Help! Files will send with zero bytes!

I have been trying to send files (pdf mostly) through a dropbox server. Every time I try to, they send with zero bytes. Why is this? I have no idea on how to fix it!

Hi,
What do you have in the console log?
Please, try with 1.1.

  • Deployed EJB.jar has some classes with zero bytes

Has anyone hit a situation where Windows Jdev 902 puts class files into the ....EJB.jar file with zero bytes? In my case, the eight zero length classes are: seven My...Row.class files and the MyApplicationModule.class file. They all are in the /mypackage/common/ package and are in the ...classes/mypackage/common/ file folder.
I can use PKZIP to delete the zero length classes and add them back into the .jar and everything works as expected.
There are no error messages generated during the deployment that creates the .jar file that has the problem.

This was posted on another thread by jdev team...
We have been following this issue in support TAR 2274825.996. I sent some technical detail to the support rep on July 10, but it looks like that information never got added to the TAR. Well, FWIW, here it is:
The user may be running out of open files. The
stdio library which underlies Win32 programs (like the JVM) has a
limit on the number of files that can be open concurrently. The
limit is around 2000-2100 open files (I tested this on NT, 2000, and
XP), and the limit is on a per-process basis. If the user is running
into this limit because JDev has too many open files, then the utility
methods we use to open JAR files or other streams could be receiving
a java.io.FileNotFoundException exception with the message "Too many
open files". To verify this: go to the Windows Task Manager, go to
View | Select Columns... and be sure the "Handle Count" checkbox is
checked. Does the jdev.exe process have a disproportionately higher
number of handles than other processes? If the Handle Count is above
2000 (approx), JDev might be running out of open files. (I say "might" because
the Handle Count is for many different kinds of Win32 kernel objects,
not just for file handles.) If the Handle Count is the problem, then
it would explain the transient, nondeterministic behavior that the
user is reporting. Because the Handle limit is per-process, it would
explain why the user is able to use PKZIP or WinZip to repair the JAR
file. Try closing editors before deploying and see if that helps.
If the user confirms that the Handle Count is excessive, then we may
have a Handle leak of some kind in the product that will need to be
    fixed.
Also try running JDev using "jdev -hotspot" on the command line instead
of just "jdev" and see if the behavior changes.
Hope that helps. We are monitoring the TAR, but no one has been able to reproduce the problem you are reporting, even with the files attached to the TAR, and yours is the only report so far that we've received about this specific problem.
I have added several more entities and views into app module. As I added each one, the list of zero byte jar classes would change, but always about 7-8 bad ones. Now that I am no longer adding new entities/views, the problem has become stable and repeatable. The same classes ALWAYS show up with zero bytes.
I monitored jdevw.exe while doing the deploy, and the number of handles never went above 675. I ran with jdevw.exe -hotspot and the results were exactly the same.
    thanks,
    Roger

  • Over local network file copying stays at Zero Bytes...

I am not sure what section to put this under or what is causing the problem.  It seems I cant access files over my home network any more.
My wife has a 2.4 c2d Macbook running 10.7.2, I have a 2.4 c2d iMac running 10.7.2, and we use an AirPort Extreme base station.
She has a user set up on my computer so she can connect over the network.  File sharing and Print sharing are enabled.  She has been added to the external drive with the files on it as a read only user.  Everything has worked well until very recently.
First Playback, the program I use for uPnP streaming to my xbox, ceases to function.  To the best I can find, that is due to a change in how the xbox requests files since a recent update.  Not an apple problem but it did spur me to use a more direct approach: Plug the laptop to the television and open the file via my wife's macbook.  After connecting to my imac over the local wireless network and browsing to the file, I first attempted to directly open the video.  This method has worked well in the past.  I took about 5 minutes before quicktime launched.  Quicktime did report the run time of the video but failed to ever display any frames and effectively froze.  I shut down the macbook, rebooted.  This time after browsing to the file I attempted to copy it over the network to her computer.  This resulted in finder making it so far as to actually say Copying the file but the progress remained at Zero Bytes and the progress bar never resized.  After 10 minutes like this, I canceled that transfer and waited until that process closed.  I chose another file that had a thumbnail instead of the quicktime icon in hopes of better compatability.  The quick look preview began to spiral and I got the rainbow wheel as a cursor.  I never got the oportunity to begin to attempt the new file.  I had to reboot the macbook again to stop that process.
Placing the original file on a usb stick and then again on her computer has allowed me to open the file on both machines.
When I first switched from windows, fixing these types of issues often confused me as I looked for the complex windowsesque settings and options.  I often miss the simple and obvious way to fix most mac problems.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Help File not displaying with in SAP

    Hi
Im trying to get the help file to work in SAP.
i Have looked at where SAP is fetching the file and i have placed it there.
But when i go into SAP and press F1 i get an error message ...
"Navigation to the webpage was canceled
       What you can try:
         Retype the address. "
Can anyone please help me with this one as to why it is not working?
    Thanks

    Dear Jonathan,
Could you please try the following steps :-
o Change the Help Settings from 'Shared Folder' to 'Local
Installation' under Help => Help Settings.
o Business One will then look for the Help folder on the local B1
Client and not on the B1 Server.
o This will only work if the B1 Client has the Help folder locally
    installed.
o If not this could be manually copied from SBO_SHR directory to
    the client.
o Alternatively all the B1 Clients will need to be reinstalled.

  • Need Help for  SOAP sender with HTTPS protocol

    Hi Team
We have a scenario where the sender is a 3P system and they will be sending the message using web service. They will send the data using SSL ( HTTPS) using certificates.
In the sender soap adapter , I have two options
    1. HTTPS with client Authorization
    2. HTTPS without client Authorization
I think I need to use the first option. But I have doubt regarding certificates
    1. Who is going to provide the certificate? is it PI Team or the third party team.
    2. Once we have the certificate where we need to store it in NWA? is it in the TrustedCA keystore view or service_ssl keystore view.

    Hi Indrajit,
Krupa already shared a valuable resource on how to set up on Double Stack PI, so I'll focus on what's left to deal with / open questions.

    2. HTTPS without client Authorization
I think I need to use the first option. But I have doubt regarding certificates
    1. HTTPS with client authorization means that the 3rd party would not give username / password to authenticate to your PI but present a certificate you are trusting. You can think of this as an admission ticket to communicate with your PI server
    2. HTTPS without client authorization means they will authenticate with username password.
In both cases the caller (3rd party) would need to trust your PI server. Most commonly this trust is established by not trusting your PI server's explicit certificate but in trusting the CA that issued your PI server's certificate. This CA can very well be a company internal CA. That way, if you happen to need changing the hostname of the server some time in the future, trust situation is still valid.
In case of 1. (HTTPS with client authorization) your PI server in turn would also need to trust the 3rd party caller. This is often done in such ways that the interal CA on your side issues a client certificate with the CN of the caller. The caller presents this certificate to your server upon making a call (see here for a picture https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw74/helpdata/en/43/dc1fa58048070ee10000000a422035/content.htm). You will also need to back up this process on your PI server by mapping the certificate to a specific user.
--> Option 2 is the more polished one with ability to withdraw a certificate and the like. However it does result in some overhead setting it up so I personally would go with Option 1 if there's no business need / security policy enforcing so.

    If I give File [] filenames =
dir.listFiles();an error is thrown for the line
    out.putNextEntry(new
    ZipEntry(filenames)); as
    cannot find symbol
    symbol: constructor ZipEntry(java.io.File)
    location: class java.util.zip.ZipEntry
There's no constructor that accepts a File as argument. There's only this
    ZipEntry(String name)
Creates a new zip entry with the specified name.
    ZipEntry(ZipEntry e)
Creates a new zip entry with fields taken from the specified zip entry.

  • File with Zero Bytes

I have a file in a folder in my Users directory which, when I get info, indicates that it has Zero KB. It is a jpeg file but it appears that it is unreadable and when I try to delete it I get a message that it is in use by OSX (Leopard) and cannot be deleted. I believe the problem may have started when I was using the jpeg as wallpaper but may have deleted it (or attempted to do so) while it was still in use. Not sure though. Is there any way to delete it?

When you're on the Finder, click the Finder pull down menu and click on "Secure Empty Trash" and it should do it.
    Good luck.

  • Polling by file adapter (sender) with FIFO functionality

    Hi,
    here are one question:
What happen if, for example, the sender system generates multiple files with the same timestamp (HH:MM:SS), or the file adapter on XI is stopped for a moment, and then, when activated, in the source directory (polling directory) there are many files? How can XI handle the correct sequence of messages? Is this impossible. How XI poll on a file (sender) - what is the logic? The files should be polled by FIFO.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Frank

    Hi,
There is a logic called EOIO. Its exactly once in Order (EOIO). It takes care of all these iisues. Also XI gurantees the delivery of files.

  • Polling File Adapter (Sender) with nfs

    Hello,
please anybody knows how to configure kommunication channel like connection data to server...
    Thanks in advance
    Frank

    Poll Interval (secs)
Number of seconds that the adapter must wait if no files are found for processing.
    Poll Interval (msecs)
    Additional waiting time in milliseconds.
If you set Poll Interval (secs) to null, processing times will be short and close to real time.
If you set Poll Interval (secs) and Poll Interval (msecs) to null, the adapter is only called once.
    Retry Interval (secs)
Specify the number of seconds that the adapter is to wait before a file processed with errors is processed again.
If the value is set to null, then the adapter is canceled if an error occurs, even if a value greater than null is specified for Poll Interval (secs).
If you do not enter a value, the value from Poll Interval (secs) is used.
