Help!!! Error while installing Oracle9i Application Server on Solaris 5.8
I have installed oracle 9i on sun solaris 5.8. it has the original seed database provided by oracle.
I am doing runinstall from disk1 directory of 9iAS and trying to install Oracle 9iApplication Server 9.0.2.0.0
after this I get a screen with Installation types where option A is selected by default (which installs J2EE, Webcache, HTTP server)when I press next it does setting up install types and displays the following message
" Your local host name database file(typically /etc/hosts) is not configured properly. This file should have and entry of the form:
<IP_ADDRESS><FULLY_QUALIFIED_HOSTNAME><ALIASES>
on solaris systems, the following files should also contain the fully qualified hostname, including the domain name:
/etc/nodename, /etc/net/ticlts/hosts, /etc/net/ticots/hosts,/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts and any files in /etc whose name begin with 'hostname'
Failure to properly configure this file may result in product runtime issues regarding proper hostname resolution."
the /etc/host file has two entries one for loopback and other hostname which are in proper format except there is no alias for loopback.
Am I doing something wrong or was the oracle installation not proper.
I logged in as 'oracle' and changed all files. Next time when i tried to login using oracle acct and tried to open a terminal the screen went black.
How do I install Oracle9iAS.
I am having a similar problem with an Oracle 8i install. It seems that the 9i install
heads off this same problem before running into it. There must be a file it sees
as not being properly updated with the host information. I checked all of the
host* files that I could find and they seem to be correct.
Please let me know when someone answers the question at both addresses

_PaulaHi Paula:
You may want to check if one of your applications has its own users and groups settings. If you define your own Application's users ang groups settings, you may need to uncheck the setting in JDeveloper ADF Security wizard to avoid overwriting the embedded WLS security settings. Otherwise, even you reset your embedded WLS or recreate it, its settings will be overwritten again once you run your application on it.
The way to reset or recreate your embedded WLS is to follow Frank's tips.
Good luck,

Error while accessing the application server file
Hello,
When I try to load the data from CSV file to PSA , I am getting following error message
"Error while accessing the application server file"
"Errors in source system"
I gave the right file path
I am not sure about this error message.
Thanks,Hi ram,
if you have more than one application server running in your BI system (see at transaction SM51) be aware that your infopackage will be executed on the right one. Each application server has its own file system and your job need to run on the server your file is stored on.
Also check if the os user of the SAP system itself (<sid>adm on Unix) has rights to read that file.
Bye

Do you have any application which is deployed your manage server? If you say Yes:
There are three ways:
1)If Sun JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
*** -XX:PermSize and -XX:MaxPermSize should be equal and quarter of -Xmx. (-Xmx should also be equal to -Xms)
If BEA JRockit JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m
2) If you still get that error, increase your real memory of system.
3) For last choice, contact with your developer to tune your application. -
Invalid Key code Error while installing crystal report server 11
While installing crystal report server 11,i am facing an erro which says Invalid Key code Error.I had raised this issue to SAP customer support and attaching the conversation that we had.PLEASE HELP me to resolve the issue.
MAILS--Dear Mohit,
Thanks for the patience.
We have received the below update from the Licensing Team.
You received your permanent key in respect of these licenses - the key is for Crystal Reports Server XI.
You did not purchase these licenses for Crystal Reports Server, but purchased it for Crystal Reports and a 5-named user license for Crystal Reports was included as a special offer. The software included was version XIR2, but you elected to use version XI instead and received key .
You would need to enroll the licenses in maintenance if you want to upgrade them.
In case of any queries please create a ticket via the Service Market Place.

If you need any further information do let me knowAjit,
By design, the product is not able to be installed under the superuser account.
1. Create a new user and specify a home directory for the user without a quota set.
2. Copy or move the installation files to a directory that the new user can read. I suggest you move the installation files directly into the new user's home directory.
3. Logon as the new user (or su - newuser)
4. run the installation shell script using that new user's account.
NOTE: Ensure the system meets the requirements from the supported platforms documents.

Errors while installing Oracle BPEL Server version 10.1.3.1.0
I am new to Oracle middleware. Ofcourse I am not new to middleware altogether.
I am getting wide varieties of errors while installing the software. Everytime a new error is popping up.I have installed/uninstalled the software for almost 10 times and I have started loosing faith on the software and the support There is absolutely no documentation what so ever.
I find this forum may be able to help.
Here are the details:

I have updated the hosts file with the the loop back address.
You mentioned "You need to be able to resolve your machine's FQDN to the IP you allocated the loopback adapter". Is there anything specifc you would like me to try.
BTW I am using oracle lite and I have chosen the option " for developers" while installing the BPEL PM software
The settings you have indicated if I am correct are for fullOracle DB than OracleLite. If it is, cna you post similar settings for Oracle Lite.

11.6.1 No available router to destination Message is Displayed When Attempting to Connect to the Administration Server from WLST
When trying to connect to the WebLogic Server Administration Server from WLST using localhost as the host name, the following message may be displayed if the listen-address attribute of the Administration Server has been restricted to certain IP addresses:
javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is
java.net.ConnectException : <t3://HOST:PORT> : Destination unreachable;
nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused; No
available router to destination
Workaround
Use either of the following workarounds:
Check that the listen-address attribute of the Administration Server has been set correctly in the domain configuration file. You can either remove the listen-address line or simply comment it out. Oracle recommends that you comment it out in case you need to know the value at a later time. For example, in the domain configuration file:
<server>
<name>AdminServer</name>
<ssl>
</ssl>
<machine>machine_name</machine>
<!-- listen-address>machine_ip_address</listen-address -->

i removed listen address in config file..but i am still facing with same error
Edited by: 947453 on Jul 25, 2012 7:09 PMHello,
Were you able to resolve this? I am facing the same issue where my JDev is on a separate machine from the SOA server. Where is the "domain configuration file" located? I am running 11.1.1.6. Within JDev all the other options for the Application Server (Deployments, Servers, Web Services) return results quickly. SOA is throwing the error you mention.
Thank you. -
Error while installing Oracle Applications 11i on Windows XP Home
Hi friends,
I am a functional consultant and trying to install oracle apps 11i on my home pc for learning purpose (I made a fresh install of windows for this purpose). I strictly followed the instructions given in following article:
http://mhabib.wordpress.com/2007/03/14/installing-oracle-applications-e-bussiness-11i-on-windows-xp/
Step1 and Step2 complete successfully to 100%, however just before moving to Step3 it gives error: "RW-50004: Error code received when running external process.". I am attaching last part of the log file. Could someone please help me out, because I have checked everything I could. Thanks for reading this:

Hello,
Can anyone please help me out with this issue. I am trying to export and import an application within the same workspace but with different application ID. I am able to import the application but when I try to install the application its giving me an error saying.

I am not able to figure out what might be the problem. The application is running correctly without any errors.
Can anyone please sort it out.
Thanks,
OrtonThanks Scott. I've also been looking for a pattern of consistency that would point to the cause of the problem but have been unable to find one. I was hoping that others may have experienced the same error and could help to shed some light here.
I dug around some and found that the wwv_flows_alias_idx constraint is a unique index on the alias and security_group_id columns of wwv_flows. My application has an alias that is the same for all installations so I thought that somehow a previously used value for security_group_id was being generated causing the unique constraint violation. Can you tell me how that value is generated during the install process? Is it some sort of hashing function?

Error while installing an application to a workspace
We have received the following error a few times out of 40+ installations:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-00001: unique constraint (FLOWS_010600.WWV_FLOWS_ALIAS_IDX) violated <pre>begin wwv_flow_api.create_flow( p_id =>129, p_display_id=>129, p_owner => 'MERLINDEV', p_name => 'Merlin 5.4', p_alias => 'MERLIN', p_page_view_logging => 'YES', p_default_page_template=> 13755347070366358 + wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset, p_printer_friendly_template
Background: We have developed a application that is used by multiple clients and as such requires that each client have their own version of the application. This is because each application is connected to the client's schema. Each application has the same application alias but is installed in a unique workspace which makes calling and starting the application via a URL easy, i.e.
http://<host>:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=<alias>:&c=<client_workspace>
When installing the application into a workspace for the first time we allow HTML DB to Auto Assign the application ID.
We have received the above error 3 times out of 40+ installations and when it occurs we simply repeat the install and all goes well. I was wondering if anyone has either seen this, knows what causes it and can suggest a remedy or things to watch out for.
