Help! E66 - WiFi

bought e66 2 weeks ago. unable to connect to secured network. assigned ip address to the phone and entered the settings manually. no luck. message is either 'no gateaway reply' or 'system error'. returned the phone once to the dealer and contacted nokia care line as well as the phone was reformatted by nokia care centre. same problem n they cant help any further. if i do happen to connect, i cant load another page. anyone can help?

Hi guys after changing my E65 to E66 I am very disapointed. The WLan is not working with WPA secured connections. The SIP is not working over WLan at all. If the WLan is unsecured a connection can be established but the throughput is less than a GPRS connection regardless the uplink of 1 Mbps. All this issues do not exist on exactly the same setup with my E65. I hope there will be a solution soon because this is not a cheap entry level phone. It supposed to be a business phone and should have been completely tested prior to its release on the market.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)

if you have no back up in icloud or itunes the best you can do is sync with your computer and get back what you can from there

Hello all. First post. Old time Apple user (Apple II+, IIc, IIGS) but nothing since. Wife was a big Mac user too but the last 10 years we have been PC.
Just got a White 2Ghz 1Gb RAM MacBook C2D for her a couple days ago. She had reservations about getting a MAC even though she liked the formfactor and the fact it was Apple. After checking it out at the Apple store several times we got it.
Well, she really dislikes Entourage and loves Outlook. Outlook allowed her to sync everything from Calendar and Address Book within the app and she's used to it. Evidently the Calendar within the MacBook is not too friendly and feature-less, nothing syncs with the email program, etc. I don't want to go the Parallels, XP, Microsoft Outlook route. It's expensive and we might have well as bought a PC.
I ordered the Missing Manual Pogue book and it will be here in a couple days. I'm hoping that things will clear up. I assured her that everything probably syncs internally and Entourage has most of the features of Outlook.
Any advide before she officially blows a gasket? (Tongue in cheek...)

When I understand you correctly you and your wife what to use Entourage and sync it with whatever you want. I did a search at www.macupdate.com and came up with e2sync 2.8.
I never tried it and it's not free, but maybe it helps for what you get in mind.
Try to convice your wife to use Entourage and not Outlook ... I had a customer a while ago who absolute wanted to use Outlook, but after a while he thanked me for installing Entourage because in the end it is easier to use and has some nice features Outlook didn't have.

PLEASE HELP - my wife is going to kill me! Cannot locate her "books"

OK - Here is the scoop! (Call me stupid!) We have about 14 blazillion pictures in iPhoto and I was attempting to manage them alittle better so I downloaded the freeware "iPhoto Buddy" to help manage the pics. Well, I obviously did not know what the heck I was doing and the next time I opened up iPhoto, it appeared that all our pictures were gone. I re-imported them into iPhoto and everything was great, except that I was not able to locate the phot albums that my wife has ordered and made via iphoto and mac.
Well she was OK with that (if she had to be) and so she proceeded to create the new "grandmother's" Christmas books and then I got stupid again and tried to find all the old albums she had made. Well, I saw on IphotoBuddy's help info that if you wanted to go back to y our original library - go to "Use Default Library" and that is what I did. Once that was finished - it appeared all was OK again, with all the OLD albums loaded back in iPhoto again, but now the one that she had spent HOURS on was missing. I had to reload the last month's pictures, but that was fairly painless.
SO - FIRST of all - how do I get rid of iPhotoBuddy (if and when that is appropriate?)
SECOND - how can I find the photo album that she has just made? She has nt ordered it yet, but she spend HOURS on it.
THIRD - can I "streamline" the "album" issues that I have? What do I need? iPhot library? 2003 library? 2004 library, etc? Please advise-

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's apparent that you have two iPhoto libraries in your Pictures folder, the original one and the new one with the new book. You can use iPB to move between the two libraries until the book is completed and purchased. Then delete the book library and go back to the original with all the albums.
You can use iPhoto Library Manager to move between the two also but iPLM will let you rename the libraries to better identify them. You can call the library with the book "Book Library" and the folder in the Pictures folder will be renamed Book Library.
OR, the paid version of iPhoto Library manager will let you copy rolls and/or albums from one library to another and keep keywords, comments, etc. intact. So you could copy all of the albums from the old library into the "Book Library" and let it become your primary library.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I attempted to updated my Macbook air via MacBookAirUpdate.pkg. I was prompted (this is not supported on your system). I am having a major problem with my wifi constantly dropping and searching (looking for network) I was told this update have the fix. I’m very frustrated! help! what do I do?

Hi there,
When you say that your WiFi is connected, I'm assuming that you mean that the WiFi symbol is white, correct? If so, there are a couple of things to try. First, I'd start off by rebooting your device. To do this, simply remove the battery for 15-30 seconds, reinsert and wait for the device to reboot.
Once you've done that, if it still doesn't work, go to your WiFi options and delete the connection from your phone. Reboot the phone again using a battery pull and then connect to the WiFi network again. If it still doesn't work, you may need to check your router settings to ensure that your router is giving your BlackBerry access. If you need help with that, please post back with the brand name and model number of your router.

HELP with WiFi Printing on my Mac Book 10.8.4

My Mac Book Pro 10.8.4 will not print through WiFi but when I hit test it will print but will not print a document or anything else. I have a new Brother MFC-J435W and have spent over 8 hours trying to get this hooked up and running. I tried it on my daughters iMac 10.7.5 and it printed WiFi right away without downloading or doing anything else. HELP I'm at a loss!

Desperate in Rio Grande Valley! Need help with wifi???!!!

I use wifi all the time but am at a campground where everyone else is online but me & no mac gurus. This campground wants login & password. Usually I just open the computer & I'm on. Not here!
When I open the computer it often asks me if I want to join the Bentsen Palm Village network, I hit ok & the bars come up but when I hit Safari I get the disconnect page.
When I go to "others" under Airport icon I get the page to put in the login & password but when I go further I get an "error trying to connect with Benstsen Palm Village network" try again or ok.... try again gets me nowhere.
The campground wants login & password info & I assume I use that screen under "others" to put it..but am not sure. Under "others" would the Network be the same as Login"?
Hope someone can help me. I'm going NUTS!

Need help using WiFi on my BB 8900 while abroad! Please help

Hello everyone,
I am an O2 UK costumer spending the holidays in France. Since I arrived 3 days ago, I've been using my house's WiFi network to access facebook, BBM, e-mails etc and it worked just fine.
Last night, I briefly put another SIM card (Orange - France) in my unlocked blackberry, and immediately realised that Internet wasn't working anymore. I thought it came from the new SIM so I put the O2 one back in, (the one that was working just fine). But it didn't come back.
I saw several messages similar to this one, but so far no solution has solved the problem.
I tried changing the browser configuration to Hotspot Browser, deleted my saved WiFi connection and put in back in, re-booted the device several times, turning all connections off then back on, but nothing does it.
My phone seems to be connected to my network just fine, although the Wifi sign stays grey and not white (like it used to be when it was working).
The weirdest thing is: Although I can't use BBM, receive e-mails or browse the Internet, I can still access Facebook (but I don't receive notifications).
If anyone has an idea on how to fix it, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks a billion and happy holidays!

I'm not sure there's a way to check then. You have to have the device connected to get into the Sync options to see which program is set to sync with the BlackBerry.

Need help with wifi on iPad 2 and to some extent iPhone 4

I have a few different wireless routers and no matter what I do or how I set them up, my wifi only iPad 2 has very erratic wifi speeds.
I see the same thing but to a lesser degree on my wife's and my iPhone 4 (2 of them).
I have a few year old Apple Airport Extreme and a brand new Cisco Linksys E3200.
The Airport extreme has very little options, but on the E3200 I have tried all the different wifi options (mixed, G only, N only which I can't even connect too) and using both or just one of the dual bands.
I am really at my wit's end here and two trips to the Apple store have yielded nothing. First genius said to wipe the iPad 2 and set it up as a new device and the 2nd genius said buy a new router (which is why I purchased the E3200).
Of course the apple store wifi it behaves flawlessly, but I suspect being an open network helps that...
Anyway, my internet service is uVerse and I get wired Speedtests in the neighborhood of 10-12 Mbps, but on the iPad it never goes above 6 Mbps down.

Help with Wifi card install

I bought a wifi card for my 2009 Mac Pro. I am going to install it but I need to know which of the three antenna wires I need to connect? One person said 1 and 2, but one other site said the correct one was 2 and 3.
Has anyone here done this and know which cables to connect? Any help I would appreciate.
Again I am installing the wifi card in a brand new Mac Pro.

- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Help with wifi....PLEASE

So i have an original iPhone and have been using it. As of recently, however, the wifi circle continuously spins with no networks found. At first, i thought this was a hardware issue, but i tried placing the phone in a freezer and the wifi worked for about 5 mins before heating up again. I have seen report of resetting the baseband for the modem solving this problem.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
I have never jail broken or unlocked this phone so this problem is not linked to that

I had a similar issue and I found that I can use WiFi if the SIM card is not inserted. Since you don't use that iPhone anymore as a phone I suggest you to take out the SIM card and reboot. After that you should see the WiFi signal appearing again.
