HELP! Error message after itunes 10.2 update + ipad will not appear on Macs

Everything was fine until I tried to update to 10.2. Error message appeared and ipad lost sync. Now ipad does not show on computer when itunes opens. Also ipad missing several apps from screen.
How/why the heck did this happen????

See this support document for error codes. Resolve iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support The 39 does not appear, but there is a 37 and 40, so I would believe it is close to that.
If you are having trouble updating, you need to check this support document for that. You may need to put the device into Recovery Mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
It could also be the security software on the Windows PC. Another question, is the device jailbroken?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

Error Message in iTunes Producer for updated iBook

I was attempting to upload an updated version of a free book I'd created using iBooks Author. Adding the new .ibooks file to the ITMSP package went fine, and I was told it was a valid asset, but when I hit "Deliver," I got this error message:
ERROR ITMS-1471: "Provided asset does not contain a version number. Please provide a versioned epub." at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)
The Package History shows only the original upload, not today's errors. I am unclear on how I'm supposed to provide a "versioned epub," both because this is an .ibooks file and because I don't see where to add a version number that would satisfy this error message.
In addition, iTunes Connect now tells me that the book is "not on 32 stores," although the existing version does still appear to be there. So maybe the new file somehow managed to upload and it's the error message that's in error? Or is my book likely to disappear in 24-48 hours?
This seemed different enough from all the other uploading issues I'd seen, which were tagged as Java-related, that I figured I would throw it out there and see if anyone has any advice... Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: The iBookstore folks informed me that they'd fixed the problem on their end and encouraged me to try delivering the package again. It did go through, although with an error message reiterating that "the provided epub asset has not been versioned" and thus would not have "versioned support."
Which I can live with!

After 10.4.11 update, Safari will not open

After I made the 10.4.11 update, Safari will not open. When I clic its icon in the Applications folder, just nothing happens. On the attempt to start the program from Terminal, I get the following:

Might be a corrupted Safari preference file.. try this: Locate this file: com.apple.safari.plist
It's here: Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file, drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Now try to launch Safari. If it works, don't forget to click on the icon in your Dock, then click, "Keep in Dock".

TS1591 iPad will not appear in Itunes

My iPad 2 will not appear in Itunes. I have looked at other apple support pages and no of them have worked for me. It shows that the iPad is charging when I plug it into the computer but it will not show in Itunes.

I had the same problem -- here is what I did to fix it:
I turned my phone off and turned off iTunes. I then turned my phone on and then connected the phone to the computer. It automatically launched iTunes and showed up under the devices.

Error message after iTunes upgarde

I just upgraded iTunes to 9.0.2 but now when I try to open it, I get the following error message: "The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes."
Everything worked well until I upgraded. This message is confounding since to my knowledge there is no newer version than 9.0.2???

I can't say for sure that was the case but I do know that what fixed my problem (if you can believe this) was installing the QuickTime update. I'm thinking that the iTunes update corrupted something, but installing the QT update corrected the problem. Now I can burn with no problems whatsoever. You may want to give it a try.

What does this mean?

Error Message after Installing 9.2 Update

I installed the 9.2 update and it worked fine. When I tried again today I just kept getting two error messages

I looked for current / recent chatter on this iss before creating this topic. Didn't see anything that addressed this issued recently. If I missed it, sorry, if not, here you go!
I got an error message last night while using iTunes. It just popped up during use, not while using. The error message read "The iTunes Library File could not be saved." Now my hard drive is DEFINITELY not full. I have hundreds of gigs of unused space. This appears to be an issue strictly related to my library.xml file. Stupidly, I clicked the don't show me this again and closed the message. My concern now is that I'll rip new content that won't end up in my iTunes library even though it's on my hard drive, thus that content will not be findable by iTunes.
I don't want to just rebuild the library from scratch as I have fixed tons of errors in how iTunes classifies my music over the years and all that work would be lost.
Any ideas on how to get past this glitch?
I noticed this problem also cropped up circa the original iPhone launch. I had that phone and did not experience this prob, and I just upgraded to the 3G four days ago. It makes no sense to me that the phone is causing this, but perhaps the upgrade to the iTunes version 7.7 (necessary to use the iPhone with my Windows computer) is the cause of the prob.
I did erase a bunch of videos and unsubscribed to several video casts. That was one recommended solution way back when.
My concern though is that since I chose the don't show me this error message again option, I won't know whether the problem persists or not.

I have seen this a few times, usually when other 3rd-party applications are using itunes. Such as, lastfm & the Tivo remote music player.
And, I've also seen it when I was copying a bunch of digital photos to the exHD in the background while playing music and the song changed. iTunes saves the playcount in the ITL file when the song ends.
You might check this Microsoft article about "Enable write caching on the disk". I haven't seen that iTunes error since I turned mine back on for the exHD. The Tivo "delayed write failed" errors are back, but that's a different problem...

Error message after 10.1.4 update

I updated to 10.1.4 but now receive the following error message every time I try and open a pdf document "There was an error during initialiazation. Failed to load an appliaction resource (internal error). This is preventing me from using pdf's. I have removed and then re-installed 10.1.4 and also tried to repair the installation but still receive the same message. I restored back to 10.1.3 which worked perfectly but logged on this mornng for adobe to automatically update to 10.1.4 and now I have the same problem. Is there a bug in the update?

Not necessarily. The are several good non-Adobe PDF viewers out there (see http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-non-adobe-pdf-reader.htm#Quick_Selection_Guide). The fact that Adobe has yet to fix this issue is mind-blowing. You can write a note to Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen ([email protected]) to thank him for his "excellent" customer service, but he is probably thinking of his Photoshop customers, who pay for their software, and not of Adobe Reader users, who don't. However, he got McAfee to pay for it by offering to push its software along with Adobe Reader (see http://get.adobe.com/reader/).

Getting print error messages after 8.1.3 update

Adobe Acrobat 8 - Since the 8.1.3 update a couple days ago, I am now getting print error messages in the Adobe PDF printer status box when I send any document to the Adobe PDF printer. The actual printing of the document in Adobe works correctly, but these error messages occur as well - even though the document printed just fine.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate and did not have the issue prior to the 8.1.3 update.

I have removed PDFMaker from Office, to try to simplify the troubleshooting. All attempts to print end up the same, whether from PDFMaker (before I removed it from Office), from print to Adobe PDF from within an Office app, or using Create a PDF in AP 8.1.3 from an Office file ... the last hourglass comes up in "reading Adobe PDF" and stays up. I can see the "target file" created in WinExpl but greyed out, and the hourglass (busy) never goes away in AP 8.1.3.
In contrast, if I want to create a pdf from a "save as" text file, AP 8.1.3 creates the pdf instantly. Create a pdf from scanner also works fine. This problem is definitely related to updates, since AP 8.1 worked perfectly the last time I used it from Office, which was perhaps 2 months ago.
AP 8.1 suddenly stopped working this week with a "can't create PDF" error message, I updated AP all the way to 8.1.3, and have the problem described above. I don't get an error message now, the create PDF or print to PDF simply never completes.
BTW, both my desktop and notebook run Vista Ultimate 64-bit, both have registered and activated copies of AP 8.1.3, and Office 2007, and both have the exact same problem.
I uninstalled AP 8.1.3 on the desktop, installed the trial version of AP 9.0, and experienced the exact same problem as with AP 8.1.3, the create pdf never completes, but produces no error message.
I print to XPS as a workaround since print to Adobe PDF never completes.
