Help:  encoder not recognizing audio in mpg

i have to convery a number of mpgs into flvs using flash's
video encoder. the mpgs have audio, however when i bring them into
the encoder, click on settings, and then click on the audio tab,
it's all grayed out like it's not recognizing it has audio.
anybody encounter this problem as well?
thanks!

Hi liscola,
I'm having similar issues with Flash's video encoder although
I have an MPEG file with audio that I'm converting to an FLV. I've
been using the 'Flash 8 - High Quality' setting. It starts encoding
the file but then give me the following error;
2008-04-18 13:13:34 : ENCODING FAILED
- Source file: SourceFile.mpg
- Output file: ConvertedFile.flv
- Video codec: On2 VP6
- Alpha channel encoded: no
- Deinterlace: no
- Frame rate: 0 fps
- Key frame interval: 0 frames
- Video data rate: 700 kbps
- Width: 0 pixels
- Height: 0 pixels
- Audio codec: MPEG Layer III (MP3)
- Audio data rate: 128 kbps (stereo)
- FLV duration: 00:00:00
- Encoding time: 00:02:01
====================================================================
An internal application error occurred.
====================================================================
I have looked into this and there are other posts indicating
that the encoder possibly can't format MPEGS with sound thats over
44kbps. Other people have suggested to convert the MPEG to AVI and
then to FLV but when I tried that is just reduced the quality of
the video.
If there's anyone that can help with this issue I'd really
appreciate it.
Thanks Simon

  • Adobe Media Encoder not recognizing audio

I have MXF file I need to encode on a daily basis, but AME shows there is not audio in the files. QuickTime plays (and exports) the files great with audio (showing the audio as 16-bit integer big endian) Anyway I can force AME to recognize the audio?

This is at a Television Station. Shows and Promos are digitally delived to the station in a multitude of formats to our "Master Control". They have a server that recieves the files and flips them (via Flipfactory Telestream) into a format our main HD playout server uses to playout to air. The output setting for this process can not be changed (might change in the future?).
I need the promos that these companies send. So I have to grab the flipped files from our "Master Control". The raw files that were sent are not a playable (for me) format. I can "flip" them manually using Quicktime, but I would like to be able to set up watch folders that AME can use to grab the various promos and flip them as they are recieved.
    Hope this all makes sense...

  • Help! Not recognized by Windows / iTunes

When I connect my iPod using USB 2.0, I now get a "USB device not recognized" error on Windows XP. iTunes also does not recognize that iPod is connected.
I believe this problem may have been caused when my iPod was connected to a friend's speakers. When it first connected, the following error message appeared:
"FireWire connections are not supported. To Transfer Songs, connect the USB cable provided".
After pushing the Selct button to gt rid of the error, iPod worked fine in the speakers and continues to work fine with my FM tuner and other devices.
I've tried the following to fix this problem:
    1. 4 of the 5 Rs. (Can't find a way to restore as I can't get iTunes to recognize my iPod).
    2. Reinstalled iTunes.
    3. Simple restart on computer.
    4. System restore on computer.
    5. Tried to update USB drivers.
    6. Tried to load iPod in disk mode.
    7. Went through all of the Apple Support articles for this problem and tried all of the reccomended steps.
As mentioned, my iPod works fine otherwise and I'd hate to have to send it away to be repaired if there is a simple fix. Also, my wife's Nano is working without problem on the same PC, so I have a feeling that this problem is iPod related rather than PC related (though, I could be wrong!)
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
Is there a way to restore iPod manually (i.e. without iTunes)?

Hiya! I have had the same problems and have tried all the suggested ways to fix. None of them have worked. I have also rung the apple tech support helpline and they have told me i need to go to my nearest apple store and get my i-pod tested for errors and as my i-pod is out of its warranty period i will have to pay to have it fixed and pay for the courier for it to be sent to be fixed.
i have found if i plug my i-pod in via USB and the malfunction message appears if i hold down the menu and play buttons so it switches off just before the apple logo appears switch the hold button on sometimes i-tunes will recognise it. It kicks it off again 3-4 minutes later but i manage to get a few songs on in that time.
Its a pain in the backside but this is the only way i can get it to work.
    Hope this helps someone

    hi all,
i just installed j2sdk1.4.0_02, but i have a problem. in the dos prompt, when i type C:\>javac -help, it results in a 'javac' is not recognized error. why?
my PATH enviroment variable is this:

    what am i doing wrong?
    thanks,
    jeff

Hi, I installe dthe sdk1.4.0 but have no
C:\j2sdk1.4.0_02 dir (or anything relating to java).
Did I not do something right? I can run the java
command but not javac. If you don't have a directory similar to j2sdk1.4.0_02 then you did something wrong. You can try to search your system for javac.exe. If you post the exact steps you went through, someone here may be able to

  • PLEASE HELP - Projector not recognizing signal - No one seems to answer

Help!!! I cannot get anyone either at the Apple store or Best Buy to answer my question. I have a Macbook Pro unibody bought in Nov 2009. Of course it has the mini diplay port. I bought a mini display port to vga adapter. The projector keeps giving me the message that it is not recognizing a signal. I looked on a forum where someone said it a technology issue. They said to get a mini display to a dvi cable and then a dvi adapter to a vga. I purchased the cables. The only problem is that the cables will not work together. There are some pins on the male end that have no where to plug in on the female end. It is the 4 pins that surround the flat pin. Why would Apple make two cables that will not work together. Well anyway I am back to square one and still do have a solution to why I can't display an image to a projector from my macbook pro, It is very frustrating that Apple does not have a solution for my problem. Or maybe they do and no one has yet to tell me the right thing to do.

Whoever told you to buy the MDP-DVI adapter and a DVI-VGA adapter was utterly full of baloney. Your MDP-VGA adapter was exactly the right thing to use all along. It's possible that your adapter is bad, though, or that the VGA cable connecting it to the computer is bad. It's even possible that your MacBook Pro's mini-Displayport isn't working, or that the projector isn't working.
If I were you, I'd take the machine and MDP-VGA adapter to an Apple Store's Genius Bar and ask to have the port and the adapter tested for proper function. If the projector and VGA cable also belong to you, take the whole shebang with you and have everything tested together. Apple won't take any responsibility for a malfunctioning projector, of course, but they may at least be able to pinpoint the problem for you.

  • Please help - Battery not recognized, after totally drained

Dear all, need some advice on how solving this issue. My macbook just had its battery totally drained and now it is not recognized by it.
I have tried all "tips" from the FAQ, but none of them worked out
It seems this is a "common" issue as apple guys are listing as top 3 in the FAQs...
Need help as I am travelling outside US on a project and will be dead without baterries.
For those who cannot help, find my tip: DO NOT LET YOUR MACBOOK BATTERY FULLY DRAIN!
    Thanks

Macbooks have worldwide warranties - so maybe if you have your warranty card with you - and perhaps even if you don't - you can go into an Apple shop and get it replaced - go to the genius bar and give 'em a big smile...

  • Help Ibook not recognizing extra Ram!

Hi, please help, I have just fitted a 1GB ram to my ibook as recommended by the apple genius.
When I click on about this mac it still says 256ram.
Have I done anything wrong? Ive refitted it again and it still doesnt recognize it?
Is there something else I need to do?

bluebubble, Welcome to the discussion area!
Resetting the PRAM has nothing to do with it.
One or more of the following is true:
    (1) The RAM isn't installed properly.
    (2) The RAM isn't compatible with your iBook.
    (3) The RAM is defective.
    (4) The iBook's motherboard is defective and not recognizing the RAM.

  • CD/DVD Problems w/7.3: Error 261 - DVD Backup & Not Recognizing Audio CDs

    Hello,
Since updating to iTunes 7.3 I have had issues with:
    1) iTunes recognizing an Audio CD - so I cannot currently import from CDs. This goes for Windows too in Windows Explorer; I get an I/O issue error
    2) iTunes making a backup DVD - I receive the iTunes error 261 with a fresh disk; however, my Picasa photo program quickly created a photo backup DVD.
Windows does successfully recognize a CD-ROM. Toshiba, my notebook manufacturer (Model M35-S456) does not recommend any chipset updates. I checked Intel's site (Chipset is 855PM - I/O controller is 82801DMB (ICH4M)) and it really seems like overkill to mess around with this since the issue appears linked to install iTunes 7.3.
I have followed troubleshooting suggestions and submitted my diagnostics (to assisting Apple determine drives that are having problems) at the following post - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93444

hi, this could be a gracenote cddb issue, when you pop in an audio cd, itunes tries to access the gracenote database > if it cannot then sometimes the cd will not populate in itunes. to test : disable your internet connection entirely > then pop in an audio cd > does it read the disk? > then it is likely and issue with something blocking itunes from querying that site/server.

  • Media Encoder not finding "audio capture device"

    Hi,
Im using Adobe Flash Media Encoder with Dxtory for Twitch streaming, and at first it worked fine. Recorded both my mic and game audio perfectly. Then seemingly suddenly, I fired it up  and it wouldn't stream the game audio. It would my Mic, but thats it. I then unplugged the mic and it started saying I had no Audio Capture Device. I checked in Dxtory and its set up the same as it was when it was working. It picks up both the mic and speakers like it should. I have uninstalled this program multiple times, both 3.1 and 3.2 versions, and each time when I re-download it, it loads up the same profile I had before. So when I am uninstalling it, its not uninstalling everything for some reason. Even though the program is no where to be found after its uninstalled. I have downloaded xsplit, and it picks up the game audio and my mic. So its just this program. Anyone have any ideas? I cant seem to find anything online about this issue.
    Thanks!

  • Audigy LS not recognized, Audio Suite won't inst

I've had my Audigy LS for a few years and the EAX feature has been working fine most of the time. But recently, after not playing for awhile, San Andreas has become a bit screwed up, as well as some other games. I cannot hear sounds directly in front of me/my character. Things are loudest from the sides. I know EAX is supposed to simulate surround sound and environment noise (Which it does very well in Splinter Cell and Battlefield 2), but not being able to hear what's in front of me isn't good. I haven't been able to disable EAX because the Audio Suite won't install. When I try, it give me the message:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system.
Click the Retry button to re-detect your device and continue the installation.
Click the Cancel button to quit this installation and go back to your Windows desktop."
I can see Audigy LS in my device manager, it says it's "working properly", and it's set as the device for all my audio. So what's the problem? I also tried extracting the app's .exe, but to no avail (works for installing .NET 2.0). Please help.
Edit: I have installed the latest drivers from the downloads section, but no help.Message Edited by Brat_Boy on 0-9-200709:39 PM

  • Help: ipod not recognized by computer(s)

    Hi,
my ipod (4G) has had problems: sometimes skipping songs. etc. So I decided to reset it. But the problem: It isn't seen by the PC (Windows XP) at the explorer level (same with iTunes), not by
the disk management, not by the ipod update (which dies with "internal error"). It's only seen at USB level. I installed a new updater, I changed USB, I tried 3 different computers.
Meanwhile the ipod freezes ever computer I connect. So no chkdisk, rstore or whatever is suggested.
What really annoys me: This is the 4th time with the fourth ipod this happens (It was changed 3 times by support - oncenow guarantee is lost). There must be some misconstruction within the ipod in general.
    Any ideas ?
    Regards,
    Christian

    Hi,
I've solved the problem. The problems occurs if you disconnect the ipod to often "unsafe". Then some files corrupt on the disc. Solution: restore ! But how, when PC is frozen.
    First:
Since nobody can give me help I tried and tried and then I noticed, that not the PC is frozen, but everything around the explorer. It has to do with explorer !
    Second:
After a long while, the ipod can be seen as removable disk.
Nothing ccould be done with it (explorer still frozen, no chance to something with other windows-tools).
    Third:
I read something about "external" tools for removable usb disks. I installed "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool", which has no "connection" to the explorer. This tool has seen the ipod as removable disk and could format it.
    Fourth:
After that the normal restore was possible and everything is fine now.
