Help file won't come up

Help file just began to say, "unable to find locale data files please reinstall? How do I do this?

Thanks for jumping in Tom. The app is the Alpha version of Trillian. You can find it by typing Trillian in your browser and then click on the "currulean" link next to the mac box in case you aren't familiar. I know it works on mac at least for some because there are discussions about use of the app itself.
I had someone else comment from the trillian end and they suggested checking console for details. There is a log for trillian pointing to not finding a library that is needed. Again since others have used the app, I think it might be my specific equipment.
I'm anxious to see what you find. Please let me know.

Help File Won't Update

I am having a problem in getting an updated help file to show up in the program execution. The help file is <program_help/index.html>, and shows up correctly in both the Resources and Products Groups in XCode. That is, after modifying only some text in the index.html file the modified index.html correctly appears in the XCode editor. The path to the index.html file is (correctly) unchanged in the Groups & Files list. The info.plist also remains unchanged.
After a clean/rebuild, the correct modified <program_help/index.html> is located in the Contents folder of <build/Release/program>. However, when program is launched, either within XCode or in the Finder, the Help file accessed via the Help menu has not been updated, i.e., the older unmodified version of the index.html file is displayed from within the program.
I am obviously missing something - any suggestions will be appreciated.

I agree that it is probably a cached file somewhere. I have not been able to find it, though. I have trashed the ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpui folder and any other files I've found that reference the program in ~/Library - but the wrong help file still keeps turning up.
I've even tried to explicitly modify the com.apple.helpui/TOCCache.plist entry for the program with the pathname to the correct help file, but as soon as I call the help file in the program the TOCCache.plist file entry reverts to the the old version of the help file in an earlier version of the program.
I doubt that any of these exercises should be necessary, though. There must be some setting in XCode that should take care of getting the correct reference for the help file. I've looked and can not find anything at this point.
One step I will eventually take is to remove all possible sources of the old help file and then see what happens.

Help files won't open

I just installed PSE 7 on Windows XP Pro and the help files will not open and I can't connect to online resources through the program. Can anyone help me?

Clicking the help link from PSE7 will ultimatly take you to this link. Just save this help document by clicking the PDF save option on the top left of the browser. You can access everything in the PDF even offline. There is no difference between the PDF file and the online help files.

Help Files Won't Load In Web Broswer

We recently moved our web site and I moved over all of our
help files. Whenever I try to view these files through Internet
Explorer, the opening page seems to just keep trying to load (like
an endless loop). I am 90% sure that it has to do with a setting in
IIS because of the following:
1. I can view the files just fine if I view them in Windows
Explorer.
2. I tried creating a "test" group of Help files and they
work fine on another web server that I have, but don't work on this
particular one.
I am wondering if anyone has any insight on this? I am
running a Virtual Private Server with Win2003, IIS 6. If you want

OK - Since no one else is responding on the forum to this, I
have an update -- I found out that if I remove these lines from the
opening page it will load my help files, but it doesn't show the

Event titles remain, but why did the individual photo titles change into numbers after an upgrade to iPhoto 11?
Why does clicking the iPhoto Help button pop open a new window and promptly invoke the beach ball of death which remains even with iPhoto closed but stops when the App Store app is closed?

When you installed iPhoto 11 did you create a new library and import your old library into it? If so that was not the way to upgrade the library. The correct way is to just open your old library with the new iPhoto application and let the application upgrade the library.
If efforts to repair the corrupted library fail you may have to start over with a new library as follows:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.

3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Origianls (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
The Help file issue might be corrected by running BatChmod on the iPhoto application with the settings shown in this screenshot.

Need help macbook won't come out of sleep mode

Please help I have had my macbook since may of 2006 and this is my first real problem with it.
I basically been loading videos to watch and then downloading some of the videos,once the process had been started I would leave to allow the videos to load/download but when I come back I find the macbook in a state of sleep and the only way that I can think of to getit out of this is to shut it down and reboot.
This is my first mac and up until now I was quite impressed so please help to not soil the good Apple name.

I'm a newbie so I might not answer your question, but if you leave the macbook open and it goes to sleep, then you just have to press the power button and it should turn back on. I always thought though that if you let it sleep, then you won't be able to download anything because the computer disconnects from the internet during sleep. Am I right? Lol, now I'm asking the questions.

How to Install Help FIles in Encore 2.0?

Have Encore 2.0 on Win Xp Pro
I just installed Encore 2.0
The help files did not transfer over. I get the Adobe on-line help it seems but I need the html help files that usually come with the F1 key.
They are on the original 2.0 DVD install disk but I dont want to go there everytime I have a help question.
Should I copy the DVD help files to somewhere on my hard drive

1. Copy the PlainHTMLFile and the HTMLHelpFile from the Help cd to a windows servers
2. Goto transaction SR13
For BEX Analyser Help
1. To install the BEX help files, click on the PlainHTMLFile tab
2. In the Platform Filed enter NONE
3. In the Area Field enter IWBHELP (or you can select documentation from the drop down)
4.In the PATH field enter the path of the PlainHTMLFiles that you copied to your server (i.e C:\Help\PlainHTML\BEXHELP\helpdata)
5. In the Language field, enter EN
6. Click on DEFAULT check box.
7. Save your changes
For Abap stack Help
1. To install the Abap help files, click on the HTMLHelpFile tab
2. In the Platform Filed enter WIN32

HELP! Files won't open and previously had Firefox icon instead of DW icons! Leap Year thing?

Hi! I went to update my website, which I do every night before the first day of every month and all the files had a FIrefox icon instead of the usual Dreamweaver one. I have shut down, reinstalled DW MX 2004 but the files still do not open. The icons have now changed to DW but they are not opening with right click, opening from Applications folder, double clicking the file, from get info and open with DW. I am stumped. HELP! Need to update for March 1st.
Is it something to do with Leap Year 29th Feb? Checked the clock in preferences but can't see how this affects it.
Firefox is always updated but the latest version does not seem to be as efficient as previous upgrades. We installed Chrome as well. Do they interfere with each other?

I wish the 7.1 updater download had helped but it didn¹t. All the files
were backed up before the installation, which went fine.

We recently started using Chrome, so now have 3 browsers in the dock,
Safari, Firefox and Chrome. Do they interfere in any way with each other?

I am not late with updating the site, which is about New Zealand culture,
month by month (www.englishteacher.co.nz). Probably only the third time I
have been late since 2005. Not a huge amount of traffic, ~300 a month and
free access to content but I would like to solve this problem.
Could a reciprocal link have caused a problem?

Nope. I do the same exact thing. If you have DVD's and blu-rays you can't download a free application called Handbrake. You can set it to Apple TV2 automatic format and they will come out as playable m4v's that can play I'm iTunes. All you have to do is turn on Home Sharing in both iTunes and your Apple RV and you'll be good to go!

IMAP cox trying to setup new email addresses....connection doctor shows mail checked and 'light' is green but mail will not display until restarting. Okay, I solved the problem... FINALLY!!! Added "pop" to my email address when re-setting up account in Mail. This allowed me to set it up as a pop account and all works well!! Problem "Solved"!!

HT1423 the memory-access door won't come off, HELP!

I have a mid-2007 iMac with 1 GB of ram and i'm trying to replace it, but the memory-access door won't come off. i loosen the screw with a screw driver but it won't open and i don't know why. i want to upgrade to 4 GB.
is there some trick to opening it thats not stated in this article? please help me, i don't know what to do :-( i really need to get lion on this thing and can't do that without a RAM update.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Before you reinstall the Apple software, also remove iCloud vi Control Panel Remove programs. The reinstall the Apple programs

If it keeps coming up with an unknown error - no error code given - try another computer. If that doesn't work, it's time to take it to an Apple Store or an authorized service center to have the device evaluated.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Just upgraded my iPad Mini software and now it is stuck in a reboot and won't come on. Please help!

I just noticed that a software update was available. I think it was iOS7. Did not really take note of what it was. But now my iPad Mini won't come on. it is stuck in a reboot and has been that way for at least an hour. Just tried to attach a picture of the screen without success.
If it was a phone, I'd have taken out the battery and just reinserted it but I can't do that with the iPad.
What can I do??? Please help!!!

Much better to update your iPad's software while it's connected to a wall outlet via the cable and adapter that came with it. Do not update on battery power alone.
