Help!! FILTERS.CFG empty

Hello,
NW65sp5/BM38SP4
Reconfigured filters thru FILTCFG to change to new public interface. Had
trouble with SMTP, added/deleted several filters, unsuccessfully.
Switched to Mail Proxy with a single filter per TID10020917.
Server abended (EIP in FILTSRV.NLM) after adding the last filter. Rebooted.
When server came up, all filtering disabled, FILTERS.CFG was empty, all
filters in eDir still.
Per earlier post by CJ, tried loading and unloading filtcfg, server
abended (same abend). Tried filtsrv_backup_filters file, soft-abended
again, output file was zero byte.
Any suggestions?

After rebooting FILTSRV_BACKUP_FILTERS worked, but didn't back up any of
the filters in NBMRules container. FILTERS.CFG still empty.

Search help PREM is empty

We just upgraded to SAP ECC 6.0 and we are no longer able to do mathcode lookups on employees names. i.e., PA20 and then in the Personnel No field when we enter =n.smith we get the message "No input help available (search help PREM is empty). PA20 was just one example and it happens on all of our screens.
I can see PREM in se12 search helps and it calls the HRMC_PREM_EXIT_A function module which calls the HRMC_PREM_EXIT. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be and what I can do to fix it? thx in advance for any help you can provide.

The OSS Notes you provided were not my problem in the end. I have resolved my own problem and here are some of the details. I certainly appreciate your response though.
In Previous versions of SAP (pre 6.0), we modified PREM to add our own search helps in PREM - Z_PREMK02 and Z_PREMN02. In going to 6.0 these additional Z search helps did not exist in PREM and consequently the PREM search help was not functioning Properly. It came up with an error u201CNo input help available (search help PREM is empty).u201D
To Resolve this issue I created a new APPEND Search Help ZPREM by doing the following steps:
- Go into se12
- Put in PREM for the Search help and click on Display
- Click on Goto -> Append Search Help and at the prompt type in ZPREM as the Appended Search Help Name
- Definition Screen should autopopulate
- In the Search helps for ZPREM add the two Z Searchps above + the PREMN one
- Do Parameter Assignments for the 2 Z* ones of PERNR
- Once you have done all of the above go into both the Z_PREMK02 and the Z_PREMN02 and change the Search help exit to HRMC_PREM_EXIT_A

Filters.cfg - enough info to rebuild my filters from scratch?

I have the luxury of 2 BM servers. On the one, I want to completely delete
all the filters and rebuild from scratch - lots of unneeded, old stuff in
there, and I want to simply put in what I _know_ is needed and wait to get
asked for the rest.
To that end, I copied filters.cfg to my home dir and have been looking over
a printed copy. It seems that everything I need is in there - is there
anything else I should preserve before doing this?
I'm probably also going to replace the NIC for the public side, so I thought
I might swap the NIC, put things right in INETCFG, then go about rebuilding
the filters.

Thanks, Craig. It turns out (as discussed on a thread of mine in the
nw65 abends forum) that my B57.LAN is pretty old, and it was current
through NW65SP5UPD1, but SP6 has a newer one, so I'm going to try that
and see if it can let me avoid replacing the NIC. But I really want to
tear down and redo the filters, so I will take your suggestion and just
copy SYS:\ETC before messing with anything. At some point in the past,
I tried a newer B57 than the one I'm now using and it was worse, not
better, but I'm trying to be an optomist here. :)
No static NAT currently in use, although we have filters in place to
support it on one or two w/s so that adding the NAT means doing just
that and nothing else. The powers that be have decided that any public
IPs that can be avoided should be avoided, so everyone use the VPN
client or they don't get in, save those of us who remote into a BM
server's public IP. I confess I agree with this to the extent that not
having a windows machine on a public IP makes me rest easier.

Filters.cfg screwed up, eDirectory filters look ok

Through of sequence of lovely Friday events, my filters.cfg got trashed. Luckily after rebooting the BM 3.8 sp5 NW 6.5 sp8 eDirec 8.7.3.10 box, the filters.cfg seemed to get populated w/ the contents of what was in eDirectory.
About ready to wrap up the day, I decided to go out to sys:\etc and make a backup of the filters.cfg file since I had done a few little tune-ups while I was in there earlier. To my horror, filters.cfg is now 4.5G large!!
I renamed it to filters.cfg.old. when I looked at the file it starts out OK, but quickly turns into probably 4.499 G of the phrase FreeFreeFreeFreeFree.
I'm hoping eDirectory will flush a good copy of it's filters to a brand new filters.cfg file.
QUESTION: is that true and is there a way I can make that happen?

I need help trying to empty my trash bin

I was trying to move a file from a networked computer to an external harddrive which was plugged into my imac usb. Midway through the tranfer I lost connection to the networked computer so a portion of the file had been transfered but not the whole thing.
The file name had a grey color font instead of the usual black font.
So I decided to delete it and start the transfer again. So it's sitting in the bin. I tried a secure empty but that didn't work. Instead I got this message, "The operation can't be completed because a required item is in use."
Any help of advice?

I realized this file has zero bytes. Also the transfer was being made from a pc to an external harddrive connected to the mac.
Still getting the same message the file is in use....
I tried using command sudo rm -rf in terminal and got this message:
rm: illegal option -- /

Help with an empty row....

Updating the table I created an empty row but it can't be
delete. I created a delete link is working with values in the row
but not with an empty row. Any help???

Help!! Empty iPhoto Library!!!

Earlier I was using iPhoto, which I run through an external hard drive, when the drive was accidentally detached from the computer. When I plugged it back in and reopened iPhoto, my library was empty. This is the second time I've had this happen. The first time I looked in my pictures folder and saw that all of the files were there, then simply searched until I found the old library and opened that. All of my photos and albums had been restored.
However, this time, none of my photo files appear to be in any accessible folder, and running searches for .jpg files turns up nothing. I've tried other traditional fixes, such as restoring the library and none have worked. These photos are of critical importance, encompassing 4 years and around 7,000 files.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I really would appreciate the help.

Help - iWeb is empty!

So I just opened up my iWeb and the entire application is empty. I have three sites published through iWeb, and I can still find the Site folders with what look like all of the relevant information. Problem is, I can't bring any of it up in iWeb! Do I need to rebuild all of the sites from scratch, or is there a way to upload these files back into iWeb? I'm honestly not all that concerned with the "why" at the moment - I just want to know if I can avoid all this rebuilding!
FYI - The files are located in my HD/Site folder (each site I published has its own folder), and I have been synching it all to iDisk, so there is a copy on my iDisk as well.

Ok, I found something called Domain in my
HardDrive/users/"my mac name"/Libray/Application
Support/iWeb - it says that it's a
"BLDocumentTypeNativeDomain" file, and it's 12KB.
When I double click on it iWeb opens, but it only
asks me to choose a template, and then nothing
happens.
I copied the file to my Hard
Drive/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (the
folder didn't exist - I created one), and still
nothing.
ANYONE? help!

Under "normal" circumstances, the domain file belongs in username/library/Application Support/iWeb location. I don't think that iWeb will be able to find it in the hard drive ("root") library folder.
But, the fact that it was only 12 kb means that your "original" domain file with all your site information has gone missing. Does searching for "domain" find any other domain files on your computer? Have you reinstalled iWeb lately? Can you think of any other reason why the domain file would have disappeared?
Have you backed up your home folder at all? If so, you might be able to find a copy of the domain file there.

HT5413 Help filtering internet access

Greetings all, and a Merry Christmas!
We're a small monastery. And due to this, we need to implement some Internet filtering. Unfortunately, it's not the basic kind of filtering. Frankly, I'm not sure that all of what we're looking to do can be done. But I'm at a loss about where I can look for this information.
At the moment, we've got a basic network, that you'd find a family home: DSL modem-router, a bunch of Ethernet hubs, and a whole bunch of cables.
The computers are mainly running Fedora Linux. There are 3 windows statioins, and 2 OS X stations.
The perfect solution is to be able to have 1 network, where there are 2 or 3 rooms where the Internet is accessible. And, those who have laptops, that they can bring their laptop to these rooms, and have Internet access, but NOT have access while connected to the network in other places. (Complicated, I know).
If that's not possible, ok. (Frankly, I don't think it is, but am very open to suggestions).
What really do need is to be able to allow an Internet connection, restrict bascially all web-surfing, while allowing e-mail, skype, and updates. The updates are my biggest problem. We already have a rule established on the modem-router that blocks surfing activity at night, but still allows e-mail and skype. Yet, this rule also blocks the apple AppStore updates.
So, I'm wondering if we get OSX server, would this help the situation? Where can I get more info about OSX server's filtering capabilities?
If we can't establish all the blocking that we need, then it'd be great if we could have some type of report of each person's activity.

IMO, OS X Server won't be a good solution as a network filter. It might be useful here, but it very likely won't be your most appropriate choice as a network-gateway-router system.
FWIW, I'd suggest pursuing this in a Fedora-focused networking forum, in general. This given that's your most common platform.
Assuming wired networks, you can divide up the access via managed switches and a VLAN, or via physical network segmentation. WiFi is somewhat harder to segment, short of having a guest network and a private network; you'd need access points (APs) with two networks configured, one of which allows a little more access, and the other that's presumably restricted to the local IP address space.
There are gateway routers around which allow several different segments to be maintained, but they're generally starting in the ~US$250 range and upwards, and usually expect a little more knowledge of IP networking and related topics than the residential routers that are in common use.
Here is Apple's network port list.
As for the updates, OS X Server can cache those, as can the Reposado tool on a Fedora system.
A common solution involves a web proxy filter, where all connections must pass through that device. The connections used for the OS X Server or Reposado server itself to download updates would need to be programmed to allow access, but the other local OS X clients could be aimed at the local server. In your case, your filter can block all outbound connections to TCP 80 and TCP 443 entirely, save for the specified servers loading updates from their respective upstream sources.
Email is fairly easy, as you'll probably want to block outbound TCP 25, but allow POP via SSL and IMAP via SSL and allow the submission ports (TCP 486 and TCP 587).
Now for the somewhat bad news: these general approaches can often be bypassed using VPNs and tunnels, so somebody that's knowledgeable can generally get around simple-minded network filters. Which means you can end up blocking more than a little outbound traffic; more than TCP 80 and TCP 443.
Now for somewhat more bad news: Skype uses TCP 80 and TCP 443 (or requires a whole lot of open ports), and specifically to work around filters and blocks and firewalls and related "defenses". Whether you can get that to work by excepting the supernodes, I don't know.
I'd probably sort out what you do and do not want to allow access to as a more general problem, as getting an update server into a DMZ with exceptions enabled is a comparatively small problem — once you achieve the sorts of network blockages you're seeking. None of this stuff is particularly specific to OS X or OS X Server, either.
This configuration will probably involve installing a network gateway with internal filtering capabilities and a network nanny implementation, as well as some work on the internal network configuration. That may well be possible with Fedora, DD-WRT, Tomato or some other similar open source (it's likely best to ask for discussions and tradeoffs of those options elsewhere), and can be implemented with a commercial offering. Your needs here are probably even a little simpler in some ways, as you want and need just a few web connections.

Help - Filtering Input

I'm new here and need help desperately.
I'm working on GUI and trying to filter user's input using data on current list.
Basically it's a rank list, so no same rank should be the same. The inputs are in integer (1,2,3,...). If the rank already being inputted before, then the input should be declared invalid, else input accepted and the list updated.
How should i tackle this problem?

Need help filtering spam using Mail Rules

Hello
My me.com address is on a **** spam email circulation list. Most of the emails come from .RU or .UA and every email address is different. I receive up to 3 a day.
I have tried Mail rules to filter this, but for some reason it is not working. I have tried filtering the individual email address and all .RU addresses, but the Mail filter just doesn't apply the rule.
I normally use Aliases for any only registration - so I am not sure how my real me.com account name was found. I have also tried VIW/MESSAGE/RAW SOURCE (see results below). I have replaced my me.com email address with "[email protected]".
This spam is driving me nuts, so any help would be appreciated.

I am having exactly the same problem with mail not applying the rules. I have a rule set that if any mail is considered junk mail, to redirect it to [email protected] and to move it to the trash folder. I click "apply rules" on my junk mail, nothing happens. New spam comes in that it marks as Junk, nothing happens. I mark an email as junk, nothing happens.
After over a year of problem after problem with my mac, I have almost lost faith. Can someone please help us?? Is anyone out there??

ITunes 7.7.1 help window is empty.

Hi,
I've downloaded and installed iTunes 7.7.1 and am up and running. Works fine.
The glitch is that clicking the help menu brings up an empty help window, for some reason the text in help window doesn't show up. I reinstalled but still the same problem.
Can I download separately the 7.7.1 manual or help text? If so, I can't locate it.
I have basic questions on selecting manual and automatic operation. When my iPod is connected, the program just takes off on its own and starts reviewing every song in the library. It is very difficult to stop.

Plzzz help: formsweb.cfg testmode false

I have installed Oracle Developer Suite on a Windows XP SP3 pc. When I run the form, Internet Explorer gives me a message:
Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close.
I run the OC4J before running the form. And I am sure that the Net manager configuration is correct. The OC4J gives me the following line:
ConfigFileName: C:\DevSuiteHome_1/forms/server/formsweb.cfg
testmode: false
I have tried many things like: Disable some add ons like google, ..etc and leave java only.
Please, tell me what is the cause of such problem. Thank you.

the problem is, when I run the form, Internet Explorer gives me the message: "Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close".
I installed Jinitiator 1.3.1.28 and it didn't work. Removing IE7 and use IE6 solved the problem on another PC. but on these punch of PCs, I could not remove IE as IE7 can't be removed if it installed with XP SP3 unless you remove SP3 (in my case, SP3 installed within the Windows and not as a separate package that I can remove)

MDX query Help - filtering Measures based on values in a dimension.

I want to get values of a aggregate measure filtered by value available in Dimension attribute.
Details:
We have a Measure called "Average Compliance" which provides an average value over certain dimensions. Now I have some target values available for different attributes.

Help...empty lines in code Dreamweaver CS3

Wow, why are all adobe applications so messed up? No friend of mine to be sure but have to use this application because my company says so...
How can I remove empty lines of code from my pages? It's just endless P paragraph signs...I usually fix the bugs in adobe's wysiwyg via hand coding so the empty lines are really irritating to me. I miss macromedia's version of Dreamweaver
BTW...the servers are not the issue as far as I can see. And I've already tried to do the find and replace fix...just freezes the application.
Any fix for this bug would be greatly appreciated!

Have you taken the time to learn to use Adobe apps correctly and understand how they work? In general, they're very well written and very powerful when used with skill and care.
Plenty of professionals and hobbyists around the world use them daily without seeing the issues you're seeing.
Endless p tags are there because you put them there: either via Code View or repeatedly pressing Enter for no reason in Design View.
