Help Elements 12 will not launch

Please help, Elements 12 will not launch..no problems with previous versions or Premeir Elements 12 or Lightroom 4.

I'm running Win7, i7 precessor, plenty of RAM. I've purchased/upgraded from Elements/Premier 9,10,11 without issue..Since upgrading to Elements 12 the software opens sporatically at best. I've spent 15+hr's and $60.00 with Adobe Support and still not resolved. Cannot open PremierElements or Lightroom 5 either. Here's what happens..I click on the icon and the timer spins for 5 or 6 seconds and stops. This happens most often after my computer re-boots for maintenance. I've changed the permissions and thought it was fixed but after a week the same thing happens..I've unistalled and reinstalled more times then you can imagine.
I do appreciate any help you can offer..works fine on my laptop runnning Win8

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

Try launching the editor and entering your serial number there if asked.

Photoshop Elements 4 will not launch

I have installed Photoshop Elements 4 on my MacBook. Photoshop Elements 4 is a PowerPC app. (not Universal). From what I've read, it should open with Rosetta. But every time I try to open it, I get an error message: "The application Photoshop Elements quit unexpectedly." I've uninstalled and installed several times.
I've tried going to File>Get Info so see if I could make this PowerPC app open under Rosetta, but that choice is not available under "General".
Is there any way I can use this non-universal program in my intel-based Mac?
I guess what I'm really asking is whether Photoshop Elements 4 for Mac (PowerPC) is supported by Rosetta (since it's not a universal application). If it's not supported, I suppose that means I can't use it on my intel-based MacBook.

I have had PE 4.0 running on my MacBook Pro 17" for about a year. Two days ago I tried launching PE 4.0 like normal and it fails. On the advice of Apple I tried creating a new account. The error message on install says a file is missing. It does not say which file. Installation continues until completed but PE 4.0 will not launch. I also trashed absolutely every Adobe file I could find, including preferences, repaired permissions, etc., reinstalled PE 4.0. Still no joy. I am running 10.4.9 with the last update about two weeks ago. PE 4.0 would lanuch and run fine until two days ago. Any suggestions?

Any fix for why my photoshop elements 12 will not launch?

Hi - had to get new computer after old one died... reinstalled (twice) Photoshop Elements 12 and now it will not launch. When I click on icon, the first screen open allowing me to select between the Organizer and Editor. When I click on Editor, nothing happens... never launches. Seems this has happened to others, anyone know how to fix?

Did you ever use Help> Sign In to activate it? Both entering a serial number and signing in are required (once signed in you don't ever sign out unless you want to deactivate the software).
The advice here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1452533?tstart=0 - should allow the software to restart so that you can activate it.

Elements 12 will not launch (either)

I have been using Elements since version 3. It has been a great program - until version 10 arrived. It works, but not satisfactorily. If I quit the program it will not launch unless I reboot, and the welcome screen does not launch at all.
Version 11 never worked. Task manager shows that it is loading, but nothing else happens. No error messages.The Editor seems to work, though, but the Organizer does not. So for a year I have been very frustrated, not being able to use the program I had paid for. Nevertheless I bought version 12, and hoped that this version would work. Bur so far I have had no success. The Editor launches, but the Welcome screen and the Organizer do not. I am using Win7 64 bit, 8 Gb ram. None of the suggestions in this forum have been to any help. So what do I do? Øivind

I have tried different suggestions - especially to make PSE 11 to work. Deinstalling and reinstalling and running the organizer.exe file as administrator from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" (this works in PSE 10). There is no status.dat and psa.prf to delete, they were probably never created in PSE 11 and PSE 12. I have posted the log file from PSE 11 - it is very short:

Something happens when "Begin AMT Library calls" is running in PSE 11 and 12. I do not know what this is, and no one have commented this in my earlier postings. I have been adviced to run a utility called " Adobe Creative suite cleaner tool", but I am afraid that it will remove my PSE catalog as well, and that would be very inconvenient. Apple programs, Help, Mail, iTunes, Safari, Quicktime will not launch.

Recently we downloaded some upgrades from Apple and now Help, Mail, iTunes, Safari and Quicktime will not launch. The icon dances on the dock, and the operating system records the program as having opened, but the program does not come up and the icon menu on the dock still displays open rather than quit. I have tried re-installing the programs to no avail.

Itunes 7.0 will not launch! HELP!!!

It will not launch but, it gives no error. I have made sure quicktime is not in safe mode and have made sure audio speakers are set for headphones. Those are the only two things that I could find on apple's website that they suggest to try. What next? Thanks for any help!

I too am having the same problem. It's odd: I click on itunes.exe (either shortcut or from the iTunes directory), and through task manager I can see the iTunes process start for a split second before disappearing and then nothing – no error messages, nothing.
The first time I click the link, I can hear my hard drive whirring away as it normally does when starting an app, but once it fails to start, subsequent clicks on iTunes.exe fail to provoke anything from the PC (running XP Pro).
I have tried various options found on these discussion pages such as:
- repair install
- uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling stand alone QT
- uninstalling Quicktime and installing 'alternate' QT
- turning off anti-virus apps (I use AVG)
- turning off windows firewall (mind you, if it had then worked after having both of the above turned off; I don't think I'd use it anyway...)
Grateful if anybody has any solutions; I was really pleased with the jukebox-style artwork viewer of the previous-most-recent iTunes, and I have rarely had troubles before. Have Apple dropped the ball on this one?

I have no answers for ya, but I do have the same problem, so we are not alone in this.
My iTunes stopped working after I did a couple of software updates that got my iTunes up to v. 11.4. Since that update, I can't get iTunes to open at all, neither from my dock nor from the Applications menu.
I'm wondering: Perhaps these latest iTunes updates are simply too advanced for my 10.6.8 operating system? If that's the case, how can I backtrack to an earlier version of iTunes that is compatible with my computer OS?
Any thoughts?

Hmmm. You've tried normal reboot etc., I assume. Repaired permissions? Trashed the app before reinstalling? Is this a CC version or perpetual license? All other apps are opening ok? Photoshop Elements 10 will not launch(open) from it's tile in windows 8,if I restart the computer then try it, it launches. but once I close the program and try to launch it agian from the tile it won't launch (open)

You might unpin (Unpin from Start) the photoshop elements 10 shortcut from the start screen and then go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10 and right click on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and choose Pin to Start.
And/or if you want an shortcut on the actual desktop you can use Send to>Desktop (create shortcut)
Perhaps the shortcut directly to the pse 10 editor will work better when using the start screen.

Photoshop Elements 10 will not launch any longer in VISTA

I have had PSE 10 for a year or 2 and never had a problem. It was working on Friday, had a Java Update, then on Saturday PSE will not launch in Vista. We have recovered the computer to a previous date and that did not work. We uninstalled PSE and reinstalled and still will not launch. Need to know what the fix would be to correct this.
Any help out there?

What isn't working? The welcome screen, the editor, the organizer? Can you launch either of the latter if you go into the program files and try directly from their .exe files?

Safari will not launch- any help would be greatly appreciated

This past week my safari began to fail to launch. It worked fine monday, on my friends home wireless. However when we booted it up Tuesday at our home-also wireless- it would not open. All other internet access works fine-ie ichat, itunes etc., but we can't get it to open with anything. When you click the icon it bounces as it were about to launch but never gets the black carrot under it. I opened the system activity monitor, and it also does not show it launching. I attempted to reinstall it using the number 2 setup disk, but that didn't seam to make a difference. It also will not launch if clicking on a saved html file nor on a hyperlink.... I tried moving the safari file folder and preferences file out of the library onto the desktop and restarting it(I had read that on a different post) but that had no effect...As I am used to working on a plain old IBM computer I'm not sure how else to trouble shoot the mac as its my girlfriends... any help would be greatly appreciated as we can't access the internet on hers to even download netscape or internet explorer

Your steps so far are OK but you may want to try:
1 Trash your user library Caches folder (House Icon with short name in Finder window (hard drive window)GOTO:House icon > Library folder > caches folder
2 Trash the com.apple.Safari.plist file in User library > preferences folder > Safari.plist as well as removing the library Safari folder its self.
3 you can selectivly re-install Safari 2.0 from your OS Tiger Install disk 1, (see Knowledge base article 301229 for how to just select the Safari Application) without doing a complete system Archive and Install.
4. Create a new Test user account on the system and test how Safari responds in the Test user, see if its a user related issue and not system issue.
5. Still no Safari response? have to do an Archive and install (not preserving user and network settings)article 107120
PS. Issue may be related to actual internet connection connectivity, power cycle cable modem and router or airport if using one as well as the computer(keep unplugged for 3-5 min) and plug the cable modem in and then the router/airport then power on the computer. Do the Airport Admin utiliy (applications, utilities on HD_1)update.
- do a hard reset of airport knowledge base article 108044(Express base) and 107451 (Extreme base)
- Check with internet provider for connection issues "cannot find server" ect.

Elements 12 Organizer running on Windows 7 will not launch

I have Elements 12 for over six months and it has been working fine.
I have used Photo editor several times today without a problem.
When I try to launch organizer either from within Editor or from the welcome screen it will not launch.
It appears to being going through the motions but never opens.
I am open to all suggestions at this point.

Try making a direct shortcut to the Organize executable.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut – navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer
Choose PhotoshopElementsOrganizer with the gray program icon (not Photoshop Elements 12.0 with a blue program icon).
Double-click your new desktop icon to launch.
