Help!! Error message to External Disc

I have been trying to back up to a FW 400-connected 250GB GDrive. I went ahead and partition in two, one partition exclusively for Time Machine, on GUI format or whatever, and I keep getting the message saying ERROR when creating backup folder. The other partition is also GUI format
I do not know why. I was first formatted one way, and I prepare the GDrive as explained in an apple article, to be used with Time Machine in an Intel-MacBook, meaning using GUI formatting. It erased the contents pre-existing, (but this happen very fast). Is it possible that did not securely erase and this files are perturbing??
Is it the formatting or partitioning??
Or is a bug in Time Machine pertaining to External Drives??

If you want to try this one more time, format the Time Machine disk and name it something simple (alphanumeral only, like backup01) without any spaces, special characters etc).
Once I got time machine working, I have had no problems. You can always turn off backups at times you don't need them. One of my friends only enables hers once in a few days, and only for a couple of hours. For me, it is just "leave on and forget" while the machine is on. The sense of psychological well being in an hourly backup is well worth it. (I do make a bootable backup on occasion on another drive).
Good luck with whatever backup solution you decide on.

Error message when burning discs on a MacBook and MacPro Desktop

I have encountered a problem burning a CD-R with the MacBook. I created 12 image files (JPEG) totaling 48 MB. I placed them in a Burn Folder and tried to burn them to a CD-R. I recevied the following error message "Burning the disc failed because an unexpected error occurred (error Code 0x80020000). The same problem occurred on my MacPro desktop. I spoke with an Apple technician. She had me reset the hardware on my desktop. When that did not work she told me the disk was bad. I tried a different brand of CD-R and a DVD disk with the same results. She suggested that I reinstall the operating system. Since it happened on both of my Apple computers it seems to me that the problem is related to a software bug, since it is unlikely that both machines went bad at the same time. The MacBook is only 3 months old and the MacPro desktop a little over a year old. Today I discovered that the desktop would burn a CD-R if I had only one image file in the Burn folder. Has anyone run into this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you for your reply. I have some additional information that may help you. I initially found that if I tried to burn 12 JPEG image files to a CD-R I received the error message I reported in my first post. If, however, I only tried to burn 3 files to the CD-R, they were burned onto the CD and I was able to retrieve them. If I tried to burn more than 3 files it did not work.
I took my MacBook to the Apple store Genius counter yesterday to get some help and was able to exactly reproduce the errors. The Apple techs suggested replacing the CD/DVD drive. I am waiting for the new drive to arrive. In the mean time, I discovered that if I included any number of files and sub-folders in a single main folder, and then tried to burn that main folder it worked. I was subsequently able to successfully burn a single folder containing 300MB of files and sub-folders. This seems to me to be a bug in the Mac OS, especially since it happened in exactly the same way on 2 different late model Macs. Hope this helps. Let me know if you can reproduce my experience or have any additiona information.

Please help with error message invoking external service from BPEL

Yes, I'm new to Oracle SOA Suite and BPEL Process manager. I've searched the forums, OTN, and Google and have not found any description of this error message:
"oracle.fabric.common.FabricException: Number of SOAP body elements and parts do not match in operation: <operation-name>"
Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 and WebLogic/SOA 10.3.2.0.
The BPEL process was built completely using JDeveloper's graphical tools... I haven't done any raw editing of the BPEL files yet. What types of things might I possibly be doing wrong that would cause this error to occur? Any idea what two things the server is comparing and deciding that there's a mismatch? It doesn't look like it is even attempting to invoke the external service, but bailing out before that, thinking that it's going to send bad data. Below is a bit more detail.
Also, I loaded up the WSDL (same one that I gave to JDeveloper) into SOAPUI. Then I took the payload that SOA was about to send (see below) and pasted it into SOAPUI. SOAPUI didn't complain and the target web service accepted the message and produced a "success" response. It looks like the payload is correct, so I don't know why SOA is complaining.

Welcome to BPEL. Take a moment, and write "it's a namespace issue" on a sheet of paper. Post it near your monitor. It won't always be a namespace issue, but it's usually a good thing to suspect first! Is the namespace prefix ns1: defined somewhere? Does your XML that is being sent really match what the WSDL has for input to the UpsertEmp operation? The namespaces for each element level in the XML need to match, not just the lowest level.
When problems like this get really sticky, you can use TCP tunneling (obtunnel shell?) to capture what is really being sent to the server, and compare that to what is sent from SOAPUI. That's more useful if it's a subtle header problem, but you may get better error messages if you catch the BPEL message and send it using SOAPUI.

Help - Error message during output

Dear Members of the Forum,
Could you please help me solve the following problem?
I output a project in Adobe Media Encoder CS3 in MPEG2-DVD format and ended up with two files: 'movie.m2v' video file and 'movie.wav' audio file. Then I input those two files as 'timeline' in Encore CS5, did the menus, etc. After checking the project for errors none were identified and I went on building the DVD disc. During the building process the following error messages occured:
'PGC "The Movie" has an error at 00;01;24;20.
Internal software error: %0, line The Movie Info: name=The Movie,
ref=Bpgc, time=00;01;24;20'
When I play the movie in Encore no error occurs at the specified above point of time (00;01;24;20) - there is a crossdissolve transition at this point.
Any ideas how to fix this problem or probably help how to interpret the error message?

Before I do so I need to clarify some details:
1) what does it mean to 'have gaps in the Video' that both of you mentioned one should avoid? In my case I have two coherent video.m2v + audio.wav files that were output from Adobe Media Encoder. Both play just fine until I try to output them from Encore. Do you mean gaps between the movie files in the Premiere timeline?
2) Did I do the right thing importing both the .m2v and .wav files as 'import as Timeline' in Encore CS5? Or I should have imported them as 'Asset'? What I did basically when I started the project is I hit 'import as timeline' and then shift-selected both .m2v and .wav files -> the result was that they both appeared neatly lined-up in the Encore timeline and the playback was smooth.
3) If I fail to fix the above error, is there a way to build a 'play-all' DVD without menus in Premiere using the m2v and wav files I have? This is going to be my contingency plan.

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Does anyone have any ideas that could help us? I am having her download skype to see if thats more successful but this is going to be our primary mode of contact for the next year and I am REALLY worried. We are both using external iSights and we tried audio with and without them plugged in.
Everytime either of us tries anything it gets the the stage where it says "connecting" then gives the error message.

Hi,
Hotels are notoriously difficult for iChat because of the way
1) the ports are not always open
2) the number of people sharing the connection.
For Mail you probably have POP and SMTP server set for one location and the hotel's ISP is not letting you go to those though their server. Web Mail may be the only way around this.
Ask the hotel if they have the ports open for iChat.
You may not be able to do much about the Bandwidth/user issue.
I take it you have done the Quicktime setting as you have posted before.

okay, let's try a careful standalone QT reinstall:
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

I have been using my iPod Video for a couple of months now without any problems, until yesterday. I tried to sync it after I downloaded a couple of new songs when I got this error message: "Attempting to copy to the disk 'Jason's Ipo' failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
The 'Jason' in 'Jason's Ipo' is me.

PSE 10 "help" - error message re Adobe Air

I am unable to access the PSE help within PSE 10. Each time I get an error message indicating that the problem relates to Adobe Air and that I should re-install it (Adobe Air). I have tried re-installing both Adobe Air and PSE10 but the problem persists - any suggestions

I'd do these steps:
Close PSE.
Use Task Manager's "Processes" tab to kill any running Adobe or PhotoshopElements processes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall Adobe AIR.
Reboot.
Get the latest version of AIR from here:
http://get.adobe.com/air/
Install AIR.

Error message on startup, disc stuck in drive!!!

Okay, long story short, my 17" imac flat panel was stolen, but by miracle, the police recovered it and I got it back. However, scumbag opened it up and messed it up pretty good. I got it back together and fired up, and luckily got my data backed up on an external hard drive. But, I went to update the OS and inserted the DVD, and it told me to restart, but when I did, I'm getting some error messages and nothing else. Can't open the drive, can't restart, or even go back to my old OS, nothing. Some of the words say: "panic, cpu 0, unable to find driver for this platform, powermac 4,5, kernel version, etc. etc.
Is there anyway to bypass this startup, and just power-up the drive to eject so I can remove the DVD?? Seems to power-up and work just fine on the older OS, but now it's stuck. And I don't have an Apple keyboard with the eject button on it. Any thoughts?

Hello! Holding down the mouse button at startup will open the drive if it's not mechanically stuck. Tom

Please help--Error message in PSE 7

When I open PSE 7 I'm getting an error message that says:
Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error Program....Adobe Photoshop, etc
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for information.
and a couple times the message just says Adobe Photoshop has stopped working and must close.
When I click "okay" the entire program shuts down.
This started about 10 days ago. I uninstalled the program and re-installed and it worked okay. Now today the message is back again. I've tried unplugging everything, restarting the computer and nothing is working. I am using Windows Vista.

I do not know enough about my computer etc. to
follow the troubleshooting
information that you referenced. But I was able to check my system
information and everything was okay in that area. I've been using
the PSE 7 program for almost a year with no problem until now. Is there some way that I can talk to
a "real live" person to get help. Thank you for taking time to try and help me. I'm just not computer savvy enough to follow the instructions as given.

Bad news: It sounds as if you were sold a jailbroken iPhone.
Good news: File a SNAD with eBay. Make sure all your correspondence has been through eBay Messaging. The fact that the seller has been ignoring you will not sit well with them.
You will get 100% of your money back, including shipping. Paypal will simply seize his funds and return what is yours.
Lesson: Don't buy a used iPhone.
It's much worse for the seller. His PayPal and eBay accounts will be frozen. Until he squares up with both you and eBay, he's out of money and out of business.
