Help - Flash imbeded Video on website

Hi there,
I have a query which I really really need an answer for...
I need to find out how much space/memory this set of videos
takes up.
http://vitamix.co.uk/acatalog/Seen_it.html
There is a set of videos and I cant for the life of me figure
out how big they are. I tried using
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/
but that wont analyze it properly.
If someone could help I would be indebted!
Thanks

  • Help: Flash 9 - Video problem - OS X

    OS X 10.4.8
    I installed Flash 9 today, since then no more Google video.
    Browser crashes each time. Also with other sites that use Google
    video. Tried uninstall, and install Flash 8: same problem. Cannot
    get back to previous situation where everything worked fine.
    Also problem with msnbc, no video, claims plugin missing.
    Youtube works fine.

    Hi,
    folder deleted, after reinstall only the two flash files in
    the folder. Same problem.
    Worse, now Google Finance also hangs up. Spinning wheel of
    death, requires force quit. BTW, this is the same for Firefox,
    Safari, and Camino.
    If there is no solution, how can I get back to my previous
    system. The problem started when the Charlie Rose website required
    me to update flash. Before the update everything worked like a
    charm. Now problems everywhere.

    Hi guys,
    First off all, I'm really excited because I made the switch to Apple and Leopard. Yay! But I have one issue I can't figure out.
    Not all flash videos on websites work, for example: www.x17online.com
    Sometimes it's a blank square and sometimes I see an image but I can't play the video. I have flash installed so what's wrong?
    Any help is appreciated!

    There may be a couple Apps that may help, but I understand they don't work very well.  The best solution would be to contact the owners of the websites and let them know they need to update their site.
    The alternative I use, is to download the problem video onto my computer, and convert it to M4V or MP4 format using a program like HandBrake <HandBrake>.  Then it can be added to iTunes and synced with the iPad.

  • Best Resolutions for HD to Flash videos on website

    Hi,
    What is your recommendation for the correct size in pixels for a Flash player on a website?
    We're producing video in Premiere Pro CS4 from original 1920x1080 AVCHD footage shot on Canon HG21 cameras.
    We can make the Flash player on our website any size, of course, but have some web visitors still using 1024x768.
    Also, we will need to publish some videos to You-Tube HD which has an upload of 1290 x 720 resolution.
    So, the question is what resolution would you configure your Flash player on the website for, given the original 1920x1080 and the need to publish sometimes to You-Tube in 1290x720?
    From what I can gather measuring on screen, when you set your screen to 1024 resolution and go to You Tube and switch to HD mode, they are today playing back HD videos in an 853 to 854 pixel wide flash player about 480 pixels tall?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Jonathan

    Thanks pvonk. I get that video is more complex than photos, but Apple still wrote its photo applications to accept all sorts of photo file types (even the many proprietary RAW formats). So I don't think it's crazy to question why this workflow isn't easier for video. Especially when Apple is the biggest champion of integrated video solutions.
    Right now, here's my best guess at a workable solution. Care to weigh in?
    Setup:
    1) Attach a folder action to a folder (let's say ~/Movies/Imported/)
    2) Folder-Action runs shell script that converts videos to mp4 via HandBrake's command line tool
    3) Shell script triggers another folder action upon HandBrake completion to pushes the completed file to a new folder (let's say ~/Movies/Converted/)
    4) "Converted" folder action to import to iTunes (perhaps Applescript? Automator?)
    ~ if one could automatically add a meta tag (let's say "AppleTV") they could be added to a smart album on iTunes that is set up to sync with AppleTV
    *Workflow after Setup:*
    1) Import all movies to a folder (~/Movies/Imported/)
    Does this sound about right? My shell scripting skills are less than adequate for this, so if there is a way to accomplish this with AppleScript, that'd be ideal.
    Any other suggestions to simplify the workflow? The setup here still seems overly complex for a normal user. I can't imagine the folks at Apple really excited about the hurdles involved in this either, so I hope that they're working out a solution already.

  • FLASH 8 VIDEO: Stopping the player while it loads the video

    Hello everyone. I've got a quesiton for you Flash 8 video
    gurus...I've got websites that I'm using Flash 8's incredible video
    delivery on, for example, Billy Idol's keyboardist Derek
    Sherinian's site. I've been looking everywhere for a way to get the
    flash video NOT to automatically play. I.E. if a visitor wants to
    view the video, they'd have to physically push PLAY on the control.
    Can you guys help me out? Thanks very much!
    -Chad

    No experts required...
    Just click on the FLVplayback component and open the
    Component Inspector window. There you will see lots of options to
    control your video, one option being Autoplay. Set that to false
    and your video will not start until the play button is
    pushed.

    Wanted to get some feedback on our new Flash 8 video website

    I'm still trying to figure out how to get the FLVPlayer to

    I seem to always run into the unresponsive state of the player if

  • How to embed Flash .flv video?

    Hello guys,
    I am wondering, is there any way how to embed Flash video onto my web page?
    And regarding QT video template on iWeb's Movie page, can I drag any kind of QT ? Like H.264 QT for example, or is it just for Mpeg2 QT?
    Thank you so much for any advise.

    What is your video codec you are working with? NTSC (and PAL) DV is about 13 gigs/hr uncompressed. When you export your QT movie from your editing application and convert the file to flv you are compressing the video at that time with a determined bit rate and video dimension. quality and file size comes down to math. File size = bit rate x movie length. Quality is bit rate in relation to dimension. Surprisingly enough the recommended video encoder for flv is Flash Video Encoder application that comes with Flash. Sorenson Squeeze is arguably the best flv video encoder. Visual Hub is not recommended if quality and efficiency is desired. Flash Player is a browser plug-in that that allows web visitors to view Flash videos on your website from their web browse. Most already have Flash player installed and you can insert a script that checks to see if the visitor has Flash player installed and if it doesn't a window will appear informing the visitor that they are required to instal the Flash Player in order to view Flash content on your website. A URL is also provided to direct the visitor to the Flash Player download page. Insert this script into the <head></head> of your site:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_CheckFlashVersion(reqVerStr,msg){
    with(navigator){
    var isIE = (appVersion.indexOf("MSIE") != -1 && userAgent.indexOf("Opera") == -1);
    var isWin = (appVersion.toLowerCase().indexOf("win") != -1);
    if (!isIE || !isWin){
    var flashVer = -1;
    if (plugins && plugins.length > 0){
    var desc = plugins["Shockwave Flash"] ? plugins["Shockwave Flash"].description : "";
    desc = plugins["Shockwave Flash 2.0"] ? plugins["Shockwave Flash 2.0"].description : desc;
    if (desc == "") flashVer = -1;
    else{
    var descArr = desc.split(" ");
    var tempArrMajor = descArr[2].split(".");
    var verMajor = tempArrMajor[0];
    var tempArrMinor = (descArr[3] != "") ? descArr[3].split("r") : descArr[4].split("r");
    var verMinor = (tempArrMinor[1] > 0) ? tempArrMinor[1] : 0;
    flashVer = parseFloat(verMajor + "." + verMinor);
    // WebTV has Flash Player 4 or lower -- too low for video
    else if (userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("webtv") != -1) flashVer = 4.0;
    var verArr = reqVerStr.split(",");
    var reqVer = parseFloat(verArr[0] + "." + verArr[2]);
    if (flashVer < reqVer){
    if (confirm(msg))
    window.location = "http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash";
    </script>
    Then replace <body> with this:
    <body onload="MM_CheckFlashVersion('9,0,0,0','Content on this site requires the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Do you want to download it now?');">
    Beginning with Flash Player 9 h.264 QT movies are now supported for playback. Simply change the file extension from .m4v to .flv to convert the h.264 video to Flash video that can be viewed from Flash Player 9+ on a web browser.
    hope that helps!

  • Imbedded video clip

    I am trying to create an imbedded video clip similar to the
    one on this page.
    My Network
    I would like to avoid using flash or shockwave video if I can
    help it. I just want a video file to play when my site opens. I
    would like there to be buttons near the video that will change to a
    new clip at the user’s discretion. I am tolled that the best
    cross platform compatible file types to use for this kind of effect
    are Flash or .mpeg. I am having a hard time finding any tutorials
    that achieve the look I am going for. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.

    You might want to post this on the Flash forum instead of
    here on
    Dreamweaver.

  • Suddenly I can't view imbedded video on any site!...just a white box!

    Recently I lost all ability to view videos on the web through Firefox 13. Videos still work fine w' IE and Chrome and YouTube still works. But w' imbedded video on Yahoo, news sites etc. I just have a big white space. I've also noticed that some adds don't load (perhaps they're video clips as well) and are also a blank white space. Is there a plug-in or extension required for this? I tried downloading new versions of Adobe Flash but I'm not sure how, or if, it installs into Firefox. I'm not sure what changed. All used to work fine.....not sure what changed.

    Do you have the newest Flash plugin, version 11.3, released last Friday? Check out this new support article: [[Flash 11.3 crashes or does not load in Firefox 13]]. Does anything there help?

  • Why doesn't my imbedded video play on iPad?

    Why doesn't my imbedded video play on iPad?

    Is it running flash? Because the iPad 2 does not run flash. Or it could be a bug in the embeded video. Run the debugger and see if that helps. Good luck :-)
