HELP!! Erase and remove all settings...
Hi, Recently I purchased a iPad off craigslist and on receiving my iPad I wanted to erase out all of the data and start from the beginning.. In doing so I consulted the online instructions and my question is how long should this take? It has been 24 hours and the iPad only shows the apply sign. I cannot turn it on or off and if I reset it, it just shows the same apple sign.. If anyone knows what I can do please let me know.. It's a 64g wifi. I'm just worried I killed it.. Not really, but I just wanted to know if anyone could help me.

what method did you use to erase the data?
If you can reset it by holding down the power button until the slider appears to shut down. then you wait a few seconds and restart, you can turn on the passcode and turn on the option to "reset ipad after 10 failed attempts". type in 10 wrong codes and voila', original settings.
I think that would do exactly what your looking for.
On a personal note, I dont know if I would trust a seller for an ipad on craigslist. No warantee, no support and no recourse if something is wrong with it. the most I have bought is a bike for $30.

Need help. I am running a 27 in imac with 16 gigs of ram. Photoshop runs really fast, except when opening files. It takes 5-10 minutes to open even a small file of 1 meg. I cleaned and validated all the fonts and removed all questionable fonts. Reset preferences and still have problem. Slow to open and in force quit "Photoshop not responding" At this point should I uninstall and start over.
What are the performance Preferences?

How can I reset Safari with all components? On my MacBook with Lion, Safari does not start, does not react immediately after trying to open it. Installing a new Safari does not help. Removing parts of Safari in the Library does not help. Where can I find and remove all components as LastSession and TopSites?
The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.7 Lion is to restore OS X using OS X Recovery
Instead of restoring OS X in order to reinstall Safari, try troubleshooting extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not an extension or plug-in issue, delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test. -

I have reinstalled Mac OSX 10.6.3 and done the updates from there.
I have reinstalled ilife 11 from disk and done the updates.
I have deleted all the suggested files and then redone install and updates.
I have tried just reinstalling iphoto and doing updates.
Is there any way to get a replacement - /Library/Frameworks/iLifeSlideshow.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSlideshow

My wife gave me her older ipad. I have reset and removed all data. My Apple ID (Ipod touch) is not an email adress, but when I try to stu up the ipad it asks for my Apple ID, then tells me that for security reasons the Apple ID must be in email format?

My ipod nano was synced by itunes and removed all of my music and game files, and replaced my music with my kids music that they have put into the current itunes library. My music is nowhere to be found on my computer, so now I am in the long, forever process of adding my music back one cd at a time, but there is no history of tetris that I paid for from the itunes store. How can I get this game back for my ipod?

If my phone's memory is full, mostly due to music, how can I make it to where my IPad holds all the music and remove all of it from my phone without losing any of it? I recently got an iPad so I now use that as my main source as opposed to my Dell. Yes, I have a Dell that failed me. Miserably.
Sync your music from your computer to your iPad. Then delete the music from your iPhone.

I purchased a new ipad3 and have gotten all of my previously purchase apps loaded. Can I now perform an erase and delete all data on the old ipad without doing harm to my itunes account and my new pad?
I just bought the new iPad over the weekend. Restored from the old iPad backup - got everything moved onto the new one gave the old one to my daughter - wiped my 4 email accounts off of the old device and then she proceeded to delete all but about 3 apps from the thing. It had no effect on my new iPad.

I plugged my iphone 4 up to itunes and it reset my phone to the factory settings and erasaed all of my emails, texts, apps, and recently added contacts. How can I restore my previous settings and information?
iTunes doesn't just restore a phone to factory settings all by itself. You must have selected the incorrect button.
In any case, if there was a previous backup of your phone, you can restore your phone from this backup. Any new data you added to your phone since this backup is gone.
If you have no backup, then your data is gone. -
