HELP :(  Everytime I sync new songs, everything on my Ipod gets deleted.

Hi Guys,
I just bought an I-Pod Classic. On wednesday, I synced lots of songs onto my ipod (there were about 196 songs) and yesterday I added an album (with 19 songs) and synced it again, I dunno what i did wrong but when i checked my Ipod - there were only 19 songs. All 196 songs I added on wednesday were deleted and replaced by the new album.
and also when i want to get songs from my CDs to the i-tune - is Importing the only option?? coz it was taking for ever to import those 19 songs or is there a faster way of importing them to i-tunes?
Thanks for your help

Did you perhaps delete the original 196 songs from your computer after you synced them to your iPod? If you did that is why they were removed. If you want to delete them from the computer (which is not a good idea) you will need to set your iPod to manually manage your music and drag songs to it when you connect. You will also have to manually eject your iPod.
There is not other way to put music on your iPod, except to perhaps use 3rd party software such as Xplay. How long it takes to import songs from a CD depends on the speed of your CD drive, computer, and hard drive.

  • HT1473 How do I sync new purchased music onto my ipod without deleting/replacing with current library. I recently changed computers and new library doesnt have any of my playlists either.

    Hi All:
I recently got a new computer, authorized new one with itunes and when I go into my library it has none of my playlists that I originally created. Also, I purchased new songs on itunes and as I did in the past, I connected my ipod Nano to automatically sync to get the new music and hopefully all my playlists would go into my itunes library and I received a message asking am I sure I want to delete all my ipod contents and replace with library contents? I canceled and dont want to loose my existing ipod collection as I have more songs on there than my itunes library plus my playlists are all on my ipod.  What I want to do is sync new songs to ipod and sync my playlists from ipod to my itunes library.
    Please help!!
    Thank you so much!
    Michelle

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you purchased all songs in the iTunes Store, plug your iPod to your Mac or PC and iTunes will ask you to transfer purchases.
If you didn't purchase any song or you have non-purchased songs from the iTunes Store, you have to use an application to transfer the songs to iTunes. Here is a list of applications you can use for that > https://discussions.apple.com/message/11319208#11319208

  • How can I sync new songs when 6th generation ipod says syncing is complete but new songs added on itunes are not synced to ipod

my new 6th generation synced fine the first time I added my cd's to itunes.  Thereafter, I added additional cd's which are on itunes but the message I receive is syncing is complete but they do not appear on my ipod.  Only the original cd's are still on the ipod  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just adding albums to iTunes does not mean they will be added automatically to your iPod. You can set it up that way, but it sounds like you do not.
Under the music tab for the ipod, you can select what music, albums, artists and playlists can be sync'd to your ipod.

My old computer crashed and I can't sync new songs from my new computer to my IPod without erasing all of the existing content on the IPod.  Can new songs be added without erasing?

    Yes by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
    - Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
    - After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

  • Syncing new songs under a new library on a new computer

I had itunes on my old computer and synced music from there to my iphone. But then my computer crashed and I got a new one and redownloaded itunes. But now I cant sync new music to my iphone without errasing all of the songs I already have on there. So what do I do?

The best way is to copy all the songs from your iphone back to your iTunes first before syncing new songs on.

  • Can not sync new songs, when I transferred info from computers took identity of old computer and now I have 2 identities on 1 computer

I can not sync new songs on new computer.  When I transferred info from the old computer to the new one it also took the identity from the old computer
so it says I can not do anything because I currently have 2 identities.

If you have successfully transferred your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one, then go ahead and restore the Nano to factory settings in iTunes on your new PC.  This process will deassociate the iPod with the computer and allow it to start syncing with the new one.

  • Is there a way to recover purchased i- tunes that disappeared during an attempt to sync new songs?

I was trying to sync new songs from my pc, it didn't work, plus I lost 1/2 the songs I purchased months ago. How can I recover them?

Make sure you are using the same Apple ID you used to purchase the songs with before.

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album.  These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer.  If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.  To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar.  Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices.

  • Why is it that when I delete a song off my 4th generation I touch it will not allow me to add it again. I manage my music manually (no syncing). I can add a new song, but as soon as I delete it on my I touch, I can't put it back on.

I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Every song I play in Itunes gets deleted out of its album

Hi, I hope someone can help me. Every song I play in Itunes gets deleted out of its album and gets put into a Various Artists album.
What can I do to stop this from happening?
    Thanks in advance

That sounds like the tags have been updated by some other software, perhaps Windows Media Player, then iTunes comes along, reads the tag as you play the track and moves it around according to the new information. The damage is likely already done.

Restore from backup if you have one:
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
