Help finding deleted emails
I am a new user to Mail 5.
I had imported all of my mail boxes and emails from Entourage -- several years worth.
Subsequent to that I have switched ISPs which required some adjustments to how email accounts were accessed.
I had continuing problems with one account that would not log on and download emails. The only solution was to delete the email account completely and install it new. The new account works.
However, all of those old emails from that account were deleted.
Can anyone suggest a way to retreive those old emails?
I have time machine installed, so in theory, those old emails could be accessed if I knw how.
What I don't want to do is to reinstate the earlier version of Mail itself since the new settings work and I have also received emails my all my accounts (12) which would be overwriten by such a global change.
What I am seeking to do is to meld the old emails into the new account so all are accessable now.
Any suggestions?

Help finding deleting Photostream photos!!
A few weeks ago I manually deleted most of my Photostream on my iPhone 5S from the late spring/summer so I could make room on my phone for ios8...I thought a copy of the photos in my Photostream would be saved in the cloud. Big mistake. That's not how Photostream works I guess. My photos were permanently deleted from my Photostream everywhere. I have since had to completely restore my phone due to the problems with the 8.01 ios update. Is it possible to go back and find deleted photos from the past?
Note: In my iphoto on my macbook, I used to have a folder for each month of photostream photos (like June 2014 Photosteam, etc.) that automatically synced. Now, because I deleted my Photostream photos, they are no longer there. At some point in time these photos WERE on my camera roll but I deleted them as well because I thought they were in the photo stream...
Anyway, I am clearly confused and want to get my photos back! HELP!!! Please!!!!Once you delete, and delete from PhotoStream without saving to a non-PhotoStream album, the photos are gone and not recoverable. Before deleting from PhotoStream, or at least monthly for that matter, it best to save everything to a separate album or folder. That protects the content as PhotoStream is volatile storage and will be subject not only to your deleting but also iCloud delete-by-rules based on quantity and age of the contents.
Not great news for you but there just isn't anything to do when deletion has been done across the board. -

You should never try to sync your phone with more than one computer or you will lose your data. The pictures were not deleted because the sync process does not touch Camera Roll pictures (it only includes them during the backup step of the sync process).
If you had these voice memos on your phone when you last synced it to your first computer, and if you haven't synced to this computer since then, you could restore from the backup created during your last sync. This will replace the data on your phone with the data from this older backup so anything new will be lost. If you think that is the case, do not sync your phone again to the first computer prior to restoring from this backup or you will overwrite it and the backup will be lost. Instead, prior to connecting your phone to your first computer, open iTunes and disable automatic syncing by going to iTunes Preferences and on the Devices tab checking "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on its name and select Restore From Backup and choose your last backup (containing your voice memos).
If you didn't have these voice memos on your phone when you last synced to your first computer, or if you have synced again to your first computer since losing your data, then your voice memos and other data are lost. -

The only way to remove this data is to restore your phone as a "new" device and re-sync your itunes content. All saved data on the phone will be lost. You have to decide it its worth going through all of that or just living with it. -
how do i remove emails completly from my account
In mail, highlight the mailbox you deleted the messages from, then on the menu bar click mailbox then rebuild. That will usually get rid of deleted messages that won't delete.

Deleted mail account - where to find deleted emails
Hi there
I have done the same stupid mistake others have done and accidentally deleted my mail account. I was trying to delete my gmail account in mail but selected my primary home email account instead.(I blame the computer) Thing is, it seems a 'partial' delete, in that this morning I still receive my incoming emails, ie the account settings are still there. Also all my sent emails, and trash from that account are still there. But as for the incoming emails for the past 5 years - nothing. And in library/mail there is no record of this account folder. Where does the deleted stuff go, if it doesn't go in the trash, and why did my deleted account action not wipe all the emails, incoming and outgoing, and not the account setup details in mail preferences? I am just curious because there is a small part of me that hopes somehow i can retrieve the emails from within the computer without having to pay for a data rescue program. (there would only be about 20 or so emails that we've need to keep for work purposes)hi!
I have a question -- if I delete my mailbox in mail (one of them) -- which is my gmail personal account -- will it delete everything off Mail AND my gmail or just Mail Application? So hypothetically, if I delete the gmail account in Mac Mail and when I sign in that same email on gmail.com -- all my mail will still be there ?
I want to just have my work email on Mac Mail and I dont want my personal email on Mac Mail as well.

You can find the sync password and the sync key in the password manager on the computer where you originally created that sync account (email).<br />
*Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
Look for:
* chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
* chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)
If that isn't available then you can request to have a new password send to the email address that you used.

Recovering deleted email in cache or HD
I understand that everything from the internet posts in cache. Does that mean I can find deleted emails from hotmail somewhere on the hard drive?
No. If you deleted them in Mail they are gone.

When sending calendar invite to "invitee" an old address appears. This guy is literally dead (may he rest in peace) and has same first name as person I send to all the time. So "dead" guy always pops up. Can't find his address to delete anywhere -- not in previous recipients, not in my address book, does not "auto-populate" when I try to send an Email. Still shows up everytime I want to send iCal invite. Spooky. Help me delete this guy from my iCal invitee options so he can truly rest in peace. Thanks!

Things I delete on my Mac are still on my iPhone. HELP! Deleting in both places is so time consuming. It has worked until recently...not sure what changed!
Your email provider may have changed certain settings to do with deleting from server when deleting from client so that it no longer works. Are you using pop or imap? If pop then recreate the account using imap.

Is there a way to group emails from a specific soure or with a specific heading etc (eudora does this for example by highlighting one and hitting option/command together-which then groups all emails in your box with the same source, title etc.)..and pull then all together in your in boxes..?
also is it possible to change the background color ( like Eudora) in Mail to something other than white? if so , how??...
and are their any other (other than fonts) way to improve the "look" of Mail?
