When I was trying to import the travel's schema, I got the error:
IMP-00016: the charactorset required is not supported (from type 1 to 852)
IMP-00000: Unsuccessful import.
Any hint will be appreciated !

Your database created in different language and character set to the dmp file, you can change your nls parameters then try it.

To avoid this failure and continue loading data into the table, set the import parameter IGNORE=y. Otherwise, no data will be loaded into the table because of the table creation error."
original import tries to append (insert)
there is no parameter here like table_exists_action=truncate/replace
1. drop all the tables (dynamic sql), so there will be no errors because of already existent tables
or
2. truncate all the tables (dynamic sql) + use IGNORE=Y
(or
3. drop the whole schema in target database, recreate it, then do the import) -
When importing MXF video file from a CF card to Final Cut 6, I can only import :30 of it. Why am I limited to :30 and how do I get the entire clip?

BUT NOTE! If this is MXF from a CANON camera...their new 305 camera...you not only need a plugin to get it to work (they either include it with the camera, or you have to go to the website... the Canon Log and Transfer plugin), it also might only work with FCP 7. Because the camera is brand spankin new. Try the plugin first...well, if this is from that Canon camera. -
Im wondering if I can directly copy the prores files fcpx creates when importing c300 .mxf files from the "original media" folder, reimport them for another project to and use them that way. Is there any problem with working that way? I'm doing this bc I want to have an organize finder structure for a client but cant break the c300 card structure to split clips on a card into different "scenes" to make it easier for them to understand what they're looking at. This is all to stay NLE nuetral--we like fcpx but they might want to edit somewhere else and more details in the finder level seems like the best solution? Suggestions on any of that? Thanks.
Thanks for your response. Are you sure that FCPx is working with .mxf/c300 natively? I thought it was just a background sort of repackaging or transcode into prores that it does without you having a choice? And bc of that, for me, it's sort of a "back end" feeling file: I'm curious if it's bad to get into the package contents folder to copy it over? Not about copying prores in general-- specifically, is the prores created of c300 footage in fcpx more of a fcpx, high quality alias file? Maybe I'm just feeling a little uncomfortable grabbing things from the inside/finder level of fcpx.

IMovie and Final Cut Pro unexpectedly when importing 720p MPEG files
I'm running iMovie/FinalCutPro on Yosemite. Every time I try and import a 720p MP4 with 60FPS both programs quit unexpectedly while generating the thumbnails. The files I am using have run/imported without any problems into Quicktime, VLC, Adobe Premiere and my brother's iMovie on his Macbook Pro machine.
What I have done in no particular order:
1. Cache/preferences cleaning
2. Re-install iMovie
3. Delete all codecs except AIC and AppleMPEG2
4. Install codecs (Perian, divx, xvid)
5. Delete Flash Player
6. Repair permissions
7. Repair hard drive in safe mode
8. Delete iPhoto database, tinker with GarageBand
9. I logged in as a guest user and the problem persists
10. 540p MP4 with 30FPS and that had no problem importing into iMovie
I believe I have isolated the issue to a quicktime engine that is either corrupted or defective that is causing both iMovie and Final Cut Pro to crash. I could use Adobe Premiere or another machine, but I prefer iMovie and would like it to work on my machine. The only solution I can think of is reinstalling the OS, but I really am against that.

Audio component not apearing when importing AVCHD .MTS files
When importing AVCHD .MTS files into Premiere Pro the Audio component is not available (also in After Effects and Media Encoder)
What am I doing wrong :/You could most likely convert them using a program like 5DTORGB, and then pull them back into Premiere. Although there is a chance this won't work, however in most cases I find it usually does work. Just be prepared to lose your metadata.
If your on a PC I'd recommend downloading their beta version it will allow you to transcode your AVCHD to ProRes HQ.

All you have to is provide them a correct email address and they'll send you a download link. When you transcode though keep in mind that it's going to make your file sizes much much larger, however this because ProRes is much less compressed than AVCHD video is. You do need to keep in mind though that ProRes HQ is visually lossless. If you chose to use another free converter program you'll most likely get stuck chosing a lossy format. Another nice thing though, is that it works on MAC too. Your shooter needs to know not to do this again though, because as you already know at this point. It can cause big issues... -

i created 4 users and grant them dba role.
now i want to export only one user named DBC that user is very
important and contains 7 tables and 25,000 records.
when i start exporting user dbc it export all the user eg
system, sysdba, scott, dbc, uzma, other....
and i received this message that export terminated successfully.
but when i import abc.dmp file in another computer i recevied
such type of messages.
* unrecongnized Export file or these obecject are already exsist.
sholud i drop all users except system, scott, dbc
what should i do plz help me in this regard and tell me the
right way to export and import.

Problem in importing from dmp file
Hi ,
I am facing problem while importing from dmp file on unix server
Error is as follows :
Export file created by EXPORT:V08.01.07 via conventional path
IMP-00013: only a DBA can import a file exported by another DBA
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Export taken was with user xxx@yyy
import command is : imp xxx/ppp file=abc.dmp TABLES=xxx.table1 ignore=y feedback=500
please help me out.

Problem with importing a dmp file
Hello,
I am trying to import a dmp file to make an excercise.
I've tried and read manuals all day now, but it seems I still do something wrong
First, In the Enterprise Manager console, I create a new user (CREATE LIKE scott):

Then I create a new Table: dummy with 2 fields: A en B (varchar2 and size10)

After that, grant dba to the new user
grant dba to DEMO;Then I Run CMD and go to the c:\oracle\ora92\BIN folder

I import the dmp file (STAG3536.dmp)
and it says it succeed

So normally its ok
Then I go to my Form builder and I open a new Form
When I try to run the data wizard now. I only see the "dummy" record I created before but I dont see the database from my imported file.

if you want to import in scott scheme
you do this
connect system/password@dbname
list of contents = n
import grant = y
import table= y
import entire export file = n
user = scott

Just tell me how we can take text/flat file from Oracle tables throgh SQL * Plus environment using select command or other way.
e.g. select * from emp;
and then i make selection to all rows and press cont+c and save in notepad as text file.
But some time with thousand records i can not make selection.
Plz help me, the poper way to do this.

How to import a dmp file in OWB process?
Hi Expert.
We'd like to import a dmp file into the database using OWB before doing some data cleasing. Is it possible to call "imp" in the OWB process flow, or if there's other alternatives?

Importing a dmp file from 9.2.0.4 to 10g(patched 9.2.0.6)
i am trying to import a dmp file to a 9.2.0.6 db .
the source of the dmp file is 9.2.0.4 db.
i have tryied every thing including exporting with the 9.2.0.6 exp from 9.2.0.4.
two broblem occuer and i thing thay are connected.
a. imp hung.
b. the imp is using two versions of oracle one 9i and the other is 10g.!!

You are trying to use 9.2.0.6 import to import into 10.2.0.3 database. This is not supported. You need to use 10.2.0.3 version import. -
Error when importing a .fxp file
When I try to import a .fxp file, I get an error:
An error occured when attempting to open the FXP file. Verify if any other applications are using this file or if the destination directory has writer permissions.
Thank you for any help you can provide.This can happen when Flash Builder is unable to open the FXP file or its a bad archive. Can you open your workspace folder, look for .metadata folder and post the information in the .log file?
