and iPhone so it clears this up? (obviously, I need to keep my calendar events though)
I've tried replacing the info on the phone, reseting the phone, changing to iCloud syncing and back again and I even upgraded to the iPhone 5 (which I was going to do anyway )
I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.8, iCal 4.0.4, iTunes 11.0.2 and I was on an iPhone 4 and now iPhone 5. It's been happening for two months now and it's getting really frustrating!

okay.. when you connected your iphone to your mac and click an on device summary. then scrolled down the. there should a line that says Manually manage music and videos. if is not have a check on the box click, then click on it after that click on that says apply and then you should be done

Transfer only contacts from mac to iPhone 4s

i want to transfer only contacts from mac to iPhone 4s and nothing else but when i try to restore the iPhone from the backup,all the apps also start syncing.
I just want to transfer the contacts stored in the backup to the iPhone 4s.

Address book and calendar sync from Mac to Google

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire phone and wish to sync my Contacts and Calendar items to it via Google.
I have pulled my Address Book and Calendar from my old p1i phone on to my old Power Book and exported these. I have then imported these onto my Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard.
I now want to sync these up to a Google account.
In my address I have ny contacts and also my girlfriend's. I wish to sync only my Contacts up to Google. Is this possible?
I have tried configuring iCal to sync with Google via calDAV but I am not seeing my Calendar entries in Google (or a way of doing a manual sync from Mac -> Google)
Apologies if these questions have been asked and answered previuosly.

Sinc only works from mac to iphone

When I connect Iphone using Itunes, calendar only updates new entries from mac to iphone, not from iphone to mac. How can I fix it?

ICal events changing duration and start time after .Mac sync

I sync two OS X Tiger computers (10.4.2) using .Mac to keep my iCal calendars in order. Certain events following a certain date are mutating with longer durations and different start times after syncing between the two computers.
Anyone experiencing the same problem?
Any ideas?

Two different problems here:
Try one at a time:
Quit iCal. Delete iCal preferences in your User Library: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist ( you'll have to reset iCal prefs after)
For those having problems with .Mac sync, reset the sync System Preferences/ .Mac/ Advanced tab.
Come back with results

ICal appts syncing from Mac to iPhone, but not from Mac to iPad.

Events ARE syncing from iPad to Mac, iPad to iPhone and iPhone to iPad.
All devices are on most updated OS and are syncing through iCloud.

only problem is there is now duplication of all events being synced from my mac.

I have found that my iPhone calendar is not being updated when I sync with the iMac - and it doesn't appear to work the other way either.
It used to work perfectly and I haven't changed anything.
I have made sure all the boxes for syncing calendars are checked but that has made no difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unless as part of a backup, or stored somewhere else, they are gone.
Your son needs his own Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage. He can continue to use yours for iTunes content, but for everything else, he needs his own.
When you did what you did, as far as iCloud knows, this is the same person with multiple devices, and that's they way things are supposed to work: keep everything in sync.

Where, exactly, did you read anything from Apple that suggested that iCloud Photostream was permanent storage?

IPhone 4 - switching sync from Mac to PC

Ugh, I can't believe I'm actually writing this...
I just got a new iPhone 4 and am devastated to discover that I can't use my Mac to set it up or sync as it's running 10.4.11 - yeah I know, I didn't realise, only myself to blame etc etc.
Anyway, I'm forced to look at the only alternative currently open to me - using my much loathed PC running XP to set up my new phone. I've downloaded and installed iTunes, my question is how do I backup my iPhone 3G, all its apps, music and info to the PC version of iTunes and then transfer it to the iPhone 4? When I try to sync the apps it just says the contents of the iPhone will be deleted etc.
This is a temporary scenario until I can upgrade my Mac to 10.5, at the moment there's not enough space to install it and as I'm at a critical stage in an important work contract I don't want to risk messing up my Mac by trying anything clever/stupid.

First, on your XP machine, turn off iTunes autosync by going to Edit, Preferences, Devices, "Prevent iDevices from syncing automatically".
On my XP laptop, itunes has a folder in the Music folder for the user (me). It shows up as "My Music". If you put all the itunes data from your mac into that folder, then select in itunes "Add folder to library" on the itunes File menu for the user/music, itunes will bring it in.
Make a list of all your apps, to ensure they are all brought in. If some are missing, you can redownload them.
I am not sure if itunes puts all music/data in the itunes folder, but you probably know more about the mac side than me.
One thing to keep in mind, you may already have music in that folder or the my music folder so you need to merge the files, not totally replace them.
After the import, sort your music and check for duplicates.
As always perform a full backup of all data before trying anything like this.

Someone else can probably answer the family sharing question better than I can, but I wanted to respond with an alternate suggestion. I didn't find the features I wanted in family sharing, so I didn't give it much of a chance. It did seem like you'd have a separate album for each family member.
I just recently started using Flickr and it's great. I looked into it a few years ago and there were limitations on how many MB's you could upload per day and I don't remember being impressed by the amount of free storage. Now Flickr gives you 1000 GB for free and stores the image in the original quality and size. If you download the Flickr app on your phone, you can set it to automatically upload all of the new pictures on your iphone, ipad, etc. If you and a family member share a Flickr account, you can both auto sync your camera rolls into the same Flickr account.
Personally, I'm using Flickr as a way to automatically back up photos for free. I quickly ran out of free icloud storage and I haven't wanted to pay for more.In Flickr, the auto uploads from your phone are set to private by default, but you could use flickr to share albums with friends who don't own any apple products... unlike icloud photo sharing, that only allows your friends with an apple device to view shared albums.

Did you end up restoring from an iCloud back up or an iTunes back up? Usually if you restore from a back up, what comes on the device is what was stored on the back up, so very unlikely you will get any additional photos back.

ITunes won't sync from Mac to iPhone 6

I have a MacBook Pro using OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
I use iTunes 12.1.26.
I recently bought an iPhone 6, 64gb version 8.1.2 and am trying to put the music I have on iTunes on my Mac into my new iPhone 6.
It's not working.
I connect the two via the USB cable that came with the phone, and the Mac registers that they are connected. While the two are connected I can play songs from my Mac on the iPhone if I have Home Sharing switched on, but that is it. When I try to sync them and transfer songs over, it says that the sync is in progress, and goes through 4 syncing steps in order; however the total time is only about 4 seconds and no music transfers. The total music is about 11gb and the iPhone does register that about that much memory should be used up by a sync. I have pressed every 'sync' button I can find more times than I can count and nothing works.
I have absolutely no idea what to do and no forum that I have been on yet has an explanation.
If anyone has any ideas for how to help me (using basic terms please because I'm not that savvy with computers) I would really appreciate it.

mine will appear to sync then after its complete the display bar showing memory usage immediately retracts to how it was before syncing. I've tried turning off my phone and re-downloading the latest iTunes, I have a mac book pro. please help I only got a phone with a lot of memory so that I could have music!
