  • MSI GeForce 6600GT temp monitoring

Hi, i was just wondering if there was a pre-modded / tested bios available that enables temp monitoring in MSI's 6600GT VTD-128. I didn't think i could hex it myself so i just wanted to know if anyone had success doing it.
    Thanks,

Hi you could check those sites like this :  Enabling Temperature Monitoring on the nVidia 6600GT
but I wont recommend you to do that if you are don't know a lot about computers and updating/editing bios.

  • Help with faulty monitor

    Hi all
I have a 19" CRT monitor which I use with my G5. The monitor has developed a fault and I wonder if anyone might be able to help diagnose what the problem is.
Whenever there is a large area of white on the screen the picture develops a high frequency wobble in a horizontal band accross the screen. This is accompanied by a squealing sound from the monitor itself.
Does anyone know what might be the cause of this and is it likely to be repairable?
    Thanks in advance...
    Derek.

Letter from LaCie technical support. It seemed to help me, the monitor is working fine, must have been loose connection.
Thanks for contacting LaCie Technical Support. Try the following to see
    if they resolve your issues:
--Try a different VGA cable to eliminate that as a cause (if this
    monitor's cable is not built-in).
--Try the monitor on a different computer or a different monitor on the
same computer to verify it is not a video card issue.
The following two especially apply if the monitor has been moved, or
there have been changes in the environment around the monitor.
--The monitor can be affected by magnetic or electromagnetic energy.
Make sure there are no magnets on or by the monitor (especially
speakers). Keep the monitor and its cables away from motors,
high-voltage areas, electrical cords, metal poles, etc.--anything that
can produce or conduct electricity or magnetism.
----The monitor can be affected by dirty power. Put the monitor on a
power conditioner on a dedicated circuit if at all possible. Appliances
sharing the same circuit can cause trouble--blenders, microwaves,
hairdryers, fans, even other monitors, etc. Also, try a different
circuit in case the circuit you are using is wired incorrectly.

  • MSI 6600 GT question...Temp monitor on 6600GT?

I'm about to return my XFX 6600GT because of problems. How is the MSI version of the card? Is the temp monitor available under Nvidia properties?

Just my copy to another reply:
I have the same card but use nVidia drivers to give me a temp read on the GPU.  I have loaded from scratch and like the nVidia settings screens because they give you more options.  Below is my overclock with MSI drivers and nVidia drivers.  The overclock is about the same so it depends on your use of the card...automated with MSI & DOT, manual with nVidia.  My GPU Temp read is around 47c to 48c.

  • Why T430 connect with monitor through VGA can only have 60 fps refreash rate?

    I have a T430 and T420.
When I connect the T420 with monitor through VGA, the refreash rate of the monitor can be 75 fps in 1600*900. But When I connect the T430 with the same monitor through VGA, the refresh rate can only be 60 fps, no 75 fps option in the list, Anybody has idea why it works like this?
    Thanks very much.

Actually, on second thought, does the external monitor show up as "Generic PnP monitor" in Device Manager? Or does it show up as the correct model number?

  • Recommendations for server rack temp monitoring?

Our server room isn't large, we only have one rack with two Xserves, an Xserve RAID and a few other things. But temperature is obviously a concern and I worry about the day when the portable AC unit kicks the bucket and I'm away from the office.
Does anyone have recommendations some kind of temp monitoring device with email notifications, maybe web monitoring?

At work, we use a rack-mount Senturion Environment Monitor, it monitors the temp, humidity, etc. It can send SMS and email alerts, and you can monitor it on the web, it just needs power and a network connection. We got it when our AC actually did kick the bucket and 50 servers overheated. :-/

  • It ALL works (mostly)!!! CPU Temp Monitor??

Just finished assembling my new system and loading it up this weekend, and amazingly, it works. Even with CL3 ram it runs much faster than a P4 1.8A on SiS 645/DDR333 board I had. I am amazed at how big a difference there is in the way XP Pro loads and retrieves data and how smooth it sets up. I did not have to load ANY drivers! A huge step forward from 98SE.
The only issue appears to be that the temperature monitor is out to lunch (So was my last board the SiS645 one, it did the exact same thing) for both CPU and Case. I installed a seperate case system to monitor temp and it gives me 22 deg C after I rearranged the airflow from the fans. I am thinking of drilling out the stock heatsink and inserting one of these temp monitors to real time monitor the CPU.
Has anyone come up with a good way to really monitor CPU temps with this board??

    Hey,
I loaded up MBM (after I figured out what it was and where to find it). It seems pretty good: The case reads 37 deg C (my independent sensor reads 27 deg and bios says 47) and CPU reads 47 deg (bios says 57).
The real questions is : My -12 volts reads -6, and I have played with the settings to find the right sensor, and every sensor I select changes all the voltage readings. Is there a specific selection for readings that sets this up right?
Also, I found a Lian-Li temp sensor with thin tape probes that is designed to be set between CPU/Heatsink to provide real time accurate monitoring for chips (theres two, so I plan on doing CPU and NB), so I will have real data instead of hoping it is right. (19.00 US). Nice little 3.5" or 5.25"  models avail in black, silver or beige.

    Hi,
Re: HP TouchSmart 610-1250, 64 bit, Win 7.
This is a new computer, my first all-in-one, and I want to monitor core temp. My CPU gadget tells me this has no core temp monitor system. Is it possible to download a monitor?
As an all in one, I'm concerned about heat build up, since I'm using it all day.

Have you tried SIW? (System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala) I highly recommend it. Go to the sensors page after you open it, and then It should tell you.
Please give Kudos. What other kind of recognition could I get?

  • Temp monitor for ppc?

what cpu temp monitor can be used for ppc mac mini or ppc mac?
using http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html the widget one and i think that it is reporting the harddisk temp and not the cpu temp since it has the only option of "SMART Disk hardisk model here" and gave me a 45C-49C temp

I don't think there is a CPU temperature sensor on the PPC mini.

  • Best temp monitor program for K8N and 6800GT?

I'm looking for a temp monitoring program that will display the following temps:
    CPU
    Chipset (system)
    GPU
Core Center is ok but it doesn't allow for precise history and it doesn't display GPU temp.

The only thing I can suggest is a hardware thermistor and display, I have a GMC X-21 case which has a small temperature display on the font, and you can place the thermistor anywhere you like. I have it in between 2 fins on my CPU heatsink and it reads the temperature exactly the same as corecentre.

  • Temp Monitor issue

I just did a clean install on my blackbook, and reinstalled the temp monitor 3.9 version.
Now the issue is that it does not read the processor temps but just the harddrive temp. Also it prompted me that I needed to install some intel drivers.
Problem is I clicked NO by accident. Is there anyway I can get the drivers again??
Does anyone know what these drivers were, or where I can download them??
    Any input would be apreciated.

In the Temperature Monitor menu named "Monitor", there are two choices called "Install driver for extended x86 support" and "Uninstall..etc". If you haven't installed the driver, the install option should be available (with the other grayed out). Click to install.
It 's a kernel extension needed to read the CPU temps.

  • Need help how to monitor VGA temp

i just have modded my G4Ti4200 8x for fun and planning on overclocking the hell out of before i get a new card......so anyone knows any good program for monitoring VGA TEMPS....please

    baz007,
It has been a long time since I have used one of those Vid Cards, if the ForceWare Drivers do not show the temps, then the card probably does not have one.
When it comes to overclocking that card, I would just use something like 3DMark2001SE Build 330. I would increase the Core first, a couple of Mhz at a time until the benchmark starts showing artifacts, or locking up. Then back off the core a couple of Mhz so it is stable and start on the RAM, doing the same thing. After that you are set and I would not worry about the temps.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • How to Setup Nouveau with Two Monitors? ("VGA-1 disconnected")

    Hey Guys,
I have a sweet MythTV setup arranged like this:   tower & flatpanel LCD in office with an old-fashioned CRT TV in the living room.
I am able to run movies/video on the CRT while the kitchen LCD can be used to do other stuff.  (Am I describing two X sessions? A 'dual-monitor' setup?)  I could move the cursor from one screen to the other--but couldn't drag windows from one screen to the other...
I'm using an NVIDIA driver (GeForce 8400 GS card)--but the nvidia stuff can cause problems (one recent upgrade of driver and kernel caused a 99% cpu issue.)
Because of that (and a lot of other problems--it's an old Arch install) I did a clean Arch install today on a separate partition and am hoping to use the Nouveau driver to drive both monitors in the same way I just described.
I've got Nouveau running and the kitchen LCD is fine....  When I turn on the CRT, it's black.
Unfortunately, xrandr says that the living room CRT (the tv) is "disconnected":
    $ xrandr
    Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 8192 x 8192
    DVI-I-1 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 340mm x 270mm

       1280x960       60.0
       1280x800       74.9     59.9
       1152x864       75.0
       1280x768       74.9     60.0
       1024x768       75.1     70.1     60.0
       1024x576       60.0
       832x624        74.6
       800x600        72.2     75.0     60.3     56.2
       848x480        60.0
       640x480        72.8     75.0     60.0
       720x400        70.1
VGA-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
I know the cable/connection is fine, because I can boot into the 'old' install and everything still works (with the nvidia driver).

By adding the following to the kernel line in the GRUB menu, I was able to get VGA-1 "connected":
    video=VGA-1:e
but that had the side-effect of changing the resolution of DVI-I-1 to that of VGA-1, namely 1024x768.
