Help, Error 3194 updating to iOS 5..

I am trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0... downloaded the firmware, but keep getting a 3194 error code when iTunes tries to authenticate with the server... My host file isnt modified and is not blocking iTunes, but I DO now have a brick for a phone due to this issue.. Anyone know of an alternate way to install iOS 5 without iTunes or get this resolved? Thanks!

I ran into this issue a couple times yesterday during the initial restore/update around noon pacific time and this too was about the most annoying issue I have ever run into. Here is about the only list of things to try to try to get past this issue:
Do a HARD reset of the iPhone - holding the Lock/Power button and Home Buttons until the iPhone powers down and the Apple Logo reappears.
Make sure that your Mac (I'm assuming) has all recent security and iTunes updates completed; Safari, too, made a diff here as well.
Do a HARD reset on the computer as well.
Launch ITunes FIRST then connect the IPhone to the USB again.
Upon recognition, hopefully, ITunes will want to do the Update to iOS 5 for you, do its LOOOOONG back-up, and then install the update for you and then put everything back on.
BEWARE - your iPhone MIGHT have its apps scattered all over the place. IF this happens, after the update, and everything is hunky dory, try and do a Restore from Backup and hopefully it puts everything back in its rightful place.

As pdroth said, you should have gotten a backup made when you started the update of iOS. If you cannot find a backup, and the phone is in recovery mode, there are no futher suggestions to make. To get the phone working again you have to restore. You cannot force a backup at this time since it is already in recovery mode. It will not allow anything else but a restore at this point.

I am running Windows Vista Home Basic (32-Bit)
I have used iTunes for years, while owning various iPods and an iPhone 3g.
Today I bought an iPhone 4 and came home looking to immediately update to iOS 5, while installing I got this error:
After searching around, I decided to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall starting at iTunes 9.
I also ran Windows update and everything is up to par.
I still recieve the same error, please help!

HT201210 Error 3194 - Upgrading to iOS 6

I can't update my iPhone 4S from iOS 5.1.1 to 6.0. I keep getting the 3194 error. I updated iTunes to the lates version, I restarted my phone and computer but I still get this error. I do not have my phone jailbroken and it had never been jailbroken. Can someone help me please?

The iPhone is all genuine and iTunes downloaded the update file no problem. Its when i try to update the phone that i get this error. please help.

i did find a solution.
i force quit everything & restarted the Mac mini with the iPhone plugged in.
as it started the iPhone requested do I wish to trust this computer...yes or no.
i chose yes. opened iTunes & repeated the update process. worked fine !

Error 9006 - Update to iOS for iPad

I have been trying to update my iOS software to 4.2 for my iPad and keep getting the error 9006 and have to start the procedure all over again. Sometimes it gets to 200mb complete, sometimes just 20mb.
I have searched previous forums and cannot find any information to help. I am using Windows Vista with iTunes 10.1

Ok! Eureka! I think I've got it!
Quick background. I live in CPT and my parents in DBN. I have an ipad and iphone 3Gs and have had NO problem with downloads. Its important to note though that I have the Telkom 4Meg DSL line that is called their 'fastest - 4096kbps'. My parents have the 'Faster' which is 512kbps -or middle of the road. My dad has been unable to get the updates AT ALL since he got his equipment. Anyway i tried for 2 solid weeks to do the updates on both iphone and ipad to no avail. Kept getting error 9006. We have since discovered that DSL line that they have at home is not operating to even a 1/4 of its supposed 'faster' marketing. In fact when my mother tried to upgrade they said she couldnt because they dont have capacity to do so...yet they still pay the price! Anyway, when I got back to CPT i updated both my dads ipad and iphone in 15 mins and with no error. Thats what made me think its a speed and line error for the area you live in. You need to check if the line is stable and fast enough to do the update. Check that here [if you are in SA] http://www.telkomsa.net/ and go to speed test. My download speed is 1.68Mb/s. So if you want the update, do it in a place that offers the fastest DSL, its a Telkom issue. Hope this helps

Error 3259 updating to IOS 4.3.4 (iphone4) and 4.3.5 (ipad)

I got error 3259 updating my iphone and ipad to the latest IOS releases. i tried many times. It cant be coming from my end, my connection is good, and tried downloading sessions using my browser, which works just fine. My broadband connection is also fine, im using GPON fiber, high speed.
It seems that Apple's update servers TTL (time-to-live) settings is off the right scale.

In the podcast playing screen there is a box on the left just under the scrubber bar. It has a 1/2X. 1X or 2X. Those are the playback speeds. Tap on the box to cycle through and change the playback speed.

"No sim installed" error after updating to iOS 5.1

A notification popped up this morning asking me to update to iOS 5.1 so I updated it. Once I downloaded and installed it, it said "no sim installed". I have rebooted my phone, taken out and put back in the sim but the error message remains. I can't make calls or message, but my internet works. Anything else I can try?

i have the same problem with the 4s. I have a (cutdown) sim from virgin (in the UK), who do not offer the iphone, but it worked perfectly until this upgrade (to ios 5.1). The phone was bought unlocked from apple. now i have the no sim error. I am trying a restore and have booked a genius bar appt for later today. I have a very expensive touch at present. The sim is working fine in my old nokia, so it is not the sim that is faulty. What is going on here, why would i want to upgrade if this just creates problems. I have been up since 5am now trying to sort this so i have a phone again.

HELP!! Updating to IOS 7 wiped out my iphone. I do have an iCloud and an iTunes account, but the problem is that about 2K photos wouldn't back up to either the iCloud or iTunes without doing some updating. So I did and now I am screwed.

The backups mentioned above only back up NEW photos I took and put them on my cloud. My PC wouldn't recognize my phone without updating to IOS 7. I did some chores and came back to my phone and I have an error message on my iPhone screen. When I log into iTunes, it asks me to restore my phone, but I know that will wipe out the photos for good. Is there any way to get these old pics off my phone before restoring? Very special pics of my little boy on here.

Help, I just updated to iOS 8 and all my pages documents have disappeared! This is a disaster ! Can I get them from the cloud? If so how and can I do it without a PC or laptop?

You really need to try this on a computer, not on the iPad.
Seeing how what is in the cloud is also on the iPad, if the content is not on the iPad, there is a good chance that the content is lost. But you can try logging into www.icloud.com in a web browser on a computer and log into your account and see if you can get into the Pages app. You may have to sign up for iCloud drive if you didn't do so already. Make SURE you that you read the blurb that will pop up in that window in iCloud for more information.

I get a "download error" when trying to update to iOS 6.0.1 from 5.1.1.
I have already tried switching the iPad off and on. Also I don't currently have a laptop with iTunes on for a manual installation.
Any suggestions?
