Help - EXIF time and date not working correctly
I am a long time Lightroom user and am trying out Aperture 2.1. I like it a lot but I just found a serious problem. I'm importing some old photos into my Aperture library, by referencing the files in an existing folder. The time and date for some of the files gets messed up. When I view these files in LR the time and date is fine. When I look at the "date created" in the Finder, the time is also messed up. For a photo shoot I did in Europe, the time for some images has the right date & time when converted to US time, but for some images it has the right date & time but as if it were in the US time zone. The files are all Nikon NEFs.
Also, when I view the files in the Aperture import dialog box they are in the right order. But when they get imported and I'm looking at them in Aperture they are in the wrong order.
OK, I give up. Turns out that after one successful import where the dates were ok, subsequent imports have the dates messed up again - whether in Quick or Normal mode. I also tried importing to a new collection, and also tried importing after rebuilding the library (via command-option click in the dock). Still hving this problem.

gem.This same problem has happened again a few times. Tech support says the problem is the cmos battery and I need to send it in to get it fixed. Well, this is my only laptop so I cannot be without it for a few weeks so I can't do that.
This is extremely frustrating because this laptop was purchased less than a year ago. Why is this happening? I had my previous Dell laptop for 6 years and never had an issue like this. This is unacceptable to me. If I could still return it, I would have. -

I have an HP Pavilion 553w that is 7 1/2 years old, running windows xp home edition version 2002 sp3, 2 gbs of ram, AMD athlon(tm)XP 2100+ 1.73 GHZ, bios version/date Phoenix Techologies, LTD AM35308, 10/07/2002 (Phoenix-AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility) SMBIOS 2.3, BIOS Core Version V6.0, BIOS Revision 3.08 10/7/2002.
I know my computer is ancient and I probably should have updated my BIOS, as it is out of date.
Also, after starting up my computer I noticed my time and date is not correct and as of lately have to adjust the time and date to the correct time and date.
I did some research and came across some possible reasons:
1. RTC battery (CMOS battery) may need reseating on motherboard.
2. The battery has become corrupt.
3. BIOS version may be out of date.
My computer is really taking longer than usual to startup and images of icons take longer to display, which may be a sign of the symptoms I listed above.
My computer doesn't have any malware whatsoever, clean as can be.
Any help or advise will be truly appreciated.

There is not need to save CMOS settings unless you changed the default BIOS settings. A bad CMOS battery will not preserve the settings.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Notebook and mouse freezing. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the mouse and Touchpad sensitivities.
If you will go to the section on Adjusting TouchPad or ClickPad pointing sensitivities it should help resolve the issue.

It sounds like you did not purchase it at the Apple store? That doesn't matter - you can still take it to Apple to troubleshoot it.
You can also try to troubleshoot it with the help of the folks here - if you want to do that, let me know and I'll ask that your post be moved to the iPhone forum where you're more likely to get knowledgeable answers, ok. -
"Help" menu in finder is not working correctly
My "Help" menu in the finder menubar is not working correctly. If I type in a query that can't be found, instead of telling that it can't be found, underneath the search field it just displays "Searching..." indefinitely. This is no matter what application I'm in when I access the menu. I have tried the advice in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6389569� and that does not work. Using OS 10.5.1
I'd like to add that when I search, it will find menu commands (highlight relevant menu commands) but not return any actual help results. To clarify, this is when searching directly from the "help" menu bar item. Searching from within the help window seems to work fine.

Automatic "Time and Date" not available in iPhone OS 3.1
I could set "Time and Date" to "Automatic" in 3.0.1. Now this option has dissapeared on my iPhone, I can only set time manually. Anyone else noticed this? Is there any solution? Thank you in advance!

Date and Time and others not working after 10.5.6- its driving me bonkers
Recently, after booting my computer and logging in (I am the sole user and it auto logs in).
Well only 3 things show up in the upper right menu bar:
Spotlight, and two 3rd party items, I added (connect360 and bootchamp)
But airport and Date and Time do not sow up at all. When I go to System preferences I see that things are all screwed up: the box that says "show date and time in menu bar" is always unchecked. If I recheck it will revert the next time I open up the preference pane. Another odd this is it that it lets me click the boxes even when the padlock is locked.
Now, I can log out and then log back in, and it loads everything correctly. But really its stuff like this that drives me bonkers. Anyone have a similar problem or a solution?
I am going to try and disable auto-login and see if it works the first time when I login. If it works it will be better than right now but, it will still irritate me.
Thanks in advanceYou might try moving the apple.com.systempreferences.plist (in the Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences folder) to the desktop and restarting or log-out/log-in.
If it doesn’t help, you can move the .plist file back into the Preferences folder, replacing the new one it created to restore your original settings. -
Time change for daylight savings and Alarms not working correctly
we have 3 iPhones in our house. 2 were set to auto time change for daylight saving and one wasn't. 1 did the auto time change with out an issue and all alarms worked ok. The other 2 have had issues with not been able to set the alarms ie set alarm for 0630 and it goes off at 0530 even though the time is set correctly. The 1 that was set to autotime worked fine until I switch auto time off, now the alarms on this one wont work either. well they work but just at the wrong time. The 3rd phone will allow alarms to be set, but the alarm will go off an hour earlier and this phone will not allow the alarm to be set for 0630 at all.
Has anyone had this issue and resolved it. It makes getting up for shift work a right pain..Read here:

iphone 3gs- updated to the ios 5.0.1... since then i plugged it into itunes, an now my phone restarts itself every 3-4 minutes!!! it so annoying! its useless, i cant do anything with it. restored it 4 times and its still doing it!!! please help!!!
i contacted o2 and they said id have to pay to get it fixed after sending it away for ten days if their was a fault, when im still under warranty!! contacted apple who will get back to me!I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.

Hi, I'm trying to sync my new Ipod to get the new album I got but when I connected it the meesage: The Ipod SYS cannot be used with itunes because it is not formatted properly. appears in itunes. I have restored several times now but it is not working I already downloaded music to it, it is brand new..just 2 weeks old. Somebody can help me? Do I need to return it to the store I bought it from?
The last Restore completed without any error message, or do you get the "ipod SYS" error message?

So, iTunes/Windows thinks another drive is the iPod, and errors out because that drive is not formatted as expected (for an iPod). The solution, in the document linked above, is to change the iPod's assigned drive letter. -
Switched Data Pkg. and data not working.
I upgraded my data package yesterday from 5GB to 4GB with a mobile hotspot and we are shortly into the billing period but my data is still not working. Right when I selected accept to make the switch final, I got a text message that said I had used my data allowance for the month which it previously said 1.2. What do I do?

Do a Soft Reset So you can Get your phone Back to the Main Screen and From there i Wold Do a Factory Reset As one said that even thought the Set Mobile Data Limit is Unchecked it Still can cause the Issue. And i had a Rep that i Know that was using a Razr Maxx had the Issue Here and He Done the F.R. And it Took Care of the issue. So you might Give this a Try And i was just given you a hard time on the Colors it's not that bad once i got use to it. Welcome to the Forum b33
