Help - Fail message during Mavericks upgrade!
Everything was perfectly fine with my MacBook, yes it was old but the hard drive wasn't failing. So I go to update to OS Mavericks, I did a Time Machine backup and then downloaded Mavericks. When I went to install it, it went through a good clip and then failed with this horrible message:

OS X could not be installed on your computer.
The OS X could not be started because the disc Mac Hybrid is damaged and can't be repaired. After your computer restarts, back up your data, erase your disc and try installing again.
Click to restart.
Then, when I did that and chose Restore from backup, it finds the full backup on my Time Capsule, but can't find the hard drive (Mac Hybrid) to install it back on the computer?!
Only notes - 1) I had just done a backup of some data so I had an external drive plugged in, but I've done that before on my iMac and didn't have a problem?
2) the download stopped a couple times while trying to download, when I clicked "Retry" it would resume the download. Could that have messed it up?
Now I can't get back to my old system to do anything. Help!
More information - when I click on Mac Hybrid (my hard drive) and click First Aid, it only gives me Verify Disk. Click that and here are screenshots of screen. Sorry these are all so bad but having to take from my iPhone, obviously can't take on my computer!

Still the automatic update process bothers me: it took me several days to discover the reason to the malfunction, since when I removed the problematic version from Add and Remove Programs, I didn't pay attention at first that it was another version, not v26 which I installed from my folder.
In addition, I like to save the installation files before I run new programs and if I didn't have v26 exe file, I couldn't have operated Mozilla at all. Not that it was fun to remove and install again each time v27 didn't react, but it was better than nothing, I still prefer Mozilla over its competition. -
Encode Failed message during transcode attempts
Hey guys,
I've got a 45 minute video shot at 1920x1080i on a Everio GZ-HD7-B camera that's due for a review in only a couple of days. I've got the project to a near-final draft in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, and have been working on authoring a DVD in Adobe Encore CS4.
Just a quick note, I'm on a home-built PC with an Intel Core 2 Quad at 2.6 ish GHz with 6GB of memory, 2 hard drives with a combined total of 2TB. On the HD that I'm saving my project in and exporting to I have a little over 100GB in space left.
Now, as far as I can tell I've got the menus (imported from .psd files created in Adobe Photoshop CS4) set up correctly and the flowchart is complete, but when I go to transcode the project and export the project to a [widescreen] DVD image, or even if I select the imported (using Adobe Dynamic Link) sequence and hit "Transcode Now..." I get an error message saying "Encode failed". Thie comes up only seconds after hitting transcode. I've tried changing the encode settings, but nothing changes (perhaps with the exception of one setting that delays the 'encode failed' message by about 15 seconds).
If I try to transcode one of my audio tracks I also get the message "Could not create image buffer", and hitting 'ok' only bring up the same error message again.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Can I get Encore to play nice? If I want to bypass using the adobe dynamic link feature and export from Premiere Pro, what settings should I use to preserve image quality, allow me to make the disc, and perhaps even to preserve the chapter locations?

Quick update: I've tried exporting from Premiere Pro using the media encoder into an MPEG-II DVD [Widescreen] format. I then imported the Video and Audio output files as a new timeline in Encore. Transcoding the audio was successful, but when I try to build the DVD image I get the same "Encode Failed" message.
Oh and I don't have internet on my editing computer.
Please help!

Dear Members of the Forum,
Could you please help me solve the following problem?
I output a project in Adobe Media Encoder CS3 in MPEG2-DVD format and ended up with two files: 'movie.m2v' video file and 'movie.wav' audio file. Then I input those two files as 'timeline' in Encore CS5, did the menus, etc. After checking the project for errors none were identified and I went on building the DVD disc. During the building process the following error messages occured:
'PGC "The Movie" has an error at 00;01;24;20.
Internal software error: %0, line The Movie Info: name=The Movie,
ref=Bpgc, time=00;01;24;20'
When I play the movie in Encore no error occurs at the specified above point of time (00;01;24;20) - there is a crossdissolve transition at this point.
Any ideas how to fix this problem or probably help how to interpret the error message?

Before I do so I need to clarify some details:
1) what does it mean to 'have gaps in the Video' that both of you mentioned one should avoid? In my case I have two coherent video.m2v + audio.wav files that were output from Adobe Media Encoder. Both play just fine until I try to output them from Encore. Do you mean gaps between the movie files in the Premiere timeline?
2) Did I do the right thing importing both the .m2v and .wav files as 'import as Timeline' in Encore CS5? Or I should have imported them as 'Asset'? What I did basically when I started the project is I hit 'import as timeline' and then shift-selected both .m2v and .wav files -> the result was that they both appeared neatly lined-up in the Encore timeline and the playback was smooth.
3) If I fail to fix the above error, is there a way to build a 'play-all' DVD without menus in Premiere using the m2v and wav files I have? This is going to be my contingency plan.

Error message during Mavericks install
I downloaded successfully a copy of the Install OS X Mavericks app from the Apple App store to my MacBook Pro. If I try to install Mavericks to my computer, I initially get the message, "preparing to install. Your computer will restart automatically". But instead of restarting, I get the following error message: "This copy of the Install OS X Mavericks application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Delete this copy of the application, and go to the Purchases page of the Mac App Store to download a new copy."
I've deleted and re-downloaded the app 3-4 times and keep getting the same error message. I was able to install Mavericks successfully to my iMac, which is a year older than my MacBook Pro, so I can't figure out what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue?I ran EtreCheck and this is the report it spit out:

HT1926 Error message during iTunes upgrading
I try to upgrade iTunes on my PC to the latest version but in the middle of the installation process a box appears asking: "do you want iTunes to make changes to your computer?". Regardless of what I press, the installation process gets interrupted with the message: "errors occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured". What goes wrong here?
Make sure you are installing iTunes from an account with Administrator privileges. If you can't get it to install then you may need to uninstall all Apple software, reboot, then try again.

I'm getting "Installer disk not found" message during boot camp 5 and windows 8 install on late 20011 MBP upgraded to OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Any ideas?
I've downloaded the Window support option software and the WindowSetupBox.exe and copied it to the USB drive. I tried to create an iso image from my Windows XP machine but recieved messages that Windows 8.1 could not run on XP. I've ordered the Windows 8.1 backup media.
Any way to proceed?

I was trying to upgrade to OSX 10.9 but during the upgrade when the download got to 2.6gb /5.29gb message "an error occurred" appeared and since then i have been un able to upgrade, what can i do.
If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.
