HELP:  ERROR 2753 Dist_acrodist.exe

I have unistalled all Adobe related products.  I have followed this link http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/327/327197.html
Nothing is working, it quits half way throught the installation of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional.  I dont know what else to do.
Help.

A few things that were not mentioned. 1. When uninstalling, finish it up by running the MS cleanup utility (search the forum for the link). 2. Reboot. 3. Login as Administrator and turn off anti-virus. Leave other programs off too - i.e., let the install run on a machine without you trying to do other work. 4. install the program. Hopefully that helps.

I have cdrom and dongle for the above, but when I want to install the driver and software I get an error message *Error 2753 setupdiu.exe not marked for installation*. Does anyone know how to overcome this please? I am running XP Pro Thanks gtwt

Installing newer versions will not help. Beating the problem is very easy - just delete directory (or rename it if you are afraid of) C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Bluetooth Toshiba Stack\ (or where previous BT-Stack were installed) and reinstall again. It is typical Windows "Bad Previous Installation" problem.

  • Can't install new release - Error 2753 Ref pxsetup.exe ?

I ran into problems trying to uninstall Lightroom Beta. In the end, I did a manual delete, followed up by a "regedit" search for anything 'Lightroom' had left behind in the registry. Then I swept the machine using Ccleaner (great free utility at www.ccleaner.com).
Despite all my best efforts, I can't get the new version to install. (I wanted to install the trial version and then register it within the 30 day period).
I keep getting an error message part way through the actual install process saying:
Error 2753: The file pxsetup.exe is not marked for installation.
To try and resolve this I've tried installing direct from the Adobe site using the run command, but get the same problem?
I've also tried switching off my Firewall/Anti virus software during the install process. That didn't help either.
I tried ringing Adobe saying I wanted to install and buy their product, but they refuse to give any assistance to anything Beta related! Because of this problem I can't install and register. As I'm not registered, I can't get any help from Adobe product support?
I would be very much appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks, Paul

I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to uninstall Adobe Flash
Player 10 ActiveX yet I can't find it on the list of Add/Remove
Programs. I have cleaned the registry with CCLEANER application. I
also followed instructions for removing the registry keys of the
    following website

I am stuck and I don't know how to remove Adobe Flash Player 10
ActiveX from my computer. Can anyone help me Much Appreciated!

We had this same problem recently and the faultbucket link pointed me in the right direction however the registry entries were different for us.
Most of our computers were fine but some had problems with Flash Plugins and some with Activex and some both.
The  best way to fix a computer or set of computers is to first uninstall  all Flash and then note all remaining Flash entries in  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products.
These entries can vary based on what versions got corrupted on your systems.
This  ended up being the fix for us for both Flash Plugin and ActiveX  version. We tested it and had great success as a .reg file and are now  deploying it via GPO.
(We had 4 defunct registry entries for Flash plugin and 3 for Activex)

  • I am trying to install current Firefox 3.6, as I am currently running an older Firefox on my Windows ME, but I keep getting this error message: "Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE Setup will now close."--Please help?

I have downloaded all IP changer Privacy software I have purchased and am trying to install it, and although it is made to work with WindowsME that I am currently using on my computer, it now says it requires Firefox 3 or above to be able to install the software. Therefore, I am trying to update my Firefox to current 3.6 but once Firefox 3.6 downloads it doesn't install. Instead I just keep getting the same error message: Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE. Set up will now close. Several times, I have also tried restarting the computer as the error message also recommended But I just still keep getting the same error message when I try to update/install Firefox 3.5. Please help/advise on how I can fix this problem. Many thanks in advance!

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:
    [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/en-US/]
You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

  • Boot camp re-install error 2753

    Hi everyone!
I just solved a big problem with my boot camp i spend 7 hours...
    MAC BOOK PRO
    WINDOWS 7
    BOOT CAMP 3.2
After deleting boot camp 3.2 i tried to install new boot camp 3.3 but it doesnt work.
The most interesting - boot camp 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 doesnt setup too. - Error 2753.
I go to the internet to find answer. A few peoples wrote to download and install BootCamp 2.0.1, and after it 3... I found only version for xp and vista. No for win7.
After 7 hour i found a solution. Error 2753 happens because of file c:/windows/system32/AppleOSSMgr.exe. I just deleted it and try to setup again. And it works!
For all who receive error 2753 when setup bootcamp! Just try to delete file  c:/windows/system32/AppleOSSMgr.exe
    IT SIMPLY WORKS!
If it does not work for you - look up Windows Installer LOGS to see in what moment happens error.

There were some foolish suggestions, the part of going back to 2.0. typo?
Did you mean "delete" or proper method, uninstall?
Apple made it messy, getting better now, but you needed 3.0, and then upgrade to get 3.3.
Apple OS Switcher part of Apple Services msconfig and found in control panel Boot Camp is "handy" but not 100% essential (I ran Mac w/ Windows only and never needed to change default / could be done from Mac side Startup Disk and write the variable to NVRAM).
Going back to 3.0 is all. And when Lion and BC 4.0 came out and were buggy, people needed to uninstall BC 4.0, then go back to SL DVD BC 3.0.
Editorial: (skip if you are so inclinded):
What Apple should have and has transitioned to is to download the newest full package.
That was suppose to be part of Boot Camp Assistant, and intro'd in 10.6.6, but it rarely (10% success?) worked (more field testing, us) and got better with 10.6.8.
Of course with LION this became the only method to get a set of Windows drivers, BCA and wait and download and store locally.
MS Installer Cleanup Utility use to be helpful for such chores.
Turning off services is still possible along wth Startupitems.
Had you asked here, can't recall, but Windows 7 came out after 10.6, Apple though didn't rewrite BC 3.0, they just said, and confused people, with "you need Boot Camp 3.1" and of course in some cases 3.0 was so bad people could not reboot into Windows and HFS read-only was also 'hazardous.'
Sometimes seems like a) $30 for Lion just for drivers, and b) Intel and every motherboard manuf has to provide drivers for their products to add chipset support. And it is not this bad or require old out of date buggy drivers in order to install the correct ones you need.
End Editorial / Back to OP and discussion:
I don't recall in 5 yrs ever once seeing that error code mentioned and posted here. Kind of thing that sticks and I'd remember, and bookmark as well as search on MS and Bing.

  • An error occur indesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I am having trouble with adobe indesign CS5. Each time I opened my document an error occur indesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. It got send report and don't send report to Microsoft. I have already used google web as a help and nothing came up. I have already tried to uninstall and re-install it but still same issue occured. Other Adobe products such as Adobe Dreanweaver CS5 and Adobe Flash CS5 work fine.I would greatly appreciated if you can walk me through. Thanks.

Windows error reports are too vague to help us much. Did you get an error number?
Is this happening now every time you start ID? That would likely mean the recovery data is damaged. You can find the InDesign Recovery folder in your user profile. This folder is probably hidden, so you'll need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden and system files, then look in the same directory as the location of InDesign Defaults, which you can find for your version of Windows in the information in this link: Replace Your Preferences
Once you find the InDesign Recovery folder, either rename or empty it, then ID should start normally. If you file crashes again when you try to open it from the file menu please tell us as much information as you can.

  • Internal Error 2753 Updater.api  Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I'm getting an error while trying to install Acrobat Pro 9 saying:
    "Internal Error 2753 Updater.api"
I don't have any other version of Acrobat installed in XP Pro sp2.
I have seen suggestions on this for version 8 to use the installer instead.
I haven't found the download link to the msi file for Acrobat Pro 9.
It really would be nice if they fixed the problem since it was happening in 8 also.
    Thank you,

This is for a different version of Acrobat, but it might help:
